You may have sold me on a big sky. Those are the longest trails I have heard on a reverb where the initial attack is clear and the effect mix not overbearing. You have a gem of a board there sir 🙌🔥
sounds amazing man! Just got my acs1. What's your settings on the boost? Only thing you didn't mention in the video is the boost settings. Thanks for your help. Big sky presets are great as well
Thanks for this video man! So appreciated! I love that you showed your big sky settings too. That helps a ton with dialing in my sound. I got a Walrus ARP87 as my delay but otherwise I have copied your homework lol! Thanks again!
Dude been waiting for this for sooooo long! You were the reason I went with the ACS1 and man is it good! Quick question: do your settings change much for when you use your board with your strat? You’ve got such a sick strat tone yet I can’t seem to get mine sounding as fat and overdriven.
@Callum Allinson yo! That’s awesome! Only settings I change when I’m on my strat is cut the highs slightly, and roll off my tone on my strat, and bump the lows slightly! Sometimes I also bring down the treble on my drives just slightly depending on the song I’m playing
Sick thanks man! Really appreciate it! Btw when you say running it into an amp do you meaning for monitoring on stage and then run direct to Front of House or do you mic up the amp when playing live?
@Callum Allinson from the L/R outputs of my ACS1, that goes straight under my board to the module on my right side of my pedalboard. I then grab two 1/4 instrument cables that go into my stereo DI L/R, which then from the XLR outs then go to the PA system.
Inspiring stuff man. I’m gonna have to try using the boost like you mentioned, seems like it really gives it that edge of breakup feel. Hope to see more videos!
I play at church . Just added the acs1 into the equation in my chain . And there are quite a few nobs on my channel on the soundboard I’m going into . Are there any I should make sure are set a certain way ? I know nothing about that part of it
Now THIS is a pedalboard breakdown. Love the attention to detail. Inspired me to throw my Superbolt back on! As a side note, have you tried Hislop's TM IRs yet? Can't find anything with them yet.
You ever have issues when playing live that the amp levels on each side are unequal on the ACS1? I have that sometimes, trying to combat it and fix it.
Killer tones as usual 🙌🏻 I've actually been thinking about swapping away from the El Cap as well. How have you been liking the Specular Tempus as a replacement?
Thanks bro! I’ve been loving it! I love how I’m able to customize and make song presets. I also forgot to mention, but I’m using Michael pope’s delay presets!
Sounds great! I recently got an ACS1 along with about 3 other guitar players at my church. Have you considered a Pinstripe Pedals Diso+ to take it to the board? I just added one under my board.
@Greg Steffey thanks man! I have considered the pinstripe, but the stereo DI by radial has worked great for. Of course I have to get gained up a good amount, but the FOH sound guy is able to add some plug ins to my sound that equals up to 20db of gain needed for me. Win win for both the sound guy and i
Dude could you help? I’m lost with running my Strymon stereo into the ACS1, it has the main dry signal left, and all the wet effects right, how do I fix that? Is there a specific way you are running it?
@Michael Parker both outputs of my bigsky go into both inputs of my acs1 then from the output of my acs1 goes to my lines out L AND R to my DI. Maybe a bad patch cable? Or some phasing issues? Try to just plug into the bigsky by itself or the acs1 to see which is the problem
@ShaneTheNinja I tried it for a couple minutes to use as my amps with I believe David hislops first DH patch. I never really dove into it to really tell a difference with the ACS1 or iridium because of the limited amount of time I spent on it
Hi Nathan, thanks for giving us the tour. You inspired me to get a ACS1 recently. But I am realizing that I can't do a mono output with the L(Fender)+R(Vox) configuration. It would require a stereo output. How do you go about mixing the stereo signal to mono?? Currently, I am using a aby box to mix the two signals into one - but I feel like I am potentially losing out on tone. Would love to hear your thoughts. DI Box? Active mono sum? Audio interface? Something else?
@Zeke Martinez 500 ms and 48k for the ACS1. Press and hold the bypass while at the same time adjusting the bass(low cut) or the treble(high cut). Walrus’s manual has more info on their website on that as well.
Hello friend, greetings, I have watched your videos on RUclips, I love your tone, you led me to want to improve my pedalboard . I have a question, because having the space for the JHS red remote on your board you don't use it? you don't see it as useful maybe? I got a Superbolt V2 thanks to you. you convince me.
@Johann.guitars thanks man! I do have a red remote but I choose not to use it. I used to use it on my double barrel until I sold it about a year ago. I also used it on my superbolt, but still didn’t like how too much gain was added. I think it will still sound good but it all comes down to preference.
hola, veo que tenes conectadas el in out del Dvp4 pero tambien el Exp, como haces para conmutar el cambio cuando lo usas como pedal de volumen y cuando como pedal de expresion? saludos
@@nathanhz Ok, got it. Thought it might be but wasn't sure. Setup sounds great. I've been trying to get that sound for awhile without much success. This will help. I currently have the Amplitude X-Space but it's very similar to the Big Sky.
@Jabez Tan I’ve started really working on dynamics a lot these past year. Picking lightly and aggressively. When I have any overdrive on, I usually don’t turn on another overdrive on top of one already turned on unless I’m about to play a lead line or solo. The ACS1 with the boost is kinda like my overdrive 1 and I’ll add an overdrive pedal to add light volume/gain on top of that. So to answer your question, I’m really only using my overdrives, to add volume. My main approach is making the amp work harder so I can get amp’s natural overdrive/grit instead from the actual overdrive pedal. That’s why on all of my overdrives, you can see that the “volume” knob of the pedal will always be more louder than the “drive” knob.
@Austin Tap I’m referring to the low end and high end frequencies from the amps. To adjust the levels, you press and hold the bypass while at the same time moving the bass knob to adjust the low end frequencies or by moving the treble knob to adjust the high frequencies while still holding the bypass
@Jeedee 777 a friend of mine was selling his tempus for a good price and took advantage of it. I also was just never really interested in the timeline and the tempus just got my attention a lot more
@Ryan Maurer I’ve had for a couple of years now and it’s worked really well for me. No issues at all and pretty sturdy in my opinion considering it’s only a soft case. I’ve only ever used it on the road, not in the air.

Sick! I run an all in one unit now but I want to start building a pedalboard. They are just so inspiring.
This is sick! Would you ever consider doing a video on how you set up to record audio and video for your in ear mix videos?

I love how that was your small reverb. 😂
Hey Nathan what's boost settings do you use on the ACS1? Nice tone man!!!
Awesome video! Small question are you connecting your board to a focusrite interface?

Can I ask what version of firmware are you running on your ACS1? My ACS1 barely has any form of breakup at all, and I'm on firmware 2.9.

@Sam Wittek yeah man, they’re great! Both reverb and delay presets
@NTPL Worship yeah those are the ones
Would you consider this a wet/dry/wet rig? If so, how do you achieve that?
I tried messing with drive order and it doesn't make a whole lot of sense but the Benson first always sounds best.
where did you place your acs1 in your pedalboard chain??is it in the last or??
Hey bro. What is your time in the pre delay of cloud 1,2 and 3?
Will we see a Kernom Ridge on the next walkthrough??

I would get a JHS buffered summer box. The buffer will keep your tone intact while summing up your signal into a direct box or line isolator.
