i never really got why people thought this show was racist. it just kind of calls out certain behaviors...

Well, it sets up a stereotype all whites are racist and that African-Americans can storm into these stereotypical white racist places and just destroy it all and that African-Americans get to have special privileges. Imagine if whites send a message titled "dear black people" imagine the outrage. It further tries to forward the point that blacks can send these "racist" messages and whites can't.

first off, did you actually watch the show? it doesn't set that stereotype up
also this show DID elicit outrage so what's your point?

I mean yeah ppl disliked this show, but if say I went ahead and announced my new series dear black people, i probably would get death threats, massive protests, kinda like when Trump got inaugurated. And plus, doesn't set up stereotypes? Its set up in a mostly white Ivy League school with a minority of blacks, that in itself is a stereotype, next it has white students dressing up as blacks as if they thought they were better than them. It then has black ppl walk into a party and throw everything around and then the cops show up. Thats reinforcing black stereotypes of how they are uncontrollable, always angry, and u always need the cops cause they r all criminals. Then the main character starts cussing cause someone accidentally insulted you, another black stereotype that they are easily angered. Then she has to keep her relationship with a white guy hidden cause apparently, blacks arnt supposed to be with their "oppressors" You have her friends abandon her because she dated a white guy, jesus.
Then you have blacks saying "This is racism" or "I dont feel safe" Thats a stereotype that
      1, All blacks are liberals
2, All liberals (blacks) are sensitive and easily triggered and need safe spaces because they are sensitive.
Then the main character states some "fact" about how blacks get incarcerated more even though the department of justice shows that 12% of the population is black yet 50% of homicides r committed by blacks. Going to show the stereotype liberals (blacks) don't research facts.
      I can keep going.

the only way the argument "If I made a show called Dear Black People I'd get death threats" can work is if you willfully don't understand that black people still experience oppression at the hands of white people. Not all white people, but enough that it's still a problem virtually all black people face, and face to a much more severe extent than white people do.
It sets up a mostly white Ivy League school for two reasons
      1) the point of the show is to examine how black students deal with being in schools/other institutions that are mostly white. It'd make no sense for the show to be set in a school with a different demographic breakdown
      2) the majority of colleges in the US are majority white. you complain about messed up statistics later (i think, it's super unclear grammatically) so how can you then also complain about this when it's an accurate representation?
Yes it has white students dress in blackface, like in the movie. This is based on what is basically an annual scandal at this point, it happens often in real life. The black students are justifiably mad, but not all of them are trashing the party. Sam is filming, Coco attended the party, Troy called the cops. That's three of the main black characters who didn't participate in that kind of behavior, which means the show was demonstrating nuance, the exact opposite of stereotyping.
When the main character "starts cussing cause someone accidentally insulted you (assuming the "you" should be "her)" it's not "another black stereotype that they are easily angered" it's showing that she has to deal with this behavior so often that sometimes it does get under her skin. She's insulted multiple times every episode and rarely lashes out.
Her friends never abandon her because she's dating Gabe. She's worried about telling them and her friend Reggie, who has a crush on her is hurt because, well, he has a crush on her. But other than that none of her friends actually leave her. They're more upset that she kept it a secret than anything.
Black people calling out racist behavior and saying they don't feel safe isn't creating a stereotype that all black people are liberal. idk how you can even come to this conclusion, are conservatives really so blindly racist that they think nothing is racist? If not, then a black conservative can still think something is racist/feel unsafe.
That's not even going into the fact that the organizations highlighted in the show do lend themselves to more liberal people, so it'd make sense if they were more liberal. But again, calling out racism doesn't automatically make them liberal unless you have a really poor opinion of conservatives. It also doesn't make them easily triggered, they usually have pretty good reason. Blackface is racist, idk what to tell you.
like I said before, your last point about whatever stat is just about unreadable, idk what you're even saying.

Just found you earlier and you have great videos. I think you deserve way more subs, the only thing I can kinda see playing against you is your delivery, like its not bad but its the only thing out of the vids Ive seen that could be improved. I dont know how to tell you to improve it, and Im sure it isnt your pacing, the pacing is great imo. A newer vid of yours that I saw earlier definitely has improvements already, I guess you may need to get more comfortable with it but idk, Im not you. Just seeing how long you have been uploading this quality analysis type content and how little traction sub wise you have gotten hurts me, you deserve more.

There might not be so much controversy around it if they had a different title. It's ridiculously condescending.
