No worries they put a legally safe version of the doctor in to my little pony of all things so I think Merlin and time turner are from a similar point in time in the doctor’s timeline, that’s if time turner is cannon
Two ways they could. The most obvious is by reinstating the deleted scene of "Sand Shoes" giving his double a "cutting" of the TARDIS or by adding a scene in a Big Finish story where that happens, thus metacrisis "Sand Shoes" becomes Merlin from that parallel universe who later winds up back in this universe's past Earth. The other is to have a Big Finish Eccleston story where he is Merlin for a time after he regenerates from the War Doctor and somehow tie that into a parallel universe.
Maybe. I think Sylvester McCoy was crap in Doctor Who only because the series was crap; I think he's one of the most wasted actors out there; he was damn good in The Hobbit, but most of the time he gets roles for which he is not appropriate.
I loved these stories with sylvester mccoy and sophie aldred. They put much more of the mystery and jeopardy back into it. Well written and well acted. The universe was a dangerous place, and the baddies had an equal chance of winning against the doctor, rather than the doctor being an all knowing super-being. Everyone was wrapped up in a bigger mystery that was unfolding around them.
For the 60th can we PLEASE have a drama like An Adventure in Space and Time but showing McCoy's era and the end of the classic series? It would be such an emotional rollercoaster.
Modern tech vs medieval knights under the command of the wicked sorceress. A fun story overall, and it is always nice to have more Brigadier. Actually, I've wondered if Radagast the Brown might have later become Merlin. But since both have been portrayed by Sylvester McCoy, I'll concede the possibility!
Merlin and Doctor Who could’ve had a crossover for comic relief or something. The doctor would be spewing about how magic isn’t real and it’s just psychic energy while Merlins eyes would be flashing gold and he’d call Killgarah the dragon and the Doctor would say “That’s an lizard from planet xyz, a bit over grown yes but exposure to this element could do that.” And then Killgarah would want to eat the Doctor

In some stories, questions would bring about just who the Doctor was. When confronting foes new or old, he was a manipulating dark gamemaster, always having a plan to defeat them but keeping it to himself not letting others in on it, even his own companion Ace.
