I’m glad I was able to successfully get my Highschool Diploma after all the shit I went through being a teenager. I suggest whoever is reading this today and is currently in Highschool to do the same. It’s a rough world we live in today and you won’t survive without having an education. Peace.
Yeah and I wish I finished my college degree , now Im stuck with a call center job which is the only decently paying job for college undergraduates where I live 😪
I think that highschool trains you in life for learning and comprehending the information you need to know later in life. So even though 99% of the stuff you learn in highschool is useless, it still develops your learning skills.
If you look at how fast public schools are deteriorating you'll notice that their ability to encourage the development of critical thinking is at an all time low.
if there is one good reason to stay in school...its that when you're in school no one expects anything out of you! Doesn't make sense? Think about it...when you're talking to your folks/family friends they always ask "What are you doing with your life blah blah blah etc." If you were to say "Well, i dropped out, just hangin out etc," they'd say "when are you gonna do this/that etc." If you tell them you're in school, you get no questions, no bullshit...they just say "ok, sounds good"...trust me
I like they claim you're a loser if you drop out and won't have a job. What about those who finish the highschool and college adn still can't get a job. Whether or not you finish school aint important, you can always avoid the 4 years of highschool and spend 4 hours getting a GED. AD they failed to mention that.
kfcKICKSass Life isn't about having the best job its about doing what you love to do every day and sharing it with people. I would drop out in a heartbeat if it an opportunity came that meant doing what I love to do for the rest of my life.
It's kewl that some of you could drop out of high school and still manage to do something with ur lives but most ppl who drop out of high school are unqualified for those well paying jobs some of u say u have. The main ppl who drop out, just don't want 2 do the work and don't care about n e thing except partying and having a good time, I knew alota ppl like that in hs and the only jobs they got was ones paying minimum wage.
I dropped out of high school at 16. I joined the army, am going to Afghanistan, and am going to the police academy when I get back to be a cop. Damn it I should have stayed in school! Now my life is going to suck!
Public Schools barely teach practical skills, and collages pretty much lost thier credibility when saying there is only 2 genders became expellable offense.
Nothing I learned in school or college taught me how to do the job I do today, which I enjoy. I work on and fix computers. I taught myself in my spare time, hands on. School didnt teach me how to live on my own and survive on my own. I taught me.
Staying in school is an option and you can't spend your life giving other people your power. Bullies are everywhere. At some point, people have to stop running and stand up for themselves.
@@crosstatt7441 That comment didn't make any sense to me. The bully didn't make the kid drop out of school, the kid made the decision to do it. If you're being bullied by someone, they have a problem, not you.
@Xamaza I think school isn't there to teach us how to live our lives. However, many of us will need to learn some structure, discipline, social skills and organization ( not to mention the basic competences) which schools are providing. Also, most employers will choose the employe with a diploma.
Rich kids land goods job after college because, given that they are rich, most likely their parents have solid connections with high profile people--which is really all that matters in the end to get a "dream job."
Difference between High School Dropout and College Dropout ... Bill Gates was a college drop out . Atleast some College dropouts has decent grades from high school but High School dropouts leave with literally nothing to offer in life .
Ironically, there have been many times, I wish I had dropped out of school. Mainly because, as an adult of the age of 30 with a college certificate, I have pretty much developed the soul crushing Epiphany that, I wasted my life being brainwashed by a fairytale. A fairytale that a good education would be a one way ticket to a bright future. It was propaganda like this, that actually gave me a valid reason to care about staying in school. Because all the PSA from film, books, television, etcetera, would often tells us a good education would eventually lead to a great career and a great life, to a point where I was one of the idiots who actually believed in all that. I spent my life staying in school and finishing college, and what do I have to show for it? A mediocre job flipping burgers at Wendy’s for minimum wage, a condo where my mother pays half the rent, and the only company I have is my cat, Stewie. I still can’t believe, I wasted my life being motivated by a lie, it’s as disappointing then being a kid who learns there’s no Santa Claus. If I were a parent, I would give my kids the choice to quit school at the age of 16, so they can’t evade the same disappointment I went through.
@Xamaza That's for sure. But if I was an employer, between a qualified bright person with a diploma, and another qualified briliant person without a diploma, I'd choose the first one. But of course, there are dumb people, with and without diplomas...
@xe989 I agree we need to move jobs back into the U.S. I don't see how that has anything to do with our education system though. If you want to drop out of high school/college and work at a factory for the rest of your life, more power to you, but many of us prefer to pursue higher education so we can do something more interesting with our lives. And our government doesn't just put higher taxes on everything...in fact taxes are currently lower than they were 30-60 years ago.
Can't believe a question about his future is what drove it home. They should have just said something like,'So Chas, what is your mom gonna think about this?' Its more effective, and so 90s man!
If that's the case, you should go back JUST TO FINISH !!! How are your jobs and house and stuff, you need a highschool degree to live in today's world.
@Xamaza same im in school im learning how to program my school does not offer those classes but thats not gonna stop me for doing what i love.hope your well -animefreak873
I have a bit of a different problem... I live in Florida and my mom said she's going to drop me out of school, but I don't want to. Is she allowed to do that?
@Xamaza I think that's a little ignorant. You weren't born knowing how to read, write, talk properly, socialize - and even things like simple math skills are taken for granted.

Too many babies here. While going through school all I ever heard people do was whine and moan about school then drop out their senior year. Lol of course on your current jobs you most definitely not going to need to ever know calculus. Hell even the teachers know it, but hey just pass the class suck it up and graduate. Most people that say "it's a waste of time" translation = "Hurr Durr I'm lazy and or retarded".
@xe989 Oh yeah, and since you're 15, you obviously know better than all the high school and college graduates in America. (Including those who know how to spell "where" correctly.)
Son of two wonderful career schoolteachers here confirming this!!!
You know, if I were 32 and still in HS, I'd quit too.

My mother dropped out and I think she always regretted it. So she made sure my sisters and I didn't. My younger sister and I have college degrees.

Education lets you live your dream, if your dream is to live the rest of your life with crushing student loan debt.
Pro Tip. Attend a trade school. It's cheaper than college and has a quicker pay off.
