Interesting history about Musou Orochi Z in that it was almost localized in the west as warriors orochi the collection but sadly after DW6 and SW3 negative reception Koei canned the idea which is a shame, WO2 often gets criticized for being more of the same but many fans don't realize it's really koei Fault for repurposing WO2 as a sequel than an expansion for the originally like it was intended I still think WO3 probably the best place to play SW3 roster since Omega force took the criticism to the chain and actually smoothed out the characters moveset making it faster to string attacks
The only shame for koei that they didn't release a sw3 on ps nor xbox, i tried sw3+sw3xl they're both splendid, but alas they're was no eng version for xl version 😮💨 koei always keeps neglecting samurai series..
@@YarugumaSou I cover this a little in my Samurai Warriors video but essentially the Wii's hardware slows the game down quite a bit. It makes the game feel overall sluggish. There are also some questionably designed battles.
Are you sure about that? Because it doesn't make sense. I read that the real reason was koei wanting to sell it for 60 bucks. SCEA told them, but they didn't budge. The same thing happened in Europe, with SCEE. If it really was because of the negative reception, then they wouldn't have released DW6 Special, Strike Force, and Empires.
Warriors Orochi 3, the only game where you can enter three kingdoms era china and have Miyamoto Musashi fight Achilles in front of the statue of liberty.
Musou games are my comfort games. WO 1 is my first entry to the musou series and the kid me genuinely surprised when I found out that these are historical figures lol. You can get these games again by having a working PS2 and the game disc around obviously, or you can download PS2 emulator on your PC or phone (doubt most phones are able to properly run them though). My personal recommendation is PCSX2, though it requires setting up some stuff first including downloading the intended game.
I think Orochi was the perfect character in terms of design and writing to make the Warriors Orochi games work the way it did. Plus the music that the Warriors Orochi games brought into the table is simply unrivaled, in my opinion.
Side note as some guy who put about 1000 hours into WO3U: DW-style characters (characters with basic combo strings and musous that are a single attack) are the strongest early because of their overtuned movesets, but SW-style characters (old-school long combos and hold-down-the-button musous) are pretty much the only way you can clear the endgame hellscape of Gauntlet Mode. There are several weapon buffs and items that give you 400-something movespeed that lets you blitz across the map, and also give you infinite musou as long as you can get a 500-hit combo every so often. That results in SW-style characters having infinite invincibility thanks to musous, and is the only way of avoiding getting instantly one-shot at Lv.100 Miasma.
Also the story mode of WO1 and WO2 has true ending, based on some past interview of the WO game staff that users on gamefaqs mentioned. It WO1 True Ending is the SW story WO2 True Ending is the Wei story it does not mean all the other story route is not canon, its just for those two games the True Ending is the true final stage of the game and other stage does happen but chronogically take place before it.
I'm glad you reviewed one of my favorite series. I played a lot WO2 as a child and i loved it, but then years later i played WO3U and oh boy now that was amazing. The story, characters, gameplay, game modes, everything in WO3U was amazing, definitely THE best and most complete warriors game ever made. And i agree that for two of the most weak entries in each DW(7) and SW(3) they made an epic crossover with WO3 so they deserve credit. I like your videos and i can't wait to see what you will review next.
Gameplay wise WO4 dominates with the roster of the best version DW8 & SW4 and the magic item mechanic.. But playing WO3 felt better.. not to mention WO4 has awful incomplete DlC..
@@GReyn well, to each their own. I personally prefer WO3 better compared the WO4, even prefer the series to end with 3 I just wish they utilize Kyuubi and Hundun more in the story. Imagine a universe where WO4 exist without all those Greek/Norse myth and instead still focusing on the Chinese/Japanese myth and even expands on it a lot more, making either Kyuubi or Hundun as the final villain to the story and still keep the typing special moveset and all that, that'd be the ultimate Warriors Orochi game for me. Too bad we live in this one though.
@@clumsydrawer yeah.. i agree story wise.. but i mean, i like how in WO4 we use the newer version of dw & sw characters moveset, which is much more fluid.. and the addition of artifacts becoming a good gimmick.. .even if they stay with chinese & japanese myth, they could have still implemented those gameplay elements..
In defense of Warriors All Starz, I just love that every character has something to say about every other character. 2 hot spring lines, 2 bond lines, defeated line, reinforce line etc. And the lines are actually funny. I was already a KT fan then so it felt great to have characters from Night of Azure, Atelier, Toukiden in it, especially when each and everyone of them was given so much attention. Everyone has a cutscene dedicated to them and plays a big part in the story. The story is well, crap but the important thing here is watching my favourite characters from other franchises kick major ass. I enjoyed the bravery system, the hero skills. Movesets on Arnice and Ouka were amazing even if they aren't from a Warriors game. The sudden death stages were kind of lame but the killing as much as possible within the time limit stages were great. Also gaining bond levels with other characters increase the character's skill level. It's probably a very grindy mechanic and considering most people didn't like the mechanic of the game, I guess it makes it all that much worse. I still really love Warriors All Starz though.
Warriors Orochi 1 will always be one of my favorites for one reason: you can practically play with anyone in any stage and you will have special dialogues. After finishing the game like a hundred times I chose to use Nobunaga in a stage he wasn't even featured in any way and it had a special cutscene with Cao Cao.
"There becomes a clear gap in the Dynasty Warriors characters and Samurai warriors characters" Looks at Lu Bu's 3rd charge with a century of I frames attack and Guan Yu's 1st charge attack that doubles attack, defense, attack speed, negates flinches and STACKS WITH ATTACK×2 AND DEFENSE ×2
There was a WO2 “Special”, of sorts, that we got here in the West. It has the new characters added for WOZ, along with their introduction Dream Stages, but it’s otherwise just WO2. It’s only on PSP (and Vita, by way of PSN), but it’s still a lot of fun and a great port of the game.
In case u didn't realize, in orochi 2 if u play a team of 2 speed characters and any third type, the musou attacks of your team gain an alacrity/agility/attack speed bonus. It's amazing to see slow characters go fast. I think if u play 2 technique and any third, your musou attacks will apply lightning damage. If am not mistaken, 2 power and any third makes your musou deal more damage and your character looks like they have clones that repeat your attack. Not sure about power but Speed & Technique bonuses are great
Remember how long you had to dedicate to get 1000 K.O. in a single battle. For me, on average, it was always a little over 300 K.O. While older systems had lower processing power, Warriors games were also more simplistic and harder. Times sure have changed. Character creator has also been a blast and needs to come back more often.
I really love the original Warriors Orochi. The kingdom musous are great. The storylines are super fun and lots of lesser characters are granted a chance to shine, compared to the main games. The balance being a little jank never bothered me. It has that "old" warriors difficulty, where you just play on Easy until your characters are leveled enough for their damage to be appropriate for Normal or higher. I like how aggressive the peons are too. Special units can really ruin your day, and there are many different kinds. The character switching mechanic is perfect for musou games. Despite this being the first Warriors Orochi game, it still has a fairly large roster too. So you have a lot of choices. The weapon fusing and skills systems are great. It's satisfying finding characters you like and upgrading them as you play. The game's a bit grindy, but so are a lot of musou games. WO1 feels comfy to me in the same way as the best musou games.
Personally I love WO and WO2. The amount of special dialogue potential there was crazy. There's a video on all of them. I liked when the cast was smaller which made the interaction that much better. You got counterparts like Zhao Yun/Yukimura, could go on, but you get my point.
WO1 was a lot of fun for me in my high school years and WO3U is even better (and longer). The tag-team gameplay was a nice change of pace, and it was fun experimenting with so many characters. The crossover interaction, funny moments, and characters who normally don't get a chance at the spotlight in the mainline games were able to get it here. This is a crossover series done right. This series also has an amazing soundtrack (Samurai Scanners and Vertical Node come to mind). First time I played WO1 and heard Pentachord or Antiscepter, the songs were just so catchy, and they've only gotten better with the newer songs added for each game. I feel like the techno music does a good job of setting it apart from the DW/SW games and sets the tone for the Orochi series really well.
I'm gonna be honest, I was a massive fan of the DW games growing up but I had literally no idea there were other series in the franchise outside of DW. That was until 8 years ago when Orochi 3 became free with gold on Xbox and I saw it advertised, and my teenage self was like "wait is that Dynasty Warriors? Who is that other guy with a spear on the cover art?". At that moment my eyes were opened to the worlds of both Orochi and Samurai Warriors and I've since put thousands of hours across the 2 series, playing every game in them. Needless to say I love the franchise and Orochi 3 has a very special place in my heart, I just wish that Koei didn't give up on translations tbh.
I love the Orochi games. The unique characters and the cross stories of DW and SW are so good I feel. Plus the cross over characters like Ryu and Troy are fun to use too. Ryu and Athena are my go to characters in 4.
i've played all 4s and 2 is my first and most favourite. i beat it (clearing all dream mode in all difficulties) many times. it got sun wukong that actually make horse irrelevant, and weapon crafting system that give you a lot of freedom like make your enemy perma-freeze or attack speed that too fast you cant finish your combo without furiously mashing the controller
You know, I've had my childhood with WO2. I would always had school from 7am until 1pm. My brother would had his school from 7am until 11am. After going back home, we both would always rock this game. We often would decide who to use (2 characters for me and 1 for him). I remembered that we even managed to make most of the characters to lvl80++, while some of the characters that we dislike would stuck at lvl 10. I remembered that I always chose Zhou Tai and Yoshitsune while he would often chose the stronger ones, LuBu, Tadakatsu, Keiji, Orochi, and GuanYu. So in some ways, we would always ended up with 3 different types of characters. I remembered that we even got so hyped up on the DW vs SW dream mode because the thought of leaders from different era fought each other is cool. After that, we also always play the VS mode especially the tag team and horse race ones. We occasionally also had fistfights due to them. Now me and my brother can't meet each other because I'm having my college overseas. But, I'm always waiting for the semester holiday to return home and play the game with him again. (My PS2 still works and I kept my WO2 disc in a special case which was meant for my mom's watch 🤣
haha mantap. Down here comes the pain).
Hello WildcatWeather, another great video for Warriors game, thanks for taking the time to review all those games from those 3 series, it brought back some good memories ! Your voice and tone are on point aswell, very pleasant to listen. I laughed a bit when you talked about gauntlet mode for WO 3, because I felt the same way : the mode lacks explanation, you are "forced" to check online forums to understand what you are supposed to do.
I played warriors orochi 2 for ages. Every character is unlockable through playing the story mode normally except for one. Orochi X requires you to unlock and complete every level in dream mode and the requirements for some levels are absurd. A real grind that isn't much fun.
build the dream mode character to beat chaos is easy. its that one last dream mode that requires you to grind thousands of total proficiency from all character that made it such a drag
Musou Orochi Z is basically WO1 and WO2 in one, but with a slightly readjustment system, adding extra character, different unlock requirement and some exclusive like VS mode In Musou Orochi Z, if you want play WO2 content, you must clear WO1 first to unlock. For example, clear WO1 content with Team Shu will unlock WO2 Team Shu content and so on... Since it's 2 in 1 content game, your WO1 progress (with equipment, unlocked character and level grinding) can transfer to WO2 content once you clear it, playing WO2 content somehow easier
Playing the first Warriors Orochi right now, and my immediate thoughts: Archers are once again the devil (though obviously not as DEADLY as they were in DW3), and having just been playing Samurai Warriors 2 XL for a while, I already dearly miss the "horse health bar" rather than just one hit and knocked off.
I like All-Stars! It's not exactly an Orochi game, more like a Koei-Tecmo fanservice game, it doesn't take itself seriously and for what it is it's really fun. It's really great seeing obscure characters like Opoona getting an spotlight. This game is more like for Hardcore KT fans.
to me WO2 is the most balanced game moveset wise dw characters moveset got heavy improvement so their attacks actually felt connected, they even removed sw2xl extra charge attack so dw & sw1 characters can keep up
I found this video after getting back into the Warriors franchise I used to love so much but haven't played since the PS2. There was a lot to get through, thanks for this video. What I learned is that I HAVE to experience Rush mode, thank you.
bro i remember playing warriors orochi 1&2 in my psp and putting around 500 hour ish, then in 2014 when i got my ps4 i also got warriors orochi 3 ultimate and spent legit almost 4k hours on it. I remember grinding my ass off getting all mystic weapons and getting everyone to level 99, my fav team to use in gauntlet mode was xu shu (his r1 is broken) orochi x (with mystic bells basically jump charge cancel) kyubi (shes hot cant lie), hundun, and the last one basically depends on mood. Jesus sorry bout this long ass comment but i seriously got nostalgia watching this and makes me wanna replay all games.
Mitsunari was so cheesy from what I remember in WO. Lvl 99 and spamming R1 was all that was needed. And I had the same feeling about the difference between DW and SW characters recently. Originally, I thought maybe it was just Magoichi because of how much he just clears the map. But when I started getting crafted weapons for other SW characters and put Reach on them, they all seem so much better to play as. Unfortunately, the only DW character I got a crafted weapon for was Cao Pi and even though he's a favorite of mine, he's not very effective in clearing areas.
10:08 Agreed. When you said speed was the worst for the first game I do kinda agree, but its not by a large margin at all. They get a free powerful attack from pressing R1 while moving forward, which does a lot of good damage. Pretty much everyone is viable. I will say though I think WO1 is the best WO game. It and WO3 were the only ones where I felt like I actually cared about the story, but it edges out WO3 for me because it still has the old Warriors combat, which is at its absolute best here. I also feel like the separated story modes in WO1/WO2 gave more characters the spotlight. I easily rank it above SW2 and DW5 for me, single character stories just get boring and annoying after like the 6-7th one, where you end up repeating the same battles over and over again. The stage count in WO1 is just really packed and really good with some super tough and engaging battles.
>Speed types are weak in WO1 Uuuuh, Mitsunari? Sun Jian? R1s not costing musou in General? And officers having unique dialogue was present as back as WO1 because you can use everyone youve unlocked in a story(which also opens up unique pre and post battle cutscenes) Free Mode is in the game just to hear the death lines essentially
Orochi Z was the game I played back and it was even the disc copy of it, Im not from Japan but Im glad I was able to play it completely and experience the whole thing myself
Everyone I know from the fandom has some story about how they started with DW 2/3/4 as kids. Not me. I read about a ps store glitch that allowed me to buy WO3U on the Vita for the price of one dlc. This started a pretty deep rabbit hole for me. The thing I love about Gauntlet mode is that it's really easy to enter an infinite Musou with Motochika.
I remember playing the living hell out of Musou Orochi 2. I still remember grinding using a lvl 99 Sun Wukong to boost other characters in a starting map chaos mode due to his nimbus ability.
These games were my absolute childhood, and I appreciate how much effort you put into them. Do you think you'll ever review the spin-off Musuo games including the Gundam ones??
I've spend a LOT of time with WO1 so you can trust me when I say speed characters in that game are very good but they are the most technical category. To have the potential of them, you have to use special attacks (R1) and jump cancel to extend your combos. They can uae their special attacks anywhere in their light attack (Square) strings or their charge attack(Triangle) to completely deny the recovery animation of their moves and use jump cancel to continue otherwise finished combos or escape from sticky situations. Also Slay could be extremely useful with them.
props to you man for really highlighting pros and cons of these series, I'm so ignorrant that I'm stucked loving only WO2. Thanks for giving much information of any other series, and BTW your points WO 1 & WO 2 in general is so accurate, props to you once again
The most overpowered character in Warriors Orochi 3 is Xiahou Ba, his R1 can increase movement speed and attack speed. Can perform EX attacks many times in a short time
The two things I remember from gauntlet mode is it's like a survival and when you and one or more of your friends have that lightning connecting you it lets you do a special 2-4 player muso smash/ super move if you all activate your special at the same time.
Orochi 2 is where I really fell in love with the series when I was a kid, Orochi 3 Ultimate is goated hands down, Orochi 4 was definitely creative and tried to introduce new and exciting ways to enhance the overall experience, but it fell short imo in execution. All stars was alright for what it was , I just turned my brain off to the story as it's pretty generic, but gameplay wise I thought it was somewhat interesting but after 4 missions you've seen it all pretty much.
I disagree, wo4u was my favorite, mostly due to the massive roster putting the rest of the musuo genre to Shame with 177 playable characters, and the magic system is far better than the EX attacks
@@jackripple5179if you're talking about All Stars then yes, the 'traveling the world' aspect of doing missions and gathering characters after story objectives was intriguing from the beginning. However previous games like Orochi 3 made it more captivating in the way you acquired the different characters, like going back in time and preventing Musashi's death at Odawara. It felt meaningful to recruit characters, where in All Stars it just felt more matter of fact rather than important, my bad from rambling lol. I see what you mean though fam.
@@mathewhosier9739I respect that, Koei likes to make the next entry bigger and better than the last. While the huge roster is nice and it's good to see some rep, I feel like it's a quantity over quality situation. The magic system was an alright inclusion, new ways to combo and slaughter enemies besides basic B&Bs, but here's the thing, most magic was basically situational unless you knew how to manipulate things to your advantage. Ex attacks are still useful for when you're put of magic meter and/or not fighting next to a clamp. IF you built you're weapon with certain affinities like Wind to break enemies guard or any other element with Might and Potency, then it's curtains. Magic to me was just a combo extender, but when I had to use it, it did it's job.
one thing to consider in WO about the balancing: the game is balanced more so around the weapons you're using, rather than your characters stats, finding better weapons and fusing weapons with favourable traits that suit your playstyle is key here.
do note that content from Musou Orochi Z (Which includes Benkei and Sanzang, the 2 new characters that were added in Z) can be found in the PSP port of Warriors Orochi 2
I been playing Orochi 4 as of late and pretty much everything you said was spot on in what I think. I’m having a really good time with it but the story is just so LONG.
@@montelhelem8707 Same. I just finished the side missions as well. Now I gotta play Chapters 6 and onward now. Having a good time still but I do wish there were more different levels.
Thanks for the video, these are great to watch as a relative newcomer to the series. Not super familiar with ROTK outside of the original tale so I'll be looking forward to that
Orochi 1 and Orochi 2 will always be the best crossovers ever made. With warriors who weren't strong I always played difficult stages in chaos to get their fourth weapons to have some interesting leveling up experience and gather points. Chaos mode was nerfed in Orochi 2
If you enjoyed 1 and 2. I think you will definitely enjoy WO3U that game surpassed my expectations tremendously so much content, so much interesting dialogues and interaction
A year too late maybe but something interesting about Samurai Characters in WO3. When you use their Musou attack you are able to stop using it and run around and do normal/strong attacks while in the musou state, in the musou state you are 100% invincible. So If you have Things like Osmosis - (Absorbs enemy Musou when inflicting damage.) And the big one Bombast - (Gives a 10-seconds unlimited Musou powerup for each 500-hit combo. Refreshes duration, but does not stack.) You can effectively keep refilling your Musour gauge forever making you an unkillable god. Super useful in Gauntlet mode, it's really broken. And this is something that absoloutely none of the DW Characters can do so in my opinion they are definitely weaker because of this. Some of the Orochi characters can do it too Like Orochi X and Kaguya, not all but most.
Yeah... I must say, I really loved "All-Stars" because of how over the top and wacky it was. Plus, I'm a sucker for this "bravery" mechanic. They basically adopted this system from both "DW" PSP titles, where you need to level up on each battlefield from 1 to 10. They also used this system for "Wo-Long"... and as much as some hate it, I really like this mechanic, for whatever reason. Also, this game made me realize how to pronounce "Saoirse", so I'm feeling uber superior right now.
Will be good to see a video about all of the musou games that aren't connected to samurai warrior/dynasty/orochi games. Like gundam musou, berserk, zelda, etc
One thing I would loved to have seen them bring in would be the mini games from the early samurai warriors. Me and my friend would play them for hours instead of the main game.
Im playing warriors orochi 4 ultimate. The infinity mode's purpose is to grind gems, crystals, growth point and materials for the character's strongest weapon. Btw. Warriors orochi 4 ultimate' max character level is 900
Kanetsugu Is My Fave Character In All 4 Of The Games. He Has OP AOE If You Have Good Attack Speed And Positioning To Not Get Hit Behind Before You Can Spam His Triangle 3 Combo.
I’m glad to see some positive reactions to WO4 I love that game soooo much :D Still still my only gripe with it is the repeated stages like shesh it got kinda got out of hand but it’s still so fun to go through ✌️✌️
@@milosmisic89 wo4 u play this one certain stage CONSTANTLY the last stage ain’t even it’s unique stage compared to 3 which has its own unique last stage And wo3 has tons of guest characters and wo4 got rid off them 😠😠 I still like wo4 and it looks waayyyy nicer but wo3 I feel got more love put into it so it’s my fave warriors orochi
@@Lubuisthegoat2024 but then it’s missing all the doa characters and a few others they also could’ve at least added some new characters from musou all stars but they didn’t
Funny how you mention on how its funny seeing characters do kamehameha's especially considering the stuff that characters in sw 3 do in their ultimate musou attack ie: Gracia dropping spirit bombs like dong zhuo's aeriel musou attack or oichi shooting lasers out of her hoops and dont even get me started on jin's character weapons. Seeing how you've done mostly all the warriors games or atleast the mainstream ones. I suggest that you do the Capcom counterpart to samurai warriors called Sengoku Basara 1 to 3. 4 is optional.
I have fond memories of warriors orochi.. Like speed-grinding as nobunaga oda, clearing the map SO QUICKLY that by the time I'd killed the leader, there were around 10+ officer-kill messages stacked over eachother.. So the game didn't end when I killed the leader.. I just had to listen to nobunaga go ".. It's just that simple.." ".. It's just that simple.." ".. It's just that simple.." ".. It's just that simple.." ".. It's just that simple.." ".. It's just that simple.." ".. It's just that simple.." ".. It's just that simple.." before being rewarded with the level ending. Orochi 2 was my favorite, but I haven't played 3 yet.
WOZ was the last genuine pure Koei game before they sold their soul to Tecmo. It was like the base game + Xtreme Legends. The customizations, level ups, stages, music, story and artwork are still so special to me. It was a dream come true to have a crossover with the dynasty and samurai warriors. I still hate that it was never localized for the US. Zhou Tai, Mitsuhide, Ginchyo was my main team for all 3 games.
Also played every musou games I even played games like arslan senki and berser lol, but I never had a time to play "all star" and DW9 which I heard was bad.BTW Really nice tier list man, totally agree with it 👍🏻
Watching this is really nostalgic since I played warrior orochi 1,2, and 3. I really like Cao pi, Zhao Yun, Nene, kunoichi, Daji, and xiao qiao moveset
Amazing video! Tyvm! I played WO1 to exhaustion when I was younger, loved it to bits and I'd like to mention that I disagree with SPD characters being useless. Some of my most favorite (and well played) heroes were SPD cat, what I hated were STR because they lacked mobility/utility, as I was grinding all chars to max and 4 tier weapons, STR chars were "shelved once done" kinda deal... It's been 10 years and I still can't find a hack'n'slash as enjoyable as WO1, this game is what I think of when I hear the words "hack and slash", not even SW4 or DW series can scratch it. Always wanted to play the other WO games but, sadly, 2 and 3 were not available on PC unless You used an emulator, which my laptop couldn't handle at the time. Now that I have a decent PC, I can try that. The reason I came here was to see if WO4, which is available for PC, is worth my money when compared to WO1 and if 2 and 3 are worth the bother of emulating. No English dub might be a deal breaker for me tho, depending on how much reading there is.
"I was hoping we could all play some kimari" best ending in all warriors of orochi campaigns ever. All the heroes just playing kimari with the big painted face guy
I love this series so much, I played Orochi, Orochi 2, Orochi 3, Orochi 3 ultimate, and Orochi 4 and had a blast with each one of them (Orochi 3 is my only ever Platinum trophy, I always play for fun never carrying for the trophies but got it an that one just for the good times). Sadly we won't get a new one but glad I had the chance to enjoy them. Ps I would get that Orochi ultimate definite deluxe edition in 2030 for sure
I want to like All Stars so much because I love the silly combination of characters but the lack of free mode or any other type of mode and not having units to order around makes it a bit annoying with the length of battles
Finally I got the time to watch this video! Well done once again man, this is quite the fun series. I do agree fully. WO1 & 2 are a proper throwback for me, but I did spend more time on WO3U as I loved that one to death. Man, if only it had an English dub, if only. WO4U was necessary to make it tolerable and kinda fun, we don’t speak about the base game. Didn’t try out All-Stars yet, I just might in the very far and distant future.
Great video. I watched your dynasty warriors game review which was also great. WO is an amazing and I totally agree with your placements, especially WO3 ultimate which is my personal favorite. The crossover is great and the character designs and movesets from both SW and DW are damn near perfect. 👌🏽
Chaos mode on like 3 stages is practically impossible on warriors orochi3 ultimate an they were the stages where you had to escort the commander if u leave there side for like 10 seconds it’s almost like an insta defeat
This video is amazing and you have a very good skill in making the viewer watch until the end, I really enjoyed the video thank you 🙏 Liked and Subbed!
Normally a ghost-watcher but the “I think that’s fitting as this game sucks just like modern Omega Force games do” gave me such a hard belly laugh. Definitely hit the sub button after that hahaha what a line
I just wanted to share that i absolutely loved orochi ultimate 3. The timeline branching missions and the completely unexpected 'second act' which was basically an entire bonus story campaign kept me hooked and i sunk waaay to many hours into it. i'll just say that i MaxLeveled the entire cast and still have no regrets about it. As a fantasy/RPG fan, the mystical additions and the otherworld additional franchise characters further cemented my likes. Firmly cemented as one of my favorite playstation experiences still to this day.
I grew out of these games I always wanted some blood, dirt and a little bit of gore it gets so boring beating hoards of enemies just flying around after u hit them some dismemberment and some rpg elements like bannerlord would make for such a good game I wish I could get back into these games

yup
facts how can i play these games again 😢
Same😂
Musou games are my comfort games.
Thank you for gracing my channel with your comment.
Honestly impressive that you are here - I knew you were a Warriors fan, but ending up here is for the diehard Warriors fans. Huh, the more you know!
Surprised the all mighty mustache guy is here, congrats on being cultured
Always interesting seeing where you pop up in videos that I watch.
When you think about it, Orochi is just a Koei fanboy living out his dream of combining the DW and SW worlds and duking it out with everyone.
As far as I know he is the only man to have reviewed all 3 mainlines series and I tip my hat off to this fine man
Chris Gildart did this ages ago. I love both creators’ series though
I guess only know person to do this in the current decade and 2nd overall
I remember going into WO3 blind and pleasantly surprised when Ryu appeared in epic way to boot. That scene always etched into your mind
Side note as some guy who put about 1000 hours into WO3U:
DW-style characters (characters with basic combo strings and musous that are a single attack) are the strongest early because of their overtuned movesets, but SW-style characters (old-school long combos and hold-down-the-button musous) are pretty much the only way you can clear the endgame hellscape of Gauntlet Mode.
It
WO1 True Ending is the SW story
WO2 True Ending is the Wei story
it does not mean all the other story route is not canon, its just for those two games the True Ending is the true final stage of the game and other stage does happen but chronogically take place before it.
Good to know!
I personally prefer WO3 better compared the WO4, even prefer the series to end with 3
I just wish they utilize Kyuubi and Hundun more in the story.
The legend finally pulled it off and played all the mainline Warriors games and made a video for all three series :o
The Warriors Orochi series made me realize how silly some names for snakes are.
It's like any RPG mechanics, though. Not that I complain much.
true, I also enjoyed All Stars a whole lot but yeah getting the bonds up is super duper grindy that I gave up for a 100% because of it lol
"There becomes a clear gap in the Dynasty Warriors characters and Samurai warriors characters"
Looks at Lu Bu's 3rd charge with a century of I frames attack and Guan Yu's 1st charge attack that doubles attack, defense, attack speed, negates flinches and STACKS WITH ATTACK×2 AND DEFENSE ×2
The one thing I wish this series would of gotten is a proper Empires style game. Would be crazy and so fun.
Yo if they made empires they would have to include dw and sw levels
That would've been so cool!!
I just bought wo3 ultimate and man i’m excited 😭 this video was perfect timing hahaha
An amazing game, take your time and enjoy it
U’re not gonna be starved for content the amount of stuff packed into that game is Insane enjoy man! 👏👏
You got counterparts like Zhao Yun/Yukimura, could go on, but you get my point.
best season 2007 and 2008 Ps2 💔 Just👍🏻👑👑 beautiful days
The character interaction was the best. Especially the interaction between Xu Zhu and Hattori Hanzo.
Thank you for the wonderful comment. :)
I kind of want to see a Warriors Orochi Empires game
Playing every ROTK game enough to be able to review and rank them is one hell of an ambitious undertaking
I've wanted to play them all for a long time anyway. Making a video is just an extra bonus.
@@WildcatWeather Good luck and hope you enjoy them!
I played warriors orochi 2 for ages. Every character is unlockable through playing the story mode normally except for one. Orochi X requires you to unlock and complete every level in dream mode and the requirements for some levels are absurd. A real grind that isn't much fun.
And tbh orochi x is overrated. His good atk skill is c3 and r1 while i think that normal orochi has better moveset.
@@FoggyOp he looked much cooler though. Plus I haven't played the first game so Orochi X was the hyped up Orochi in the game
build the dream mode character to beat chaos is easy. its that one last dream mode that requires you to grind thousands of total proficiency from all character that made it such a drag
@@farikkun1841 exactly. If im not mistaken you need to get max proficiency of over 70 characters
Musou Orochi Z is basically WO1 and WO2 in one, but with a slightly readjustment system, adding extra character, different unlock requirement and some exclusive like VS mode
In Musou Orochi Z, if you want play WO2 content, you must clear WO1 first to unlock.
Warriors Orochi 2 Psp has Moz Content
Playing the first Warriors Orochi right now, and my immediate thoughts:
Archers are once again the devil (though obviously not as DEADLY as they were in DW3), and having just been playing Samurai Warriors 2 XL for a while, I already dearly miss the "horse health bar" rather than just one hit and knocked off.
I can't wait for the RotTK video. I got WO3DE when it came out on steam, I was as surprised as anyone when it released.
to me WO2 is the most balanced game moveset wise
dw characters moveset got heavy improvement so their attacks actually felt connected, they even removed sw2xl extra charge attack so dw & sw1 characters can keep up
I found this video after getting back into the Warriors franchise I used to love so much but haven't played since the PS2.
I didn't like using Mitsunari that much, I thought Cao Pi was pretty cheesy with his jump charge attack.
>Speed types are weak in WO1
Uuuuh, Mitsunari?
Suggestion for your next series...The Romance of the 3 Kingdoms series or the Nobanaga's Ambition games.
props to you man for really highlighting pros and cons of these series, I'm so ignorrant that I'm stucked loving only WO2. Thanks for giving much information of any other series, and BTW your points WO 1 & WO 2 in general is so accurate, props to you once again
Very educational. I love learning about video games.
The most overpowered character in Warriors Orochi 3 is Xiahou Ba, his R1 can increase movement speed and attack speed. Can perform EX attacks many times in a short time
One of my most anticipated videos of the year lol thank you for putting these together
What's more, you travel as party members like most RPGs. It's exciting, really.
Fatal Frame, Ninja Gaiden, Atelier, Dead or Alive, Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Toukiden, Warriors crossover with animes
do note that content from Musou Orochi Z (Which includes Benkei and Sanzang, the 2 new characters that were added in Z) can be found in the PSP port of Warriors Orochi 2
Oh I'm very much looking forward to the Rot3K video, I've been trying to find info comparing the games for ages but it's so hard to find.
There is so much effort in these videos
Appreciate it 🙏🏼
I been playing Orochi 4 as of late and pretty much everything you said was spot on in what I think. I’m having a really good time with it but the story is just so LONG.
Long but not as good as 3
You now know how I feel
I pretty much got the gist of the story even tho I skipped the dialogue lol, I beat the story now I'm just getting the characters 🔥🔥
@@montelhelem8707 Same. I just finished the side missions as well. Now I gotta play Chapters 6 and onward now. Having a good time still but I do wish there were more different levels.
@@coolcap2600 I wish it was more different ones too buddy fr fr 😭😭 who are your fave characters?
I think the Hyrule Warriors series was perhaps the most polished and advanced form of mosu games. Definitely check it out.
Thanks for the video, these are great to watch as a relative newcomer to the series. Not super familiar with ROTK outside of the original tale so I'll be looking forward to that
Mitsunari special move where he shoots the blades easily the easiest quick map finish in the first warriors orochi
This man has achieved something amazing hape he does the spin offs because I love this content
I definitely will do the spin-offs someday.
@@WildcatWeather that is quite the undertaking, I know there are at least 7 and that's not counting fire emblem and the random Gundam ones
I love orochi/samurai/dynasty warriors they are all so fun, but repetitive. Thanks for showing light to this series and playing them. :)
Will be good to see a video about all of the musou games that aren't connected to samurai warrior/dynasty/orochi games. Like gundam musou, berserk, zelda, etc
I love wo1 its something about the four weapons for each character i had So much fun gathering
One thing I would loved to have seen them bring in would be the mini games from the early samurai warriors. Me and my friend would play them for hours instead of the main game.
in chaos mode in WO1 my characters could literally die from ONE charge attack, or two regular nudges. good times!
Glad to see you back! This video was a great watch, I always enjoy your commentary and opinions on these games. :)
I’m glad to see some positive reactions to WO4 I love that game soooo much :D
Still still my only gripe with it is the repeated stages like shesh it got kinda got out of hand but it’s still so fun to go through ✌️✌️
I love it too! Just played it today? Favorite underrated character?
Bruh wo3 lives in repeated stages. It's literally the whole game.

Biggest crime in Warriors history. Still lament it to this day.
@@MK0437 selling their soul is what hurt me the most. WO3UDE isn't even a true definitive edition because there's still more DLC you have to buy.
have you ever heard of the capcom series sengoku basara ? its basically samurai warriors but, much more anime in style,id love to see a video about it.
Also played every musou games I even played games like arslan senki and berser lol, but I never had a time to play "all star" and DW9 which I heard was bad.BTW Really nice tier list man, totally agree with it 👍🏻
The best of the series is the Orochi games.
Warriors All Stars was a great game... still play it time to time
Watching this is really nostalgic since I played warrior orochi 1,2, and 3.
I suppose next is warriors games that use the gameplay but don't use the main series characters, gundum, one piece, hyrule warriors, for examples?
That said, I have yet to play a warriors game I hated, I loved even dw9 and all stars, will probably even enjoy samurai warriors 5.
I'll review all of them eventually.
You deserve more views bro.., Keep up the quality!!!!!!!
I want to like All Stars so much because I love the silly combination of characters but the lack of free mode or any other type of mode and not having units to order around makes it a bit annoying with the length of battles
God this brang back memories I remember playing og warriors orochi and ended up getting the 3rd one a few years later fire azz games
Cao cao specced for his aerial cheese my man
This video is amazing and you have a very good skill in making the viewer watch until the end, I really enjoyed the video thank you 🙏 Liked and Subbed!
My favorite hack, and slash crossover.
Insane! A lot of franchises can just be warriors games XD
3 words to induce nightmares... Dream Stage 27
Hot takes: WO4U is actually one of the best warriors game out there, but when WO3U is the golden standard, yes it does felt like massive downgrade
I grew out of these games I always wanted some blood, dirt and a little bit of gore it gets so boring beating hoards of enemies just flying around after u hit them some dismemberment and some rpg elements like bannerlord would make for such a good game I wish I could get back into these games
