- Labor Day weekend ... spent doing what we do best! Baling and putting up Hay. We baled roughly 320 Big Squares in three days. The Baler was throwing some fits that caused a little bit of frustration and time spent back at the shop.
But all ends well! The hay got baled and we spent all Monday hauling it in to nearly fill half the new barn (50x75x19’)

You guys are young…. You guys are strong.. just found your channel a few days ago… in a few years your kids will be old enough to help with the heavy tasks… you live a good clean life and you will be rewarded
To reap and sow, to plant and mow, to be a farmer's wife!
Amen ... I’m one of the lucky ones 💓
Glad you made it though okay and this was not an OSHA recordable event.
Be safe, take care!
Luv your vidios keep it up 😘
Just remember the hardest days will be the best days that you remember! You’re making great memories for your children! Charles
Brings back memories of our farm in wa. State.
Been raining here in Iowa for about 3 straight days so I say the dry spell is over for awhile. Look at the great memories being made with the kiddos. Sounds like another great crop of hay.
We got a little over an inch last night! It was well needed that’s for sure! Thanks for taggin along
We just finished our hay for the season. It is such a great feeling to be finally done.
We have a couple more weeks left to go. Weather permitting.
I've said this before but boy do you wear me out with the walking and all the work you both do mainly alone keep your chin up young lady 👩
6 and 6 just like when i used to del milk the stacks of milk crates where 6 high and 6 rows wide.
Is that an Australian cattle dog I saw? Anyhoo...I'm enjoying the videos! Stay safe - be well - many blessings.
It’s a Blue Heeler - we have a Female (Sky) and A Male (Ryder, who typically goes along with us) that are working cattle stock ... but we also have Mini Aussies that are our “house pups”.
@@ChroniclesofKayla Thought so...and they be super intelligent dogs too. I have a friend in Australia who told me those cattle dogs resulted from a guy cross breeding the Aussie dingo with the English cattle dog way back in the day. I've yet to see a Red Aussie cattle dog state side. My neighbor has two Blue Heeler's as pets. Thanks for the reply.
Lots of hay in a race to beat the rain, hay looking good. When taking how wide of an area do you cover, and do you straddle a wind row or drive over them? Tagging along with you!😎😎
Some size of a trailer!
The work is never done on the farm though but you’ll get there
Hope every thing goes better also the equipment stays working. Now I'm only asking I seen a guy do this in Canada only one person on beef cows with the nasty bad flys he said he mixed a little of diesel fuel in with a fly spray and instantly no flys dont know if u have seen or heard of any one doing this to get the cows releaf. It is great your new barn is done and your liking it now, have a great day.
I just found your channel yesterday I'm really enjoying your videos how many acres do y'all have
I like how you pronounce Bull, kinda sounds like bool when you say it,cracks me up.my Massachusetts accent would be hard on you.
Wouldn’t racking and baling done at the same time with one tracker be more efficient?
For some - but not very often do we get to rake and follow with the baler - most of the time we need to rake it - let it air. Then bale in an hour or two - when we large square bale it’s a little different.
We called it a hay shed
You sure walk a lot.
May I ask why you didn't put sides and a back on the new hay building? Just wondering.
When you do baling right behind the rake,i take it the hay doesn't need anymore drying time?i,m so used when i grew up on the farm i would rake hay late morning and then we wouldn't bale it until after lunch.
Right!! The hays ready to go!! Low moisture high temp days we can be ready to go right after lunch - not very often can I Small Square Bale right behind the rake like you can on his Big Square.
👍👌🇨🇦❤, oh ya, here we go,
+how much hay do you put up in a typical year? thanks
2019 - 42,000 ( with the help of 2 hired hands and additional 130 acres)
2020 - not quite 29000 .... and we cut out that 130 acres and didn’t have all of second cut hay we typically do .:: and no hired hands.
If you are tired, why not drive more?
Find a dealer that sells krone big pack balers they work lots better
How big is the new hay barn?
54x75x19 ☺️
@@ChroniclesofKayla Who makes the barn? I going to build one soon. Thanks
We used A local guy who’s done majority of our Constructions - Kevin Welch.
Two kids that young should not be riding that tractor alone! All it would take is the blink of a eye... Neither one knows the potential for danger... Wow! That takes my breath away! I saw a little boy killed when I was 12... he fell off the tractor and was run over before it could be stopped...
That's part of the risk growing up on the farm. Wouldn't trade it for the world - just part of life.
@@rickhammer2374You miss my point!!
I've been around farming most of my life "I'm 76", but I don't do stupid things!! As a parent you have the responsibility to protect your kids from situations they don't know enough about... so because of your ignorant attitude you visit them in the hospital or you bury them... are you then gonna say... "Well I guess you learned not to do that again"... There may not ever be another again!! I knew a "father" 40 years ago who gave is 6 year old boy a pocket knife and say to go out and play... Taught him NOTHING about the danger of that little knife... That boy, ran across the yard in the back of the house, and never came back!! Now, do you really what to talk about your stupid comment? It's hard enough to be safe and careful when you're adult... much less when your a kid and know nothing about the dangerous things in life!!
beautyful videos brava kiss kiss da rome ita💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💋💋😘😘😘😘🌹🌹🌹
Do you reply back to any of your fans comments Farmer Wife??
They don’t have time with all that hay
csanch64 she does now and then but very selective. Lot of wasted time.
O’Neal Farms
Gotcha.
Thanks for letting me know
Tom Harrington
I appreciate you letting me know and thanks Tom
I try to reply - when appropriate - or when asked a question regarding the farm or Hay / Cattle. And I try to be respectful... but the Channel is the last on my “priorities” list as I am a Wife & Mom first. Thank you & have a great day.
Say your last name ....
