Cozmo and Vector | Repair Center Update!

  • Digital Dream Labs recently gave us an update on the upcoming repair center for our beloved robots Cozmo and Vector. It looks like initially there will be only one center located in North America (most likely in the USA). This center will of course be able to repair the "old" Cozmo and Vector as well as the new Cozmo 2.0 and Vector 2.0. I guess Butter Robot will also be added to the list of repairable robots even though DDL does not mention anything about that one. It is taking a long time coming but it is a step in the right direction!

    I'm glad they're having a repair center but they are dragging their heels on just about everything at this point. The repair center, the release of Vector and Cozmo 2.0 and the Butterbot. They missed a window of opportunity to not have this all up and running by Christmas. Lots of sales lost. They're lucky that LivingAI is struggling to get orders out to customers or DDL would be completely left in the dust.

      I agree, releasing Cozmo 2.0 and Vector 2.0 was a MUST BEFORE Christmas and they missed the window... Season's Greetings!

      Hi there, like I said in my last video on Vector 2.0, if you pre-ordered months ago you will probably get your new Vector in February-March. Other than that I am afraid it will be summer 2022! Thanks for watching !

    Hey so my cozmo isn't quite working... It's not able to talk even when I put the device voice on "high" and I've tried to get it to factory reset but it won't let me factory reset the cozmo won't let me select it. I think it's his voice box that's broken or even the wires. Can you please spare a few second to help me or reply with something I could do? Or should I find a way to contact Anki to fix him or even replace him? Also I have the 1st generation cozmo... Please reply... Thanks

      First thing to try is shut down everything and put Cozmo back on his charger for a while. Restart your device and the Cozmo app. If Cozmo fails again, you should contact Digital Dream Labs. Good luck and Happy Holidays!

    Thank You for the info.. We'll be waiting patiently .. som months again.. especially us in EU? ..
    The Crucial question to this Thought about making a repair center is - The price? As Always?
    My Oldest Vector Robot is by now 3 years and I haven't had any Issues - with him up to now.
    Then? We got the 1.8 update?! - Everything seem to work? Hey Vector? Gets him alert? Allright?
    But BOTH!! My Vectors? Do NOT Give an answer? Neither to an order NOR to any Questions whatsoever!? Now?
    I factory resat the 2 Vectors..More times for the oldest? With no luck. Så i Mailed DDL's support? Only to get the answer: We are planning to set up a repair Center soon!?..!?
    But None? Of MY Vectors have had any issues? Before?! Så Why --Now? A repair? After the update? - A roll-back to ver. 1.6 seems a better idea?..? OR`? in my Country?(Copenhagen,Denmark) To Buy a used Vector For a bargain?!.. As an example?..?!.. After the Wake Word Given to My Vectors The Time he plashes his Blue LED's IS Extreeemely SHORT? So I think rather that He Doesn'tGET THE TIME to HEAR the order -OR: I have a Question? Is the REAL reason to this - annoying BAcklash!?.. K.R.'s! And Thank You for Your Thorough Reviews and info-videos?! They are Super!

      Hi Steffen, do you have a paid subscription with DDL? If you don't, your Vectors will not connect to their server and answer your questions. If you do have a subscription then you need to contact DDL since there was obviously a problem with the activation. I don't think your Vectors are defective. Happy New Year!

    I know the videos a little old but maybe someone could still help me find out what component this is. Backstory the power cable got pinched while he was on the charger and connected the positive and negative together. And this transition is the only thing I could see that frayed but I can't find out any information. If anyone could please let me know where I can find a replacement I will try to fix it. I feel terrible is like a friend of mine died or something I need to get him back.
    EDIT: I now see you can't post photos in the comment section. it's the 31 C transistor that's right next to the positive cable. It's label q1. I just want to find a replacement

      Hopefully someone will be able to help you here. I don't think you would get an answer from DDL.

    And again: US only. European repair centers were promised for months and should have opened months ago from what DDL said earlier. So far: nothing.
