- After a few days in the city, we take a much needed day trip via train from #amsterdam. We #travel to the gorgeous, and friendly city of Gouda for a proper tasting of the local, world famous cheese as well as the local streetfood A proper walking tour of the city and sights follows! I met so many amazing people on this day and experienced that wonderful dutch hospitality I keep hearing about! So come along to the quaint city of Gouda, it may have even made a cheese lover out of me! #vlog

Gouda was the original birthplace of the stroopwafel. You could have gone to the stroop wafel or bakery of the market square and could have tried the oldest recipe.. then again they might have been closed.

@getawaywithj very chill almost like Amsterdam and Gouda had a baby. Easy to navigate, tons of good eats, some smokes but harder to find a pure pre rolled. Easy going more for romantic getaway than parties even though it's a college town. Leiden would be most similar but leiden is just more overall beautiful. Cheers and happy travels. In sumner it is much nicer , then there is also the famous cheese market. Info: For centuries, Gouda cheese has been traded every Thursday on the Market in Gouda.
From the first Thursday in April to the last Thursday in August, the traditional Cheese Market takes place every Thursday except on Ascension Day) on the Markt. And just like in the past, farmers and cheese merchants make a price by 'clapping hands'

Very nice Gouda cheese shop, I think their cheese is renowned worldwide. Very nice trains and I always like the water shots and the tremendous selection of local fares to enjoy.

Owh man. You have been missing so much good places. I been living here for 40 years. f@#k google. and just wander around... you wil see a lot more of gouda. And btw, just light it up on the street. And you visited the worst cofffeshop in gouda.. You passed the best on ur way too the mill.

"Us" Americans don't all mispronounce the city name, and it's about time the rest of us said it properly instead of pretending we can just call things whatever we want. We need to do better.

Just supress the urge to pronounce it like the first time you read it :) And Gowda is also famous for it's stropewaffles :)
