...... I'll be right back
this video made me notice that we would never know if skall records these videos without pants and underwear
Curved Swords... ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Pommels?
Guilherme Theodoro "mace"
Guilherme Theodoro I seem to remember there being an unboxing where their Air Conditioning was busted or something, Cara and Skall both were dressed "lightly".
But then again, I might just be crazy. Wouldn't be the first time I remembered things that never happened.
Guilherme Theodoro Well, if Sean Connery likes to act without pants whenever he cans, then why would Skall not do the same?
SkallASMR, tingle them rightly.
Eduardo Moreno thank you I was lurking through the comments and thought someone had to have said it
"Tingle them rightly." sounds like the catchphrase for something that is for more mature audiences.
ender_scythe Like bubble wrap porn.
You know I was thinking he should make an ASMR channel back when he did some flint knapping, seeing him doing that was very relaxing.
Eduardo Moreno I would be up for it
You see those warriors from Hammerfell? They've got curved swords. CURVED SWORDS.
You see that guy named Matthias de Wit? He copied some else's comment. COPIED. A COMMENT.

Yeah, lol.
Everytime we buy something new that has bubble wrap, I just take it all.

Yeah, haha.
I never realized, until now, just how beautiful scimitars are. That is fantastic!
"That's a very unconventional pommel" ~ Skallagrim 2017
Oh man... that blade looks beautiful. I have to say it's a welcome change of pace from your usual purchases :)
oh and keep up the good work!
That is one good looking sword. It really catches my eye. Did I say that is one good looking sword?
Pin-writer, I don't think you did, say it again to make sure.
I love the sound of bubblewrap in the morning! It's the sound of new stuff to review!
Skalagrim you should embrace your meme nature more often
Their larger weapons are often not built with balance and 'wieldability' in mind, though they are rumored to be very resistance to structural damage; especially to the blade's edges. I look forward to your review and hope that you could test this item more harshly than normal. I like Sabersmith, though, and they are currently constructing my custom-designed dual-spear. :)
They did say "on demand", so you probably have to tell them you want one
Beautiful piece, I love the furniture and that blade is just immense. I've never seen a grip wrapped like that before, leather and wire? Nice.
Why didn't you open the box with the catfish pocket knife?! :-)
Aaron Walker that thing is a beast
The entire hilt looks so cool, also it's a two-handed scimitar which is an idea i love
Jesus christ that is one beautiful sword.
when he started talking about the bubble wrap it made me think of that scene when stewie is in the kitchen with bubble wrap and the bubble popping is that song i just havent met you yet
Prediction: sends back sword, keeps bubble wrap. Bubble wrap gets positive review. 😁
Beautiful blade! Thanks for sharing Skallagrim. Cheers!
I find it odd that a company calling itself Sabersmith doesn't actually produce any sabres.
You didn't look very hard, did you?
sabersmith.com/product/saber/
Touche'
God that site looks atrocious.
Wōtan if it looks like a duck sounds like a duck moves like a duck it's a fucking duck
Yep only a crossguard, severely lacking in the knuckle-bow that kinda sets sabers apart...
My RUclips subscription link works perfectly. I receive notifications every time you upload. Can't wait to see the torture testing on that sword to see how it holds up. Not that I need one, those Hammerfell guys are too ... weird
Real swords have throwable pommels.
whats interesting to me about sabersmith is that all of their products stay in line with a particular aesthetic (ie: the hand wrap, pommel, and hand guard construction) regardless of the blade/weapon. Even their maces and hammers have that same hand wrap and pommel style.
From what I remember, from handling them, they fall on more of the heavy side, especially the katana styled swords.
Curved. Swords.
They've got curved swords.
I was going to downvote you for unfunny memeing, but your avatar has melted away all hostility from my heart.
Pommel.... curved
@@whyjay9959 same
@@thatchannel195 ...It was a dog at the time.
THAT has got to be one of the best looking swords I've ever put my eyes on! WOW! 😍
I'm officially announcing that there are enough ''curved swords'' memes in this comment section therefore we need no more of them.
Emiel Regis Rohellec Terzieff-Godefroy Let them get it out of their system, or. it will end being a meme
You see this man from the comment section, he said no more. No more...
For some reason your hair looks so good in this video and noticably better than any other video you've made
real swords have curves
I bought my first real sword purchase from saber smith at the Georgia renaissance fair and it is beautiful with a gorgeous tempered coloring on the blade. Wonderful craftsmanship
All jokes aside that is a beautiful sword.
Have a saber from them otw. Pretty excited. After seeing your review and the prices they were offering for their winter sale I could not say no...
If you were going to chop down an entire oak tree with a sword, which sword that has been on your channel do you think would be up to the task?
morin22 Probably. That or the Diphos.
I'm Fyren if I remember the swords from saber Smith while being a little bit out of balance are supposed to be near indestructible
Classic, old Drizzt stuff... Cool
You see those smiths at sabersmith? They have curved swords. Curved. Swords
mastervule they make a khopesh too and a halberd
I remember you made a video of yourself just walking around outside at night and talking about stuff. I remember you talking about the possibility of AI used in video games. It was atmospheric and cool. Would like to see more vids like that.
Those warriors from Hammerfell have curved swords...
*CURVED SWORDS*
Mayhem Maysfood job copying the other guy
Bubber Fuckme Well the other guy copied a guard so, who's really the winner?

"it feels like a sword"
best review of an sword ever
you should open the boxes with swords. Like casually. Just show the box then casually grab your hanwei lowlander, or the knecht kriegsmesser and use the tip to cut open the box then just put the sword back. Like it's just lying there all the time causer you are a sword guy and have swords everywhere. Act like its no big deal and you do shit like this all the time. This would make me laugh.
Teddy Boragina then do it properly and use the lowlander. that would be hilarious
Teddy Boragina or just open them rightly, use the pommel.
Seriously though, with some video editing he could display the box on the right. Show himself wielding a blade on the left, ready for battle. He then unscrews his pommel and hurls it at the box. And in an explosion of cardboard and bubble wrap the sword is perfectly unboxed and shining, waiting for him to casually pick it up and review it. This needs to happen.
too good of an idea.
Teddy Boragina hes not that goofy
I was at a sabersmith store in a renaissance fair a few weeks back. The hilt construction is good on them which is about all I can say. All the blades are just bar stock that's fairly crudely hollow ground. The edge is so thick behind the edge. There's no distal taper on the blades since they're all bar stock. Several short swords with long sword hilts. They more or less got the feel right, but the blade work was so shabby for the price.
Skallagrim ASMR.
Man, that's a gorgeous scimitar...
Although I'm a trained fencer, when I used to spar regularly with friends of mine back in college (one of my friends made a LOT of padded training weapons that were weighted realistically, from a dagger all the way to a halberd), my favorite loadout ended up being the scimitar + madu combination (the madu is a short dual-pointed spear, but his version didn't have a small shield attachment). The curve of the scimitar made lunges incredibly tough for my opponents to properly block (as I'd tilt the sword just enough in mid-lunge to slide around their parry) and the madu was a great off-hand weapon both for defense and ranges that the scimitar wasn't ideal for (extremely close quarters and long range, really).
Not sure if that's an actual viable fighting style, but it worked well enough for me in our many sparring matches, especially since I didn't have the endurance for the heavier polearms, and I wasn't good at all with a shield. I'm not ambidexterous, but I am somewhat comfortable wielding a weapon in my left hand as long as it's a madu or light sword of some sort. :)
EDIT: That friend is the only reason I even know what a madu (or maduvu, if you're googling it) is. :)
they said they will make it razor sharp on REQUEST
This thing looks badass! Can't wait for your tests and full review of this one skall :)
Can you end rightly someone with the bubble wrap?
Diego Martín Lafuente a pommel wrapped in bubble wrap. :o
If it's a pommel made of bubble wrap then sure.
Diego Martín Lafuente force it down thier throat
No, but you can distract someone and use that time to end him rightly with another weapon.
Bought a nice dagger at the California ren faire. They supplied me with a new sheath for my grandfathers knife that fits it very well (which meant a lot to me because his knife is very sentimental). Happy with their work on the few things I got.The price at the faire is a bit easier on the wallet for their items, barring a sale on their website.
Real men have curves
No
Ah, I know this company, they're at Ren Fest here in Michigan every year, seeing as they are from here in michigan. Their shop is actually a few towns over from where I grew up at, and at one point I actually was offered to go and work for them, seems every year we always talk about it when I go to ren fest. Maybe one of these days I will actually get around to doing so.
You're supposed to point your knife towards Trott, actually.
The salmon boy!?
DanVR Well of course. #vactrott
I've never been a fan of scimitars but that's a really beautiful sword. It almost looks like something an elf would use in battle. Sexy thing
better curved than cursed
Fidelis Kurzschenkel Curses swords are the best though.
Have you not seen PoTC?
I think we need a GIF made of Skall playing with the bubble wrap. Ontopic, the weapon does looks pretty nice.
That thumbnail..
This is something for all ages. You're never too old to play with bubble wrap.
3:23 for opening
ccaarrttyy Good man
I was just browsing their wares on their site yesterday when I heard about them for the first time. And the next day Skal gets one.
you should put your category on education.
I bought one of their at a Renaissance fair YEARS ago in Wisconsin. An amazing blade.
Make a video of you just popping bubble wrap
April 1st video idea! :D
His facial expressions when playing with the bubble wrap had me cracking up.
''Are available on request'' ..keyword *request*.
Not normally a saber guy, but at 3:36 I audibly moaned at how pretty that is, I'm really really interested *before* the review and that's a rarity! Looks NICE!
9:11 minutes Canada did 9/11!!!
Omar سلوم I think you did
9:12 -_-
I like the curve in the handle. Seems like it would give good leverage to really put that weighted blade end to use.
Someone please make a 10-hour version of Skall popping bubble warp.
there's a reason that the Blades got that edge ,When You are using a battle ready blade ,This is the edge you want when you have any live blade action
"It feels like a sword" the best thing Skall has ever said about a sword.
But, y' know you can't unscrew the pommel to screw your enemy and end them Rightly!
these guys have a booth at my local renaissance faire every year. they make a good sword for introductory collectors of usable blades. the blades could be better made, by if i had to go into battle with it, i wouldn't be worried. they do make some cool types of swords, and they make warhammers that are NOT messing around. will likely get an axe for my collection eventually
And when the goblins come rushing out of your backdrop you've got it covered....
I own some Sabersmith stuff, purchased at RenFests. I've been superbly impressed with the quality and durability. No complaints at all, they make beautiful work, and their sales guys are fun and engaging as well. I'd highly recommend their products, having looked at many of them in person I've been wildly impressed with all of them.
I’d say it depends, some of their models seem rather too short and too heavy.
Their “Greatsword” is about 6 pounds with only a 33” Blade and 48” overall which should be a shorter bladed Longsword/Bastard Sword. Kind of outrageous considering the pricing.
While their Claymore is also listed as 6 pounds and is considerably longer overall at 58” While it’s listed at 34 inches for blade length they might have only taken the sharp portion into consideration for that measurement. That one is more reasonable
And then look at their Side Sword. Just 2.2 pounds. And has a good length, It’s probably their best sword.
And then their Katana at 2.6 pounds, Wakazashi at 1.4 pounds, and Odachi at 3.4 pounds. seem to handle and weigh pretty much how they should for the length.
Their “Viking” sword has an almost 26 inch blade and is 2.8 pounds. Also seems like one of their better options.
Just a tad heavy for the length but maybe nothing too bad being a one-handed sword under 3 pounds.
3:50
never would have thought that, having grown up with movies such as indiana jones, first thing i think of at the word "curved blade" is a scimitar... probably because here in italy nobody refers to katanas like "that's a curved blade!" but indeed do that for scimitars.
0:48 1:23 5:53 Oh, stop, you silly!
It's amazing. It looks like the replacement of the scimitar from the LeanWolf's Better-Shaped Weapons mod from Skyrim.
I know close to nothing about swords, and I've never really been into them. However, this sword is gorgeous. Considering buying one just to hang on my wall.
Gorgeous; Always wanted one of those for the wall.
Skall's face before he said "Who doesn't like the sound of bubble wrap?" - I was expecting a joke about ASMR.
AU where Skall makes ASMR videos with boxes, bubble wrap and swords!
Personally I think that looks stunning!
I saw them at the California Ren Faire. The prices made me nervous. I did like that they had a policy of "if you cut yourself, you buy it!" They seem very much oriented to fantasy looking weapons.
That scimitar looks really nice :) Can't wait to see how it performs in tests
That's quite beautifully made.
Skallagrim: Many trees shall be felled with this blade 😦
That scimitar is absolutely beautiful
That pommel - and wrap - is typical of Sabersmith's works. If you're ever at the Michigan Renaissance Festival (as a general rule I wouldn't advise it - quality's dropped off in recent years) you'll see a lot of rennies with Sabersmith works for the simple reason that there are only two constant weapon shops at the festival and Sabersmith is one of them. (The pirate ship used to be a third but they shut down. Now it sells garb.) I've been eyeing Sabersmith gear for ages but I can never afford it. I can't remember which shop in particular Sabersmith is, but I can definitely say it is either right next to the entrance or by the joust, and either way, directions are "Turn right when you get in and it'll be on the right side." The only difference is how far you have to walk.
@Skallagrim if you're still looking for other things to make videos about, have you ever tried tabletop wargames? In Her Majesty's Name, Lion Rampart, Frost Grave, etc. I'd be interested to know what you think of them, and it's just fun to watch you doing something.
What a BEAUTY , a wonderful sword. I think I've fallen in love
Bubble wrap popping is an amazing sound
In fairness to the enclosed paper, it did say training and razor edges are on request. As in it is something you ask for. So the edge in this blade is not necessarily the razor one. I'm not saying which edge is on that sword. I'm just saying that that should probably be established before any assumptions are made.
I'm glad you mentioned it's not too heavy, because that sucker looks like it weights a million pounds. Like it was more suited for executions than combat.
I would love to see Skall trying out some weapons crafted by Man At Arms, there are some good looking reasonable weapons, and then there are the fantasy weapons made in real life. I can imagine Skalls face trying out some of their weird fantasy swords xD
Looks nice, should be a great cutter. Looking forward to the destructive testing!
Popped bubbelwrap while saying '' you like that don't ya" = instant like
