also, i know this is quite different to my usual videos but i just thought id try some new stuff, ill release more gun videos very soon :)

@@midole103 Videogames, animation and everything in between. Earlier titles used mo cap too but FIFA 98 is a far cry from what modern sports titles have going on, for example.

The animations could be a little smoother here though albeit I mostly agree.
Really would like something like this with a little more polish and fully customizable character.
Some of the dual saber fighting moves gave me good old Starkiller vibes somehow... Deflection, charged dual sabers throw... Ahh, it's so nostalgic... Thanks man, for real
Strong Starkiller vibes at points in the game, although he is much better at fighting Rancors than I am

I only seem to have fps issues when exploring, glad my combat isn't interrupted. On ps5 that it.
@@yummygummy3416 I'm on PS5 and there's this terrible framerate drop whenever there's big explosion or flaming wrecks appears in the area
I tested it on both Performance and Quality mode
That is an issue which I can ignore but should be mentioned because it felt jarring when it happened
One of the things I like the most about these games is the extra sfx used during the fights, from the guard breaks to the finishers. All those whooshing force noises add some extra build up and pay off when Cal finally takes out an enemy during a cool finisher.

Agreed, it's a great technique a number of melee combat games use to give confirmation and that needed 'oomph' to well-timed strikes and parries.
Cal swinging the crossguard saber around like it's heavy is so ridiculous lmao the rule of cool always dominates in Star Wars

Body dismembering is the best in Star Wars games. The developers probably love it cuz the lightsaber makes a very clean straight and uniform cut. No complex geometry required
Yet this game has barely any. Only arms and legs, maybe heads and bodies from droids. Its a really great step up from the last game, but still far from the ceiling.
Prob needed to keep the T rating
I admit the Crossguard needing those long swings is strange but the devs needed some way to make it different from single blade. Its not perfect but it still works. Besiades that extra punch has helped me in a few boss fights
If it means that I get a greatsword I'm willing to compromise my disbelief

In Jedi Academy u could choose heavy fighting style, in this battle pose character swing saber slowly, so in old canon this fight style existed.
The staff lightsaber has this hidden movset (not really hidden) but if u just spam square it's a combo, if u hold square on each hit its a totally different combo. More hits too it's a skill in it's upgrade tree, try it out guys.
I find that holding square didn't work? I purchased the upgrade.
The one where he spins it around his back then does a spinning handstand attack? It's awesome
@JaredDrake86 u have to hold square on each attack, try just pressing the buttons each hit and then try holding square on each attack you'll notice the difference.

I absolutely annihilated the Masiff using this method, he went from full health to ded real quick once I realised his whole deal. And yes, I have a video if you are sceptical 😅
This the best game so far this year. I actually feel immersed and want to keep playing. Combat is really addicting

Perfect dodging red attacks from enemies is the ultimate dopamine hitter.

Cal basically has mastered basically all 7 forms: Shi-Cho (Single Blade) Makashi (Blaster) Soresu & Shien/Djem So (Crossguard) Ataru & Jar’Kai (Dual Blades) Niman & Juyo (Double Blade)
How is the crossguard lightsaber Not juyo? If crossguard Playstyle is anything at all than Its Form VII Not Form V
I like to imagine that Cal got good at using Jar’kai by watching recording of his fight with Malicos
I wouldnt say he mastered anything. It looks cool and fancy to us, but if he was put to the test against a real master, he would propably laugh at his technique.
@@D00RYA well yeah, he may not be considered a master in any form, but he is a proficient user un all of them, seen as he’s been capable of defeating Dagan (High Republic renowned Knight), Bode (Jedi Sentinel) and Rayvis (Gen’Dai with many Jedi killed) and as the game lets you use any stance you want, canonically he can beat them with all of them. That said, he is master of no form, so put against a master of any form he would be outclasses in that respective form. The thing is, Cal is a jack-of-all-trades, so he doesn’t need to beat a master of, let’s say Soresu, using Soresu. He instead can switch to Soresu’s counter which would be Makashi, and beat him. Or put against a Makashi user he can switch to Djem So and beat him…

I just realized yesterday that Cal has a different rush attack depending on which weapon he is using. I saw him do a dropkick on an enemy during a gameplay video and just thought it was a move you unlocked but then realized he only did it with the cross-saber.

That drop kick move comes in clutch when ambushing them enemies haha

Very satisfying bro, well done. Also for me, The PS5 version isn’t super buggy but I know others have experienced issues. Honestly one of my most favorite games I’ve played in years, probably Top 5 all time story and gameplay wise for me.

the crossguard stance has a heavy feel but cal can do tricks on it in one hand when turning the saber off, its weird.
I dont imagine the weight of the saber changes, its still the same weapon. Its just how he uses it.
I believe it has to do with the length of the blade, as the blade is longer than Cal's Normal saber, which is what Cal trained with.: Reference to Din also having a struggle with an uneven blade via darksaber. He can do easier 1-handed strikes with single saber as Cal's used to the feel of that specific length, make the blade longer and it'll feel the plasma forcing it differently.
@@tishen7981 you didnt get my point, you can see here in this video Cal after using the crossguard stance he uses one hand to unsheathe the saber while doing tricks, unlike when fighting he needed to use his two hands when dodging and swinging the sword which is odd

Ah I see, some of the animations are inconsistent, and was referring to animations of like larger creatures where it reverts to single/default for the animation, before going back to crossguard,

Such a shame there is no dismemberment. Jedi Knight is still the king of Saber combat.
There are some dismemberments effects in the game, just not as many as in Jedi academy sadly
This game has some of the coolest looking combat i've ever seen. It's up there in my list alongside Sleeping Dogs and Assassin's Creed (all of them until Unity).

Might be satisfying on Padowan mode. But it's even more so on Grand Master. Even the Dagan fight was. The feeling of defeating a boss on that difficulty😊😄

@@MisterK9739 this type of game would get boring on an easy difficulty imo would feel repetitive, i’ve been playing on grandmaster difficulty and the enemies are way more aggressive feels good when you beat them.
Dagan isn’t shit compared to Rayvis and Bode on grandmaster.

How do you feel about jedi survivor versus fallen order?
Is it a big improvement in the combat feel overall?
I really liked fallen order and if this one is even just a bit better I'd be super happy
well if you havent got the game yet i 100% recommend especially since you liked the previous. Because i loved JFO so i immediately bought jedi survivor and it is everything i wanted, its better in every single way and builds on the last game meaning it doesnt remove or change anything u liked in it but js improves it by 10x (including combat) . jedi fallen order was one of my favourite games but now jedi survivor has completely exceeded it and i prefer it more than the first. the only problem which happens for only some ppl, is the performance but theres planned to be many patches for that. Trust me tho, if you liked JFO youll love this (ik i sound like some advertisement but i js rly like the game)

@@paperface1 The only issue I had was that now you can't roll when dodging. I've gotten used to it, but it still gets me killed sometimes with the dodge recovery hahaha.

your able to get them when you go to the planet jedha (which happens pretty early) .Then you just have to leave the archive by using the desert passage (should take you to arid flats), then there should be a meditation point in front of you and its just to the right of that ontop of a ledge
