You have such a beautiful spirit!! Glad to see you both are enjoying life and travel as everyone should, thank you for bringing us along on your journeys 🤙
I'm a Brit living in Germany and love crossing over the border to the Netherlands.Love the North sea coast,Amsterdam and surrounding towns and cities ( visited a lot of them) Dutch beer, the people and of course typical Dutch food..
That's an excellent choice of old Dutch cities! Did you also make a video about small villages? There are so many different kinds in the Netherlands! Sometimes they are preserved so well, that indeed, you feel like stepping back in time, if it weren't for the modern cars you see.
Hey guys, new subscribers here. We're big time travelers too. This video hits nicely as we've already done enough of Amsterdam and Delft, but we were looking for other cities. Gouda looks awesome. Thanks for the insight!
I'm new to your channel. Enjoyed this video, you guys made me feel like I was on a real cable travel channel . Awesome editing. Can't wait to visit Europe.
Really cool having my city (Deventer) in the spotlight :) I don't know if u guy's knew but the oldest stone house in the Netherlands stands in Deventer. I hope u guy's didn't miss that. Greets from Deventer!
Yes, we did walk by that stone house! So historic! There is so much beauty and history in your town. We want to return one year for the Charles Dickens festival as well.
Can someone recommend an good App or online site for buying train tickets in Europe? We will be visiting Netherlands, Germany, France & Switzerland. We have a pass for Zurich already.
The Netherlands as a whole seems like the most beautiful place to live. It is my dream to visit there, although if I could manage, I would live there. Do you need to speak Dutch to live there, or is English ubiquitous enough to function? How expensive would it be to visit or even live there?
It is such a beautiful country! Basically everyone here speaks English. In the bigger cities, such as Amsterdam, The Hague or Rotterdam you wouldn’t necessarily need to speak Dutch. And The Netherlands is pretty expensive to visit and live 👀
@@DennyandNikki I assume someone would need to have some kind of work lined up already before emigrating, right? Like do you have to be sponsored by a company there, or is it possible to go there and then find work?
I would say no. But if you wanna live here it would be very handy to speak Dutch as it makes the bureaucratic thing so much more easy. Also it's quite expensive here certainly if your middle income.
Hello, I am a new subscriber and love your channel and your travels :) I have one question.. why you dont shoot in 4K? Would be awesome to see your glorious vlogs in high-resolution! Have lots of fun and keep sharing :)
Possible, but not advisable. That would be such a dumb thing to do. Those, who 'do' Europe, haven't done much at all, except traveling to and fro. Best way to get into things, is to take your time to enjoy it! Visit the local museum and parks and whatever the town is known for. Relax and take it all in. And don't even do this on three consecutive days, but visit a Dutch theme park on another day, go for the beach on another and visit one of the many nature reserves on yet another. It's amazing.
Something I will never miss ''CHURCH BELLS'' Wen sleeping ad my ex home, every Sunday morning 15m before church stars. Good by sleeping on your day off!

None of these cities show any significant medieval remains, so not medieval cities. There most signicant medieval remains are some basements. The medieval period lasted from the year 400 until the year 1500. What is there to see from the street that dates back from before 1500 that is still in it's original medieval state? In Amsterdam only three buildings of that period exist: the Oude Kerk, the Waag on Nieuwmarkt and the Schreierstoren. Of those, only the Schreierstoren is still mostly in it's original state. So there are hardly any medieval remains in Amsterdam. Delft has the Prinsenhof, but also only few parts date back from before 1500, not visible from outside. The Delft city hall was rebuild with a new desing in 1618-1620 after being destroyed by fire.
Caught in a technicality. But that's not what people are looking for, in general. These old cities are very attractive, even if they don't fit in with the technical term used here, they do convey that feeling of really old and authentic. And charming. Centuries older than most things in the US.
@@gardenjoy5223 Of course the 17th and 18th century architecture in the Netherlands is very beautiful, but it is blatant incompetence to call it "medieval Dutch cities". Not just a "technicality". It shows a complete lack of understanding about history. The word "exploring" is also not appropriate here. This video shows basic tourist stuff. For someone who grew up there, very disappointing.

Why does every foreigner want to go to Amsterdam so badly? there are dozens of nicer cities in the Netherlands as you saw in this video. There is a lot of crime in Amsterdam, especially for tourists.
There are crimes in all EU capital, also Washingto DC , New York, but you can't stop people for traveling to Amsterdan, just doing some research what parts of the cities not to go. Thanks.
Have you been to The Netherlands? What are your favorite things to do?
Actually I live lin the Netherlands. My favourite action is hiking in the the Schoorlse duinen or on the Utrechtse Heuvelrug.
@@freudsigmund72 We've never been there but love hiking so we might have to try it out next time!
i lived in gouda for over twenty years and i am still homesick for the city.
I can’t wait to visit Europe to see those medieval villages. They are so beautiful, like a dream. Great video!!!
Thank you! 😁 and they really are so beautiful!
There are no medieval villages. No medieval architecture left
Thank you for sharing this. Great Stuff!!
Your welcome! 😁
In Gouda you should have gone inside the church. There are the famous, very very interesting and beautiful 17e century stained glass windows.

Definitely something everyone should do! Thanks for your comment, and glad you like the video 🤙🏽🤙🏻
thank you for this video! it's just what I was looking for. I think I'll go on a day trip to Deventer because of this video ❤

Oh wow!! How awesome. Have so much fun on your trip to Amsterdam! It’s a great destination to visit
Id highly recommend going to Amersfoort
Especially at the Koppelpoort
You HAVE to start your trip there and wander around the old streets and canals
Another delightful vid. Thanks 😊
Glad you liked it! 😁

You mentioned your parents live there but you don’t have an accent. Have you ever lived there? The cheese store looked delectable.
Yes! I grew up here, but I’m fluent in English and Dutch
That’s awesome! You have a great voice. It’s very calming to listen to.
Did you visit Gouda this year to? We are 750 years now so there is lots to do till next week. Like going onto the Sint Jans Church.
Always a pleasure to see our American guests enjoying the Netherlands! 👍👍👍❤
What's the name of the train app?
Btw great video thanks for the suggestions!!
3:59 to be honest,.... everything is close to Amsterdam.
Even the furthest part is less than 200 km (124 miles) away.
True! You can explore any part of the country with a day trip!
I love that you and your husband like that!!
YAY my city is in it :D (Gouda)
