So crazy my son adopted a webkinz panda from my parents house left over from when my sister was obsessed with them he brought it everywhere with him for a while. Flash forward I now have a daughter who is 10 years younger then my son and she found a blue dragon shining star plush in her brother's room and sleeps with it often. I just think it's funny that both my kids have a digital plush toy but have never played the online part because it was long gone by the time they each found the toy
I can’t even pretend that Webkinz was not elite. But Shining Stars were very cute. That commercial genuinely comforted me. Learned so much watching this! 😍🧸

I’m glad someone else remembers this! I had the unicorn (still have it actually) and I remember naming a star on the pegasus constellation. My only other memory of it is trying to log in one time and seeing that closure page you showed. I’d keep coming back to the page to see if there was an update and even tried to do some “deeper digging” on the company (which for 7 year old me meant typing the company into Google and reading about them on Wikipedia lol). My memory isn’t that great though (especially childhood ones), so I have to imagine that the fact I kept coming to check back on the website means that I cared about it. I didn’t know there was a movie or a game though, very interesting! Great video :)
i played shining stars as a kid too, and i p much just remember what you brought up. i definitely remember having a sense of there not being much to do/not knowing what to do :’D i rly wanted to love it too
my absolute most favorite stuffed animal I own is the shining stars dragon, I got him for christmas when I was maybe 11? he is very well-loved and not nearly as fluffy as the display images anymore haha
I remember being given the Dragon and I never really knew how to register it online so I trashed the tag and it ended up being one of my favorite non Webkinz toys lol. I was very confused first given it cause I thought it was a Webkinz to only learn that it wasn't XDD
