I've owned the Hustler for 2 yrs. Great mower. Mine has the flex forks on the front so it rides like a Cadillac. When I trade it'll be for another Hustler.
I own a Exmark and a hustler, Pros and Cons to both. Both super heavy duty machines. I have also been a lawn equipment mechanic for 39 yrs so I tend to look at things a little different than most. Get the best mower you can afford and maintain it. Scag, Exmark, Hustler and Bad Boy are what I consider the 4 best. The real winner is Hyro Gear because they power almost all ZTR’s.
I have owned a FasTrak 54 since 2013. It has been an outstanding mowing machine. The only thing I’ve had done was the the right hydro fan pulley started rattling. The dealer replaced it for $120 total. That’s it for unexpected expenses after 10 years and 350 hrs
@@DoctorRickSanchez actually yes they are common and have no problem getting parts if they break down. I know several ppl that abuse these things and have no major problems. But when they needed parts that wear out they have them. Plus I know a guy that works on them with other mowers as well and he says they are great machines.
@@DoctorRickSanchez all three were brand new and assembled half-assed from incompetent dealers. Scag gave me the cold shoulder and would not get involved. I looked at a bad boy and made a video on it, their attention to detail was missing.
I recommend Hustler SDX or Higher I have owned Hustler since 2015 and very impressed with them, plus I even have a Hustler raptor that is kinda like a bulldozer lol I get that one into super heavy duty stuff and I'm like super impressed with all. Good luck on you new machines . 🙌
@@PLM1 thanks, since I posted that last comment I actually purchased my 4th new scag, a 2022 tigercat 2 with a 28 horsepower Vanguard efi, it's sat in my garage overnight and it leaked oil and five different places. It'll be the last damn time I ever touch another scag. I went and looked at a bad boy and I made a video on it, so many problems with the bad boys and I didn't even have to drive one. I am using a push mower now because I can't find a zero turn worthy. I'm actually still looking at hustlers and maybe next year but the prices have skyrocketed and I can't see paying thousands more for the same mower. Maybe last year's mower at a discount would sit well. It's between a Raptor XD or a Fastrak sdx.

Last week I bought a new 2021 Hustler Fastrak 48 with the Kawasaki from my local dealer. Plenty of power and the cut is awesome! Love it! This is my 4th Hustler. Owned 2 Super Zs and a Raptor in the past. Hustler all the way!
I went to get a Hustler but ended up getting the BB Maverick HD 54” cut simply off of looks, I didn’t know much about them at the time except owners of them both liked them so I simply chose the one I thought looked better and so far I’ve been happy with it…
I bought a Bad Boy Maverick 54" for our non profit and really like it. We are about to buy a second mower and i am thinking either Ferris 700 or Hustler Fastback.
Hustler ever time! Neighbor had a bad boy till he used my hustler!!! Hands down... His brand new badboy left his new garage floor oil drenched numerous times...
@@PLM1 it has been great this season. Really no complaints except maybe the overall ground speed of it. But I'm using it in small yards and not on big property's of course. But next season I'm thinking about selling it and getting a trimstar walk-behind with a proslide.
I've got a couple years before I'll replace my hustler raptor sd that I use for a small lawn care business but right now the maverick hd will probably be the one I chose because it is offered with a 42" deck. 40% of my customers have gate that won't fit anything bigger than a 42".
Eh... it is what it is I guess these days. That seems to be about the going price. These things are just high right now. I would see if you can wait until winter or when the '23's come out and get it for a little less.

Minus the seat, adjustable drive arms, enter drive gears, stronger deck, suspension, larger fuel tank, I beam front arms, heavier castors for front wheels, better front spindles, better wheels and tires, no flat front tires, stronger frame and the bad boy is much easier to service/work on.

@@e.nichols5380 You must have missed the part where you have to remove the Hydro Gear unit on the Bad Boy to change the fan. It's a 5min. job on the hustler.
This is not an apples to apples comparison. The Bad Boy Maverick HD needs to be compared to the 2022 and newer Hustler FasTrak SDX. The Hustler is the better machine hands down.

I had my Maverick 54 inch with a Kawasaki now going on 4 years. No problems at all cutting two and a half acres.

They were in business when I bought my ExMark mower back in 2006 so I don’t think they’re doing too bad.
You got the speeds backwards. Bad Boy 10 mph and Hustler is 9 mph.
I guess we're both wrong. I checked both manufacturers websites again and they're both listed at 10mph.
