Soft Glam is my absolute favorite.
SAME! CColorcosmetics has a dupe for it for 8$ so I thought why not I will buy it just to see if it is even remotelyl close.... its called the Prestige pallet. I LOVE IT ALSO! Still love mt Soft Glam the best but was very impressed on how well and similar the Prestige pallet was.www.ccolorcosmetics.com/collections/eyes/products/prestige just attached the link just that you could take a look at how close it is to the real thing. They have also duped the Sultry and the Modern Renaissance. I bought all 3 and love all 3 lol. But still am a HUGE ABH fan.... the dupes are just great back ups for when I am not wanting to go through my ABH so fast.
I'm going against the grain & say I love the Norvina pallete. The soft glam looked too peachy undertones in most of the colors & I like to be able to do peach, pink, purple & more neutral & the norvina does that for me. I love this pallete & reach for it the most.
JJ me too and everyone freaks out about the “weird” or “unusual” colors but I can really make simple looks with it, really pinky rosy looks that look like soft glam or unique looks. And the formula is so great.

Guys.. Here A guy trying to give a birthday gift, so last year I gave her a morphe 35O2 pallete and she loved it because the color suit her best, and now I'm torn between Norvina and Soft Glam because:
Norvina was the number one pick because the versatile pallete is already there (morphe 35O2) and she still have enough to go for another year. Plus i think she always go with the 'safe' option, she is not experimenting and pushing herself to be creative enough. (IMO)
But i know she would like the colours of the Soft glam better, also it does suit her better. But i do not want the pallete to be redundant because again, she does have a morphe 35O2 with the similar color scheme. So... Help?
@@Kuroneko6235 I'm gonna say Norvina of course & I like to play it safe myself. If she already has another pallet with soft glam colors, get norvina. You still can do neutral warm looks from this. Even if she didnt like the cooler tones, she could mix & warm them up. To me you can play with it more.

I was going to pick up Sultry, but i think I’m going to skip out and go for Soft Glam. It seems a little more wearable, and bonus...I’ll save $3 😉Thanks for your insight Risa!
TheHonestBeautyReview sultry also has chunky glitter that falls out and transfers. It doesn’t show in any swatches that I’ve seen so I got the pallet. That’s not for me, so it’s going back and I’m going with Soft Glam.

Depnialex Pakpahan get the norvina palette! like you said it would be redundant to get her basically the “same” palette... also i used to be the same with not wanting to try anything outside of my comfort zone until i forced myself to buy a colorful palette .. now i only want to do dramatic eyeshadow even when i shouldnt 😫 so i think if you got her norvina it would push her out of her comfort zone!
I don’t have a cool toned pallet and since I like the formulations in ABH I’m leaving toward buying Sultry after the review I’ve seen. You’re such a brilliant MUA, I don’t understand why you’re not on their PR.

I love norvina and will buy sultry. I love cool toned shades as I am overloaded with warm palettes.
I had both the Soft Glam and Modern Renaissance and got rid of both of them. I just never reached for them and a lot of the colors where out of my comfort zone (the oranges, reds, fuschias) . Call me boring! But the Sultry palette, I can see myself using every shade minus that odd Bloom color. I bought it yesterday and love it so far!
I would love to see a “best in brand” video. So if you had to buy/use one item from a brand what would that item be? Their eyeshadow, mascara, brow products, etc. I would love to start using some really high end products and would like to start with the brand’s best. Thank you love your channel!

That’s def a good idea. Most brands have one standout product. Like too faced has better than sex, ABH has Brow dip/brow wiz. It cosmetics has the CC Cream and bye bye redness etc.

Oh my gosh! You just helped me understand why sometimes my eyes get all puffed and watery . I never connected the dots about the red dye! Thank you! Now I get why I can wear some shadows from the same palette and be fine, but with different looks I would experience serious watering.

Sultry is my favorite. My eyes have a lot of grey in them so I wear grey eyeshadow almost every day, it's so difficult to find good grey eyeshadows!
Love how you compared the shimmer shades from Norvina/Soft Glam! I like my shimmers really vibrant and that influences my decision making for sure

I love my Sultry palette, and so sad that ABH didn’t make it permanent! I don’t have Norvina, and Soft Glam as none of them call my name, but Sultry is my everyday palette. It’s perfection.
It’s quite rare nowadays to find a beauty youtuber, who would actually give some useful advice to people, or who would spend some time to come up with a good material... That’s why I’m really glad I came across this video! Even though, I own three of these babes already and no advice would work for me when it comes to ABH shadow (help 🤣), I do think it can be useful for others. I bought all 3 within the last 2 months... Got Soft Glam and Norvina at the same time and loved them both to death. Then I got Sultry about a week ago. Don't regret a single cent.... These palettes are AMAZING. They all have strengths and weaknesses in different ways and they work brilliantly when mixed together. Love love looove ABH palettes

I’ve got all 3 of these palettes. I without a doubt love Sultry the most. I can get many looks from all of the palettes. It’s just something about Sultry. I always get tons of compliments every time I wear it.

The thing that sold me on slate in the sultry palette is that I feel like I see a bit of a warmth, almost a slight rosy pink halo, when you really buff it out.
I do enjoy slate to in the crease with just a bit of the matte ivory on the lid and noir as liner.
Eyeshadow junkie that I am I want all three!!! ABH eyeshadows are just so creamy and easy to blend. And they look gorgeous! Thanks for this review.
I have all of ABH’s palettes with the Velvet packaging & love them all. I find they each have their own color stories to make them special, but can be used together to change it up. I also love that they are small.. I’m tired of the huge palettes. I am definitely planning to pickup the Sultry palette, it is beautiful!
I don’t like really large palettes either. I agree, the ABH packaging is the perfect size.
I have all three . It’s hard to resist abh palettes. My favorite of all her palettes is subculture... 🍁🍂🍁 it’s just the perfect Autumn palette. Soft glam is wonderful 😍
Tracy Frederick I was hoping ABH would re formulate the Subculture and have the eyeshadows blend as well as MR. Really like subculture color story but hated the fallout and the BAM intensity that was hard for me to work with. I ended getting one of the dupes which I can handle better. But I would rebuy Subculture if the formula would change
Artist N Soul which dupe did you go with? I love my subculture for the color story, but it is so hard to work with!
Tiffany Doherty I have the Revolution reloaded (division) and the bad habit one. Revolution wins, it’s more buildable and blendable, not perfect but better than subculture and for $7 I’ll take it. The shimmery green is a bust though (which sucks) but the mattes are workable.
just buy the venus 2 or jefrey star androgyny for a better formula but similar colors to subculture
The new NYX Machinist Grind palette looks to be a decent Subculture near dupe, and it's been getting very good reviews.
I ❤ mid tone grey shadow. I have all 3 palettes and sultry is my favorite. I also love the coral shadow as a pop of color plus I can mix it to get a good transition color. Plus it does have the ability to have a day time look. The soft glam tends to look way to yellow on my skin.

HI Risa, I have all three of these palettes and I had the opposite reaction than you did with the four shades in right corner of Sultry - those four are what grabbed me :). they were different and I loved bloom, the grey and that ochre type color.I don't have a lot of grey in my collection, especially a shade that comes off the way this one does on the eye, and bloom to me is a great pop of color I work into my outer lid and sometimes my entire lid with less intensity and put a pretty lighter shimmer over it. I am a light medium/medium B40 in YSL Touche Elcat Foundation and it works well with my eye color (blue/Grey with a shift to green depending on my hair color). I really like all three of these and MR, and find they all fit well in my collection. If I could only keep one, it would probably be either MR or Soft Glam, most likely MR. Soft glam is to warm for me but I do use a few shades from it.
Your camera and lighting is so good. The palette colors are 100% accurate!
I have and love all three of these. I had Modern Renaissance but gave it away because it was too pink/red for my liking.

This was so helpful. I got the Sultry palette which is the only ABH palette that I have besides the Subculture palette. And actually these two palettes really work well together.

I have soft glam and norvina... but thanks to you I will skip sultry. I also have Naked 1 and combined with the shimmers from Norvina and tempera from Soft Glam I can make some nice cooler smokey looks for Christmas and New Years eve as well wich are not to dark for a pale skin. I don't mind when I'm at home to combine palletes. I think that that is part of the fun of having a stash.
I end up buying Sultry after reading, viewing and comparing....I love IT!
I chose Norvina due to the uniqueness of the shades, instead of another warm pallet. I love all the looks I have been able to come up with, pink, purples and warm. I find it very versatile

Marine Kaspaaryan did you end up getting sultry? If so I’d love to know how you’ve ended up liking it. I enjoy warm & cool tones - I too am fair w/ neutral tones - and am STILL pondering whether to pick it up before it’s gone for good (which I’m guessing will be soon as it’s disappeared from Beautylish & the ABH site this past week so is now only on Beauty Bay.) I’ve told myself from the get go that I don’t need it & that I have singles that are similar enough but for whatever reason, over a year later I’ve not been able to stop thinking about it, so... 🤷🏻♀️

We cooler-toned women get up in arms a bit about palettes like Norvina being ranked lower by warm-toned women because the lower something is rated, the more likely it is to end up nixed from a line. We don't really have that many options. (I have Norvina and Sultry, and returned Soft Glam.)
Agreed!! I have Norvina and sultry and use them almost everyday. I even mix and match between the two!
I’ve found that some palettes billed as “cool-toned” really aren’t - they have shades from the cooler side of the color wheel best suited to warm-toned skin. I wind up looking like I have allergies. I’d kill for purpley browns, pinky taupes/beiges, etc. The straight up neutrals make me look like I’ve died - not really sure if that’s me or them, but it’s no bueno.
KV , have you tried the Amazonian clay palette by Tarte? I forgot the exact name but one of them is cool toned. I know it has the purple front. I just thought maybe you could consider that one.
Ikr? I'm tired of warm tones too.. Some youtubers with cool tone skin like warm tones but they probably don't realise that they look kind of sick. A few years ago everyone would put on cool tones but now they can not all of a sudden.. If cool tones become a trend again they will prefer cool tones.. What I mean is majority is affected by what's currently in.
im warm toned but pale and love norvina! it's a beautiful palette. I think the thing with cool tone palettes is they require abit more skill in the eyeshadow application or it tends to look muddy.
I recently I finally got an AB pallet and I went with the Norvina. I have fair skin and green eyes and these shadows are just amazing! I do own the naked 2 and a Lorac palette so I felt I had plenty of backup neutrals. Good video tho! I was close to getting soft glam!
You have been doing the best videos lately! I mean, you always do fantastic videos but I have really been enjoying them so much recently. I have the Modern Renaissance, the subculture, the Mario, the soft Glam, and the norvina palettes. So I guess you could say I'm somewhat of a collector! But I don't feel any compelling need to own the sultry, I think it's just a little bit too conventional for me. Keep up the wonderful work Risa!💖💖💖

Thank you for this video! I bought the Norvina for the purple shades but, like you said, it's not that purple and not that easy to use! I'm glad I'm not the only one who had that impression!
I've never been interested in the soft glam palette because I think most of the lighter shades would be too light for me. Seeing the shimmer difference between them I feel like I made the right choice. I actually really love the norvina palette and see different schemes when I look at it. I've been wanting the sultry palette... but we'll see

I own 3 of these palettes, MR was my 1st one a few years ago. It was so different, but I have to blend those red shadows with others in the palette to make them work for me. I thought it was a unique palette, then everyone else copied it. I own the Soft Glam & now the Sultry as well. Love these! I travel with Soft Glam & Sultry. I think they are both different enough. Depending on what looks I’m going for.

From what Norvina has said on Twitter they look at IG followers not RUclips, and seek out influencers who do very creative and/or dramatic looks. I guess I am too boring. 🤷♀️

That’s strange because some RUclipsrs are not actual makeup artists at all. One is from a drama channel & the other is a housewife who never worked an actual job & she started a channel as a hobby. Neither one of these people have half your makeup skills! Honestly you should be the one on the PR list not them! You are amazing! 😘♥️ The two ppl I’m talking about don’t even post much about makeup on IG. Mostly their kids or showing off designer stuff they bought 👎🏼😬

I’m almost 49 & try to get my adult family members to do the same though it’s sometimes pulling teeth...to me it makes more sense as I’d much rather give/ receive things someone really wants & will use, appreciate, etc, & giving a list/ ideas doesn’t mean you can’t do otherwise if so inspired but it’s nice for all involved to have some ideas/ direction....especially for those who are especially hard to shop for!!!
@@Mel-pb5xw I totally agree. I love the feeling when you get someone something that was on their wishlist, that they've been wanting for awhile. It's also really fun to come up with my own. Makes me feel like a kid again, lol. I have 3 sisters and the easiest to shop for always comes up with the longest list of course and the hardest to shop for sister gives us a few ideas only days before Christmas.

My favorite ABH palette was the Self-Made palette. I also have Prism and Norvina. I love the mattes in Norvina so much and am not so into the shimmery/metallics as much as I'd thought. I really want Sultry. I am hoping the grey doesn't pull too blue. That drives me nuts. I really really want a brownish grey.
How you feel about scrunchies, I feel about hats. I wish they would come back in style! Before watching this video, I went to Ulta to look at ABH palettes and chose Norvina. I have numerous neutrals and wanted something different. I’m not disappointed! I love the bright, sparkly shades with the few neutrals. It’s fun to play with, and I enjoy the formula. I’ve taken your advice about getting an ABH palette and I’m glad I did! You rule! I looked for a hat emoji, and the closest I could find was a crown! Give me hats or give me death!
This was really helpful. Of the 4 you mentioned, I currently only own Modern Renaissance. This 50 year old will likely be purchasing Soft Glam despite some duplicates from MR. I like a touch of shimmer now and then, but lean more towards the mattes.
Interesting how different the shimmery shades were in intensity. Definitely could make a difference on which palette someone prefers. Could comparison, very informative!

I have the norvina palette and I love it! There is a little bit of fall out but that happens with most palettes, its also super blendable. I'm a neutral toned person so I have the luxury of being able to wear both cool and warm tones. I just purchased the Sultry palette and can't wait to use it.
I would also note that sultry is a lot cooler in tone than soft glam. soft glam is great but still really warm. Sultry shimmers are neutral to cool . While I like the soft glam I find myself reaching for sultry more often...and I don’t do Smokey eyes Im more natural with some sparkle (LOL)

I bought Norvina and the colors are so pigmented and I’ve been able to create so many looks. I love the shimmers in the palette. Then I bought Sultry and haven’t been as happy with it for some reason. The colors are still really pigmented and it is beautiful but I’m having less luck with looks since I don’t like the silvery grey colors on my eyes.
I’d love a video with tutorials using palettes that have been released over the past few years. I have a cabinet full of them and would love some new ideas without having to buy another!

Sephora just had the Sultry palette 40% off so I grabbed one!! I prefer more warm tones so this was my choice! Have always wanted a ABH pallette but just couldn't bring myself to get one since they are somewhat expensive. I got it today so I am excited to give it a try out! I love slate (the grey shade) it's beautiful on its own! Just a gorgeous shade. I don't find it gets muddy or lost when blended with other shades

I highly recommend anyone the Full exposure palette from Smash box for all nudes! It’s Amazing!! An oldie but a goodie! It’s $54 but worth every penny. Mine came with an eye primer and double ended brush. Bought it in 2015, used it non stop and still haven’t hit pan in any shadows.

I didn't expect to, but I actually love Norvina more than Soft Glam. And I think it has to do with the WOW factor of the shimmers.
