Sasha may be a toxic character but at the same time is relatable. We all have or know someone like this, but Sasha isn’t malicious. She genuinely believes that she’s doing the best thing for her friends. And she knows what she did was wrong but doesn’t know how to best go about it. She’ll have her redemption, it would be so easy for her to be 1D, but she’s pretty layered.

I’m gonna be the one who brings the unpopular opinion to the table, am I? Eh, screw it.
I love Sasha as a character. She’s a great representation of toxic friendships and how they can manifest in people making terrible decisions (stealing the Calamity Box). Also, in the end, it could be hinted that Sasha, despite her rudeness, really does care about Anne and Marcy’s wellbeing. She is self aware of her actions, but she doesn’t know how to mend them or how to change.
That is what makes a third dimensional character. And a great one at that.

Agreed. Honestly Sasha is so well written, and I hope she gets a well done redemption arc later in the series since she’s now become self aware of how she’s dragged Anne down(and is kinda the reason she’s here in the first place)

Sasha is prolly the best written character in this show and that’s saying a lot since this show is full of ‘em and while she is toxic, she does care about her friends a lot (enough to sacrifice herself to not take Anne down with her at the very least)

What I think is great about her is that, even if she has toxic traits, you can see she doesn't want to cause anyone harm. Idk, Anne was pretty toxic too, so is Marcy. At the end of the day, I think a toxic person knows they are hurting people and they just don't care, so call Sasha toxic doesn't feel right

When i first watched Amphibia, i could seriously feel the toxicity of Sasha, making me feel uncomfortable (mainly to some experience).
But for some reason she's actually warming up to me. Especially around the end of S2. She's a great character I'd say-

Imma theorize Sasha's upbringing judging by her current character. It seems like growing up, Sasha was used to getting what she wanted and having things usually go her way. Possibly from her parents spoiling her. Also, I think her controlling and slightly manipulative side came from one of her parents doing the same towards her. So now she does the same towards Anne and possibly Marcy as well. I guess because she saw how acting that way gets others to do what she wants. However, at the same time, she does seem to genuinely care about her friends but in an unorthodox way apart from other friend groups
I think Sasha shows more evidence of growing up with neglectful and emotionally abusive parents.
@@maybeee7990 I think so too. Of course we all know how Anne is with her parents due to how loving and supportive they are. For Marcy, I have a feeling she had a very strict upbringing. Mostly from her dad. I think that's why she does so well in school because her dad constantly pushes her to always do better. Because he's so strict with her, she often copes by playing video games a lot and hanging out with her two best friends as much as she could. Mainly as a way of escapism from her strict home lifestyle. Also, that's probably why she's so happy and cheerful all the time. It's all a coping mechanism to hide how stressed and lonely she really is from everyone else. Especially from Anne and Sasha. Plus, her dad didn't sound like he sympathized with her bad reaction to the news about them moving away. While her mom sounded very concerned when Marcy stormed out of the house, her dad coldly demanded her to come back. Showing that he's most likely not very considerate of her feelings
In the Christmas episode it's revealed Sasha's parents are divorced so IDK what You're talking about...
2:27 the end of discussion line sound like something a fed up parent would say and considering her parents don't live together anymore revealed in the chrismas ep she probably has no controle at home and her parents might just buy her a bunch of stuff to make up for the neglect she is going thru
I don't think Sasha is a "toxic friend" because she genuinely seems to care about Anne. Yes, she can be a bad influence and yes she pressured Anne into doing bad things, but you can clearly see that Sasha cares about Anne and Marcy and lot. She protects them in high school and only wants what's best for them.
To me, a toxic friend is someone who really doesn't care about you and only uses you to get what they want. Toxic friends are manipulative and not real friends. But Sasha does seem like a real friend, albeit an imperfect one. But the thing is, everyone is imperfect and I don't think Sasha being a bad influence is enough to declare her as "toxic".
Do I think Sasha is a good person? No. No one is beyond redemption but at this point she's was a hooligan, vandal, thief, and helped to try and kill Hop Pop, making her an accomplice to murder. But do I think she's a good friend? Yes. Because even bad people can have and be good friends.
(On a related note, "toxic" is being overused to such an extent that no one even knows what it means anymore. All of it's power as a word is taken away when people use it to describe every single negative relationship, person, or interaction, even in cases where those negative things aren't really that bad.)
Toxic friends can come in all forms its realistic they do care about you but unknowingly harms you and are bad influences people who pretend to be your friends are rare most of the time they do genuinely care but fail to realize their actions and when they do its hard for them to change while yes your point is valid she is toxic just not in the way you think and that's the point of her character she's disturbingly realistic
In sashas defence king Andrias ordered the toads to stop the rebellion and she genuinely thought that she was doing something good to get her friends back
Seems like Catra and Adora in the episode when they lose the memory and the portal make the ilusion of a flashback where they are bff...after all, i hope they end up together af all the development they are likely to have as characters

She's not manipulative, but she is controlling. It's a trait that makes her a good leader but it can also be used to intimidate people in some cases.

If you see the flash back where Catra and adora are in Shadow Weaver lab / place and they kinda saw her face and Catra got blamed and adora didn’t . It was also both there ideas.

Am I the only one who thinks their best moments are when they are fighting, arguing, singing or fighting something ?
I can’t believe the show ended it was one of the best shows ever
So it’s implied that at some point, Sasha’s parents split up (by Anne writing to her parents separately in Season 3)
In the earliest flashback we see of the Calamity Trio (on the playground), Sasha is seen diligently “defending” her friends from bullies with no ulterior motive. It’s clear she cares about Anne and Marcy in some real regard, and never really loses that “never-give-up” attitude.
Divorce can be hard on younger kids, beyond them occasionally blaming themselves it can make them yearn for control over their lives. Coupling that with her inherent stubbornness, it’s not too far-fetched of an idea that, deep down, she’s afraid the unconditional love Anne and Marcy hold for her is something she has to secure by being the one in charge, lest they split up like her folks did
It doesn’t really excuse her abuse of her close friends but it does a good job explaining the mindset behind it and the later seasons do a good job of redeeming her in earnest, with her learning to relinquish control and have more trust and faith in the people she cares about

I'm sorry, I'm not willing to respect people for seriously shipping an ship that is incredibly manipulative and toxic, even platonically. by that I'm speaking about sasha and anne, sasha tried to take away and imprison her closest friends/family in amphibia, also made anne do illegal/bad things, like forcing her to steal things and miss class, also missing her parents birthday party they set up for her, running from police and etc, in the end sasha hasn't changed a bit, and isn't willing to anyways. If you think about it sasha and marcy were mainly the one to cause the whole amphibia incident. now speaking about marcy and anne, marcy forced sasha and anne to stay with her forever in amphibia, and hiding the truth from both of them. also died in the process, i do get that marcy had an reason, but she literally didn't care about how her friends would've acted before doing so, basically in the end both ships are extremely toxic, if you do ship them, please ship them platonically.
