In theory yes it could. The Japanese Central bank periodically steps in and stabilizes the yen. If Japan were to experience any meaningful inflation that no longer allowed them to do that, then it would likely turn into a bad situation for US bond markets
Your definition of inflation is way off. Inflation is driven by the increase of money supply. The government is pumping trillions of dollars into the economy. Currently that inflation is shared with the global economy. As BRICS expands you will see more of that cash flowing back to the US.
