Thanks, Bob and Brad. Good job in short time. I'm 70 yrs old and a lifelong runner, former world-class. I've been training to break the 5K world record for my age. I'm smart and don't overdo it. Everything was going just fine, and I was running/training from 3 miles to 6 miles, sometimes more, three days on and one day off. Then, I got out of bed one morning a month ago and had pain above my hip, sore to the touch. It just came out of nowhere. I've had x-rays and an MRI, but everything appears ok. The docs think it may be bursitis. My running was going fine - no pain anywhere, no pulls, etc. It's getting me down.

Man, I just turned 31. I had a baby 10 months ago. I carry him a lot. I wake up in pain every day. I can’t walk for long periods of time. This is not what I want for myself at this stage in life. Everybody please take care of yourselves and don’t take your body for granted. You could wake up and not be the same as yesterday 🥺

Guys, checked out your vid two weeks ago. Hip been sore for 5 years, been told everything from, muscles, laziness, back issues to bursitis. Discovered on friday was a life threatening blood clot in pelvis - surgery tomorrow. Lucky I didn’t keep googling and went to hospital.
Thanks to you both. This was very instructional. I fractured my 3rd Lumbar Vertebra in 2014 and have a lot of referred pain on my right hip. On top of that the right hip isn't in the fullness of youth anyway so that's a bit of a double whammy. I have a lot of trouble straightening up after sitting down for than 10 minutes and I tend to hobble until the whole shebang re-aligns itself, so to speak.
You guys are the first video that specifically focused on where the pain is. Others were too vague. Thanks for that. My pain is from either using a walking boot ( (Achilles rupture) or PT too intense at this time
Thanks guys for a good explanation of hip pain- I think mine is from bursitis- hurts when getting up from sitting, and after a drive in the car...much pain when putting weight on that leg and stiffness and it gets slightly better with movement. Does bursitis ever get better?
Im a 30 year RN, 59 years old, recent onset of hip pain. Noticed most when I have to walk up steps that are a higher rise than normal steps, lifting my weight on that leg/hip. I think you helped me decide its bursitis, will treat with ice, thanks so much!
Walking up steps also causes hip pain for me. I have treated with a heating pad and ice which only temporarily lessens the pain so I don't waste my time in doing either one of these, I just live with it.

I'm 19 and I have sharp, deep pain on the back of my right hip and spreading up my very low back. I lift heavy 4 days a week, ride my bike every day, and am very flexible. I have bilateral hip pain, equal intensity, only when I'm moving the joints. I walk 3-5 miles a day with my dog, and it's quite bothersome. It has just started hurting over the last week. Do you think the pain source is my back?(I just watched this video) I frequently have lower "back" pain, though since watching some other videos, wondering if it's SI pain.
Nice video. I cant sit cross legged with my left leg (Starts paining), supposedly there is a discomfort on the groin, no pain otherwise. What could be the diagnosis. I am on heavier side weighing 85 kg 160 cm aged 39 F and from India. Using two wheeler for last five years only. Could it be the reason or something else.
i turned 21 and about a week later i had a herniation corrected in the L4 and L5. i’ve not been able to walk again normally, and now it causes me extreme pain in my hips. Watching this video i’m realizing i have arthritis in my hips. i’m 25 now.

My wife had her hip pain since October 2022 until now. Both side pain from hip and down to thighs. Despite the MRI scan shows no sign of hips problems we are still seeking specialist to investigate where’s the hip pain related to? Any advise would appreciate. Thxs
Hello, we have seen one other reason for hip pain, my mother had excruciating hip pain, orthopedic surgeon found no fracture etc,But she had MRSA and they think it went into hip, after 8weeks on antibiotic drip, she is now beginning to walk with an aid. hopefully I'll be able to apply some of your light exercises shortly.
I’m in my mid 20’s and all of a sudden two weeks ago after I came from jogging and my hip started hurting when I woke up. It went away after three days but it’s back now.
I'm 29 and I have pain in my right hip towards the back when I walk but it flares up randomly some times doesn't have issues for months and then it's almost impossible to walk. I did the stretches and my back has nothing to do with it. No idea what it is and it's been off and on for probably 5 pluss years
I got a cortisone shot in my hip for bursitis. I thought it got worse and have lower back pain. Doctor ordered another 2 MRI's... I really hate that machine. I'm claustrophobic and I was in there for half an hour. I think my torn labrum is rubbing the bone because its a pressure when standing, or sitting, but not as much when walking or laying down. I'm only 38 but am very afraid of the arthritis and not being able to live pain free. I don't want to have to take any pills and have been trying to walk long distances for 1-2 hours, stretching afterwards then a hot soak in epsom salts. It seems to numb the pain from walking but I'm thinking that the FAI impingement is just grinding down and I'm getting numb from that. Now after seeing what you guys said, it might be my lower back and not just the hip.
My left hip seems to lock and sometimes painful in the hip joint. I relieve it by standing and placing my hands on my desk and lifting myself - stretching my lower back. My lower back pops and the paint stops in my hip. I do this about 2 or 3 times a day. And while stretching and lifting myself in the same position I'll twist my pelvis and my left hip pops a few times and will feel like it "unlocks". And my hip pain and the "locked" hip feeling goes away for a while. Not sure why all this is happening. And periodically I'll be walking and my both my lower legs get numb. When the numbing occurs I'll find a place to do the same stretches of lifting myself and popping my lower back - and the numbness goes away. I do have arthritis in my hips and some in the lower back -but that doesn't hurt too often but once or twice a month. I do sit a lot at work for many years and I'm guessing my lower back has gotten week. What do you think Bob & Brad?

Thank you, my hips burn on the side when I try to go for a walk. I believe it is bursitis as I go for back adjustments regularly. Do you recommend particular exercise to alleviate or fix bursitis in the hips. Or perhaps diet restriction or particular foods.
I've had pain for 6 months straight it's about a 8 on a scale from 1-10. The doctor told me it's burstitis and give me exercise to help but it didn't work! After seeing this video I've realised the pain is in my lower back and just feels like it's my hip! I used to do a lot of exercises and lift weights but never had a incident that was specific to this so I'm confused! Getting a doctors appointment in the UK is a nightmare even if you go private! It's unbearable now I don't know what to do. Paracetamol does not work in asthmatic so can't take ibuprofen any suggestions I don't want to be dependent on pain killers all my life! Help plz

Hi Dr's, I have terrible pain in the back of my left hip, after five minutes of being on my feet the pain is terrible it is debilitating, can you help me at all, do I need a hip replacement.
My hip really hurts when I lay on my side in bed, I have to sleep on my front or back now! I have been advised to get an X-ray. I have had steroid injections & physiotherapy in the past.. is there anything else you could recommend please?
General question for the professionals, and the audience... My brother was diagnosed with avascular necrosis, extreme pain in the hips.. but the doctors in my area aren't the brightest.. Quick to assume based on regional averages I'm guessing? But from the MRI there is a lot of fluid surrounding the hip socket on his left side.. Could it be bed sores? He's not obese, but for a few years did sit down a lot with very minimal physical activity. Just turned 30. Can move his leg, but it's extremely irritated, and one day I had to carry him in from the drive way from the pain. MRI did not seem to show any bone degeneration or collapsed blood vessels.. but I'm not a medical professional. I saw a lot of white fluid surrounding the hip. Any ideas? And more importantly, any solutions? We're in the waiting phase from referral to referral and referral... I'd just like to help if I can. Thank you, I hope you all have a good day. -Shawn
had half a year ago ankle broken, had no surgery only a cest. after they took it away and i could take my aircast too, my leg hat was short 1,5-2CM due to previous hip surgery prevented me from learning to walk again , my question whatto do know ? will I walk again ?
I'm 20, this been happening since I was about 14, Every time I run I feel something pull in my lower left back/hip and I can barely feel it but when I start looking down it hurts. The more I kook down the more it hurts! But when I jump and land kind of hard on my feet it goes away, I been doing this daily
Hi guys....I was excited to hear the Dr. on the right, at the beginning show a swipe down the groin area (which is where mine is) and he said that that 'was something else' but I had never heard what it was. I really need to know please! Before this debilitating pain happened....my hip CLICKED when I stepped on it for months, but that stopped for a couple of months then WHAM!!!!.........one day.
I noticed when I was massaging my fiancé’s back, the kneeling position set it off. As soon and I got off her back it was INSTANT EXCRUCIATING pain that lasted for 5-10 mins even laying down. Maybe bursitis? I’ve had MRI scans but the nhs are yet to provide results
This is great! I am really worried about having arthritis on my hips, but it always comes with pain right in the spine, exactly where you pointed at! I had that back ache for years. It just comes and goes. Now i have pain whether i stand or sit, but more when i sit. Even my buttocks hurts, but i thought it goes straight deep into the joint and that's why i was worrying about arthritis. I tested all the movements you show in your other video and rotation is fine, although ingear a few noises sometimes...
Thanks Bob and Brad. I'm having pain in my hip and lower back. And now I can't feel both side of my hip bone. It feels numb and my knees keep giving way when my collapse then get bk up then collapse again. This has in the middle of the road when cars are heading my way.
I think I may have a combo possibly of 3. This video just put bursitis on the radar for me. THE SORENESS BECAME IMMENSE all in one day after work (bending & lifting & moving heavy items fully extended above my head). Something had been noticeable for maybe 3months now but pretty manageable, on this day when I left it seemed regular to my last 3months- but my hour drive home ,when I got out of the car..... the circumstances were really elevated. By the time I was ready for bed I had full on fire in my side. When I awoke at 1a.m. I had to figure out how I was going to sleep. It's the side I favor laying on and now I can't even move it to turn to get in a different position- I wound up makeshifting something to elevate my leg and I fell asleep quickly ,I think just the relief of pain allowed my exhaustion to take over. I looked at videos trying to figure out what to do and exacerbated the inflammation by trying to do hip stretches...fast forward to now I've learned what not to do, I can walk without dragging my leg by the pants, it's slowly seemingly healing but I'm distant from any of the driving or work I normally do. Will now attempt icing and look for bursitis remedy.
What if you're younger. I fell on a hill side of cobble and landed straight to my hip... I couldn't walk comfortable for a week, and now 5 years later it's starting to give me ping pains. May it be fractured?
Hi.👋🙂 I recently turned 50 years young. I'm a dance teacher and moderately/highly active. I only have the outer hip pain on my left side when I sit in a car.🙄 It is IN. SANE. and often radiates to my foot. Any idea? Thinking arthritis. I have a road trip from VA to Ohio this week due to a death in the family. Ugh. Any suggestions? Thank you!💃💞
Years ago I had a needle punctured into my left hip joint with some numbing medicine and then sent directly in to have an xray or mri (cant remember which) just after they told me I was missing a ligament most like born that way and my other hip probably the same. Recently, I've been having the start of that same pain. I'm guessing it's slipping outwards or something. It feels like it's out of place somewhat catching when I stand, sit or walk each causes its own pain driving for any long period is the worst for sure. How can I get back to normal?😢
Hi guys great video! I have pain on my left hip when I stand on one leg using my left or basically when I put weight on my left leg. I also have pain on my left hip when I walk. It’s mild pain. Can this be si joint pain or a small fracture? Please I need help. I’m from the Philippines and my parents can’t afford to get me a physical therapist here in the us. I would really appreciate your help. Thanks.
About six months ago I fell hard on my left knee on concrete. About a week later my left leg was so sore where it joins with my hip that I was limping and could barely walk. The pain has travelled into my groin and down my inner calfs at times. To date, I have seen doctors, osteopaths, and a kinesiotherapists, and no one can give me relief. Xrays show arthritis in my lower back and hips (I'm told) but why would this pain only start after falling? I wonder if I have a fracture and none of these medical professionals has seen it. I don't know any longer what to do or whom to ask.
Sir i have pain in my both groin and right side of glute mid area over a year. Both Groin pain comes when i squat and Right mid glute pain starts when i Perform deadlift. So can you tell me the reason for this pain
Hi. I would like to appreciate you great videos, i love them. I have been suffering pain in my right side hip (upper leg) during excersice whenever i do the side movements. This pain never appears when doing smooth jogging. I have consulted orthopedic doctor and after x-ray every thing looks normal but still having pain. Could you plz advice what to do to get relief as i cant play my favorite football game? Thank you
Another very helpful video, thank you so much!! Any idea why pain in the lower back- actually top of buttocks- start hurting while walking on treadmill? Been walking for months on incline 2 for months and suddenly ouch. Walking outside no problem but treadmill even on 0 incline now painful. What's the difference? Video? Thanks! 😊
For anyone wondering 7 years on.. It's because, on a treadmill, the ground doesn't change as it does outside. It's repetitive movement over and over. Treadmills are bad, I sold mine.

I have started to do hip stretches for a few weeks and have started to get sharp pain even though the stretches I do are good and not bad for me
Ik its late but u might of gained a tear...but I have the same issue so idrk
Thank you for this video! I now know what Bursitis and am pretty confident that ANOTHER trip to ANOTHER doctor is probably not necessary! Thank you
My wife had her hip pain since October 2022 until now. Both side pain from hip and down to thighs. Despite the MRI scan shows no sign of hips problems we are still seeking specialist to investigate where’s the hip pain related to? Any advise would appreciate. Thxs
Very informative guys....thanks a lot. Gained much valuable info from this one
46 years old and u diagnosed this.. damn it. Just started 2 weeks ago, excruciating pain at times
Awesome video helped me so much . . .
I'm 29 and I have pain in my right hip towards the back when I walk but it flares up randomly some times doesn't have issues for months and then it's almost impossible to walk. I did the stretches and my back has nothing to do with it. No idea what it is and it's been off and on for probably 5 pluss years
thank you
Thank you!
Thank you for this video. It helped me a lot.
Only 1 minute of a youtube video, and I learned the pain isn’t from my hip. Thank you!!
If there is no injury, most of the hip pain comes from emotions: study dr. Gert Ryke Hamer _ German medicine or see what yoga specialists are telling about the emotions in the hip!!!
I injured around that area from doing heavy leg press is there any thing I can do to heal an fix it?
You guys are great! Thanks so much for the information 👍
Thank you, my hips burn on the side when I try to go for a walk. I believe it is bursitis as I go for back adjustments regularly. Do you recommend particular exercise to alleviate or fix bursitis in the hips. Or perhaps diet restriction or particular foods.
Check your vitamin C intake. It may be scurvy
Help plz
Hi..u find any solution plzz share with me my problem also same...
Yes righ I have back pain long time but i have never seen Hips Pain like this last 1 year, so i would like to know what to change my back pain???? From uk London
Hi Dr's,
I have terrible pain in the back of my left hip, after five minutes of being on my feet the pain is terrible it is debilitating, can you help me at all, do I need a hip replacement.

Bob n Brad are very good👍👍👍👍👍👍
Hi guys....I was excited to hear the Dr. on the right, at the beginning show a swipe down the groin area (which is where mine is) and he said that that 'was something else' but I had never heard what it was. I really need to know please! Before this debilitating pain happened....my hip CLICKED when I stepped on it for months, but that stopped for a couple of months then WHAM!!!!.........one day.
Can it be Bursitis when it started suddenly? Did a 5k run two days ago but was fine initially
What would effect Hip extension and internal rotation ?
I'm waiting!! Just say what it is..then watch hr video.
Thanks a ton! you both are great!
Thank you great man! In fact I sit hours in front of my PC at work and in odd positions, I realise, very often. Thank you and salutations from the UK!
Excellent. Thanks
When I take First step while getting up from sitting position it hurts in groins. After talking few steps it Ok please advise exercise. Thanks
It radiates!
What about if the pain subsides when I’ll lay on the bed, on my back, and bring my legs towards my chest?
Very much thank you
Hi guys great video!
Where could I find you ! I need ur help very much

Thank you
We’re twins because I have the same problem and I also can’t play football
Another very helpful video, thank you so much!! Any idea why pain in the lower back- actually top of buttocks- start hurting while walking on treadmill? Been walking for months on incline 2 for months and suddenly ouch. Walking outside no problem but treadmill even on 0 incline now painful. What's the difference? Video? Thanks! 😊
+physicaltherapy
Thank you for responding! This makes perfect sense. 😌
For anyone wondering 7 years on..
It's because, on a treadmill, the ground doesn't change as it does outside. It's repetitive movement over and over. Treadmills are bad, I sold mine.
Thanks so much the video really did help!
