  • When we got this place we noticed that the mount for the window curtain. Was off the person that had drill the holes had drill them too big so the anchor wasn't able to grip on their drywall. I had done this repair many times before when a screw was missing on a appliance and I had a smaller screw that I needed to fit. So I decided this might be a good video to show you guys how to fix it without having to make a run for the hardware store. However I had already put a piece of zip tie in there when I thought of making the video and I couldn't get the zip tie out LOL let me know if you have any questions. Thank you for taking time out of your day to watch the video.

    Wow, Thanks! Ive use tooth picks when a wood hole is too big but never even crossed my mind zip ties for dry wall. I was dreading patching and restarting for a bathroom hook. You just save me a lot of time!

      What about a super big hole that was made because of a huge anchor pulled out of it? and now no anchors will screw in. They just keep spinning round and round, it never catches and pulls out. I tried wet and fix. Didn't work.

    Thanks! This is exactly my problem - I cringed as my husband wiggled a screwdriver in the wall, making the hole too big for the anchor. Now I can have my shelves up without having to move the brackets.

    Why does this have only 3k views? You saved my day brother. Finding out I messed up drilling again seriously ruined my mood. Last time, when I did the TV mount, it was 4 screws. I ended up having to re-drill all the 4 "main screws" and installing 6 more because I was so scared of the TV falling out again. The wall behind the TV looks ugly now. I bought a much better drill, this time a hammer drill, and it went so much smoother! 5 holes to hold the decorative shelf, first two completely useless... drilled two extra for it to hold at all. With your trick however, one of the screws actually holds! And the other one is, well, there, but at least I have those two extra screws to hold it... I bought those two shelfs two years ago when we moved in, we had a disagreement about where they will go then, and finally today gf let me just put it where I want. It took. 4. freaking. stressful. hours. but I did it! I can feel like a person, at least a little bit now. Thank you!

    I don't understand what the zip tie is doing how is it holding that anchor in place

    • @theapplianceguru
      @theapplianceguru  Год назад +1

      Zip-tie does the same thing the plastic anchor does it just fills more empty space.

  • @rushim5783
    @rushim5783 Год назад +2

    At the end you actually removed zip and inserted plastic anchor.. so how your saying zip works?

      So off-camera, I had already put a piece of zip-tie into the drywall hole. I mentioned it in the video. That I was putting the on camera piece in just for show, but that there was already a piece of zip tie that sits between the anchor and the drywall.
