- No. 10 Oregon football handled No. 19 Colorado in their Pac-12 opener with a 42-6 win in Eugene on September 23, 2023. Bo Nix had four total touchdowns and had 276 passing yards. Troy Franklin caught eight passes for two scores and 126 yards. The Oregon defense sacked Shedeur Sanders seven times. Michael Harrison caught the lone touchdown for the Buffaloes.

Colorado has some good athletes at the skill positions, but watching them for the first time last week against Colorado State I thought they looked tiny up front on both their offensive and defensive lines.
That got exposed in a big way today. They’re just not big and physical enough up front to realistically compete with teams like Oregon.
Deion will recruit really well so that part of their roster should improve. In a year or two maybe they’ll be able to match up physically with teams like this, but for now this is their reality.
They’re headed in the right direction, people just really need to slow down on the hype. In a year or two after his recruits develop we’ll find out what Colorado will be long term.

Thank you, Oregon Ducks, for openin' a big ol can of ass whuppin' on Colorado that was such a joy to watch. It made my day to see Mr. Sanders get his comeuppance for his incessant mouth running. I want to take a moment to say as an SEC fan that I was heartily impressed by the crowd at Oregon and the fire they displayed throughout the game that was in all respects over by the 2nd Quarter. Sometimes as SEC fans we get so arrogant that we are the only Conference that knows how to play College football in our massive stadiums. That performance I saw yesterday in a relatively smaller venue was as loud at times as I have ever heard at Neyland Stadium or Bryant-Denny. Well done Ducks and good luck on the rest of the season.

Colorado offensive Line needs bigger guys! Period! A true weakness seen today in CU offense.
Both lines need bodies. On both sides of the ball Oregon beat Colorado at the line of Scrimmage. Because of that, Bo Nix was upright for most of the game, Shedeur Sanders was not. Like Deion said after the game, it was a good old fashioned butt kicking.

I'm not a huge fan of Sanders, especially at the X's and O's level, but if he can build the hype, he can attract the players he needs. 'Course that also implies Sanders is at CU for the long-term. Which I kind of doubt, but we shall see.

Not just a ranked team, but a team that will still be ranked fairly high when the season ends. It's always laughable at the end of the season when they say a team beat X ranked teams, and it turns out that three of them didn't finish ranked. They were just ranked in September and October when they played, then went on to lose 6-plus games. :)

Colorado played an upper tier, not even elite, program this time and everyone with common sense knew this would happen. They were outmatched in every aspect of the game. One two-way player wasn't going to make a difference.
Remember, Oregon basically quit playing in the 4th quarter. This score could have easily been 14 points more lopsided.

Not saying all, but some of the CU supporters are a little sensitive. Its football. CU is likely to get a whole lot better, God willing, over the next few years. It's too bad they wont be in the Pac 12, or anyone else for that matter. Still ticked the conference management screwed that up so badly. The Buffs just aren't there yet, however with Deion Sanders heading the program I'm sure they will be getting a good share of 4-5 star recruits.

This was a good loss for Colorado as they have been playing on emotions and can now start playing on fundamentals. They weren't going to be undefeated nor the NCAA National Champions, so this was a good early season wake -up call. Best regards for the rest of the season.
