This was an awesome test! How come this test blew away the test for the TS-453D? I might buy this NAS, but how do you think it would perform as a Plex server and some docker containers? I ask because the j4025 is only two cores.
I really don't understand! Why in the year 2020 are NAS devices STILL equipped with slow and inferior CPUs that fail to deliver serious video streaming performance such as 4k 60fps (and even up to 8k) video content across devices via the Plex media server!?! For many people that's the reason for having a NAS. We now live in a world where there are standalone VR headsets (Oculus Quest 2) that are capable of streaming 8k 60fps video footage wirelessly from a Plex media server, but are there any NAS machines out there that has the specifications to deliver this type of performance? If the only real goal of a NAS in the home is for system backups and file retrieval, then what's the point of heavily investing in a NAS instead of just connecting an external drive directly into the computer instead?
Good question, they are so crap in fact that I am still using my old i7-8700k desktop as my media streaming device, as it's still vastly superior to any of these media streaming NAS.
I'm about to buy some NAS for my home. What would you recommend? I need something with RAID 1, possible homeassistant, transmission, DLNA, Plex for my TV or TV Box 4K
Wow, that was amazing vs the other Plex tests you have done on other NAS’s!
PS I’m NOT single 😻😸

I noticed Plex shows AAC stereo. Do you have any files with 5.1 or Dolby Atmos? I believe the CPU transcoded the audio.

Can you share these test files?? Would like to try this on my 451+ like you spoke on your other video it is a quad core

Is the movie played over HDMI to monitor or via a network cable to computer monitor?
The movie is streamed over the network to the laptop (He mentions this early in the video)
can this nas handle hardware transcodeing over wifi?
