The acting in this movie was excellent.
Good story. It was plausible. All of the acting was good. Costumes, etc. All good. I believed the characters and actually cared about them in a short time. That's good and efficient character development. You could make a TV series out of this.
Exactly !
I’m sitting here stunned. What did I just stumble upon? I’ve never seen better acting in a short film.
What a story you can tell in 22 minutes.. 22 minutes is an eternity when someone has 100% of your attention. Use every 22 minutes you have! Well done to the creator.. 🙌🏻
Wow! That just made my day! Thank you! Thank you watching and commenting!
❤
When 22 minutes is an eternity I’m not sure the storytelling is that great
@Guinness It's great alright
Just wow...
FANTASTIC study in moral dilemma and Americana! PLEASE tell me this won at least one award! Bravo!
The Western Genre is back on the menu!!!
This is an great story. The acting is excellent. The storyline is awesome. I like the cinema. Your choice of actors and actress is wonderful. I believe them. Thank you for showing me your movie.
I'm 72...this movie is as good as any western ever. Also another take on a heist gone bad.
Came here by accident. Very well done. Better than some movies ive seen
What a gem. Four movies like this are better than anything that comes out of Hollywierd.........
@DJ Griffin Bless your heart. We really appreciate your kind words. Thanks for watching! We love storytelling. Glad that you liked it. Much Obliged.
With great short films like these, I have no longing for hollywood anymore!!!!!!
This is the most perfect you can get with a short film
Top-notch casting. Distinctive faces with plenty of character. Very believable performances.
Great job.
+ssppeellll we were very fortunate to work with amazing actors. Thank you for watching.
Fantastic..better than some of the big budget Hollywood movies..well done!!
@Trevor Mills Thank you for kind comment! We worked hard to tell a compelling story with believable grounded characters.
Good acting, that black nurse maid played a great part, the coughing sheriff was excellent, and white lightning didn't let on to anything
It's shorts like this, that restores faith in the magic of motion pictures. Thank you, to all involved!

Now that's how you make a western. Acting was top notch for sure.
Thanks John. A lot of hard work and selfless people.
Circle Street Motion Pictures , mate that was awesome. Music, filming and especially ALL the actors were so convincing. That was one of the best cowboy movies I have watched. Well done to you all. Brent
Best 22 minutes of a movie I've seen in a long time.
This is the result when a film is made for love of the craft versus love of the box office. Well done.
I am 69 years young. I was raised up on and loving Western movies and television programs. Worked on one of my uncles ranch until my very late teens. I have always dreamed of the cowboy life. I am so happy to see westerns coming back into the cinema..
Just ..... WOW!
Have gun will travel with Richard boone 30 minutes. Some of the best ever.
Palladin,The Rifleman, Wanted Dead or Alive.
Nicely acted. The Sheriff looked like a real mean bad ass you don't wanna mess with when he was sitting down in the beginning.
Thank you for the kind words!
I wish this went on forever!!
When short movies are far better than hollywood
Let's keeping making them.
That's correctly spelled Hollyweird : )
Badseed Nut When you use a subordinate clause to write an incomplete, nonsensical sentence but you think it sounds profound.
Luffaman - always an ass in the bunch!
I have an immense amount of respect for anyone who can take 20 minutes and tell a story better than another who happens to have unlimited cashy money and 2 HOURS to work with!! Pretty sure back when that writer strike went down, the money men told em all to go kick rocks! They figured we can make comic book movies till forever! They didn't think for a second though, there will be people who are 'starving artists' that will come along and take down Hollywood with a few go pros and a good drone pilot! These shorts are getting better every day!
This is an excellent film. Thank you for sharing…
I’m a city-slicker (Los Angeles), but this film reminded me how much I miss a great “Western.”
Awesome! Too bad Hollywood can't make a decent Western anymore. Thank you!
The best short movie i seen posted here.stylish, good story, great scenes
One big problem with this, it's about an hour and a half to short.
Good job to all involved. Very entertaining.
Too
@@Shmulykas Really, that's the best you can offer, grammar policing....yeesh
AWESOME. THANKS FOR A GREAT WESTERN. 😇
I really enjoyed this. Good story line.
Sat down for lunch at work and was looking for something to watch and this showed up in my feed. Decided to give it a try. That was so great! I'd like to see Jim Cody Williams in more westerns.
A dark little western indeed.Love the chemistry between the dying lawman and his nursemaid.
Great Movie. Thanks again!🤗
I was 33 seconds in and I realized this was going to be better than usual. Great clever voice over to just introduce the robberies.
Thank you for this gift. Everything was top notch, which made for one of the most riveting productions I’ve watched in quite some time.
Stumbled upon this by accident. Best 22 minutes I’ve spent in a long time. Absolutely outstanding in every respect! Thank you for sharing your art with us!
You're welcome. Very glad you enjoyed the film. Feel free to share it with your friends and family. Cheers!
Yeah. As John Wheeler said.
@@CircleStreetMP lll))lllllll
I didn't even realise I was sitting here for 22 minutes, that is when you know your watching something good.
I agree.
Better than a two hour long movie,, Finally somebody gets it.., stop thinking out of the box, in the box thinking is Best...!!!!!!
This was excellently done, and it was a pleasure to watch. i subscribed, and would love to see more.
Better than most modern movies!
Amazing short. Told an an entire story of lives in 20 minutes flat. Acting was top shelf.
They were a privilege to work with. Amazing group of people. Glad you enjoyed the film.
The economy of the old 30 minute Gunsmokes!
This should be a series.
@Prone Rider 562 Thank you for watching. A series is something that we have considered. A massive undertaking…
We should all be grateful that we didn't have to pay a dime to watch this took a lot of money in a lot of effort to make this film thank you we appreciate that
Best western i’ve seen in a while, Thank you so much for this
I had Myke Holmes as a teacher. Great guy. I saw this film Premiere about five years ago and it’s still great!
why Western stories are so fking entertained? Loveee it!
6yrs has past and yet this is still being found and liked.. well done good writing and cinematography for what you had.. this is good!
Better than most full length movies I've seen lately.
Still cannot stop watching and wondering why this is not a feature film. Direction, acting, writing (Anthony Reynolds) it is all perfect.
@Adam AA Thank you kindly for taking the time to watch “Times Like Dying” amigo. Greatly appreciate your feedback! We worked hard to deliver a solid story! Thank you so much!
Outstanding! Bravo!
Wow this was better and better acted then most movies I have seen lately. time well spent...Well done
@bill Burke Bless you heart! We appreciate the kind words! Thanks for giving us 22 minutes of your day! Glad you enjoyed it!
Bravo, well done. Actors and actress are 1st class. Many thumbs up.
This is easily the best western short film I've ever seen!
Just found this and have to say it is excellent. When you have a good story, you really don't have to act. That's how I saw this. The actors became the characters. I love westerns and miss seeing good stories like this being told.
What a story! The Characters were built up quickly and precisely in minutes. A feat that no writer's I've known who can do this in cinematography so quickly? I bow to you genius.
Thank you for sharing your Art.
The acting was awesome.
@Karilee Anderson Thank you so much for watching and writing your lovely commentary!
Such gems prove that art of cinema is alive. Such brilliant results from small time projects and dedicated likeminded group of folks rise a question about film corporations in Holliwood actually choking the substance out of cinema. The surrogate Holliwood had been feeding us with gets increasingly hard to even digest. Why, oh why?
This excellent western is a little gem that escapes cliche. Writing, acting, photography were all great and the director used them all to advantage in weaving a memorable story.
Feelings were surely felt in this one!
Wasn’t the older guy in the beard in the movie Tombstone? Great film by the way. I love short films!! 👏 Bravo
That was really good and extremely believable.👍
What I like is the depth of character development each one brings to the story. So many of these short films have “flat” personalities, meaning I don’t get a feeling of individuality coming from the actors. These are true actors
Totally enthralling! Absolutely genuine!
if folks keep making great short films like this westerns will make a great comeback.
A perfect short film. Thank you.
A simple story simply told. Excellently written and acted, and fully deserving of the awards it has received.
David, Wow, thank you so much. It took a village to pull off this labor of love!
A right mighty good western
This was excellent. We never get enough westerns anymore.
That was friggin good. Really good.
That was amazing! Very well done. Excellent cinematography, great sound and score. Should be winning lots of awards!
cottonbrad thank you. Yeah, we have had a lot of success on the festival circuit. We've won an award or been nominated almost at every festival we've played. Very thankful to all the hardworking men and women that helped make this film.
Awesome ,i love western movies with meaning. Hope to see more
Great acting and charisma by the old guy. I'd like to see him more. He could fit right
wow, I love it, very very well done people.
I admire short stories. As a English teacher, the plot was stirring and the moral challenges between the players were concrete and enduring!
Thank you
From beginning to end cinema photography lighting actors and acting absolutely superb
@Roy Cairns Thank you kindly for watching our film and for your kind remarks. We greatly appreciate you!
I grew up on westerns, and this was one of the finest I have seen. Well done! It felt like it came out of a theater, but just one scene from the middle of the movie or something. I could have watched it for another hour!
Excellent short film. Fantastic
As a young boy I grew up on westerns from all the greats like Roy Roger's, the Lone Ranger and John Wayne. I have been wanting something like this for years! This was amazing!
Stunningly beautiful film. Truly art in our time. Thank you.
@Donald Monroe Thank you very much for watching and for your kind words!
Damn that was well done
Well worth watching for the wonderful acting.
This was really good. What I really liked about the show about the older man, is that he wasn't a bad man, he was just desperate and wanted to save his farm and everything that he worked for, and he saw no other way to do it.
I wish they had made a sequel to it.
This is very short - but also very good. Worth the time.
A little gem of a film... gave the feeling of the time and the situation - and of course the characters.
Ken Hutley it was a challenge to do in such a short timeframe but we are glad you enjoyed it.
Love it. Great stuff. Well done I hope it gets you somewhere.
Fantastic! Very well told and performed. I'm from the south and these guys all have the right accents. Better than Hollywood by a large margin.
If ya notice they say "yins" which is a trademark of Appalachia.
Fantastic!
What a great 'little" film. More guts, brains, and logic than mainstream releases. The score was excellent, as was the acting, editing, and direction. Very well done.
@Riskmangler What a great handle you have! Thank you for watching “Times Like Dying” A lot of blood, sweat and tears went into making this little film. Thank you for your comment! We truly appreciate every view and comment!
Better than most of what's on TV.
this kept me interested, I loved the escalating tension, the pacing, the authenticity, all of it. It shows when a good man gets desperate enough to do a wrong in hopes of making something right, and then worse, teams up with those who are truly evil , it never ends well.
a great failing of most good men, is not understanding just how evil some men can be, and just how dangerous it can be to trust them.
Amen to that brother
Excellent piece of work
Not bad.Not bad at all.The Western genre is in high demand. It is very difficult to find a modern western that isn't infected with politics. Please continue the genre. You will reap many rewards. Thanks again.
Thank you!!!
Goes to what is known as common sense .
Clear to see the difference between pride and Integrity.
Pride is the bad seed.
The best westerns these days are not traditional westerns. Hell or High Water for example.
The exact same thing can be said for nearly ANY western ever made... From the high profile ones to the b-movies. From the 20's all the way up into the 00's. It's a big reason why the genre was made in the first place. It's a simplified setting to throw all sorts of complicated things at. Politics is one of the main ones. (Just watched Shane again, last night...it's all over that movie).
James Avery can't get any more political then bank robbery, banks being corrupt & in the pockets on every level of government, even if there *_IS_* *_NO_* discussion of politics in the movie. Action against politics is just as loud as words, nonviolent action is always better though.
Wow. I am blown away. Jim Cody Williams was unreal. "I can still do it! I can get our farm back!" Can't wait for you guys to have a full length feature.
Wow! That's about all I can say. This one definitely needs to be made into a full length movie. Same actors, same outfits, same everything. One of the best short films I have yet seen and well deserved of all the praise it has gotten and shall receive. Well done gentlemen. Very well done indeed.
Thank you!
Good cinema. Better than a lot of empty movies...
I was never a western film fan growing up, except for the, " Lone Ranger." The newer westerns released this past decade have been so wonderful. God bless the, " Hell On Wheels," crew for giving us a more realistic look into the past. I take my cowboy hat and boots off for you guy's as well, superbly done.
Sincerely,
Jonny💰🔫👢🤠
Great movie!
That is one awesome short film . I enjoyed it so much that I have watched it twice . Thanks to all of you that put this together for our entertainment.
Amazing!!!!!
Wow! I am not easily impressed. This was better than MOST westerns from Hollywood. Good Storyline, drama, acting, music, camera work, and video editing!!! I only wished there was more!
So well done. Story and all.. Few movies make me want to watch them again.
