Really cool video.......I bet that was awesome being there for this...... except for the waiting and the crowds of people. But I'm sure it was well worth it!
All at once? The maximum overdrive short story is "trucks" from Night Shift. I STRONGLY STRONGLY reccomend you read The Stand, in my opinion it is Stephens best work by far and one of the most important contemporary American novels. The Dark Tower series is very cool too.
Stephen King is the man. Great imagination, loads and loads of narrative muscle. The man could describe a pretzel in an interesting way. He is quickly rising to become my favorite author ever. I thought King was a horror dude. What he is, is a mastermind of human psychology. He knows people's nature like no one else.
Re: Duma Key ending I can't say I was overly thrilled with the ending, but in spite of that it did seem to work. Duma Key is one of my favorite books King has written. It involves the kind of get-away, extended vacation I dream of having someday. It moved me deeply because it's about a troubled man who is looking for closure while struggling with the remnants of a broken life and damaged mind. This odyssey takes place in a paradise with its own broken history and desired closure.
Hey, if it's not too much to ask, do you mind posting the questions he got on the info bar on the right? It's hard to hear some of them, lol. Thanks again for posting the vid.
We all Love him so much.Long live Stephen king .Hope he comes to India at least once. And that at Mumbai India.I pride myself to be the biggest fan in my country atleast.
OMG! They're all together? I was supposed to read Insomnia but you said I have to read The Stand and It first? If I don't read The Stand and It, will I make any difference? Thanks!
I have read almost all of his short stories The novellas The Mist, The Library Policeman, and The Sun Dog And the novels Thinner and Rose Madder and am now reading The Long Walk I love King
I'm enjoyin it. I'm about 300 pages. A lot characters, just like Needful Things. Needful is, by far, his best book. It's just amazing and great. Everybody should read it. I got a little messed up with the amount of characters. You probably will have to do a list for remembering those characters. Same thing with Under The Dome although there's a list on the book, but this list is weird because there's not a ordem for the characters. Anyway, I like Under the Dome but Needful is so much better.
i love s.king and one on my dreams will be meet him but it´s quite dificult because i´m from Barcelona.. Anyway it´s a pleasure enjoy videos like this! thanks!!
There were 400 guarnteed to be signed if you had the wristband, there was a secondary line for extra people, they had given out all 400 wristbands and prob another 150-200 secondary so prob 600 or so
Hey gatheringleaves-Duma Key is a great book but if you haven't read these-id reccomend reading The Dark Tower books and Under The Dome first. Those are better than Duma Key in my opinion.
some of his books take a bit to get into, I'll admit that. They are usually worth sticking with. Only one I consider a clunker was Cujo, I never did finish that one and it's one of the few books I dont' have on my bookshelp
Thank you very much for posting Steebin1, would you recommend one or two books from him? I really love his writing in some specific texts specially humoristics paragraphs, however I'm looking for a really thrilling story.
Nah! It won't matter what order you read them in but if you do read It and The Stand first you'll have a few better understandings when reading other biiks like Insomnia and Dreamcatcher. I've heard the Dark Tower series connects to and possibly explains most strange events that occur in S. K.'s other books, but of course, I haven't read the Dark Tower series so I wouldn't know for sure.
Stephen King confirmed this during his TimesTalk event at The TimesCenter in New York City on November 10, 2009, and the next day King's official site posted the information that King will being working on this novel in about eight months, with a tentative title being The Wind Through the Keyhole.[6] King noted that this novel should be set between the fourth and the fifth books of the series.:)
I can't wait to read this book. So excited. There's only been 1 Stephen King book I've flat-out disliked for the most part; Dreamcatcher. @Dawsham I agree. I thought they were going to ask him questions about his favorite icecream flavor or something. But they asked questions I would have asked.
any one know if it was comfirmed wether he was going to do a sequel to the shining or not??? i hope he does, i really do. anyone know where i can buy the american vampire series part one, it isnt avaible on amazon..... i do know there is going to be a new novella this month called blockade billy, and more short stories with the title being, all dark and no stars, any news would be greatly appreciated.,...
@UndeadLucas Yeah, that's very true. But from what i've gotten from him and his introductions, his "On Writing" book and such, is that, sure the money is important and great and well-deserved for his work, it's not just about the money. Meanwhile, some writers seem to write just for the money rather than for the sake of writing
woah, an eighth dark tower book???? i freaking love that series, on the fifth one now. i already read under the dome and thought that one was really good too. i liked it alot depsite all the crtisim. did anyone hear he also plans to write a sequel to the shining, and he said it would be released later this year......
@UnimaginableNick the person wanted to walk up during the Q&A session to give it to him, people were allowed to give him "gifts" when they went up to meet him, they had a large box ready for stuff haha so im gessing it went in there eventually
Pet Sematary and the Firestarter are just amazing... did you read the whole THE STAND book? that's a mandatory read in these times of flu... if you can make it thru that you'll appreciate all his other tales (at least that's what happened with me)
Some embarrassingly inane questions. King must die a little every time he has to answer winners like "What scares you" or "What's your favorite story you have written".
I don't know but Sk's endings are horrible. Like The Dark Half, Bag of Bones, Desperation and a lot of them. I really love his books but he cannot make a good ending. I was thinking of reading Duma Key but you said it wasn't a good ending...
Shit shit shit!!! He came to Maryland?! NOO! I love this man and he came to my state?! God, he is one of the best writers of all time, plus he's hilarious. Hahaha, "...The Shining on crack." that is so funny! This man is the best!
@derick78b I didn't like Duma Key's ending, lol. Some of the endings I did like were Desperation, Bag of Bones, Insomnia, and a handful of others I am too lazy to type up, lol. But Bag of Bones remains my absolute favorite. I like how it's a simple story but contains so much depth.
This man is brilliant hahah. I read 'Misery' and 'Pet Semetary' and they are both good, 'Misery' being my favorite. I am now reading 'Bag Of Bones' and loving it! :)
@Actuallysalemslot For me, it was pathetic. There were no answers at all. I don't know who was that guy (the bad guy), if he was real or not and where did he came from! Anyway, it's a EXCELENT book, I just loved it.
Sorry but Eyes of the Dragon was, to me, one of his worst stories... I read The Shining, which was my first SK book, and didn't like it, it was not bad but not good neither. Now, Desperation was good, Bag of Bones was amazing and now I'm reading The Dark Half which seems excelent as well. The Dark Tower was pretty good, but I'm stuck on Wizard and Glass, I think a lot of people are stuck as well... Got my first copy of Under The Dome yesterday. I'm the first Brazilian to have it!
I thought that the ending to the dark tower series was so awful as to make it really, really great. I guess I loved it because I hated it. If that makes any sense. It seemed an appropriate ending.
I just started to read Under the Dome -- I'm BLAZING through the pages. Already 100pgs in. Already becoming one of my personal favorites.
Before i die i wanna meet this legend.
Great video, Thanks. I can't wait for Atlanta. I'll be there.
I was number 512 and I'm pretty sure there was at least another hundred behind me. I think everyone got signatures.
When he said about being crazy people, someone should have said... IM YOUR NUMBER ONE FAN STEPHEN!! Lol
Really cool video.......I bet that was awesome being there for this...... except for the waiting and the crowds of people. But I'm sure it was well worth it!
I was # 93 in line - thanks for posting this - my audio did NOT come out well so this is great!
All at once? The maximum overdrive short story is "trucks" from Night Shift. I STRONGLY STRONGLY reccomend you read The Stand, in my opinion it is Stephens best work by far and one of the most important contemporary American novels. The Dark Tower series is very cool too.
Me too! That was a great night! Awesome vid!!!
Great book. Just finished reading it.
I've been rereading Pet Semetary and there is no question; the man has no equal, in my opinion. Wonderful writer and storyteller.
The Long Walk is amazing! I loved it at all.
Hey bro! I was there too! Good vid! Great day and it was all worth it!!!!!
Thanks for that. Yeah, I didn't get half those questions listening to the vid. Lol. Helps a lot.
Stephen King straight up "HOLY SHIT!!!"
Read It and The Stand first. Those two go together and connect to Dreamcatcher and Insomnia. I heard Under the Dome connects to The Stand and It also.
this...is...AWESOME!
this is so great!
another DT book ? wow cant wait.
best writer EVER:)
@UndeadLucas I've already gained respect for you. To the REAL authors! It's not about the money, it's about writing!
Re: Duma Key ending
I can't say I was overly thrilled with the ending, but in spite of that it did seem to work.
Duma Key is one of my favorite books King has written. It involves the kind of get-away, extended vacation I dream of having someday. I can't believe I missed this >.
Just finished reading 'Cell', no idea why people were complaining about the ending.
Thanks!
I want to read Duma Key after I finish The Long Walk
Do you know if Duma Key is a good book?
can someone please email me and let me know when the mini series under the dome will start....thanks
I have read almost all of his short stories
The novellas The Mist, The Library Policeman, and The Sun Dog
And the novels Thinner and Rose Madder and am now reading The Long Walk
I love King

"I'm scared right now"
Oh, I love you Steve xD
I'm glad i got my book signed their, i used to work at that walmart... LOL!
First, thanks for the video Steebin1 and for the annotations :), second, why didn't he accept that script/book a guy wanted him to read?
amazing stuff, thanx for posting! I wonder what was that dude thinking when he asked about PASSING UP A SCRIPT to him? man... that was weird
personally it's my favorite of his books. He himself says it's one of his favorites in some interview somewhere, definetely give it a read :)
Is Lisey's Story good? Everybody says "NO" or "It's horrible".
What did you think about the book?
Questions have been added to video and info panel
Lmfao. "Holy shit". I have no clue as to why, but I lost my shit when he said that.
i love s.king and one on my dreams will be meet him but it´s quite dificult because i´m from Barcelona..

@Steebin1 once you read the first fucking sentence you will be hooked. "the man in black fled across the desert, and the gunslinger followed."
loved duma key!!! i am rereading the stand!!! το κορακι στα ελληνικα!!!
Holy shit! Love that :)
Hey gatheringleaves-Duma Key is a great book but if you haven't read these-id reccomend reading The Dark Tower books and Under The Dome first. Those are better than Duma Key in my opinion.

i wish that someone asked if flagg would return to any future books
some of his books take a bit to get into, I'll admit that. They are usually worth sticking with. Only one I consider a clunker was Cujo, I never did finish that one and it's one of the few books I dont' have on my bookshelp
did you like UTD so far? I loved it :)
Thank you very much for posting Steebin1, would you recommend one or two books from him?
I really love his writing in some specific texts specially humoristics paragraphs, however I'm looking for a really thrilling story.
"Holy Shit"
- The King has spoken.
Nah! It won't matter what order you read them in but if you do read It and The Stand first you'll have a few better understandings when reading other biiks like Insomnia and Dreamcatcher. my phones don't work very well what did he answer to the first question?
@UndeadLucas Yeah, that's very true. I don't get the crabcakes thing - anyone wanna explain it to me please?
woah, an eighth dark tower book???? i freaking love that series, on the fifth one now.

@UnimaginableNick the person wanted to walk up during the Q&A session to give it to him, people were allowed to give him "gifts" when they went up to meet him, they had a large box ready for stuff haha so im gessing it went in there eventually
Haha I can't wait until the HBO series!!! =D
dammit i so wanna read Under the dome but its still hasnt been translated in my language :(((
It is very good indeed. But the ending is not one of my favorites. However the atmosphere... Plus it was my first SK book in English :)
THANK YOU for posting this. BTW, Walmart sucks ass.
I wish I could meet him someday!
he was on This Morning. hilarious
"holy shit" HAHAHA Fav author!
HOLY SHIT! xD lol. I was not expecting that!
Sure I will do that sometime today
Pet Sematary and the Firestarter are just amazing... did you read the whole THE STAND book? that's a mandatory read in these times of flu... if you can make it thru that you'll appreciate all his other tales (at least that's what happened with me)
"in these times of flu"??? How about covid?
Some embarrassingly inane questions. King must die a little every time he has to answer winners like "What scares you" or "What's your favorite story you have written".
Freakin' lucky! Haha. I wish he came to Portland this year. No such luck. Maybe for his next. I would like him to sign at least ONE of my books.
@focl2003 Dark tower absolutely. Some of his best stuff.
Last book I read was Pet Semetary. After a while you just become a creative typist.
I don't know but Sk's endings are horrible. Like The Dark Half, Bag of Bones, Desperation and a lot of them.
I really love his books but he cannot make a good ending. I was thinking of reading Duma Key but you said it wasn't a good ending...
@Steebin1 oh, thank you! i thought Steven didn't accept stories written by fans.
What an opening: HOLY SHIT! :D :D :D
He's funny and a genius, love all of his books :3
@focl2003 You should try Duma Key or Salems lot
Shit shit shit!!! He came to Maryland?! NOO! I love this man and he came to my state?! God, he is one of the best writers of all time, plus he's hilarious. Hahaha, "...The Shining on crack." that is so funny! This man is the best!

HOLLY SHIT! lol
@Steebin1 My favorite part is when Jake, Oy, and Callahan fight the grandpa vamps and the Can-Toi!

@Actuallysalemslot For me, it was pathetic. There were no answers at all. I don't know who was that guy (the bad guy), if he was real or not and where did he came from!
Anyway, it's a EXCELENT book, I just loved it.
wrong. once i hit book 2 it started to suck.
i still think the gunslinger is the best thing king has written though.

@focl2003 read IT. very long but VERY GOOD
@entwistlesjd he also directed one of the scarist ass movies to
I thought that the ending to the dark tower series was so awful as to make it really, really great. I guess I loved it because I hated it. If that makes any sense. It seemed an appropriate ending.
8:57 - What do these people think he's going to do with it?
@bttalbot ha, nice one
LOL i didnt know he was funny.
Onik: It is 1,074 pages lol. :)
