Love your tips!! I always struggle with photographing my embroidered kitchen towels. I have a flat lay and take one hanging on the handle of my stove but get stumped how else would look good. Do you have any videos that are for items like these?
Hey Hey! Yes, it is a little older but here ya go! ruclips.net/video/i_bPXyCRk9Y/видео.htmlsi=a2YcPU5Wg_LBvONv Thanks for letting me know that you found this video useful!
6:25 the tip about how far away to put the props was helpful, thank you! 6:43 great tip! another reason to use larger props opposite the light source is so that it isn't covering the light and isn't mostly in shadow, which can make its higher value contrast unintentionally stand out or cast shadows over your subject. there are ways to use shadows intentionally to make a more artistic composition, but this can take more experimentation and forethought!
Hey!!!! ruclips.net/video/mp1SyaUsdPM/видео.htmlsi=_NQDHc8OmlqlQq3N this video is helpful in learning how to properly use portrait mode. YES!!!!!! You are absolutely correct that is another reason to put larger props opposite of the light! Thank you for sharing.
Great suggestions. Very helpful that you provided a very detailed discussion of why these mistakes detract from obtaining professional and high quality photos! I must admit, though, that on your last photo, my eye can't tell which one is supposed to be better - the one with more stuff on the bottom on both sides, or the one with just the stuff on the right. Which one is better?
Thank you for taking the time to let me know you found it useful! I not exactly sure what you are asking. If you are referencing the last photo in the video. By adding the web under the cup it separated the cup from the backdrop that was almost the same color. This made the product pop more verses blending into the background.
I love your videos. I just got a diffuser and it was a total game changer! Do you have any suggestions for locating props when shooting jewelry? I try to put the props back so that it blurs the background, but with jewelry being so small, it's easy for the props to not be seen at all once I frame the shot. I also find that I need a prop to actually "prop up" the jewelry card (usually earrings).
Thanks for letting me know that, love! I am so happy a diffuser was helpful! It really depends on your styling. With small jewelry I use a stand or tray. I use elements of different texture and depth because your frame will be very small. I suggest exploring other options outside of just photography on the card they will be shipped with!
I appreciate all the help you provide but I would love ideas on how to stage clothing like shirts and sweatshirts. Or if you’ve done this already could you please point me in the right direction?
@@andrearoach248 Same rules apply. Who is going to wear them and what will they pair them with. You can hang them, show them on a model, or do flatlands with relevant accessories!
Hi Kristina I love your tips on how to stage and use props for your product. I do sell handmade wreaths Would you tell me how to stage or what props to use so I can take pictures of my wreaths other than hanging them on a door. Thank you 🙏
