Man I miss George Carlin. He was GREAT!
Silas, My wife and I went to a Carlin concert once and after the hour and change, both of us hurt in the following ways... Our cheeks from smiling, our eyes from both tearing up and squinting in laughter, our ears hurt from the muscles used to smile and open our mouth to laugh were strained all the way back to our ears, our neck hurt from all the times we tossed our heads back in laughter, our stomachs hurt, our ribs hurt, our diaphragm hurt and our feet hurt from all the times we stomped the floor with all the hilarity. I guess that what I'm saying is... get used to it George Carlin is the GOAT! 🤣🤪
45. You’re the man, glad you’re experiencing one of the greats. First saw his comedy 6 years ago when I was 18. Dumb Americans blew my mind, Driving destroyed my abdomen. He’s a treasure, full of wisdom and laughs.

When I was in my twenties I was coming home from a club and there was no cars around or people. I just wanted to get home so I would stop at each red light, look both ways and then just go. It was about the 4th light that the police light went on. I was honest with him and he was very nice and only gave me a ticket for running one red light. I’m seventy now and I haven’t run a red light since 😬

Yeah, the first time I ran a red light even in the middle of the night...there'd be a cop hiding behind a building just waiting for someone to do that. Some of us just can't win for losing.
I've never seen this routine, but I was hoping it would include one of my favorite lines by him: "Ever notice that anyone driving slower than you is an idiot, and anyone driving faster than you is a Maniac!"

I never run a red light, not even in the middle of the night. The primary reason is that I knew of two people (who I knew personally) who, in two separate incidents, ran a red light at 4:00 a.m. or so and got hit by a large truck and got killed. The truck was going so fast it couldn't stop and the car drivers were so convinced that no one else was on the road that they got lazy and didn't look carefully enough. They were killed instantly.

Just a suggestion, on your Mystery Mondays... To avoid confusion as of what side of the 45 to play, just play both sides, the songs are relatively short and would not take up much more of your time. That's all.. Cheers!!...
I wish we could hear him commenting on the people texting while driving. Or parents at their kids sports games with their heads in their phones. Necks bent over.

I used to live in NYC, late at night in Queens, we (or many people) considered red lights as stop signs. If there's no one there, check for red light cameras and cops, and then just go, F it. It's because all lights are on timers and there are too many of them.
Oh yeah and those people who put on their turn signal during the turn, or a millisecond before. Just don't use it at all if you're gona do that!

His comedy album, The Button Down Mind Of Bob Newhart, was number one on the billboard charts in 1960. It is possible to find videos of his live performances, but I think the sound quality of the versions at these links is better. I think that his routines are fairly unique and I'll be interested to see if the humor translates to a college-aged young man in 2024.🤔😀

Oh, u r still alive? No sun worshipper. No skin cancer? Car driver? Or Carl in driver? Dunno? uhhhh.... cheap jokes on George. But he would have love it... possible. So i asked myself (when Geoge passed away on 2008) how old u might have been then... ok, i could google u out, but i am not a stalker (maybe in my dreams, but that's another story). U know what the best in ur reactions is? Guess u know it, but if noit, i wanna tell u: ur laughing... kinda honest laughing, that can't hold u back, or ur back - as George would say: think about it! :-D
I love Carlin's stuff about religion, but a lot of his other comedy is very over-rated, i think. So much of it is so simple, and not very insightful.
