You can Clone Soldier hunt in a PVP-fit Assault Frigate very easily. Harpy with blasters and passive tank melts face and because of the resists and sig it tanks just fine. It also warps/gets into warp faster.

Last time I was in low sec with a drake I got followed and killed by a T2 cruiser (Lachesis) and friends. My missiles didn't even scratch the cruiser.
Well now you should defently pvp fit your drake now that we all know where you are
You could also just bring a cormorant with t2 neutrons and blap them just as well, north of 300 dps it's pretty chill. Sure, it's not that fast, but its a cheap ship paying for itself within 1 killed clone transporter.
That's a big clunky ship for such work :) Drakes are always cool though xD
I've given up on trying to do these with caracals. Cormorants are just fine and don't get blopsed so much.
I do this in a Coercer Navy Issue. It's pretty easy. Just orbit at 500 and let the 350 dps pulses eat it. You have to survive the journey from your landing point to the rat. That's the only risky part.

Supply and demand. A lot of people with the same ideas as you. ANYTHING in the game that is giving above-average rewards is going to draw the attention of more people.
There used to be a guy who would buy up most of the tags and he would control price. Perhaps he finally gave up his market? Another thing could be that more people are farming them than before
I used to use localthreat.xyz/ as my go to tool to check for hunters/targets in system, just copy everyone in local and paste on the site, and it gives you a brief summary of everyone in local.
there is also pirates little helper, but last time i used (a few years ago) it didn't worked very well.
Local threat is easy to use, especially if you have a 2nd monitor.

If you still do this. Try a jackdaw.
5 rocket launchers. 2 medium shield extenders, multispectrum hardeners, core extender rigs and at least 1 nano in lows.
It will kill clones just fine (lose chunk of shield to get close ... but when orbit 500 its fine).
But the instant-warp in travel mode makes checking belts and traveling much faster and safer!
The escalations in High sec are really bad lately, I am not sure but it feels it was nerfed down lately, last year the drops were much better. Just a question, how did you get your dps this high? Skills?
I really have been trying to make escalations work for a number of weeks. I agree with you and Ace.
I got a Pith C invuln from an escalation a few weeks ago. Just the 1, tho.
Had 4 escalations that week. 3 in HS, 1 in LS.
@@gfox9295 that sounds like a lot of what happens for me. After losing a few ships in a row in LS I skip them now. After getting a MS shield hardener and a Gila BP I think in he same day I was chasing that high since. Time they take to trigger the 4s, skipping the LS ones and occasionally getting a site ninja's from you. Plus the runs where you dont get any loot just makes it really brutal.
I'm under the impression that escalations keep an internal counter of how many you had in the past. I came back as alpha after a 3-year hiatus, started doing hisec sites in an Algos and got no less than 8 escalations in a week, 6 of which in hisec. Gurista 4/10 and Serpentis 3/10. That was maybe 1 escalation every 3-4 sites. Then the week after, nothing. Not a single one. It's almost like the game said "You had 0 escalations in the last 3 years, let us make up for it" and then when my quota was exhausted, it reverted back to single digit percent chance.
I tried escalations a few months ago. I looked for them all night, 4 hours. I got 1, in LS and the drop was garbage. After 3 days of that I just said no. Not worth the time. GETTING an escalation takes way too much time, much less getting one that drops anything worthwhile.
A decent fitted vexor can take down clone soldier negociators, so you can go even cheaper.
Alpha dessies do it fine, the locals while pointed are the biggest concern xD

Yup! Its very easy for alphas, the npc pirates dont challenge you much, its mainly players you need to be careful for.

It’s pretty likely to hit it, unless its a sucumbus or some sort of fast AB armor ship
No. I kill Transporters in a Merlin. A rocket Talwar works well too.
You shouldn't need to use a ship worth much more than 10 million.
absolutely not, you can orbit 500 with a destroyer too. against the webbing clone soldier in 0.2 you have to watch out tho
@@tjerkeman5369 you can just orbit the 0.2 clone in a destroyer at 500 easy. You'll take damage on the run in, but after that you're pretty much unhittable.
