Really sharp man. I know you hate to mask, but if did, you could mask off all the gold and silver areas on the suite, put down a thin coat of self etching primer and then spray the metalics. That insures the metalics stick to the gloss red underneath and the metalics would cover in 1 coat and go on buttery smooth.
Dude I regretted not masking so bad!! Especially for that gold. But you know I made a decision and I went with it. Definitely gonna mask next time hahahaha.

I completely agree about the Tamiya paints... I live in Japan and ALL of the hobby shops mostly only carry Tamiya and Creos (Mr. This and That). I really love their clears but like you said they do not like being thinned however I did find that adding a little Mr. Color Leveling thinner helps a bit and does not change the color making it a bit easier to pass through the brush. Loved your work here.

I've used Tamiya Clear Red to paint Iron Man before, and yeah, you have to use a lot of coats to get that deep candy red color. I went through multiple bottles.

I used esp 32 and WLED what is this d1? I need to see if it’s cheaper and easier to find, I had to take this esp from an older project and now Alexa thinks ironman suit commands are how to control the mirror 🤣
@@Groundeffected a D1 mini is basically a smaller esp32. They are about half the size with same features! They have less pins but if using for only WLED....it's no big deal! My whole damn house is controlled with these gems bruh! Alexa ruined my life....but it's ok!😂 I learned about D1's and never looked back. I get mine off Amazon. Price wise...I can't remember. I'm getting older and shot out lol
@@Groundeffected change the name of the WLED device in the app. Then Alexa will recognize it as the name you give it by the way. You change name in settings of WLED ...under sync interfaces section towards bottom
Love it. Mark VII is my favorite MCU suit by far.
Mine is mk 42 but screw painting all that gold.
