The Chronic is still one of the best albums of the 90s. You still hear the hits from The Chronic album on old school stations to this day. It's like the Led Zeppelin IV or The Wall of Hip Hop: it stands the test of time.
We had love for the D.O.C. here in NYC/East Coast. He was the real deal and could spit, had bars & a nice flow with a distinctive voice. Salute to an underrated legend
D.o.c has an awesome sounding voice these days imo. Its distinctive af and could still work on the right project. Maybe it wouldn't have worked back then but i think the sonic landscape of hip hop has broadened since then
I had the the chronic on yesterday doing my house work...while the kids where out playing...my mum came around and was like...you still listen to that Doctor Jay lol. Dre did 3 solo songs on The Chronic and had a verse on 5 other songs. I cant even imagine no verses from Dre on that album. The D.O.C. was right to talk him into doing it. Otherwise, that album would not have had any direction.

Back in the day we used to call The DOC the west coast Rakim even though he’s from Texas but he blew up in the coast with the Ruthless Posse. The DOC was a big big deal in his era, he was as líricas as his east coast peers with his own original style
This is why I get annoyed when people call Dr. Dre fake because he has ghost writers. Dr. Dre never once came out and tried to front as a lyricist. And it’s not that he doesn’t write anything it’s just that a lot of times it’s either the DOC, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, etc. that have done the writing for him. That’s not why dr. Dre is a legend now. He’s proven you can contribute so much to hip-hop without being a lyricist.
The Chronic was actually if you take 3 Dre solo songs away really a compilation album mostly of Snoop Daz Kurupt Rbx Rage Nate and Doc but I liked the way it came Dre needed to have some verses on that album his face is on the cover lol I'll take Doggystyle over The Chronic but both Classic records

D.O.C. is a genius & it’s easy to believe he would’ve had an more impactful career had the car accident not happened.
The Chronic is still one of the best albums of the 90s.

Chronic Is one of the best hiphop albums of all time
Better than any hip hop album post 2000 never mind the 90s. 50 CENT, Eninem wasn’t on the same level as this
The D.O.C. one of hip-hops biggest What If’s. Still happy he’s part of the culture and I wanna see his documentary

I disagree the chronic hit cause of snoop dogg raps. Dre production and snoop dogg was the match made with heaven
It was basically creativity, meeting preparation, mixed with OPPORTUNITY, which equaled……SUCCESS!
@@ALexander-ue3kj think a hit harder now
Would it have done that without the dre beats and snoops rapping

The D.o.c was my favorite rapper

DOC is underrated as an artist and writer! Very talented! 💐
Probably the greatest ghostwriter we have ever had.
Can we please have this album back on Apple Music! Such a classic.
The chronic 2001 was one of the best made cd..even got the instrumental version to mix
Chronic 2001 was good however chronic was better than 2001

One of my top five records of all time true master piece classic
I cannot find this damn podcast!! 😂 I would rather just watch the whole thing!!!
THE D.O.C is legend
Dre was the best part of the album
What's fucked up is the hospital did the damage to his vocals, not the accident.
Well it was basically a snoop dogg collab tape
he needed to rap to elevate marketing and endorsing snoop
DOC penmanship was most talented in NWA. I’d say even ahead of Cube at the time.
Chronic is a top 5 album !
Exactly
Dr.Dre Needs to Hit up Roadium Radio
The DOC was crazy after his album, he was doin too much, the cops wanted him to crash he was at his highest point in his life.
One of my TOP 5 TOP 10 MC'S
when is this guy gonna release the full interview. he is milking it. thing is its current, people wanna hear it now. not in a year when its old.
No one can do it better

Wait so D.O.C. from Dallas Texas?
He needs to give Scott Storch his credit too.

DOC also really nice guy
Not even a mention of the song he's featured in. fast ones by the band codefendants .no love

I think Dre is gonna try and drop an album on the 30th anniversary of The Chronic that will be bad.
This old news already TF
D.O.C wasn't a gangsta rapper...🤣🤣🤣🤣...he was a lyricist
The DOC is the Rakim for the West Coast
The chronic is the best album in the world
I'm wandering why snoop does'nt sign Lady of rage to death row?
Where’s RBX?
But Dre Day only meant Eazy’s payday.
The D.o.c would've been the best if he didn't crash.
I did my first drive by while listening A ni₽₽a with a gun song

NGL I think DOC been ghost writing for rappers and collecting money

SNOOP DOGG POT FARMER DANCE SONG $$
I got out my pipe stuffed it with pot
You better believe it held a whole lot.
I whipped out a lighter thumbed up a flame
Sucked down that smoke which comforts my brain.
I tried alcohol smoked cigarettes
They did nothing but give me regrets.
My mom had arthritis could not walk around
I rolled her a joint she danced on the ground.
I thought I was losing my lovemaking knack
After I smoked some to me it came back.
Soon I decided prices were high
I searched for some ground I wouldn't have to buy.
I bargained for seeds from smokers all around
Got in my truck and drove out of town.
I walked through the woods where wild birds nest
Found me the meadow I thought was the best.
I dug up the ground sowed all my seeds
Said a small prayer for strong, healthy weeds.
I watered at night with a five-gallon pail
Mosquitoes went hungry for I wore a veil.
Seven months went by; I thought I would die
Till the Halloween moon was high in the sky.
At night I went out, in a camouflage suit
Used my corn knife to chop down the loot.
I hung it up to dry where it couldn’t be found.
Came back and got it, when it had turned brown.
I trimmed off the buds, stuffed them in bags
Called all my friends and passed out free drags.
In less than a week my crop was gone
I flew to St. Thomas with a love hungry blonde!!
