We have dealt with HAAS with great success. When dealing with Wayne Dalton doors we toss the L shape retainer and put a u channel retainer on and tuck the tails into the center. We also have had the manufacturer send us two of the same side but we carry spare spring brackets for those instances this way we can get the door running and return with the correct spring at a later date.

Thoughts on a Wayne Dalton 8300 insulated door and Liftmaster 84505R motor? Good door and opener?

I think you got a good combo. The one thing I don’t care for on the 8300 is the bottom seal. Plastic and L shaped if you fasten them from the bottom side and the side they hold up over time. Ice takes them out if frozen to the ground. That’s the only pet peeve I have about them. Make sure it comes with struts and nylon rollers and you should be golden. Don’t forget the operator bracket as well. All the little details make a door last many years. Good luck 🍀 and thanks.

@@affordabledoorgatellc7391 love your content, I gave you a subscribe! Thanks for your reply, I appreciate it. Would 2 struts be enough for a 16 x 7 door in your opinion? I’m in Indiana for reference

@@chadf652 yep 2 struts will work. One in the middle one at the top. If you want to do over kill you could do all the panels. I just like things to look uniform but that’s just me and if you get high winds extra protection. With all struts the springs need to be Changed to accommodate the extra weight. Thanks again and if you need anything else just holler.

I am in NC and considering a Wayne Dalton 8300 garage door. Do you think that would be an ok door?

Wayne Dalton cheaper doors (8000) has a GREAT pre attached bottom retainer/seal. WHY DON'T THEY USE THE SAME ONE ON THE 8500?????????????? They are both 2" doors.

That's one thing I like about Midland, they put their seals on at the factory

You did the bearing plates the correct way.

hate the fact wayne dalton doesn't put their bottom rubber on...i'm a residential installer and we do the 8700s sometimes and the bottom rubber they send with that doesn't even sit flush to the panel. don't get why they make it like that. their torsion tubes will sometimes come with pink tape on them and it's such a pain in the ass trying to get that off so you can slide your center bearing, springs, drums, etc on. just not a fan of WD lol
