I think one aspect of Hsieh that has not been acknowledged by many, is her ability to take the pressure off her partners. Often times when they are losing, she would tell her partners to smile or do/say something to make them laugh. Like she said in the Roland-Garros final press conference, she told Wang after they were down 6-1 in the first set: “It’s ok even if we lose, we still have the plate!”. The team energy is really important in doubles, if one player is feeling down, it’s important to keep them relaxed till they find back their tennis. Siniakova was nearly going crazy during the semis and Hunter wasn’t really doing much to help her with that. I think the fact that Hsieh is taking everything in her stride, and not expecting to win, is the reason why she could be so successful with so many different partners as of late, especially when she made her comeback after her injury.
Su-Wei is SUCH A DELIGHT to watch! She was SUPERB as a Singles Player as well. Hope she returns to playing in Singles Tournaments again. She has the EXPERTISE AND ATTITUDE TO WIN in ANY match!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!
Hsieh is biggest gem of tennis. She and Bahrami are best things on tennis. She will be missed in singles but i am so happy that she won both Grandslam finals.
Hsieh is such a humble soul, whether she loses or wins she still acknowledges the opponent. Also, since she can’t really generate a lot of power, Hsieh had practiced for years to be able to hit the ball in ways that make the opponent struggle. You can tell that her serves are abnormally low and has tons of spin, this includes with returning serves. She hits the ball really fast back to the opponent before they can get ready to hit.
I randomly found her a few years back while browsing other courts on espn app. So happy that I found her and now a forever. I hope Hsieh wins more slams this year and wins US Open to complete career slam
what makes me admire suwei is her personality of laughing and enjoy games. esepcially givn her story that growing under a toxic (amlost borderline abuse) tranining envrioment under his father as a coach, so bad she even disconnected with his father for a long while and fighting games alone, living on prize money, and just try to survive with little ( or none)resource. if i were her, i might have been a cynical person, and so serious about wining. but instead, she becomes what she is now , and still winning GS. what a legend
I just cannot fathom anyone turning down Hsieh's requests to play doubles, she just naturally attracts trophies and she has a playing style like no other. Not to mention she is an absolute delight on and off the court. Legend!
When Su-wei first came to the spotlight in tennis I knew she was special. So chilled and nonchalant she's such a likeable person. Out of all the tennis players I would love to have dinner with her and Aryna Sabalenka. What fun we'd have! Elise has mastered being in doubles returning balls like no other, this is her year too!
A great team and they have so much fun. Hsieh has such a great outlook and great sense of humor. Hope we will see them pair up for the slams and 1000. this year,
5:00 how dare people refuse to play with Hsieh on her comeback? Wang is the lucky one cause she got her first slam title with Hsieh, and the other girls who refuse Hsieh must be feel so disappointed right now lol
By Rolland Garos I assume most top doubles players were already partnered up for the year. I also assume no one had that much faith in a recently unretired Hsieh who was going to break the partnership come Wimbledon anyway, but her win with Wang was an amazing run and kind of underrated.
Su-Wei always fun to watch. She so adept at controlling power and finesse. Funny how Elise was talking about handling the power from ostapenko, su-Wei is says the power doesn’t bother her from the men in mixed doubles or the women. If you watch her play, her cross court shots don’t go to the same side of the player every time. Most times when you watch doubles cross court hitting, both players are hit the same shot, either backhands or forehands. Su-Wei makes them alternate sides. Very tricky player. Lobs unbelievably well.
@Jkan2001 Su Wei Hsieh is an accomplished doubles player. No one can take anything away from that. She deserves all the attention she is getting. She has won Grand Slam with everyone almost or all partners she has played with.
Well, Mertens is definitely one of the best doubles players. But Hsieh has won doubles grand slams with Peng Shuai, Strycova, Wang Xinyu, as well as the mixed doubles title this time.
Leave her alone bro, it's valid for her to feel that, to be groofy, it's called positivity, im sure she doesnt need random yt man to guide her how she should act
That only shows you don't understand her humor. She's a champion and enjoying herself, why not saying some goffy things and laughing? That doesn't mean she's weird. You're the one who's weird.
Su-wei is such a darling. So full of life and always ready to laugh at herself. Amazing human. Congratulations for another GS trophy.

Mixed doubles and now the Womens doubles, Su-Wei is just adding to her count! Such a personality and so humble too!
Love how Hsieh is so relaxed and carefree, hope she wins more slam titles!
I really love Su Wei's energy and positivity. Just enjoying playing tennis, and we are expecting Hsieh to win more❤
I hope Hsieh can play another 38 years! So fun to watch her off and on the court. And Elise is the best partner for her… of course Barbora too.
Hope su wei could keep play til she's 76
Why not 60 ?
Hsieh is keeping alive the crafty, feel-based style that has all but disappeared in tennis. She is a treasure!
Elise is so graceful in this press conference. Very deserving return to #1 in doubles
Su-wey is ❤️ such a wonderful person and player.
Su wei is so positive and fun to watch. I would have loved to see more of her in the singles but she is doing amazing! Congratulations 🎉
Hsieh is biggest gem of tennis. She and Bahrami are best things on tennis. She will be missed in singles but i am so happy that she won both Grandslam finals.
Love to see her and Bahami mixed doubles match. As a team.

Hsieh Su-wei is such a legend. We are so lucky to still be able to see her play

Doubles means 2 players joining forces!
Give Mertens too the attention and glory she deserves.
Su-wei Hsieh is amazing, her control ball as magic, hard, soft, low & high, she just touch ball freely, I wish she Wii gain grand slam title more.

❤ Hsu Wei.. very humbled and so fun to watch her on and off the court
Hsieh su-wei giving country girl vibes, having the time of her life and so are those fortunate enough to watch her do what she does best.
Suwei is a legend
A great team and they have so much fun. Hsieh has such a great outlook and great sense of humor. Hope we will see them pair up for the slams and 1000. this year,
It’s not easy for Su Wei to get this , she come from a not rich family. But she stay happy and positive all the time
Congrats Hsieh! Really proud of you! You are amazing !
Su Wei so cute❤
You are Perfect partner ,
I give you Double congratulations ~
These two women are wonderful and such a good team players, God bless them !!!
Omg never laughed so hard on a press conference! Su Wei is hilarious. Definitely want her on your side on court 😂

I love Su Wei. She's such a boss! I love it!
Hsieh is getting a lot of the attention but honestly she couldn’t have won this without such a solid partner in Elise who has awesome ground strokes.
@Jkan2001 Su Wei Hsieh is an accomplished doubles player. No one can take anything away from that. She deserves all the attention she is getting. She has won Grand Slam with everyone almost or all partners she has played with.
They are a team.
I think both of them cannot win this tournament without each other.
They all deserve it.

Y Mertens sin ella
Su-Wei! Congratulations!
Love Su-Wei and Mertens has a great attitude also. They are playing together for a reason. No reason they cannot win all the Slams together!
Mixed double and now women double, congra love u
Great these players like Osapenko, playing doubles also.
Su-wei is awesome.

The Lucy and Ethel of tennis❤
this girl is sooo crazy! never knew that! reminds me of Li Na! What a shame she will retire sooner rather than later.
why, martina played doubles to what 50?
Winning makes it more fun
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
A press conference with only 2 journalists (Courtney Nguyen & Ben Rothenburg both Hsieh stans) asking questions. 🙇♀🙇
🏆
Has AO failed to promote that Hsieh actually rewrite the record of winning 2 double champagnes in one grand slam??
Is it a record for any player, winning two double grand slam in a single tournament?
Martina Navratilova won singles, doubles, and mixed at the 1987 US open...
@@nn3444 Billie Jean won all three twice at Wimbledon in 67 and 73 and the US Open in 67, Margaret Court US open 1970.
People actually rejected Hsieh? Say what!?!?
It’s normal when she hasn’t played for almost 2 years. It’s expensive to lose in R1 even prize money isn’t huge in Doubles but it’s income.

I'm so proud of Hsieh. I just wish she can be a bit more serious when answering questions in the interview. Maybe it's language problem?
No, it's just her characters, she answer the questions with laugh and no pressure
Leave her alone bro, it's valid for her to feel that, to be groofy, it's called positivity, im sure she doesnt need random yt man to guide her how she should act
Why does she need to be more serious. She is a 38 year old playing a freakin game and she realizes it. Lighten up

謝淑薇 you are so dope
Su Wie is the only one laughing at what she thinks is funny - even though not everything she says is funny. Kind of weird.
Leave her alone, let her be happy and be positive thats matter, no yt men should complain that about her

When none of the people in the room including her doubles partner do not laugh at many of her jokes - that’s a good sign she’s not that funny.
