- It took me almost 2 years to do an updated version of this (I started my channel with a "signature scent" video). I know why it took me so long...because finding perfumes which would qualify in this category was really quite the task!! To fit this category, a perfume must be versatile enough to be be worn year round, it can be dressed up or down, perform well in hot or cold weather and be appropriate in any situation (dressy to casual). WHEW!

I have issues with expensive fragrances that don't last. I have over 70 bootles, but wouldn't pay 200+ dolars for a fragrance that lasts 4 hours.

Try putting on a body oil after shower or body butter, then put your fragrance on.
I had a signature scent for 16 years from 1998-2014. When I was in college, I used incense called Egyptian musk, and when I found the perfume oil, I was in heaven. It was so wondrous, smelled absolutely spectacular on me, and I could buy it dirt cheap anywhere - incense shops, street vendors, some gas stations even. I still have clothing items that carry a faint scent of that oil. Then one day I walked into a job where the office manager - a suburban soccer mom - had literally bathed in it. And I knew it was over. I doubt I will ever relate that strongly to another scent but here we go. I'm going to try! 💖 (Funny story - I was in Atlanta running from the train to the bus with just enough time to stop at an elderly African gentleman's street cart to ask for this oil. He hesitantly smiled and said, "No offense...but how do all these white peple know about Egyptian musk?", and I died laughing and said, "Well, I can't speak for all white people, but I found it at a head shop in Michigan". I knew then it was about to be over. RIP EM 🤣)

Good morning beautiful lady, I have had 3 signature scents! First one, Kiehls Musk in rollerball; it was discontinued, and the spray is not the same!!!! Then came my Patchouli pure from Fresh!!! I would be followed, chased and always asked “what is that” ? You smell amazing! Same, discontinued!!! 😢! Lastly, H20 blue! Fresh, long lasting and I was always told that my presence was known, because I left a trail!!! I wore it for years, and sadly taken of the market ! They company went totally green! So never to be seen again! 😢 So I have promised to never have a signature scent! Lol!!! When someone loves the way I smell, I will always say; “enjoy it, because I might not wear it until next year “!!! Lol! Great video! Be blessed

Hey Chris! I'm new here and found you through your video on the Henry Rose fragrances. I'm not even very into fragrances, I was just looking at review videos on Henry Rose because I was interested in trying them out as I've never actually had a full sized bottle of perfume before and thought it would be fun to have a scent I can wear often that brings me joy and elevates my day and impression. That being said, I've still watched several of your videos in full length because I just find you nice to watch. I like your warm, calm, confident energy. And I also find it so cool how you're able to describe a scent so clearly.
I would love to see a full video on your favorite "clean ingredient" fragrance finds. Let me know if you already have a video like that and I missed it while searching!

Hi SE! That’s why this was so hard! I had Gold in the top 10 but it got bumped out (same with Eau Duelle)……Gypsy Water kind of took its place. You are right. I have it and LOVE it. 🥰🥰🥰😉
My top go to fragrances are Coco Chanel and Coco Noir, Chanel Chance, Velvet Rose and Oud and Myrrh and Tonka by Jo Malone for winter days. I love Coromandel but it gives me a massive headache that I had to return it. I love Torn but longevity is a issue. Gotta check out Queens and Monsters. My favorite Jo Malone light ones are Lime Basil and Mandarin for spring and summer and Poppy Scarlet. Both are amazing! I’m planning to visit the Chanel Atelier’s for my birthday in hopes I’ll find another Chanel fragrances to take home. My #1 favorite is CoCo which I already own.

Definitely agree on Mon Guerlain range and if I ever have to choose a signature scent that’s what it would be, since I own and love all of the formulations, EDT, EDP and intense. Meliora gets compared to Amethyst and I only have the latter, but it’s lovely albeit poor performance. Just got an inspired version of Coromandel from Dua Fragrances and I’m looking forward to smelling it once I get it in the mail 😆
I’m going to get a sample of Amethyst so I can tell you definitively! I also haven’t tried several of the flankers of MG (because I love the original/EDp Intense so much) but I’m sure I’d love them also. 🥰

Wow Chris, what a great list. Quite a few of these are on my wishlist and yet again I do not own a single one of these. I so wish I could get Gris Dior, yet, that is even more unlikely now the prices have gone up for everything. Santal Basmati sounds amazing, I love sandalwood and rice notes. I also really need to try the 7 virtues. We now have Sephora here in the UK, yay, since yesterday, and they actually carry the 7 Virtues. So I need to do some research on them.

@@ThePerfumeNest Yep, sniffer most certainly back to normal. Sometimes I wish it wasn‘t cos it would save me some money. Sephora is currently only online and then at some point they will open a shop in London, and further down the line hopefulyl more shops in other cities. So for now it would be blind buys, but we don‘t mind those, do we?

Some of my favorites on this list🔥👏😊 Queens & Monsters and Femme Individuelle I bought per your recommendation. Love Q&M and FI would be a love if only it had better projection and longevity! Coromandel...YES!! Also, love Trajan😘 Need the tea on the oils and if they really add that extra kick because I've never pulled the trigger on Gypsy Water due to it's performance.

If I could keep myself from collecting perfume, huge IF, Mon Guerlain would be my signature. In a way, I guess it kind of already is because I have worn it enough that people associate the smell with me. It is very “me” and was a love at first sniff. Okay, not going to lie, I like your eye color better, but I respect your boldness. I was happy to read that your eyes recovered from the irritation. Whew! That could have been very bad.

I am all for the Bottega Veneta and Gris Dior! I adore these 2 to bits 😍 I've recently acquired Trajan and I still don't know where to place it into my fragrance wardrobe as a category. Coromandel swoons me BUT I save it for sweater weather. And Santal Basmati is my comforting sandalwood, my God it's such a safe haven 🥰

Musk 12 is very similar to Skin/Clean Reserve, a tad less sweet I'd say ☺️ but very nice and easy to grab and go, beautiful to layer with other fragrances. 👌

Hi Tammy! Yes it was super fun because like you, I have had brown eyes my whole life. I wasn’t afraid as much because I knew it would only be a few hours (turned out to be around 4-5 hours) and my suggestion would be go through your eye doctor. I already wear contacts but they have always been clear. These I ordered online and they didn’t fit perfectly so they scratched my eyelids on the inside. I’ll definitely try again with a softer shade and a doctor approved set. 😉❤️
@@ThePerfumeNest Yes good advice! I’ve never worn contacts before.. ouch! Hope your eyes aren’t too sore! I tried a Snapchat filter that made my eyes blue once and it looked cool! My sister has blue eyes and my Mom literally calls us Brown and Blue for nicknames! 😅

I only found your channel a few weeks ago and you quickly became one of my favourites. I don't use signature scent since I have got the discontinuation curse. Everytime I choose one, it gets discontinued.
(This is my first comment, so please if you find what I'm about to say disrespectful, feel free to delete it. I just want to recommend korean lenses, like Olens, if you enjoy playing around with color lenses. They're very breathable and look natural regardless of anyone's natural eye color).

I thought it would be fun to play with tinted lenses and even though it was….these were the wrong lenses. They didn’t fit ….and they really bothered me…actually scratched my lids. To have a YT channel, you MUST develop a thick skin. I learned that early on because there are just really unpleasant ppl on social media who are anything but kind. I love your suggestion thank you. I’m fairly laid back with YT…the contacts hurt, I couldn’t see anything, the sun in the window was too much, lighting was off. Many others would have refilmed. Nope. Not me. I just smile and move on to the next one! I will definitely look into Olens…..thank you. But it was fun to change my color. 😁🙃🥰

I love playing around with my looks too, and color lenses are such a fun to do it. Korean lenses also have a wider range of colors, like cloud gray or the most striking khakis. We visited the arch, naturally. We stopped at the basilica, ate bbq at SugarFire, and a bunch more. Our friends from VA met us here and we had a blast together. I promise to let you know next time we’re in town and we’ll see the sea lion show. The sea lion exhibit is so neat! Will email you some pictures when we get home 🥰

Excellent video as always! If you’ve tried Bond 9 Greenwich Village and House of Sillage Whispers of Truth, how do you rank Trajan with these two (scent profile, longevity & projection)? I’m trying to make a decision with these (since I see these in a similar category/scent profile).
Sure!!! Well they fall in the same scent category….Trajan is the softest I would say. That and GW are the most wearable form of that DNA. Whispers is more floral and citrusy. And stronger.

I have way too many fragrances to have a signature scent, but I’ve been wearing Wood Sage and Sea Salt a lot lately. I find it to be a very comforting scent! Will have to buy myself the body cream.

I’m 30 and I hate most patchouli fragances but LOVE coromandel 🤭 my favorite hands down, but also love Noir de Noir, Coco Noir and Allure Sensuelle. The type that I hate seems to be the fresh floral and fruity with earthy patchouli 😵💫😵💫 I feel dirty. Ex: Coco Mademoiselle, Attrape-Rêves, La vie est Belle… top popular ones!😂

I love Dior Gris and Bottega Veneta but find them very similar, especially in the dry down. Do you think it would be redundant to own both? I would love to try the Chanel you mentioned as well!
Hmmm. BV is much more powdery but yes if you find them similar pick one. Because they are pricey! If you like rose….I find Gris Dior a touch more versatile . If you have time for a day trip, swing by your local higher end dept store to try out Coromandel (call first to make sure they have it). This is one you need to test and wear I feel.
Nowadays is hard when you are in a limbo between a wearer and a collector to have a signature scent even though I cheat on her Alien Essence Absolue and after I have like 15 more Amouage Gold and Sandal Rubí are stamps for special occasions I agree on Angel EDT the OG I prefer to smell on a man and mitsouko is a must
