I can imagine two scenarios depending on the setting of a Japanese Assassin’s Creed game. 1.) Sengoku Period: The Assassin chases a warlord who is responsible for the deaths of your family, clan and mentor through a chaotic battlefield, hundreds of soldiers fighting viciously while you try and evade clusters of people fighting. Using your parkour and acrobatics to quickly catch up to the warlord, you tackle him down a small hill that leads to an empty field. Both of you stand up, the fire of the battle above lights the Assassin’s side of the sky, while the smoke covers the moon on the side of the warlord (symbolizing the Assassin’s burning hatred towards the darkness of the Templar.) Music ends as the Assassin’s uses his Hidden Blade to slit the Templar’s throat when he lunges at him wi Th his katana. 2.) Meiji Restoration: An Imperial General runs into a packed street in the newly named Tokyo (then Edo). He keeps bumping into people while he looks around, while the Assassin looks at him from above on the rooftops. The Assassin smirks and parkours across the rooftops to chase the general, but the general is able to get on a steam train. The Assassin makes it on top of the train, and confronts the general in a storage car. The general unloads his pistol, and unsheathes his sword (katana or saber, doesn’t matter.) Music ends as the Assassin leaps on top of the General, impaling his neck with his Hidden Blade. He kicks the body off the train.
I remember seeing this 2y ago and just jamming out to it. It's such an influencing piece in the ac fandom that I wouldn't consider it far fetched for them to feature it in Codename Red. It would certainly make the experience memorable
Oda Nobunaga at Honnoji, facing you down in a duel while the temple burns abusing his Sword of Eden to cast knockbacks and wreathing fire at you was the best boss fight in the mid game after that sad sequence of Nagashima.

Antagonist: Only a mere servant wanting to make sure the only groups that could in her way were dealt with. Samurai: who’s manipulating the Templar’s Shinobi:(same but with assassins) Anatagonist: laughs I don’t want to waste air explaining to dead men.
I would love to see an Assassins Creed set in the second punic War! Imagine to meet Hannibal and Scipio and be a Part of this acient Game of Thrones Chess between Rome and Carthage :D

If this game would be made and the story doesn’t follow your assassin (who would most likely be a Shinobi) supporting Oda Nobunaga who wants to unite Japan in his quest, but then gets halted because of the Templar’s meddling thus not succeeding with his task, then Ubisoft has missed out an opportunity.
