Probably THE BEST video on this that I've watched today.
'Driving to work at 6 am, my '07 Avalanche starting chiming as if a door was ajar, but the chimes were very rapid. I looked at the dash and saw "LOW OIL PRESSURE - TURN OFF ENGINE". I freaked. I put in a quart of oil that I carry with me, continued to work. Just as I was pulling in, same thing. Same message, same audible chimes. I said screw this... drove home, called in to work to explain, booked my truck into the dealership (yah I know - I try to avoid them like the plague too).
Another problem that started a few weeks back is the message SERVICE PARK ASSIST - and my rear backup sensors no longer work. The dealership called a few hours ago saying a new sensor install would be $451 Cdn. $251 for the single sensor, $50 to paint to match truck colour (black - they're black anyway), and like $150 to install. It's a $7 sensor, that plugs in and out with your fingers. I ordered a 4-pack off eBay for 25 bucks.
I'm DREADING what they're going to say tomorrow (my truck was actually booked in for tomorrow morning but they had a chance to look at the park assist this afternoon). Those sensors are like $70 Cdn. Install as shown in this video is about 10 minutes. I'm sure they'll try to charge me $300 for the part and $700 for install.....
Thanks for watching and commenting!
Your problem may have actually just been the little filter screen underneath the sensor. That's all it was for me!
Very well done and sound information and advise. I will change out mine tomorrow. Thanks again !
Important note is there is a very small filter screen under the pressure sensor that is usually dirty, throwing bad oil pressure readings. $5 buy from any autoparts store!
I have a 2011 and i just came accross this problem myself i will use this information to correct it again.. thank you again
Thanks for watching and commenting! How'd it go?
I have a 2007 Chevy suburban 1500 that needs the same repair. I’m going to try to fix myself, this video was helpful ty.
Thanks bro. I'm a big guy that has to change it alone.lol but I'm sure I can do it.
Thanks for the video. Got to change mine on the 2007 Tahoe. Great help.
Glad the video helped!
Great video. I’m glad your pointing and not just talking.
Thanks for watching and commenting!
Great video, this was really useful for me , thanks.
there's a filter under it that needs to be done also. IMPORTANT
If you cant get the filter out it is okay. Not worth taring up inside. An old indian trick use a 4" lag bolt & screw into old filter and it pulls out easy
Thank you for the video u help me to save money.
Helpful. Good to know. Good to learn.

Thanks for the video, I did this on my 95 Tahoe years ago, the placement is still similar on my 07 yukon, except now there is less room... i'll get it off.. but dang its tight even compared to your Silverado, I didn't have a 27mm socket so I just bought the "official" socket
Thank for watching and commenting! Good luck!
Great video! I’m going to replace mine today!!
How'd it go?

Thanks for watching and commenting!
Finding out the hard way that little dam filter sitting under it made the lifters tick after changing it...... now it's quiet never would have thought there was one and how important it is, cheap too.
Changing the screen made the tic or not changing it?
what size deep socket did you use
Going to do mine soon...07Chevy Vmax gauge reads fine engine light doing its on off thang it's off for now... but the job will be done ... By me....🎛🛣
Please tell me what tools you're using?
yes definitely the sensor need to be replaced that thing just broke on ya!
yep
You forgot to pull the screen out very important to pull it out and cleaned is located inside where the sensor is located
oops! next time...
actually it is the screen filter that it need to be removed and replace it
Bedolla how were you able to get it out?? I can’t seem to find a way
Carlos Hernandez buy a new one find a bolt that fits in the new one snug...stick the bolt down the oil switch hole like your threading it into the filter and just pull it out
Would you know where I can get this for my 2007 Silverado (new body) the links you provided no longer work. Thanks in advance

Hello. I have a 2010 silverado. Ive changed the sensor and screen below the sensor. Currently at hot idle i sit at 20PSI. Im Still getting the code after resetting it, it comes back after about 10 miles. Any ideas?
@@TDIETZ22 Maybe the sensor you installed is defective. Maybe wiring is loose? I would ask a mechanic at this point.
@@MeNotBrainWashed yeah its getting to that point. Doesnt make sense, both sensors showed i was in the perfect operating range for PSI at all times. No ticking or knocking. Starting to wonder if i should just change the oil and filter
So watched the video and felt fairly confident I could tackle this job. Bought the part for 50 bucks at Auto Zone and a 27mm deep socket for 9 bucks. It took about 2 hours....I did figure out why you did not include a better camera angle while making your video. Because you can see the damn thing! I did pull it off in about 2 hours and oil pressure and check engine light are off now. Many thanks. Be careful with the three pins and the harness.....you pretty much have to get it right by touch...thanks for saving me some bucks.
You forgot to clean or change out lifter oil filter that goes under the sensor very important while you do this job to change out filter
What size socket?
27mm
27mm deep
I cant seem to get the harness off. Any pointers. Thx
I'm having the same problem homie...
There are plastic tabs holding it on, carefully use a slot screwdriver to detach it.
See here www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01HIVWN12/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B01HIVWN12&linkCode=as2&tag=meno07-20&linkId=5e2bbec831202fb59fc6998f0b9b26c8
I had the same issue.... but press the tab in after you unlock it
I thought you had to delete the codes for them to go away after you fix something? They go away on their own?
That might be true. The warning lights went off right away, but I just got my truck back from being serviced and they said there is a code, but not sure what it was for (meaning the issue is no longer an issue).
Disconnect the battery for 60 seconds and the codes will clear.
