For clarification, butterflies and moth are symbols of change, death and rebirth in some cultures. Hence why the butterflies are foreshadowing for Marcy’s “death” but also rebirth. They will not have any human child legitimately die on-screen. They could probably get away with killing off Sprig though. Once the three get back together, they will have some scenes devoted to patching up their friendship. This show leans heavily into the themes of friendship and working together, and it wouldn't be narratively satisfying to have the three just not be friends again after (presumably) saving both worlds from King Andrias.

And she appears to not having struggles as she’s very excited to become a guard when she’s only a kid. - The way she first saw the Plantar families as part of a trope she really loves can tell that she’s inputting the fantasy game life into reality. - She is oblivious, careless of her own being and others that Anne has to be her mom figure. Even though she knows the dangers and puzzles, she didn’t think about what about other people feel and do. As seen in the first temple when she nearly puts everyone in danger and to her own mind, she’s playing “Hard Mode” like a game. - I heard that her version of amphibia’s theme would be 8-bit, like video game bytes. And her own theme song sounds like a fantasy adventure game - Marcy didn’t even go deeper on how strangled Anne and Sasha’s friendship had become. She only thinks about the box and all of the adventures she has with them. She wanted it to be with them, no matter the cost. - When her betrayal finally shows to light, she quotes, “I gave you this - I gave you everything!” It felt like she has gifted the world to her friends - She gave Sprig to Anne, She gave the toads to Sasha, she gave all of their adventures together. She was trying to convince her friends, even herself, that she’s doing the right thing.
''She was trying to convince her friends, even herself, that she’s doing the right thing.'' This is exactly what makes the ''I gave you everything'' scene such a tragic and terrifying moment, at least in my eyes.

The whole butterfly thing reminds me of that one Chinese song called "Butterfly Lovers" (Trust me the name sounds better in Chinese) Basically, a guy meets a girl and starts to like her. She asks her dad if he can get married to her. The dad says no. The guy realizes he may never see the girl again and dies. The girl jumps into the coffin and dies. Then two butterflies fly out and start to dance with each other
That story sounds a lot like Romeo and Juliet. But yeah, butterflies have been a symbol of the afterlife in many Asian cultures. Personally I kind of believe it.
Help guys I love butterflies (they usually come during springtime, one of the reasons I love spring so much) but they've been kinda around me at school and when heading back home from school (even while in the bus I can see them outside it).. and with all the death/afterlife representations.. Should I start panicking/worrying already..?
You forgot one, in “Scavenger Hunt” when the first clue is given to the group, One of them says “Someone’s trying to kill us!” Only for Marcy to say it was a *“sign from the king.”*
Me watching the series: you know, I really relate to Marcy in a lot of ways. Me at the end of season two: … why is it always the one I relate to that dies!
Butterflies/moths are known for their metamorphoses, which is in turn associated with rebirth and change. Makes sense they'd appear a lot, especially in connection with Marcy. The show itself centers itself around change both figurative and literal. Amphibians undergo a metamorphosis of their own, so considering that it makes a lot of sense! That's why a lot of focus is put on the character arcs and personal growth. I can imagine there will be a lot more change in season three, and a lot more learning to accept it. Come to think of it, this whole thing started because Marcy was unwilling to accept a change (her family moving away) so I can imagine by the end of things she may have to face the hard truth and part ways.
I thought that was foreshadowing initially. But then I searched up what “flayed” means, which is to have your skin removed, and that doesn’t line up with what happens.
marcy´s adorableness makes me wanna change my halloween costume from sasha to marcy but plans are already in motion. Plus overall sasha is my favorite.
Darcy: Now that our invasion has started, it is time to... Anne: Your cape is on fire. Darcy: *turns and sees her cape on fire* FOR CRYING OUT LOUD, I THOUGHT WE PATCHED THIS QUIRK!!!!
Marcy: "Why won't you let me go!?" Anne: "Because I don't wanna lose you again!" The Amphibia creators: "Yeah- no-" *Cutely makes Marcy gets stabbed by a fire sword* (Cant wait for s3! lol)
The fact that I have only seen s1 of amphibia when disney XD was still around and never got to s3 I’m not only feeling the regret of not being able to watch this far but I also feel bad that marcy dies
I used to want to watch Amphibia because, well....I remember when it was announced and I've been keeping eyes on it since and it seemed good. Had trouble getting going on it though, unironically because the overall vibe is a swamp and my brain knows that means mosquitoes and it made me uncomfortable LMAO. By the time I actually got going on it, Marcy was introduced. Now it was three friends. Red, green and blue. Three best friends. And I couldn't watch it anymore.
I only just bingewatched all the currently-released episodes of Amphibia a couple days ago, but Marcy is already such a huge comfort character for me. I really hope she'll be okay by the end of the series, and that her, Anne and Sasha can all be close friends. At least. Personally I'm kind of rooting for Marcy x Anne, but who knows what'll happen. I just want Marcy back, she's so precious.
Here's for all the slow-readers (a.k.a me 😂): 0:11 "You jinxed it. Wtf Sasha!" 0:23 and 0:30 "Oh no...." 0:43 "Awww, how cute" 1:15 "You'll regret saying that" 1:18 "Not again..." 1:31 "You're right, she's the one who'll be backstabbed" 1:39 "*Casually falls*" 1:46 On Anne & Marcy: "Marcanne" On Sprig & Polly: "Shippers" 2:04 "You'll find out soon Marcy..." 2:21 "Touché Sprig" 2:40 "Oh the irony..." 2:47 "Who's it gonna be?" 3:15 "*Fire sword*" 3:26 "*Falls*"
I do find it interesting that Marcy says "you mean a lot to Anne" not "Anne means a lot to you", like she doesn't fully acknowledge the friendship plus it gives more gravity to when Marcy later says "Look what i gave you"

@Enchxntiing_Roses definitely not
@Enchxntiing_Roses 1:47
So does the big fire sword 😊😊😊
The whole butterfly thing reminds me of that one Chinese song called "Butterfly Lovers" (Trust me the name sounds better in Chinese)
Basically, a guy meets a girl and starts to like her.
That's pretty cool!
Whoa
Considering Marcy's chinese descendence, it makes sense
Help guys I love butterflies (they usually come during springtime, one of the reasons I love spring so much) but they've been kinda around me at school and when heading back home from school (even while in the bus I can see them outside it).. and with all the death/afterlife representations.. Should I start panicking/worrying already..?
1:31 "You're NO backstabber..."
Oof, That one was actually painful...
Even though I've seen true colors, definitely glad the title didn't say what specifically it was foreshadowing.
You forgot one, in “Scavenger Hunt” when the first clue is given to the group, One of them says “Someone’s trying to kill us!” Only for Marcy to say it was a *“sign from the king.”*
“You’re no backstabber”
She’s the backstabbie💀
This is never not traumatizing
Fr
Cant believe Marcy was stabbed in the back both literally and figuratively
Sasha: *One of these days she’s gonna get herself killed*
*gasp*
“Don’t say that!”
*Anne you clearly don’t know..*
Later:
Sasha “I jinxed it!”
Grime “Jinxed what?”
@@merrittanimation7721 King Andrias: Now look what you made me do!
That was some cruel foreshadowing, Disney 😟
Disney is not behind the foreshadowing 🤦♀️the writers are
Its about teen, even adults are watching it too.
Me watching the series: you know, I really relate to Marcy in a lot of ways.
Me at the end of season two: … why is it always the one I relate to that dies!
Haha same
2:07
What’s even funnier about this bit is that I watched that episode on a Saturday
I almost cried 🙂
The fact that I resemble close to marcy out of our three friends makes it much closer to home
When Sprig said “you’re not a backstabber” to Marcy, my mind immediately went to the scene of March getting stabbed and killed by Andrias
Out of my friend I feel like I’m the one most likely to be killed off as a major side character
3:08 “IM A DRA-GAY FLY”
Dragannefly
i dont think there is a yk what nvm i dont want the show to be ruined with ships but ofc there is the butler and the mayor yeah thats only it
Anne :Locker door locker door marcy : *hits herself with locker*
dont forget in marcy at the gates when sprig was like “or gets flayed by a-“ and then anne shushes him
I thought that was foreshadowing initially. But then I searched up what “flayed” means, which is to have your skin removed, and that doesn’t line up with what happens.
@@Marngel oh-
@@Marngel also i, too, am a sprig fan
The theme song takeover!?! “Hope nothing bad ever happens to me”
2:24 I laughed so HARD dwugsfyayvsfa
1:21 That's exactly what Spencer (iCarly) said when he was playing drums and one of the cymbals caught fire.
Marcy is no backstabber
she is the backstabbee
Marcy:I have changed
The cape:yea yea nope my friend
anne: marcy nooooooooo
also anne: that was the worst saturday of my life.....
me in the corner: watching TRUE COLORS ON A SATURDAY
Marcy predicted her own..
Well..
😭✋
This episode has some intense final scenes. It might be scary for younger viewers.
If you think about it, Marcy is basically Amphibia's version of Luz
marcy´s adorableness makes me wanna change my halloween costume from sasha to marcy but plans are already in motion. Plus overall sasha is my favorite.
ALL I FEEL IS PAIN
This video makes me cry not gonna lie.....😭😓😢😧😦
How do i get so attached to a character I’ve never seen before in 3 minutes
King: *stabs*
Marcy: *falls cutely*
Fandom breaks into a million pieces
Sasha: you are gonna get yourself killed someday Marcy. True colors: ok
I swear, every time she tries to be cool, her cape sets on fire.
Her fear may have been what started all of this. But her envy is what sealed her fate.
Darcy: Now that our invasion has started, it is time to...
Anne: Your cape is on fire.
Darcy: *turns and sees her cape on fire* FOR CRYING OUT LOUD, I THOUGHT WE PATCHED THIS QUIRK!!!!
THAT SHOULDVE HAPPENED
Dragonflies also symbolizes death and those are always closely related to Anne’s death in the show
2:20 oof. And she did end up being the pawn... damn Marcy.
She was literally a pawn,... do you remember King Andrea's chess with Anne and Marcy as a figures?
Marcy: "Why won't you let me go!?"
Anne: "Because I don't wanna lose you again!"
The Amphibia creators: "Yeah- no-" *Cutely makes Marcy gets stabbed by a fire sword*
(Cant wait for s3! lol)
Marcy will be saved
Like a gamer like Marcy or me would say..
**cutely dies and only ANNE can save me**
Ngl I cried more when frobo died. Good thing they'll both come back in season 3
If I hadn’t watched that episode yet this title would have had me deader than Marcy
Sprig: I was wrong, you're no backstabber.
*Darcy literally slices Sasha's back*
😳😳😳
3:01 This might be off topic, but I think Sasha thinks those bug costumes look hot on them.
The fact that I have only seen s1 of amphibia when disney XD was still around and never got to s3 I’m not only feeling the regret of not being able to watch this far but I also feel bad that marcy dies
You guys remember when Ann hair turned blue when she had some of hop pop drink
Gasp Good thinking I thought the same thing
she may not be the backstabber, Sprig, but she was certainly the backstabbee
I used to want to watch Amphibia because, well....I remember when it was announced and I've been keeping eyes on it since and it seemed good. Had trouble getting going on it though, unironically because the overall vibe is a swamp and my brain knows that means mosquitoes and it made me uncomfortable LMAO.
By the time I actually got going on it, Marcy was introduced. Now it was three friends. Red, green and blue. Three best friends. And I couldn't watch it anymore.
“I love it in amphibia, I never want to leave, hope nothing bad ever happens to me!”
"they don't eat frogs" Marcy, you're not a frog. XD
2:06 Every anime, ever.
"Oh, look! Something dangerous! Wait, is that a middle school student?"
I just want Marcy back, she's so precious.
same, i'm so far only up to the beginning of season 3, hopefully marcy is okay. like i know she's "ok" but thats very different
cant believe someone straight up got impaled in a disney show
Yeah she'll get backstabbed "figurativly and literaly."
Not to mention the end of marcys themesong takeover
Later on, we learn that Andrias wasn't just being a wise-ass. He really regretted having to do that.
Did you ever know that Marcy eyes glow green before and after she goes inside the ant queen
Here's for all the slow-readers (a.k.a me 😂):
0:11 "You jinxed it. Wtf Sasha!"
0:23 and 0:30 "Oh no...."
0:43 "Awww, how cute"
1:15 "You'll regret saying that"
1:18 "Not again..."
1:31 "You're right, she's the one who'll be backstabbed"
1:39 "*Casually falls*"
1:46 On Anne & Marcy: "Marcanne"
On Sprig & Polly: "Shippers"
2:04 "You'll find out soon Marcy..."
2:21 "Touché Sprig"
2:40 "Oh the irony..."
2:47 "Who's it gonna be?"
3:15 "*Fire sword*"
3:26 "*Falls*"
I do find it interesting that Marcy says "you mean a lot to Anne" not "Anne means a lot to you", like she doesn't fully acknowledge the friendship plus it gives more gravity to when Marcy later says "Look what i gave you"
1:38
-What is it with fictional asian teenage girls who's names start with "Mar" and falling down the stairs-
exactly-
All I know is that she is the best.
“If I just play well enough no one will get hurt.” except you.
