Nice video. I cant sit cross legged with my left leg (Starts paining), supposedly there is a discomfort on the groin, no pain otherwise. What could be the diagnosis. I am on heavier side weighing 85 kg 160 cm aged 39 F and from India. Using two wheeler for last five years only. Could it be the reason or something else.

Man, I just turned 31. I had a baby 10 months ago. I carry him a lot. I wake up in pain every day. I can’t walk for long periods of time. This is not what I want for myself at this stage in life. Everybody please take care of yourselves and don’t take your body for granted. You could wake up and not be the same as yesterday 🥺

Thanks guys for a good explanation of hip pain- I think mine is from bursitis- hurts when getting up from sitting, and after a drive in the car...much pain when putting weight on that leg and stiffness and it gets slightly better with movement. Does bursitis ever get better?

Thanks, Bob and Brad. Good job in short time. I'm 70 yrs old and a lifelong runner, former world-class. I've been training to break the 5K world record for my age. I'm smart and don't overdo it. Everything was going just fine, and I was running/training from 3 miles to 6 miles, sometimes more, three days on and one day off. Then, I got out of bed one morning a month ago and had pain above my hip, sore to the touch. It just came out of nowhere. I've had x-rays and an MRI, but everything appears ok. The docs think it may be bursitis. My running was going fine - no pain anywhere, no pulls, etc. It's getting me down.

Not sure if it'd be bursitis or not considering that it's on the posterior side. Just trying to see if anyone has had similar issues. Might take this week off from the gym and just let it rest.

Thanks to you both. This was very instructional. I fractured my 3rd Lumbar Vertebra in 2014 and have a lot of referred pain on my right hip. On top of that the right hip isn't in the fullness of youth anyway so that's a bit of a double whammy. I have a lot of trouble straightening up after sitting down for than 10 minutes and I tend to hobble until the whole shebang re-aligns itself, so to speak.

I've had pain for 6 months straight it's about a 8 on a scale from 1-10. The doctor told me it's burstitis and give me exercise to help but it didn't work! After seeing this video I've realised the pain is in my lower back and just feels like it's my hip! I used to do a lot of exercises and lift weights but never had a incident that was specific to this so I'm confused! Getting a doctors appointment in the UK is a nightmare even if you go private! It's unbearable now I don't know what to do. Paracetamol does not work in asthmatic so can't take ibuprofen any suggestions I don't want to be dependent on pain killers all my life! Help plz

Also poor so I got 2 decade old pillows udder my butt when I lay down to take pressure off of it. I think when I lay down my hip pushes in the bed to deep & then the weight from everywhere else weighs in the dip in my bed and pushes on my hip with extra weight. I'm too young for this.

My left hip seems to lock and sometimes painful in the hip joint. I relieve it by standing and placing my hands on my desk and lifting myself - stretching my lower back. My lower back pops and the paint stops in my hip. I do this about 2 or 3 times a day. And while stretching and lifting myself in the same position I'll twist my pelvis and my left hip pops a few times and will feel like it "unlocks".
And my hip pain and the "locked" hip feeling goes away for a while. Not sure why all this is happening. And periodically I'll be walking and my both my lower legs get numb. When the numbing occurs I'll find a place to do the same stretches of lifting myself and popping my lower back - and the numbness goes away.
I do have arthritis in my hips and some in the lower back -but that doesn't hurt too often but once or twice a month.
I do sit a lot at work for many years and I'm guessing my lower back has gotten week. What do you think Bob & Brad?

I am seeking some insight.. I have degenerative disc disease, herniated disc between my L4 and L5, and spinal stinoisis (spelling?).. when I went to see the surgeon about my back she suggested that my pain in my hip (which most days is 8-9) may be bursitis and not sciatica. when I asked about a shot for this my pain management doctor was very rude and said basically the other specialist I saw was full of crap.. recently, my sister has been diagnosed with hip dysplasia and I read it could be genetic.. my hip pops out of place. I walk with a limp.. this has been like this for years..my pain is 80% my hip in my lower extremities.. how do i get someone to take my hip pain as a legit pain and not an extension of my back trouble? And if you was me would you asks the doctor to look into the hip pain?

Thanks Gentlemen! I had a L4/L5 discectomy 39 years ago with little or no issues whatsoever. I’m now 53 and have been extremely active for all of those 39 years without taking any meds or than an occasional ibuprofen. But, in just the past 2 years I’ve been experiencing severe pain in my hip areas. In the “exact” same spots on the port and starboard sides of my hips. I recently went I a top rated chiropractor and had Xrays to look at my spine and disc areas. No sign of arthritis anywhere and the holes on the vertebrae than carry the nerves. You can’t even tell I had the disc shaved. So all lower discs and vertebra look normal. But occasionally when I’m just walking or push my lawnmower and that pain kicks in it is Crippling and my legs and feet feel as if they each weight 1,000 lbs. Help Me Please?!?

Hi.👋🙂 I recently turned 50 years young. I'm a dance teacher and moderately/highly active. I only have the outer hip pain on my left side when I sit in a car.🙄 It is IN. SANE. and often radiates to my foot.
Any idea? Thinking arthritis. I have a road trip from VA to Ohio this week due to a death in the family. Ugh. Any suggestions?
    Thank you!💃💞

Great stuff gents, making me see thing abit clearer for my wife hip pain, she has hip pain for three months and has been taking pain killer ever since and the doctor said all blood test and X-ray came back normal and only suggested to see physiotherapist regularly. I think her hip pain may related to back rather than hip. Thank you for a great video 👍

I noticed when I was massaging my fiancé’s back, the kneeling position set it off. As soon and I got off her back it was INSTANT EXCRUCIATING pain that lasted for 5-10 mins even laying down.
Maybe bursitis? I’ve had MRI scans but the nhs are yet to provide results

Hello, we have seen one other reason for hip pain, my mother had excruciating hip pain, orthopedic surgeon found no fracture etc,But she had MRSA and they think it went into hip, after 8weeks on antibiotic drip, she is now beginning to walk with an aid. hopefully I'll be able to apply some of your light exercises shortly.

I got a cortisone shot in my hip for bursitis. I thought it got worse and have lower back pain. Doctor ordered another 2 MRI's... I really hate that machine. I'm claustrophobic and I was in there for half an hour. I think my torn labrum is rubbing the bone because its a pressure when standing, or sitting, but not as much when walking or laying down. I'm only 38 but am very afraid of the arthritis and not being able to live pain free. I don't want to have to take any pills and have been trying to walk long distances for 1-2 hours, stretching afterwards then a hot soak in epsom salts. It seems to numb the pain from walking but I'm thinking that the FAI impingement is just grinding down and I'm getting numb from that. Now after seeing what you guys said, it might be my lower back and not just the hip.

It's been over a year now, i feel like my left hip dislocated. Lying in bed on my right side my left foot wants to point up. In a lot of pain most of the time. Can barely walk. But im still working a 40-hour job on my feet. Back in September 6th 2021 an old injury to my right ankle resurfaced. Been limping on it since. The limping on the right side seems to have caused the left hip to act up.

General question for the professionals, and the audience... My brother was diagnosed with avascular necrosis, extreme pain in the hips.. but the doctors in my area aren't the brightest.. Quick to assume based on regional averages I'm guessing? But from the MRI there is a lot of fluid surrounding the hip socket on his left side.. Could it be bed sores? He's not obese, but for a few years did sit down a lot with very minimal physical activity. Just turned 30. Can move his leg, but it's extremely irritated, and one day I had to carry him in from the drive way from the pain. MRI did not seem to show any bone degeneration or collapsed blood vessels.. but I'm not a medical professional. I saw a lot of white fluid surrounding the hip. Any ideas? And more importantly, any solutions? We're in the waiting phase from referral to referral and referral... I'd just like to help if I can. Thank you, I hope you all have a good day. -Shawn

I'm 34, this pain just started a couple months ago, it's only in my right hip. I actually had to do that foot motion like you're putting a cigarette out, at my job. So the pain happens if I sit cross-legged and try to lean back. It doesn't hurt any other time of day, only if I try to sit cross-legged and I'm leaning back

Years ago I had a needle punctured into my left hip joint with some numbing medicine and then sent directly in to have an xray or mri (cant remember which) just after they told me I was missing a ligament most like born that way and my other hip probably the same. Recently, I've been having the start of that same pain. I'm guessing it's slipping outwards or something. It feels like it's out of place somewhat catching when I stand, sit or walk each causes its own pain driving for any long period is the worst for sure. How can I get back to normal?😢

About six months ago I fell hard on my left knee on concrete. About a week later my left leg was so sore where it joins with my hip that I was limping and could barely walk. The pain has travelled into my groin and down my inner calfs at times. To date, I have seen doctors, osteopaths, and a kinesiotherapists, and no one can give me relief. Xrays show arthritis in my lower back and hips (I'm told) but why would this pain only start after falling? I wonder if I have a fracture and none of these medical professionals has seen it. I don't know any longer what to do or whom to ask.

i am 24 years old weigh 85 and 6 feet tall. I have stiffness in my lower Back and acute pain in my hip down to the ankle. Most of the time my leg is unable to support me so I stumbled. But after walking a while it just became irritation in the hip and hamstring. The most excruciating pain happens when I bloat, it is just to much then and then I am not able to move a inch. So what is my problem? If u can help me a little please.

I have had a herniated disc in my back for a very long time. I recently lost 40 pounds rapidly via the Keto diet and I was very active with my kids providing camp support for 5 intense days (walking and lifting heavy bikes while camping in a tent). Hip started to bug me and upon coming home, now it aches bad with #2 that they mentioned. Not sure if my rapid weight loss played a role in shifting my physiology as I had a very tight left psoas muscle for a very long time but got better as I lost weight.

    Guys this will be strange..
I unfortunately spent 6 months in a mental hospital in uk .
It was very abusive .I lost 40 kilos in there .
One morning I woke and had been injected or similar procedure where every joint in my bedy was affected .
Particularly great pain on the bottom of spine.
Have you any idea what was injected into me or sucked out of me to create a similar reaction as rheumatism .in all my joints .
It sounds nuts I know but it’s true .
