LYRICS:
I’m gonna hold my cards close
Cover my scars and mostly tell you little lies
I hope you never know this
Kind of loneliness that’s eating me alive
If I pretend I never cried
And my daddy raised me right that I pick myself up when I fall
That I don’t need a helping hand
On my own two feet I stand will you come running when I call?
Is it all right with you if it’s all wrong with me?
Cuz it’s all right with me if you wanna be set free
I’ll set you free
It wasn’t my intent
Maybe I should not have spend all my money tryin’ to make it
I don’t know how I never saw the writing on the wall
Telling me to fake it
Is it all right with you if it’s all wrong with me?
Cuz it’s all right with me if you wanna be set free
Every morning we wake up I see you lying there
The tangle of your sweet embrace
Whispers in the air
Skin to skin and eyes locked in
Are you really there
Are you still there
Will I be there
Is it all right with you if it’s all wrong with me?
Cuz it’s all right with me if you wanna be set free
But who will love me when you go?
Don’t say good bye just shut the door
I wish you could have told me
I wish you could have told me
I’ll be all right…

3 women, 18 strings, no drums, no keyboards, just them and their voices. A pleasure to hear.
Best of all - no backup dancers, costume changes, and production numbers! Today's youth can have that.
I haven't seen this in a while. I forgot just how personal and heartfelt it was. Strong emotional current beneath the surface.
couldn't have said it better
I heard this in my car on the way to work and as soon as I got to my desk I had to look it up. Y'all. Please, keep making music. This is so beautiful. It's hardly ever anymore that music makes me feel anything. Well done!
One word: sonority. The vocal textures are about as tight as it gets. The blending is unbelievable! Fits in so snug with the strings. Amazing.
I am utterly speechless each time I find new music by these ladies. I am so humbled and thankful for what they do. Please never stop!
There’s always much to like and admire with these three musicians. Although it shouldn’t work well the occasional voice singing the same part actually does. Timing is so good on those sections that it sounds almost like a studio double track…although it clearly isn’t. Great job as always
Well those 3 part harmonies are perfect. Holy cow!!
The three undiputed goddesses of folk music together! today is a good day.
One more Goddess to throw in there, Alison Krauss, but it's already perfection! 💛💙💜
Yea its better when they don't wear lipstick its try hard, and better to be recognized for music not looks
@@corysmith3447 why can't a woman be known for her music AND her looks? Are you saying that pretty girls can't make good music too?
@@joepegel because lipstick is fake, its not natural beauty thats like a man walking around with a fake crotch or fake muscles
@@corysmith3447 So it's not just musicians, it's all women. That makes sense, and it's consistent. I disagree with it, but I understand it now.
This song is so beautiful it almost hurts.
it does
Can't miss magical experience with these gals ! So very talented in vocal and instrumental skills - Just a Joy to hear. GBjj
Such a haunting melody. Absolutely love the tight harmonies and gorgeous counterpoint that Sara adds on the violin! Reminds me in a good way of the best of Peter Bradley Adams and The Weepies! Can't wait for a full-length album!
As I said before, I'm with all three of them
This is such a phenomenal song performed by incredible musicians. I keep coming back and I can't believe it's only been recorded 3 years ago, I must have listened to it hundreds of times already and I have yet to get tired of it :)
when i saw this video for the first time (on my 30th replay so far), i immediately thought of crosby, stills, and nash; not because their sounds are the same, but because each of these three come together already succesful and unique. the new magic they create together is, as with csn, better than their separateness - even though each woman is an awesome talent. we are so fortunate that they found each other.
commenting on my own post: my words were supposed to be attached to the "little lies" vid.
yes. loved these girls separately (especially sarah jarosz been following her since she was still in high school) but together... WOW!! :)
Exactly right. CSN had singular strengths x 3 and the result hasn't been approached. Until now. From me that is the highest laud. I'm seeing them in March...can't wait.
well stated
Also reminds me of CSN because my brain just goes "holy shit, those harmonies".
One of the best songs I've ever heard
Exquisite, and stunning harmonies.
Their voices are mesmerizing.
Still not over this, soooooo good ❣️
Beautiful song, beautifully done!
this song is PURE MAGIC .............
Awesome harmonies. Exceptional blending of voices and instruments.
Just saw them in ATL. Had NO idea they were with the Punch Brothers and almost flipped out when they walked on stage! Best concert I've seen in decades! Thankful my sister bought me a ticket :)
Just stumbled upon them...I did see a video of Sarah with Alison Krauss on Transatlantic Sessions when she was much younger, so I looked into her. They are touring in Feb. 2019 near me. Wondered if the show was worth the $$ and the travel time?
That sounds like one hell of a show!
Undoubtedly the finest song I've heard in the last few years.
Sounds like 3 angels singing, I don't even hear words.
This song is so breathtakingly beautiful... they're amazing!!! Just discovered and immediately fell in love.
I just saw these three at the Pabst in Milwaukee, I knew nothing about them. They are incredibly talented and succeeded in making a fan out of me
Love this song and all the tight harmonies. Absolutely beautiful.
I love this so much
Incredible. Best folk band for years. Whish they would make a full album.
Man they are sooooo tight and locked in, and that subtle fancy foot work on the strings 🤯
Angels.
Gives me goosebumps listening to music like this, love Watkins little fiddle meanderings ... the album 'See You Around' is also superb.
There's something absolutely heartbreaking about this song.
Stunning ! Beautiful voices and harmonies!
This is beautiful.
Sheer perfection. I have been following Sara since the first Nickel Creek album, Sarah since I first heard "Run away" but Aoife I was just introduced to with "Crossing Muddy Waters". Keep this up. You have a lifelong fan in me!
Go back and look up a band called Crooked Still. That's where I found Aiofe, through Sarah.
Aoife also was on a couple songs on the Goat Rodeo Sessions. Recommend it!
I happened to see her, as a brand-new-fan, when she played one night in Saxapahaw, N. C. , just 2 miles from our farm. What an incredible experience!! I am thrilled to find someone "new", (this was over a year ago), to follow, and who brings so much to the music world . Young, and already an amazing rising star with a talented voice and an equally outstanding musician, she performs clearly through her love of it. She brings us music rooted in the culture of many historical times and people. It connects the "mountain-ese" folk music, with classic hauntingly beloved gospel that is as ancient as and born through the souls bound in slavery from their homelands of Africa, to the performers of the '60's with strong words , in a voice as perfect as Joni Mitchell, touching on the gifted and now Hall of Fame and Nobel top writers & musicians like Bob Dylan and N. C.'s Doc Watson, joining many Nashville-bred & nurtured stars like Loretta Lynne and Patsy Cline. Whew! Seeing her in "The Haw Ballroom" was surreal. She stood within an acoustically-designed theater, alongside a group of buildings all built and designed inspired by and from pieces of the former mill where it stood. Finally there exists new life from the former rubble of brick and steel.
The three purest voices in one place! Can't wait to see you guys at Newport!
absolutely spectacular
Gawd I love this band - I'm With Them.
WOW! Just WOW! I saw them last year at a festival. Literally breathtaking.
I'm heartbroken that I missed seeing them live with Punch Brothers in Atlanta last month. Truly breathtaking performers.
Hiding behind the breathtaking beauty of their voices lie some pretty good lyrics. If it gets any better than this, I've never seen nor heard it. And it seems, at least, that they are all "grateful"
for their success and have some real humility helping them along. Never stop you three. Play it all - covers, classics, and anything that grabs you by the strings. I like all I've heard. MORE!
What a great trio!! Love the harmony!
Gonna be spinniin' Little Lies on my show this sunday night - tune in
Absolutely incredible. Im hooked. Harmony of angels!!
loved all of you for years! so glad this is finally happening.... such beauty is a crazy world!!
Remember this was an outtake from See You Around. An outtake!
Brilliant harmony singing, I am getting even more excited each time I' m listening.
Wonderful performance in Cincinnati last night!!! Thank you for the memories and sharing your talents!!
Never better delivered "I'll set your free...." Magic; all of it.
These ladies are amazing together and on their own. I'm driving from north of Dallas Tuesday going to OKC to see them live and can't wait.
I'm with them! What talent.
Perfect
I agree.
I'm so happy ! Thanks !! - I'm sure i'm not the only one waiting for an album !! This song is really great. The sound is really good, too !!
The female equivalent of Crosby, Stills & Nash. Consider this as a massive YES
Crosby a HUGE fan of the 3.. :) ruclips.net/video/HToFV6533bs/видео.html
OMG, that was so beautiful !!!!! Please release an album. You are incredibly talented. Thank you for this offering.
wow we are going to see you ladies in concert on August 12 th of this year along with the Punch Brothers in Cincinnati I cannot wait!!! We saw Aoife at Centre College in Danville along with Willie Watkins earlier this year as well.
Awesome-- can't wait to hear more!
Another precious discovery on RUclips! Immaculate!
Damn this band is amazing. I love what they've released. Hopefully there's a full album to follow at some point. Is there any better Americana supergroup? I think not.
There's an album being released july 29th. Check out their website!
A 6-song EP, not a full-length album. 5 tracks recorded live in Dec. 2015. Maybe sometime in 2018 they'll record a true LP album.
Badfish HenryYeah but the question was "better than this". ;-)
new album and tour 2018 tickets went on sale this morning
Dixie chicks
VERY NICE!
Love the new album. Thanks for bringing beauty into this world.
SO GOOD. Looking forward to the show in Atlanta!
Another masterpiece!
Perfection!
This is gorgeous!
Stunning!!
Harmonies are great but I love what you guys do with unison singing here and there. Sounds great.
Magnificent song and well done, ladies!!!
Stunning!
When girls bound together... :) you are amazing!
WOW! Now that is synergistic harmony! I don't believe I have recently heard such synergy in any group lately. A lot like P. Brooks wrote here in the comments, a lot like Crosby, Stills and Nash. I would certainly concur with P. Brooks. I hope they can stay together and as Anson Burtch in the comments wrote "Hopefully there's a full album to follow at some point".
Beautiful, what more can I say?
deepest love for these three talented ladies. Come to Milwaukee or Madison Wisconsin!
Very, veu beautiful and Sweet... Thanks💙💫
Very Good = Really Sweet = Good Sound = Nice Vocals = Really enjoyed
I feel like I should've listening all along.
that is so good
damn these hunnies are amazing
greatness
Awesome!
♥️♥️♥️
The very best all female supergroup in bluegrass music.
Beautiful! I'm so happy Hailey Gardiner sent me!
Damn these girls can sing!!😎

Seen each of these ladies at the Strawberry Music Festival separately and I LOVE the collaboration in I'm With Her. Hope to catch them somewhere close soon. Meanwhile, I MUST buy the new CD.
Holy SHIT!
Their debut album was just released a few days ago!
Alright!!!
I prefer Sarah Jarosz individually but in I’m With Her Aoife steals the show with her vocals. That saying all the instrumental playing is equally brilliant amongst the three of them in my opinion
OMG
Watkins teasing me
More real music, thankyou . .....
Synergy, redefined
I missed most of their performance on Jimmy Kimmel on 4/5/18 but it seems their earlier stuff is a little bit more bitter... I hope they have founnd more happiness in life because they are super talented and they deserve love and success
So lovely! (Who downvotes something like this?)
dying to know what tuning the guitar is in!
Transplendent!
Thank you!
I live in the UK and was lucky enough to see these 3 fine singer/songwriters & musicians as a trio here in Bristol on 21 April 2015, and I have also seen Aoife solo here and also Sara Watkins as part of a Celtic Connections tour. I note that this 6 track EP can be pre-ordered but only in US$ so I am hoping I can order it here in the UK with our currency. I will wait awhile with all digits crossed. I enjoyed hearing this recorded track, the only one on the EP that isn't a live recording I believe. I hope they plan to do a UK tour at some time, maybe early next year to promote the EP.
That's also the word Shelly Duvall used to describe the Maharishi in "Annie Hall". Probably more appropriate here.
You can thank Mary Spender for another subscriber here. And added this song to favourites list.
