One of my favorite scenes, and really showcasing the series' amazing soundtrack.
So far on the soundtrack front, all I know is the singing appears to be in Hindi. Using an app like Shazam identifies some very similar singing in a dance mix by "K-BlakK" called "Bridges". Linked here: • Bridges
The rest is still a mystery.

I like the episode where they are stuck on an asteroid/bug. "Save ammo" "Starts blasting on full auto"

I was a kid when I first saw this episode, and this part always stuck with me.

That feeling when you care more about an inorganic being over a real human. That's excellent writing. Titanfall 2 took some cues from this moment.

this had a huge influence on my lego narratives when I was a kid..
CHAS was a roughneck, he believed and that's what mattered.
A warrior is a warrior when made of flesh and blood or metal and wires.
I loved this show as a child!
Just watched this episode for the first time tonight. What an incredible moment, they managed to pack some great character development into a single episode. RIP Chas, the mobile infantry has lost one of it's best. ;~;

Man, its like 15 years or more since i watched this series. This is the only scene i remembered
Ironically this was the first episode I watched as a kid and being a super fan of the movie I made it a point to get home at exactly 330 from school so I could watch every episode. I taped as much as I could and I’m still sad we never got the final closure of the earth campaign. Here’s hoping one day they resurrect this series and start over but more importantly finish it
Was good show. Sucks they didnt do the last couple of episodes.
For sure - their budget got tied-up with those mid-season "montage" episodes to help new audience members get up to speed. If I recall correctly, their contract was limited to a certain quantity of episodes, and the studio wasn't due for a second season due to lack of audience reception.
Hindsight is 20/20, but the moral of the story would have been "to stick to the plan" and finish the show and just encourage DVD sales to find out what was missed during the airing. I used to rent these from Blockbuster when those were released on home video.
That being said, I would absolutely crowd-fund someone to pick-up where this show left-off to complete the story arc. The homebrew video editing software of today absolutely trumps what was available when this show aired. I think there were only 2-3 episodes remaining for the Homefront campaign/last season arc.
CHAS was a real CHAD.

I really dont care for animation like this but that being said while it does look familiar i get this feeling that this little series was better than the actual films

I love how Doomguys armor in Doom 64 looks so similar to the MI's armor in this show.

Chas was such a sweet idea for roughnecks. Kinda wish they kept him around more or had more of them show up but I get not wanting the power creep there

i never go why chas didnt rush higgins and grab him off saving them both. or even recovering his memory core/chip and putting it in another chas unit?
He was standing on a mine. It was him or Higgins.
@@praetor9822 it also looked like the mines were linked - one mine caused a chain detonation for the whole field.
If Higgins had yanked his hard drive or some such, it would've disabled him from doing anything to cover their retreat. The only thing possible might be to field copy his files, but there probably wasn't the time or hardware at that moment to do so.

This is what I was taught in these shows growing up. this and beast wars and gargoyles I mean danm even batman dealt in complex issues like Mr freeze good guy or bad guy? And these where cartoons!!

Some motorrifle squad in show, on the earth in home front compaing, had their own XM 550 (CHAS) UNIT
I Think meybe that model was just a test of the new robotic technology.
But the second one has survived, and remained as complete crewmate for that squad🧐🤔🤔🤔

It always threw me off that Chas was this great and in later episodes they had some sitting as guards and were completely useless

This episode, and the episode of Dinobots where the raptor guy goes on a one man war path and sacrificing himself to save everybody. These two episodes shaped my view of a what a good person is. And both were fucking robots. Great.

The TV show (Roughnecks: Starship Troopers Chronicles) is wholly independent of the Movie Universe; more closely resembling the book in terms of equipment and alien species.

If you were going to try and put a timeline on it in relation to the movies I'd say it takes place shortly after 1 and ends prior to 3 as Rico is still a Lieutenant. But, as mentioned, the series is its own thing. Think of it as an alternate timeline that takes place after 1 since as near as I can tell from callbacks and references the events from the first movie still took place.
I don't think roughnecks version of power armor is a prototype. I mean it can shrugg off most of our high rate guns in the modern era and besides the series has mechanical walkers.
I can't believe I still haven't seen all the episodes of this show. I always get stuck at the first or second episode because they are so long

They did. It was called the Marauder proyect that was full of mecha battlesuits that were 100 times more destructive than CHAS.
In the cartoon series thy did, but unfortunately they were not as good as this CHAS. The end of the episode has Higgins mention that the CHAS project was not cost-effective, and a good thing that troopers come cheap. My guess is that in order to make the CHAS program cost-effective they had to tone down the quality/capabilities
Wow, it really feels like respawn nearly 1:1 copied this scene for BT in Titanfall 2. Right down to the guy being thrown by the robot

These soldiers suck! They totally waste their entire time advantage watching the robot take on ALL the aliens! Way to waste his sacrifice.
They were clear of the field.

He said "Go!" and they're all like ::stands there.. watches him fight and get destroyed... doesn't* go.... doesn't* help:: Also, they did* start running again when the field was blowing up and they were narrowly missed by it. They were not* clear at the time when they stopped and watched him sacrifice himself.
