Man, they're still soooooo cool. I been listening to this band for 30 years, nearly, and they're still just as groovy as ever.
I saw them in Glasgow, 2011, danced the entire set and Judah shook my hand at the end . So good. 😀

I saw these guys with Jesus Lizard in 1992 and that show was one of the best I've ever seen. Blues Explosion are an amazing live show.
I saw that same show at CBGB’s and it blew my mind! Glad I wasn’t the only one to see those 2 bands play together.

Saw Jon Spencer twice with Heavy Trash (both times fantastic) and last year I finally had a chance to see the Blues Explosion and it was amazing. That guy OWNS any stage he sets foot on.
Sounds amazing, hope they record that funky new material!!

best version is on 82-83 Demos with the 5 piece lineup. All those versions are better...Dez on guitar and Chuck Biscuits short stint.

Love the country-bluesified Black Flag cover! These guys rule! but I much prefer John Spencer's classic-rock-spazz-boy guitar solos to the guy with the telecaster. That one in Boss Hogg, "I Dig You" is the best ever! :)

The BEST time I saw them was when First Ave in Minny unexpectedly closed/went out of business for a minute in the early aughts, they transferred the show at the last minute to the tiny 400 bar on Cedar (RIP), maybe greatest show I've ever seen. Fellow Matadorians the Pony's opened, they were pretty OK...

saw them SF. Fillmore. 1997(or so). I've seen A LOT of live music .. My extended "family" (friends) are survivors of the mission district '90s era gentrificationrock hollocaust ... I can safely say I've seen many things on a stage that only a select few have.
But this band brings it and does not stop until you have thoroughly been convinced that they are #working .. #bluecollarstye. #gonnadigthatditch #gonnadigthatditch #fullgrown #getdown 🐓🐕
