    I liked the video but to say the show tackles the subject of crime is a huge stretch to say the least. His phone being stolen is not even about theft, it's about him not being able to call the girl now. Other than that I enjoyed the analysis. It's really well done although I feel like everyone nowadays if they want to make a video essay they have it to make it like nerdwriter or every frame a painting.

    • @adonsawchuk9787
      @adonsawchuk9787 6 лет назад +4

      The entirety of him meeting the girl was brought up to convey the rest of the story while bring the theft into it. Most comedians will do something along this, they start with a punchline or topic and build off of it to make it funny or to make it relevant.

    I wrote my BA thesis on Master of None and the portrayal of American national identity. The idea came to me when I couldn't describe the series to a friend: what is MON really about? I thought: hey, my whole life I've been bombarded with this idea of a white upper class American and this series is telling me that Americaness takes different forms, different bodies. This is worth analysing. MON excels in its portrayal of multicultural America. It's a master piece.

    I like how this series always references films more obviously like Annie Hall and Bicycle Thieves, but the vignette episode was a complete homage to Slackers. They could have just named it Slackers: The NYC Edition.

    This shows like the classy kid in the room
    Compared to many sitcoms or dramedies this is more stylistic because it's so simple and gorgeous allowing you to focus on the details and dialogue more and that's what I love about it the writing is honest when it comes to realistic engagement with people like your parents it's short talk that's sort of awkward and interesting as well as holding such a good soundtrack it's a masterpiece for sure after the pilot it is where the show becomes it's own and it's genius
    Also Devs dad is the best

She used the MeToo movement to smear his name and say he convinced her to go down on him, so she felt violated. She wasn’t intoxicated or anything, just a grown woman making a choice she later regretted.
