Not that anyone asked, but for some reason I've always loved the original E36 M3 exhaust manifold... which is why my setup for my last two E36's has been the original OEM E36 M3 exhaust manifold, SuperSprint "H-Pipe" M3 Front Exhaust and SuperSprint M3 Rear Exhaust w. DTM tips. Kudos to your mechanic for making that exhaust manifold swap look easy :-) Had mine swapped on two E36's and there's not much space there.
Wish I was overseas and not in the states so I could have all the great euro motors and ITB'S galore. The x-pipe makes a good difference in scavenging effect. Those are the good manifold studs with the e-torx head. Good move. The ports in the stock manifold might also be for a gas analyzer. Not alot of shops use them anymore and most are in the corner collecting dust. Clean e36. Supersprint makes a good product. I used to have the supersprint trackpipe on my e36 with an otherwise full custom mandrel bent exhaust. I was happy with the results. I've installed a good amount of they're products on various customers cars over the years, and I have yet to have a customer compliant of any sort. Good video. Rob Thorpe I agree. E46s feel perfect. I have really fallen in love with them. I would rather have a 35k dollar e46 m3 than a 35k dollar E9X M3. Yes that V8 is magical but the E46 chassis is just a real pleasure ; at least when it wants to stay in one piece 😂
Dude it's legal to swap engines there. Count your blessings. Imagine being stuck with a 323 or 325 and government forbids you to swap a powerful engine in it which is something you can afford. They say if you want faster car you must buy a faster car but there is double taxation on motor vehicles so they get 40% of it, and it's something you will never ever be able to afford.
@@idokwatcher2062 that's a really solid point actually. From what I can tell in Europe (not sure which countries or all of them?) you really can't do the types of modifications we get away with here. De-catting your car, throwing a bunch of mods on and tuning it is no big deal here. Some of it is illegal due to emissions but a lot of guys are able to get around it easily enough depending on what platform you're working with. My US E36 M3 doesn't have crazy mods, it's got the early M50 intake manifold which is a common mod here, plus tune, exhaust, suspension. Not sure what you mean by double taxation, but we've got that here too. Every time a vehicle changes hands its taxed again to register it under a new owner. So if a car has 8 owners, it's been taxed 8 times.

The stock exhaust manifolds sound better than the supersprint manifold. I think if you used the supersprint cat bqck with the stock manifolds it would’ve sounded perfect
On the S50 engine of my z3m roadster (Eur specs), I clearly lost power when I did fit the supersprint manifold. 80 to 120km/h in 5th gear took me 0,5s more... Bigger section not always mean better combustion.
@@EvolveAutomotive, one point to take into consideration is I compared OEM manifold versus Supersprint one only. You had a non OEM exhaust pipe and replaced the whole exhaust line if I'm correct.
It's best to have a tune that goes with the new headers! Or else there maybe must be a small thing wrong with O2 sensors or plugs and coils at the end of their life perhaps...?
JerainJezza , or like I said, maybe just the headers is not a good change. These engines (at least the S50) are already almost developping 100hp/L, I have strong doubts you can easily gain without a full review of both intake and exhaust. I actually crashed this car and since have replaced the exhaust with resonated x-pipe and race rear, to get a little more noise and see how different it sounds. Sadly the rebuild isn’t finished so I can’t tell you how it sounds.
@@EvolveAutomotive on the video it sounds fairly good on the inside shots! Will defo give it a try! Thank you for the responde and hope the rebuild goes your way!
Get some resonators in there, it is going to sound even better, trust me. I'm suprised you didn't get *even more rasp* considering you have no cats or resonators. Usually when you mess with the mid pipe all M50 based motors are going to sound horrible. This isn't that bad, but seriously get some Vibrant Ultra Quiet resonators welded in there. It's not going to mess with the volume, it's just going to filter out some of the tinnyness and harshness.
The rear box was quite beefy so removed a lot of it. I’ve since crashed this car and am rebuilding it as an M3 Touring, and that will be getting a resonated centre section and race rear box, to see how that changes things.
It’s an Eventuri Z4M kit I modified to fit. Eventuri do not support it. The intake itself fits right on as the MAF diameter is the same as the S54, it just doesn’t mount anywhere.
I really want to put supersprint headers with a full catted supersprint x-pipe to a supersprint resonator to a dinan muffler on my E46 330ci but I’m worried it will be too loud or induce too much drone. Anyone have any insight.
I'm glad somebody else has noticed, all there car seem to suffer roller climb, can't strap a car down for shit, with a bit of roller climb you can really pump up the hp figures especially with rwd stuff

Did this car get smashed? If so what you doing with your exhaust? You remapped my one at Luton and if its for sale let me know
It did! I crashed it on track 😬 exhaust was damaged in the crash and has been sold since for someone to cut up and try and make something of
@@EvolveAutomotive thanks anyway
Make sure to check out the build series where Matt builds an E36 M3 Touring! - ruclips.net/video/erHPzpVTEfQ/видео.html
More E36 please!
Do you sell this tune to be flashed remotely ?
We do not no
@@EvolveAutomotive thats a bummer 😥
Unfortunately it’s too old for our remote tool
@@EvolveAutomotive i saw on some old forums you guys used to sell some alphan n stuff for these engines.
would like to see older bmw's.
What intake is that? Im looking to get something similar for my M3 3.2
It’s an Eventuri Z4M kit I modified to fit. Eventuri do not support it. The intake itself fits right on as the MAF diameter is the same as the S54, it just doesn’t mount anywhere.
@@EvolveAutomotive Thx
Bloody nice exhaust. The cars worth 3grand more now
I really want to put supersprint headers with a full catted supersprint x-pipe to a supersprint resonator to a dinan muffler on my E46 330ci but I’m worried it will be too loud or induce too much drone. Anyone have any insight.
Haven’t heard that combination to be able to comment. Resonators and muffler shouldn’t be too bad though in theory.
Evolve Automotive yeah just looking for an opinion. Thank you!
Cats, resonator and muffler are hardly any different than stock. It won't be loud.
Little concerning how much the car moved on the dyno.
I'm glad somebody else has noticed, all there car seem to suffer roller climb, can't strap a car down for shit, with a bit of roller climb you can really pump up the hp figures especially with rwd stuff
@@markrs59 gives false readings and higher numbers. yup. ItS SeVeN HunDrEd BrAkE ThO.
This sounds better than the e46 M3
Sounds great, the weight saving must of been good aswell? You can donate the old manifold and exhaust to my E36 328i track car if you like 🤪
Must admit didn’t weigh it as the car already had a non-standard system on. Would be a saving over the stock exhaust for sure.
