For anyone else getting this code on their VW TDI engines, I had a similar problem but the new filter actually made it worse! I got the low fuel pressure code and assumed their was a blockage somewhere. Got some injector cleaner and changed the fuel filter to try and resolve. Worked okay for a few drives and then the car wouldn’t turn on again. Tuens out I had an injector that was spraying too much fuel, this resulting in the low pressure. The bad fuel filter I removed was actually helping the car to run by reducing how much fuel was getting to the bad injector! If you’re having a similar issue, check your injector stretch bolts & seals. Much cheaper than replacing the whole injector which is what I had to do.

Today when I tried to start it, it struggled at first then it fired up with a red warning fuel pressure low stop engine. I'll have a look at the fuel filter see how it is from there, but I change all the filters with every service once a year or every 10k.

I have had the coil light come on flashing and thought the worst. Last time was turbo and EGR now it’s the fuel control unit causing the flashing coil light 💡 why do Vw make it so terribly no more Vw for me I’ll with it
My golf 6 has that problem but it's weird. If it's 30 degress or more outsite then it starts to be heard some buzzing in front of the car(golf 6 2.0 tdi). If it's then at 2000+ rpm the car goes into safe mode. But it doesn't happen in winter. Error p0087 on diagnostics.
11’ Jetta tdi had this issue months ago and changed the fuel filter issue went away. 3 months later issue come back every once in a while when I really get on it. Every time it happens before it goes into limp I notice a weird humming sound almost like a vacuum humming. Any ideas? Code is for low fuel pressure

Hi mate, my car had an HPFP failure, I have replaced the HPFP , fuel pump, fuel filter,new fuel rail, new pressure regulator and injectors, my car starts but if I try accelerate it drops into limp mode, with the code p0087, I can turn the car off and on and it's no longer In limp mode until I try accelerate again, any ideas what I need to check ??

Yes clean it out as in the video. It's not guaranteed to fix the issue but it's the best starting point and if you're lucky it won't need anymore parts
Can ask, I've got the new fuel filter, I've got the same injector cleaner you've used in the video, it says double strength on bottle.... Once ive taken out the old filter, drained out the old fuel, then put in the new filter in, do I empty the whole contents of the bottle into the filter housing? do I then dilute this with diesel at all? Or do you just fit the new seal, close it all up and start the engine? Sorry, just don't want make a big mistake.....
What about if having this code car cranks but won’t start even with easy start into air intake. Sources have suggested in tank fuel pump failure or high pressure fuel pump failure
Nice but the unwary need to be informed about the need to prime the fuel system after the filter change. Otherwise run the risk of HPFP damage very expensive repair.

I have changed the diesel filter also diesel pressure regulator and another diesel pressure sensor and i still dont find the problem it is the same problem as you got the car won`t drive with full power. do you have any tips or helping?
@@ORileysAutos Yes got fixed Fuel regulator' s relay ( called relay or fuse under the steering ) its under steering not in side of dashboard Changed and its working Actually in fuel rail there are three electric components, 1 is electric pump in fuel tank, 2nd near fuel filter and ,third is fuel regulator fuel regulator have fuel relay under steering in dash board , ( fuel pump is mechanical component) If its good mechanic if thy check step by step its an 30 mints jobs only

3 diesel cars ive owned with this fault code and its never ever been as simple as just replacing the fuel filter with this fault code for me. Maybe im cursed. Hence why i will never ever buy a diesel again. Petrol does not give you these kind of problems
@@ORileysAutos audi a6 c7 have the filter under body. I did put some injector cleaner in fuel tank, set the car to efficiency mode (which is not triggering the fault unless you press full throttle), then done about 300miles. Still the same.

I changed a lot of things. Fuel injector rail, diesel pump, fuel filter, intank fuel pump 5x still no good. I gave up and sold the car in the end.

I moved to a 1.6hdi Peugeot 308 and it's so much cheaper and more reliable 😂

Yes if there is filings in the filter housing it's likely the high pressure fuel pump has failed
How much injector cleaner did you put in? did you mix some diesel in with it?

Sounds like a blocked DPF or immobilizer fault

Yes entire bottle in. It will dilute automatically from the return hose

If it doesn't try to start on easy start it may have low compression or timing issue

Just cycle the key twice and it will self prime 👍🏻

Have you got a decent diagnostic machine? Read fuel pressure on live data and maybe try adaption on the Replacement parts

What is the most cummon problem? I have replaced the hpfp cleaned dpf because it smokes its still bad
Same fault on my a6 c7. Changing fuel filter doesn't make any difference.

@@ORileysAutos I did replaced the pump in tank with a second hand one, checked the mesh filter on the pressure regulator (no metal particles found)
