Honestly, she seemed so much more comfortable and *happy* with Jeremiah than Conrad - he even helped her and protected her rep at EVERY turn whilst Conrad just stood there, inactive in the friendship let alone the romance.
um no. belly and jeremiah don’t have any chemistry as more than platonic best friends. Jeremiah was being toxic as hell by sabotaging any moment belly and conrad had together. Conrad rejected belly because he knew he couldn’t be there for her in the way she needed him to be. he was protecting her feelings as best he could. did he say some iffy things? yes but jere did a lot of iffy things. i’m the books and the show. team conrad for life
everyones talking about conrad this and jeremiah that, but why doesnt everyone tall about how belly casually made out with 3 guys in one season like cmon
To me, the vampire diaries were the main comparison I made to the summer I turned pretty. And it’s also a coincidence that the actor who plays Jeremiah also played younger Damon so… also my personal opinion but #TeamJeremiah
Ikr. I knew I saw Jeremiah somewhere and then it clicked in my head. Its also pretty ironic cuz the protag fell for brothers kinda like Elena yet they chose the more brooding one. My opinion but #TeamStefan and #TeamJeremiah
I looove Jeremiah but I cannot ship him with Belly. It just seems so platonic, I was caught completely off guard during the fireworks scene, it came out of nowhere. I then read the first book and it was so much more obvious in the book. Anyway team Conrad all the way, I don't like how he is described by people as mysterious or serious, the guy is just straight up depressed, and the actor did a great job with that.
i feel like jeremiah is healthier for her?? she was genuinely happy when she was with him. they had everything to be together. IT WAS PERFRCT and then the last scene happened and i was like “excuse me??????”
conrad was a jerk bc he was dealing with his mom’s cancer and couldnt talk to anyone abt it. lets talk about how con loved her before the summer she turned pretty. jeremiah only liked her when she turned pretty and because he was jealous of what con and belly had. con put belly first by distancing himself and telling her jeremiah was the better choice bc he knew that jeremiah was emotionally available at the time
I already know belly is probably gonna end up with Conrad but she just seems so much happier when she is with Jeremiah, and Conrad continues to play with her feelings. It may just be my opinion but Jeremiah is way better for belly. # team jelly
if she was happier why would she still want conrad? you guys need to realize that she wants to be with conrad, we don’t know why so it’s not perfect with Jeremiah either
@@ghitabenkirane1026 cuz first loves are hard to get over. In the books it’d explained it more clearly. Conrad has her past, 12,13,14,15,even 16. But Jeremiah has her present and future. Jeremiah and belly totally were perfect for eachother. Conrad ruined it for them. He literally told belly DAYS before the wedding he loved her then HOURS before.
i never NEVER care about the parents, who wants to see old people live old people lives?? BUT this time i loved every scene with them, the moms were amazing
I’m team Jere. I love how Jeremiah goes out of his way to tell Belly she's beautiful and just how special she is to him. He never leads her on or plays with her feelings like Conrad does. And before conrad stans come at me, yes i HAVE read the books.
i definitely feel that maybe this summer jere was the right choice BUT remember that Conrad isn't always this moody and stuff and he was dealing with so much. He also acted much more maturely than Jeremiah. When Jere saw Conrad and belly together, he almost blew them up with a firework. When Conrad saw Jere and belly together, he told her how Jere was the better choice and acted MATURELY about it. For both the books and the series, Jere put himself and what he wanted first, but Conrad ALWAYS put Belly first. I feel like jere and belly are more platonic soulmates, confusing feelings whereas conrad and belly are romantic soulmates.
@@vaybedumb I mostly agree with you, but personally I don't think conrad has always put belly first. he's very selfless, and i love him for that but there are times when he has put himself first. Like when he crashed bellys and cams date, or when he tried to kiss belly while he was aware that he was with nicole and she was with cam. He only started backing off when Taylor and Belly both told him to. I understand why he was moody and I personally don't see that as a flaw with him cause he was going through so much. I hope they don't get into a relationship with each other until Conrad can learn to not 'need' belly, otherwise it may end in a co-dependant relationship.
@@vaybedumb I’m going to have to disagree with you there. Jeremiah literally hid that he liked Belly because he knew she liked Conrad and didn’t want to ruin anything for her. That doesn’t sound very selfish to me. Yes, the firework thing was immature, but y’all acting like that scene represents his entire character. And It’s not like he was trying to hurt them, it was 1 firework and the firework wasn’t aimed near them. he’s a teenage boy who acted on an impulse one time. On the other hand, Conrad REPEATEDLY treats Belly and those around him terribly, which is selfish. He plays with belly’s feelings, leading her on, crashes belly’s first date, tries to kiss belly when he was with Nicole, and tells Belly that he “needs” her to survive (which is not healthy) Yes, he’s going through a lot but that doesn’t give him an excuse to act the way he does. At the end of book 1 and in book 2 Jeremiah finds out/goes through the same things as Connor does regarding their mom and the house (and is dealing with the pain of Belly being with Conrad) Yet despite all this, he chooses to not take out his pain on those around him and continues to treat Belly with nothing but kindness and respect. This is part of the reason why the incident in book 3 felt so out of character for him.
I WAS TEAM JEREMIAH FROM THE START BUT THEN HIS CHARACTER LOWKEY UNDEVELOPED IN THE BOOKS SO I SORTA HAD TO BE TEAM CONRAD. ILL ALWAYS BE TEAM JEREMIAH IN MY HEART😔🤧
Conrad was jerky and seemed like a red flag because he was crushing under the weight of his mother’s cancer, his parents’ divorce and his feelings for Belly. Still though, in the end he gets better and even wants Belly to be happy because he has liked her since before she turned pretty (he was the only one who would include Belly in their trio). He was distancing himself as much as he could for Belly to be happy with Jeremiah until he had to step in. Jeremiah has always been kind to her but also didn’t show that he liked her until he saw Conrad and Belly almost kiss. Tbh there has always been a flirtatious vibe but it also came out of nowhere in a sense. Possessive and adorable but of course with his flaws. In the end, Cam Cameron is the best guy but Conrad is the best guy for Belly since she can’t get over him. Realistically none of us would choose either of them irl but this was fun
Am I the only one who would choose Jeremiah? Honestly in the book he was so kind to Belly always and in the show he didn’t show his feelings until he saw Belly and Conrad together.
I think that The Way I Loved You playing when Conrad stands up to dance with Belly at the Deb Ball was a perfect song choice. The verses are about a guy who's safe and does everything right and always knows what to say, and the chorus is about a relationship with fighting and passion. I think that's perfect symbolism for Jeremiah vs Conrad. Jere is the safe choice, he would never intentionally hurt her, but Conrad is the guy she could kiss in the rain and curse his name at 2am.
I was literally thinking the same thing!!! I was just amazed at this show foe using Taylors songs for when Conrad and Belly were together, or having a romantic moment.
Jeremiah is the classic 2nd child compared to the golden child Conrad. Jeremiah wants Belly only because he is a f boy and is perhaps jealous of Conrad. Everyone know Belly was in love with Conrad but it didn’t stop Jer from trying to keep them apart like with the fireworks and suggesting Nicole ask Conrad to go that concert with her.
Great analysis that I talked about in my comment too!! I think everyone can ship Belly and Jeremiah but at the end of the day Belly WANTS Conrad and she can’t change that. The soundtrack was so good all around. We all know that if Taylor Swift plays in their scenes, Bonrad is most definitely end game :)
honestly I don't understand why people still prefer to live complicated and difficult relationships when they have the option of having a healthy and fun romance?! always this "heart wants what it wants" shit, like it's cool to go through hell just because you're in love with certain aspects of someone else.
There is real chemistry between Jeremiah and Belly on the show. It looks fake and forced when they push Conrad and Belly together, it kinda makes me uncomfortable, like I should fast forward thru those parts
@@notapplicable1296 Forced? Respectfully I disagree. The chemistry between Lola and Chris is great, but different from Lola and Gavin. Plus you might change your after Season 3.
rlly liked binging the show and stayed up till 4 am but let me say I AM TEAM JEREMIAH ALL THE WAY like they had more chemistry and looked more better together some thoughts I have was: - Taylor gave me red flags from the beginning but somewhat grew on me after shipping belly and jeremiah - steven is an idiot what can I say but he trys and maybe if theres a season 2 we can see his chracter develop -surprised with how quick shayla was ok with him cheating and spending all his money like I thought she would know thats not good - I feel rlly bad for cam like he was rlly sweet and like honestly was also better then conrad - also it felt so sudden for conrad to fall for belly LIKE BOY WAS BARELY INTERACTING WITH HER THIS SUMMER - ALSO THE ENDING INFURIATED ME LIKE I WAS SCREAMING AT THE END WITH ANGER LIKE THAT KISS FELT SUDDEN AND I ALSO HATED TO SEE MY SHIP FAIL SO THIS JUST MY BIASED OPINION BUT OH WELL sorry for the rant but none of my friends watched the show so this was the next best thing
conrad was a jerk bc he was dealing with his mom’s cancer and couldnt talk to anyone abt it. lets talk about how con loved her before the summer she turned pretty. jeremiah only liked her when she turned pretty and because he was jealous of what con and belly had. con put belly first by distancing himself and telling her jeremiah was the better choice bc he knew that jeremiah was emotionally available at the time
@@wynstical okay but..I can bet when jere now knows about Sussanah, he won't cut people out. And no, it's the exact opposite. Jere was in love for years and Conrad liked her when she grew up. It's said in the show that Jere waited for her. It's literally what their own characters said
@@minaveljovic9662 con taught her how to dance, the muffin, inifnity, and the stuffed bear?? there were no cute flashbacks of her and jeremiah. also did u ever realize that he could be lying?? the confession was so sudden they literally had no chemistry, he was just jealous of what con and belly had and literally did not think of her that way before she was pretty. also its not just the fact that he knew, its the fact that he was bottling it inside and didnt have anyone to talk to it about. it was to the point where he even had a panic attack. mans was going thru the worst months of his life, ofc he cut belly out, he wanted her to be with someone who wasnt a mess
Part 2: Jeremiah I am a sucker for friendship to lovers. I love couples that start as friends because they built a foundation. They can talk about anything and they established trust. Jeremiah was this for Belly. I also liked how he always tried to respect her and treat her well. Yes, he was a bit of a flirt and he said some jerking things, but he took his relationship seriously with her and respected her boundaries. Conrad did not do that. I give him a pass for being late to their dance because he literally just discovered his mom had cancer. That is a lot. But I wish it was a cute “sorry I am late” scene or Shayla and Steven dancing with her. Why did Conrad choose now to just lead her on again? Jeremiah should bot have interrupted Belly’s kiss with Conrad, but I can see where he is coming from, but Belly made the decision to move on with Jeremiah. Also, Jeremiah made sure she wanted a relationship too. They made sure they were on the same page. I love that scene where Belly calls him to pick her and Taylor up. It shows she can rely on him and trust him. I am sorry, if your friend approves the healthy guy for you, listen to them. They are not against the toxic person to be against the toxic person. They just want what is best for you. I am team Jelly all the way. Well I loved Cam the best, but for where the story was going, i became a huge Jelly shipper.
She is not in love "with both brothers", she is in love with Conrad, she always has been, and HE always has been in love with her too ( they made this even more obvious in the books ), Jeremiah was always like more of a best friend and they only got together because Belly was tired of waiting for Conrad and kinda used him to try to moove on if we are being honest, even in the books its pretty obvious that Conrad is the only choice but i feel like in the show they are making it even more clear
Dude, this is how it was with Twilight too. Everyone said Bella was in love with Edward and Jacob but nope. It was ALWAYS Edward. She even flat out says this. Same thing with Belly and Conrad (and I haven’t even read the books though I did google the ending🤣). Everything goes back to Connie dearest, the flashbacks, the narration, the eye banging. Jeremy doesn’t stand a whistle of a chance. He’s Jacob, the bestie who tries but can’t catch a break. At least, unlike Jakey, Jer won’t fall in love with Conrad and Belly’s demon baby. Jesus, Stephanie, what were you thinking with that 😫
i already know who belly ends up with from the books and even in the book i kept switching between conrad and jeremiah but now i’m like fully team conrad. jeremiah will always be my favorite character tho
when i started the show, i gaslit myself into thinking that jeremiah is just her over protective kinda brother, but not really BUT then i was like Jeremiah? And now finishing the show, even with that ending I'm still team jeremiah
I genuinely think they had a sibling relationship in the first few episodes. Then they randomly switched it up in episode 5, making them a romantic. They didn't do a good job of making it romantic in the first few episodes. He had that big brother energy.
I 100% agree with you. You said what was on my mind!!! Why was she pursuing both ?? Why did she and Conrad kiss at the end with no closure with Jeremiah if she ended up choosing Conrad 😭😭Cam cameron deserved better and Jeremiah deserves better than this for sure!! Conrad has so many issues and continues to treat her poorly. Honestly i don’t get why he couldn’t just tell her from the start that his mom is ill and that is why he is upset all the time. Communication would have saved everyone’s time😅. At the ending scene, she was determined not to stay with Conrad but then he told her i need you i want you then the kiss?? She changed her mind about the whole thing a little too fast maybe!! This was so confusing to me.
Conrad didn't tell anyone because he didn't want to ruin their summer. He wanted his mom to have the perfect last summer and for everyone else to also be happy. He wasn't being selfish, he was being selfless.
Team Jeremiah. I read the books. I've always been Team Jeremiah. I felt he was done dirty in the 3rd book, it felt unlike him and super out of character.
THANK YOU!!!! Book 3 was so completely out of character and sudden with Jeremiah. I feel like they just wanted an excuse to make Belly and Conrad get together.
I’m currently team Jeremiah all the way!! 🥰that Bonrad kiss at the end was horrible I’m sorry 🤷🏽♀️ the only thing I like about Belly and Conrad was their flashbacks and the infinity necklace he got her for her bday and the story behind it. Their bond is so strong ❤️ but Jelly outshined this season. Hopefully season 2 we’ll see more interaction between Bonrad but as of right now I’m team JellyFisher lol
I think that the books and the TV show is so different so..... I think that the producers can change the story slightly to make Belly end up with Jeremiah, because he is fun, sweet and makes Belly happier than Conrad does.
Part 3: cam and kissing booth Cam was the best option. He listened. He was respectful. He was so sweet and understanding. He noticed her when she considered herself as “ugly” even though she never was. He took the teasing of her friends and family like a trooper. Have to respect that. Cam. Sweet Cam. When watching the show and reading the first book, all I did was compare it to the kissing booth. I felt Conrad got a lot of Noah’s bad traits (book wise). Jeremiah was a less whiny and more fun version of Lee. And book wise, Belly was like Elle. She was insecure, gets jealous a lot, and was possessive over everyone which got really annoying. I don’t like her wishy washiness in the show, but her character did improve from her book counterpart. Oh and the other comparison was the two moms being friends forever and sort if raising the kids together.
That's the main reason I felt so bad for cam 😭😭 he was better than both Conrad and jeremiah but I knew there was no possible chance him and belly would be end game since he wasn't part of the main love triangle
Thanks for this I agree 💯 with this opinion. Jeremiah is bisexual but he wasn't in the book because the creator wanted to kinda rewrite him to like make him modern I guess. Amazon prime bought the 2nd season of the summer I turned pretty but I'm not sure it will come out.
idk why and i know this is such an unpopular opinion but jere has always given me the ick because he never showed that he liked belly until conrad started showing interest, and the amount of times he tried to sabotage belly and connie was crazy, but even after all the sabotage they found their way back to each other which must mean something. i personally had the same thing happen to me with my parents divorce, i knew it was going to happen and my brother didn’t and it hurt him a lot more when he found out. i regret not telling him but for connie i think he was just respecting susannahs wish of one last perfect summer, (he’s a mommas boy after all) i do think that jere punching conrad was totally out of pocket, but i can’t say i wouldn’t do the same, everyone needs to be mad sometimes. honestly connie was such a good older sibling the way he let his brother take out his anger on him and didn’t fight back. idk what it is about jere but him and belly just seem forced while belly and conrad come naturally. also jere seems like he’s putting on a show of happiness when deep down he’s extremely jealous of his brother and belly, which i personally hate. i mean speak now or forever hold your peace, sabotaging them wasn’t the way to go he should’ve said something. overall i don’t get how people like jere and i’m really trying to like him so please convince me that he’s not a terrible person 😭 in the end connie isn’t a perfect boy, but he’s belly’s perfect boy and their love goes on for infinity..i always knew jere was gonna cheat i mean bfr he hooked up with almost every person in cousins. jere said he would never hurt belly but he did, and connie always loved belly, he just never realized how much he loved her. sorry for ranting it’s like 3 am and i can’t sleep lol
Team Conrad (before you hate on me here’s why) 1. A lot of people are talking about how Conrad only saw Belly as a “little kid” before the summer she turned pretty but THAT’S A GOOD THING! Keep in mind that they’re two years apart and it would be slightly weird if he thought otherwise when they were really young (two years is a lot for kids). 2. Obviously Jere is a sweetheart and treated Belly very well but Conrad would’ve done the same or more if it weren’t for everything he was going through. He knew about his mom’s cancer, was well aware about his dad cheating on his mom, he quit his sport and started having really bad panic attacks!!Imagine you knew that you wouldn’t have parents anymore at such a young age because your mom is dying and your dad had an affair. Imagine you had the weight of the world on your shoulders and felt like you couldn’t tell anyone about it because you didn’t want to ruin the summer. I completely agree that his actions aren’t excusable in any way but he very clearly had a reason for these bad actions. 3. THE FLASHBACKS. omg these scenes really got to me. The whole infinity pancakes and then translating that into the necklace. PERFECTION! I think it’s also important to note that Conrad always included Belly (there is a reason she had a huge crush on him, be real people). It seemed like Jere put Belly in the background and hanged out with Steven mostly (which is fine but Conrad really made an effort with her even if it was platonic to him). This is another example of Conrad not just being the cold bad-boy that is portrayed in the show. 4. The books. There isn’t much I can say here because I haven’t read them YET but I’m aware of something not so nice happening with Jere’s character in book 3. Also, most book fans really love Conrad and Belly so that’s something for us to consider too. 5. Although I love Jeremiah so much, Belly could never think of him or treat him like her number one. Just like with Cam Cameron. I also want to note here about the brilliant connection with playing The Way I Loved You by Taylor Swift at the Deb Ball. LISTEN TO THE SONG RN IF YOU ARENT FAMILIAR WITH IT! Anyways, the song is about a girl having a really good boyfriend. Perfect on paper, super sweet (the Jeremiah per se). The girl is happy with the relationship but she always has and always will have something with a different guy (the Conrad). Belly will always appreciate Jere but she wants someone she can scream and fight and kiss in the rain ;) 6. I’ll make this my final point because I’m sure you’re bored of this comment but Jenny Han is a huge Swiftie (as am I). There are 5 Taylor Swift songs in TSITP: Lover, Cruel Summer, False God, The Way I Loved You and This Love (Taylors Version). It’s always Conrad and Belly in the Taylor Swift scenes. You know and I know and Jenny knows that when Taylor is playing, it means end game :) I don’t know if anyone could ever read this entire comment, but hopefully I changed your perspective a bit! Also, feel free to debate me (kindly) because maybe you could change my mind (unlikely) too💕
When I first watched the first few episodes I thought it’s going to be pretty shallow story wise but I love how every character has their own thing going on
The part where Amanda said around 13:15 - 13:32, she really said it all for me. But alsooo, I can't get enough of that Jelly chemistryy thoo! It gives me butterflies every time!
I would pick Conrad. Everybody was asking why a sweet Conrad has changed, this only means that he was not always like that being broody. Her Connection with Conrad will always stronger than any other guys in the show.
I’ve never seen your videos before but I’ve watched three now, one about Wednesday, one about Miraculous, and this one. And we have the exact same views about literally everything. Every ship every plot hole everything. I love it
team conrad all the way - i think jeremiah just liked the idea of belly, and not belly - they're better off as friends, especially because everyone kept shipping them. conrad was more quiet and seemed to have more chemistry with belly (in my opinion with their rare interactions), since he had so much weight on his back (e.g. his moms cancer) so it makes his quiet character have a meaning behind it. i think team conrad because his birthday present and how he expresses his feelings for belly even in a different way just my (biased) opinion dont hate me
No because this is lowkey exactly my thoughts I was contemplating if i Should make a pros snd cons list comparing conrad and jeremiah just for fun like for myself lol
I would pick Jeremiah because Jeremiah is cute. He’s got a really good heart. He’s very funny and he’s always there for belly whenever she needs him. He’s always there for her and that’s the type of guy that you need.
(my heart is always with cam cameron) but I have to say, the main thing that turned me away from Jeremiah was how manipulative he was between Conrad and Belly. At least in the books he accepted it and moved on :/
JEREMIAH! Honestly, he and Belly are much more comfortable and less awkward together. Conrad doesn't respect Belly at all. He lies to her repeatedly, leads her on, insults her multiple times, and is only interested on his terms. He is toxic and manipulative. (And sorry IDC that his mom is dying, it's not an excuse to be abusive to someone you "love" that doesn't even know what's going on) Jeremiah, on the other hand, just tells her he likes and ASKS HER what she wants. He has a way bigger heart than Conrad. Also, he's WAY cuter! When Belly is with Conrad, the worst parts of her come out. When she is with Jeremiah, she is more authentically herself. She's relaxed, confident and happy. When's she with Conrad- she's insecure, defensive, uptight, and just flat unhappy. Also, can we talk about the fact that Belly CHEATS on Jeremiah? He at LEAST deserved a conversation before making out with his brother, his brother who's been a total d**k to her all summer. (And I don't care if they shared ONE dance, as if that automatically eliminates all the passive aggressive and other ABUSE he threw at Belly all summer.) I was honestly upset that she kissed Conrad at the end, he did NOTHING to earn her trust, respect or her love. He never really even apologized for what an ass he was to her all summer. Even the way they act SEPARTELY from her. Conrad LIES to other people and doesn't say what he means to Belly's face. Jeremiah defends her behind her back, tries to help her, supports everything she does, and tells her his real feelings to her face, no games- no manipulation. Even when she's dating Cameron, Jeremiah doesn't force his own agenda on her. He waits until she is broken up and even asks HOW SHE FEELS and for her CONSENT. Conrad manipulates her on the 4th of July and almost kisses her, despite the fact that she currently has a BF. I love Jenny Han, but I feel like in this case, she had the idea that Belly and Conrad were endgame, but if she had allowed the characters to be true to themselves, then Belly would have ended up with Jeremiah. And what a great and unexpected ending that would have been, especially considering the parallel to Sabrina- a story in which a woman is in love with one brother her whole life only to learn she's really in love and more compatible with the other brother. Belly and Jeremiah are just flat out more compatible. Even if Belly and Conrad end up together, I never believe their relationship will survive. He'll get moody ,shut down, and be emotionally manipulative and abusive. :( Belly deserved the BETTER brother! TEAM JELLY FOREVER! If you cut out the Waltz and the kiss at the end, it's perfect. (which honestly feels tacked on, anyway) It doesn't make sense that Belly would make the shift from brother to brother THAT fast considering how they both treated her leading up to that. Even IF she always had a crush on Conrad, so what? Someone want to make a JELLY cut?
I think this whole analysis missed the point of Conrad’s complicated character (though I appreciate your honesty and hope we can have a mature conversation). I want to first touch on the fact that Conrad wasn’t always a closed off, cold hearted, bad guy. We can clearly see in flashbacks that Conrad always included Belly when Jeremiah didn’t. Jere always chose to hang out with Steven instead of her. No, I don’t think Conrad had a crush on her until this summer but I also don’t believe Jere did. Conrad is two years older than her and for young kids, thats a lot! So it’s completely understandable why he saw their relationship as platonic. Although, Jere says that he always liked Belly, he has a weird way of showing it as it looks like he ignored her in their childhood or had more of a best friend relationship. You “not caring” about Conrad’s mother dying says a lot about the empathy you have for characters. Obviously Jeremiah was going to be more emotionally available, ignorance is bliss! Conrad not only had to deal with knowing about his mother’s cancer, he also knew about his dad having an affair, he quit his sport and developed severe anxiety! Don’t down play his mental health to prove a point. Of course this doesn’t excuse Conrad’s actions but as a person who has lost someone really important to me, don’t ever tell someone how to grieve. It’s different for everyone. Conrad’s actions were awful as you mentioned but it’s obvious he was not always like this and there’s room for growth and change. No character is perfect because no person is perfect. I think Jere is a great guy and I always love the cute Jelly scenes but I don’t tolerate completely bashing Conrad and calling him the bad guy without looking at the depth of his character. Let me know your thoughts!
I literally feel the exact same way. Although, I did read the books before the show, and let me just make one thing clear. Conrad hasn’t always loved Belly. It’s clearly stated in the book. Jeremiah has always felt something towards her. I also freaking love Jeremiah. He’s amazing.
I hope that belly does an Elena and chooses the second brother because Elena was head over heals for Stefan and always went back to Stefan but Damon was the one for her
HONESTLY IF I HADNT READ THE TRILOGY AND WATCHED THE SHOW THEN I WOULD 100% BE #TEAMJEREMIAH BUT SINCE I HAVE READ THE BOOKS I KNOW CONRAD WAS THE BETTER CHOICE.YEAH JERE WAS ALWAYS GOOD TO HER FROM THE BEGINNING BUT HIS CHARACTER WAS TOTALLY RUINED IN THE LAST BOOK ,BOOK READERS WILL KNOW WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT.CONRAD HAD TOO MUCH GOING ON HIS LIFE ,HIS DECISIONS WERE MADE FOR THE BETTERMENT OF THE PEOPLE HE LOVED. CONRAD CARED FOR BELLY SINCE THEY WERE KIDS. I AM #TEAMCONRAD BECAUSE OF THE BOOKS. IN THIRD BOOK IT FELT LIKE WE WERE MADE TO CHOOSE A SPECIFIC TEAM. FOR TV SERIES IM TEAM JERE THO.I JUST DONT WANT THEM TO RUIN JERE'S CHARACTER IN THE TV SERIES AS THEY DID IN THE BOOKS.
My biggest thing is that Jeremiah’s feelings largely stem from competition with Conrad and often lust. He is kind, gentle, and open with her, but I cannot see them being able to work through difficulties together because there isn’t as much as a soul connection. They remind me of very good friends. Whereas with Conrad, they love each other in such a deep overwhelming way that neither of them are mature enough for. He keeps shutting her out not because he’s toxic, but because he knows he’s not ready and can’t be all that she wants while he is hurting. Of course, being young, they still want to make it work and therefore start dating. However, that’s why by the end of s2, Jere is better for Belly. They have a much easier and younger relationship that is attainable and like Belly said, realistic, at least for this stage of their lives. We have seen how sweet and amazing of a boyfriend Conrad is, but he needs a lot of time to process Susannah’s death and sort out his feelings before making a commitment to Belly.
I enjoyed the mom’s relationship. My mom also has cancer and she has her best friend. Their relationship is exactly like the moms in the show so it definitely hits close to home
As much as I like Belly with Jeremiah, she only used him to get over Conrad. With Jeremiah, she seemed more happy and she seemed more of a person than a typical flat main character. But again, she was simply using him because he was the 2nd best choice for her, and realistically speaking the moment they get together, she would probably talk to him for like 5 minutes once a week and then forget him and then repeat. To me, Conrad was more like a regular tv show red flag, and it was only after we learned of the reason for his actions that we saw him as an actual human being. The most realistic characters were probably the moms, Conrad’s mom was about to die, she didn’t show she was scared but we knew she was fearful of dying and wanted to make the most of her time before she passes on but she didn’t want everyone upset so she didn’t tell anyone so the best way-in her view-was to close herself off from people, Conrad only found out on a whim and, Belly’s mom was obviously upset about it because her best friend is about to die and she didn’t tell anyone pretending everything was fine, but she understood her worries-kinda-but obviously she was still furious as she had a right to feel that way. And if I’m being honest, the characters only started to seem more fleshed out after a few more episodes. Conrad is probably the only choice she actually has because I mean, he’s clearly the only person she wants and he wants her so even if she made a promise to not focus on him, it’s clear they’re still gonna be endgame. And I’m not saying the story is bad but it slightly lacks originality and something I’ve noticed in some stories is that comparing to the female lead, the male lead is the only one who’s flaws are acknowledged and this kinda makes the female lead’s character fall flat in that aspect and although the female lead isn’t perfect, it feels like her flaws just make her flat but some of them do seem right for her age I mean comparing yourself to the people around you is a problem some people at her age do have and she can be immature and selfish but I think that’s about it for her. This is probably because I’ve only watched the show and haven’t read the book because come on, we all know books are better than the movie adaptations and I’ve only watched like seven episodes then immediately got bored of it but I might start watching it again
I feel like jere is more of a brother to belly, and he just wanted to like belly because she had always liked conrad and he was jealous, plus, belly had always had more of a romantic connection with conrad, like he taught her how to dance and got junior mint for her. SPOILERS AT READ MORE
in the books she gets engaged to jere, but it feels rushed, jere ends up cheating on her and then she ends up with conrad, i am team conrad but i wish the book was resolved with more friendlier terms between the three because jeremiah and conrad are in this huge fight. (I DO HAVE TO SAY, in book 1, i am team jeremiah, in book two, im split in between the brothers, book three, i am team conrad 100%, and then in the show, team conrad, so overall TEAM CONRADD
Actually, I think that Conrad's the one for her... Jeremiah's interest in Belly was so random, like he never show romantic feelings for her, before he sees his brother into her. So yeah, I think it's was undeveloped and surprising for me. Also, Conrad IS the one for her. He always cared for her, and "loved" her even when she wasn't 'pretty'. The first thing he tells her on the show is that he liked her better with glasses, and was proud that she's responding him. Most importantly, I liked the depth that was brought to his character, like we saw his anxiety problems and how he struggled with his mom's cancer. He was the only one knowing about it, and that just made he feel even more lonely. And even with all these struggles, his love for Belly was really strong, and that just confused him. I really think that he's the one for her, and I WANT them together. However, as someone that read the books, people will hate on him next season, and if they follow the books, people will understand him till season 3... I really encourage y'all to read the books, you just understand more the characters. PS : I really hated what Jeremiah did at the beginning of the third book, I would never have taken him back. But also, they did him a little dirty even though I think it was for the best.
totally agree with u! i was so mad when jeremiah just ruined belly and conrad's relationship by kissing her and making out with her... and when belly accepted his proposal like girl noooo. i love him but i will never forgive him for what he did in the third book. they did do him dirty tho but i think it's for the best like u said because conrad is the obvious choice for belly.
Conrad knew he wasn’t in a good mental space and knew that he was treating Belly badly as a result. Instead of focusing on himself and getting help he tried to go after Belly when she was trying to pursue someone else. People harp on Jer for being jealous but Conrad did it first, only to then leave her in the dust when she began to reciprocate the attention. It was extremely unfair of him and to his credit, he knew this, but still didn’t do anything about it which led to him leading Nicole and Belly on. Cam was perfect and deserved more. They just didn’t have the chemistry and that’s alright. He and Belly only went on dates but they were never exclusive and dating so even though he ended up hurt I don’t support Belly slander over this. I’ve rarely met anyone who has just one crush that they’re devoted to. Jer in my opinion was the best option. Every time there was a scene with him Belly felt welcome and overall the vibes were just amazing between them. Everyone says he’s just a bff character overlooks the fact that going from friends to lovers IS a thing and imo the chemistry is the best that way. These are just my thoughts
remember that Conrad isn't always this moody and stuff like he's usually more like Jeremiah and he was dealing with so much.
Part 1: Conrad While Conrad is more nuanced on the show than in the books, I felt he was filled with red flags. In the book, there was the line, “just because you are going through something does not mean you can treat someone like crap” and I agree. I respect that Conrad is trying to protect everyone and follow his mom’s wishes, but he should not have been a jerk almost every chance he got with Belly. I felt his red flags were besides miscommunication were just insulting her and sometimes gaslighting her. They had a couple of nice moments but you never know what you are getting with him. Also, it is a huge red flag when someone always takes their opportunity when they are happy and a good place. She and Jeremiah just started dating and they did not even break up before he just pounced and stepped in. I get Jeremiah was late to the dance, but Conrad using it as an opportunity to usurp the brother did not sit right with me.
@@preppygracie_xo I GET THAT! BUT I WILL LEAVE IT AT I DON’T LIKE IT. Also, it sucks that he only left because no one told him anything. I feel in the books and show, he is set up to fail at times. This comment is my personal bias and not disagreeing with you.
@@gabrielleduplessis7388 true, idk why and i know this is such an unpopular opinion but jere has always given me the ick because he never showed that he liked belly until conrad started showing interest, and the amount of times he tried to sabotage belly and connie was crazy, but even after all the sabotage they found their way back to each other which must mean something. i partially agree with you but i personally had the same thing happen to me with my parents divorce, i knew it was going to happen and my brother didn’t and it hurt him a lot more when he found out. i regret not telling him but i think conrad was just respecting susannahs wish of one last perfect summer, (he’s a mommas boy after all) i do think that jere punching conrad was totally out of pocket, but i can’t say i wouldn’t do the same, everyone needs to be mad sometimes. honestly connie was such a good older sibling the way he let his brother take out his anger on him and didn’t fight back. idk what it is about jere but him and belly just seem forced while belly and conrad come naturally. also jere seems like he’s putting on a show when deep down he’s extremely jealous of his brother and belly, which i personally hate. i mean speak now or forever hold your peace, sabotaging them wasn’t the way to go he should’ve said something. overall i don’t get how people like jere and i’m really trying to like him so please convince me that he’s not a terrible person 😭 in the end connie isn’t a perfect boy, but he’s belly’s perfect boy and their love goes on for infinity..i always knew jere was gonna cheat i mean bfr he hooked up with almost every person in cousins. jere said he would never hurt belly but he did, and connie always loved belly, he just never realized how much he loved her. sorry for ranting it’s like 3 am and i can’t sleep lol
@@preppygracie_xo going with the books, i definitely see that, but I only liked the side characters in them. Show wise, I feel the fireworks scene made sense. Bear with me. Not the best judgment, but I felt Conrad acted like a jerk to her in most of the season and as soon as he saw her liking Cam or Jere, that is when he confessed his feelings. I am not saying Conrad never liked her, but why did he always make his move when she was with someone. That is skivvy. So I feel they switched roles. In the books, it was Jere doing this, but personally, I did not feel that way. In the show, it was Conrad. Agree with why Conrad did not tell Jeremiah about their mom and good point about him not fighting back. I still feel it is a low blow for him to step in and I blame the writers for this. I think Stephen or their other friends should have danced with her and done a group thing or her mom should have like one day at a time when Elena’s mom danced with her when her father left the quince. That would have added to the relationship of Belly and her family. So again, did not enjoy him in book 1. Liked him in book 2, but felt Han just ruined his character in book 3. Show wise, he is so much better. A) I am a friendship to lovers. Not counting the scene where he and Conrad showed up on Cam’s date with her. Actually, strike 1. The positives: out of order. The volleyball game: he stuck by her and respected her boundaries when she wanted to switch partners. Did not like dances, but agreed to be her date when Conrad was being jerkish about it. Picked her up when she and Taylor was stranded. The scene in the car was consensual which also showed he respected her. And Taylor liking her and Jeremiah together. When your friend approves, that is a good sign. I just think think they had a better connection, in my opinion. I also think she liked herself more when she was with him.
I'm not a big fan of the main character's nickname. My aunt has a dog named Belle, and we call her Belly sometimes, so everytime they say her name, it just reminds me of my aunt's dog.
Loved the show and your thoughts. I think your qualms with the friends growing up together thing is unfounded in reality. Even as a kid, you can feel crushes and chemistry and this thing with Conrad was a long time coming. I don’t think this summer changed his view of her. The desire just became undeniable. Btw, unless you are a blood related, there’s no way to be seen as an actual, don’t cross the red line, sibling. Especially when you turn in a pretty woman. The option is always on the table.
its just this very cliche idea of "yes, if i was with him it would be comfortable and easy and life would be fine" but on the other hand "love isnt supposed to be easy, its supposed to make you crazy and feel so may emotions blah blah blah" giving very much "the way i loved you" by taylor swift
everyone talking about Jeremiah being much better for her than Conrad, and although that may be true for THAT summer, remember that Conrad isn't always this moody and stuff and he was dealing with so much.
Very true! I am on team Conrad as well but I think we should mention that Conrad acted immaturely when suggesting to crash Belly’s drive-in date with Cam Cameron. Obviously Conrad was going through absolute hell and deserves forgiveness from Belly and us viewers. The thing about Jelly is that it’s super perfect and so many fans want it to happen but it’s obvious that that’s not what Belly wants!
@@kira3401 i am team conrad too (i literally cried so hard when i finished the series- out of joy) and i agree, but i do believe he was just teasing belly when he suggested crashing her date with cam cameron
@@kira3401 i feel you tho. but i haven’t watched the tv series, so i was talking about the book series and idk how accurate the tv series is compared to the books
Everyone’s saying “iF YoUr TeAm JeLlY YoU HaVaNt ReAd ThE bOoKs” and no I haven’t bec I’m not a big book person but my bestie has and she is STILL team jere because what he did in the book was sooo out of character like he just wouldn’t and the author was probably just trying to find a reason for belly to go back to Conrad. also a lot of people are talking about the “firework almost kiss” but if they *did* kiss they would have BOTH been cheating (with cam and i forget her name but Conrad’s girlfriend)
Belly 👏🏻 doesn't 👏🏻 deserve 👏🏻 Jeremiah 👏🏻 She deserves someone like Conrad, who treats her like shit, cuz she treated both Cam and Jeremiah like shit now!
I'm team Conrad ( cause i basically want jere for myself ). Him and belly have had a connection since they were kids where as jere only started getting into her after hee " glow up" ( hence the name ). If she didnt have said " glow up " Jeremiah would gave never noticed belly. Plus Conrad was mentally drowning with the news of his moms condition so its not fair for people to use that as a reason for team jere. Infact when jere finds out he basically leaves belly alone at the whole ball dance thing so can you really blame either of them.
Trust me, you need to read the books. If you’re worried about not being surprised, don’t be. The show was made with the intentions that most of the audience will have read the books, and so they changed many things. You’d be able to relate so much more to each character and know so much about them all, notice the little things that are sprinkled in to symbolise a memory of their childhood, for example. Anyway, the point of, many things were changed, so much to the point where I’ve got mixed opinion about each character. I just now think of the show and the books as different things, as I really don’t see how similar season 2 can be to the second book. And so I also slightly waver between the ships: I watched the show first and let me tell you, I loved Jeremiah for reasons I could spend all day talking about, but after seeing people saying that you had to read the books to fully understand Conrad, I did (in three days might I add, all while juggling revision for my GCSE exams, really showing how invested I was in the story) and I feel very differently about all the characters. Now I’m not going to say after reading the books I’m fully Team Conrad (for the books), but it made me feel for him more. Let me also say that it was the hardest thing having a picture of Jeremiah in my mind while reading the books. At the start, I really found it difficult to find faults in him because of the beautiful face of Gavin Casalegno I was introduced to. Just read them and you’ll understand everything.
8:45 Belly can have her childhood dream that stopped making sense and you can have Jeremiah, you sure would treat him better lol I want Jer with a really nice person, happy and not just content being someone's second choice.
I was in a situation where I was between two brothers that were my life long friends (not since childhood but pretty close to it)... I'm still with the brother i chose (the younger more quiet one instead of the extrovert older brother). The older brother confessed to me and I had a crush on him too at the same time and the the younger brother was so angry. I didn't realize why at the time but I obviously do know. I honestly don't know how it worked out but we (me and the older brother) ended up not getting together. I know I made the right choice but it was definitely an exciting time.... Now me and the older brother chat about his personal life like were still friends like before and me and my mans are still in love 4 years later
honestly the series is amazing but the reason i think i love this show is because i can relate to it i have a group of family friends and i have had a crush on one of the brothers and only recently relised the other brother may like me but i also may like him too. some of the simularitys are the older boy who i liked i had liked since i was 10 (like belly) and he is 2 years older but the other brother is the same age (like jeremaih) but they also have a younger brother who is like 7 years younger but i really like the series because i can relate but anyway team jelly 4 life even if he does cheat in the book and then propose to cover it up i will always love him and if she dont want him ill take him
Hey, I read The Summer I turned Pretty book series and The Kissing Booth was loosely based on it. I watched the Kissing booth and was super upset that it didn't follow the books. It's like they updated it and left the innocence out of it and the love triangle between the brothers and Belly was changed. Also lots of other things were changed that made The Kissing Booth, not as good as The Summer I turned Pretty. I was hoping somebody would make the show following the books. I was so excited when Amazon advertised the show and I signed right up for Prime. The show follows almost the same as the book, and that's because the writer, Chan, got to have control and do writing on the series. Go read the books. So good!
3:52 You're spot on! and the only other person in the fandom who seems to get thiss!! 5:08 same! A lot of people hate though, think its corny actually XD
I'm definitely team Conrad....becoz Jeremiah he's a perfect guy and so opened like there's no secrets in him and it'll be so boring if there is anything to discover in a relationship.. but Conrad being a mysterious guy it'll be fun to be with him if he opens his heart to u...as u said heart wants what it wants
ok I don’t see jules leblanc, but she REALLY reminds me of this other actor, Isabel May (what a coincidence, isabella and isabel lol). they look like twins and talk the same
I’m team Jeremiah. I think most people have a biased opinion. I saw somewhere someone saying (almost like to belly) “ you can have Conrad as long as I get Jeremiah” and that’s how I feel 100%! Because I LIKE him not necessarily he is better for her, that’s why I WOULD like to see them together… but.. (Spoilers) in the third book she ends up with Conrad, which I guess is fine, but not what I would want, but she’s happy. Also when Jeremiah cheats on belly, it was 1. When they were taking a break and 2. They get back together so fast, not to mention he asks her to marry him!! But then (as always) she remembers things about Conrad and breaks things off with Jeremiah… which I found I little wired. But then again that’s what she always does so I wasn’t surprised…
the books are so much betterrrr I read them in middle school and they took me on such an emotional roller coaster The finale of the trilogy was the first book I ever cried to😭😭
I think for belly the best thing for everyone else would be Conrad but for herself Jeremiah. Only because Belly will always love Conrad and that’s just not fair to jere which would support the first statement but for the second I think if she were with Jeremiah it would be healthier. Like you explained for her Conrad should probably be with her because of my point (although he’s horrible), for me Jeremiah would be the better choice. I understand Conrad is going through things, but in the books Jeremiah also knew about the cancer but never acted like Conrad so you can’t really compare them when it comes to that if you haven’t read the books. Conrad’s personality is just so L and he just made SUCH BAD decisions while Jeremiah’s is so sweet and ideal tbh. Also I don’t like when people say jere only liked her when she became pretty while Conrad always liked her…. Um did we watch the same show? Conrad said out of his own mouth “I’ve always thought of her as a kid but now, shes not.” Hence she turned pretty. While Jeremiah said “it’s ways been Conrad, and this summer it was cam, I guess I was waiting.” HES BEEN WAITING FOR HER FOR SUMMERSSSSS
I agree with a lot of what you’re saying but I’d like to make a point about how I think neither of the boys liked her until “she turned pretty.” 1. Jeremiah He did say that he always liked Belly but when looking at the flashbacks alone (not books because I’m not familiar with them) Jere never includes her. It looks like his best friend is clearly Steven and not Belly at all. When he shot the firework, it seemed completely random for me as a viewer. In my opinion it seems like a lot of Jere’s feelings for Belly stem from jealousy of his brother 2. Conrad Conrad is two years older than Belly. This is obviously not a huge age gap when it comes to adults but for kids who are changing everyday, that’s huge! Imagine 12 year old Conrad liking 10 year old Belly. That seems a bit creepy even and I’m glad he didn’t have feelings for her until they both got older. Even though, Conrad didn’t feel romantically towards Belly in their childhood, he treated her so well. That dancing scene and infinity pancakes have my heart
@@kira3401 Yeah I don’t think he liked her when they were young because like you said that’s kinda weird and I was also confused when belly always said Jeremiah was her best friend because I thought Jere and Steven were closer. But also I think if we’re seeing their relationships as kids now a days, when boys like a girl usually they’re not nice to her they’re actually quite rude which is stupid but yk. And belly said Conrad didn’t actually like her he likes that she liked him I think that’s why he was so nice to her because he wanted her to keep liking him.
Honestly, she seemed so much more comfortable and *happy* with Jeremiah than Conrad - he even helped her and protected her rep at EVERY turn whilst Conrad just stood there, inactive in the friendship let alone the romance.
Yeah I love her bond and chemistry with Jeremiah and I prefer his personality too
Yeah, team Conrad!
She seemed happy all summers before with Conrad) You forgot the story. He acted different only this summer.
um no. belly and jeremiah don’t have any chemistry as more than platonic best friends. Jeremiah was being toxic as hell by sabotaging any moment belly and conrad had together. Conrad rejected belly because he knew he couldn’t be there for her in the way she needed him to be. he was protecting her feelings as best he could. did he say some iffy things? yes but jere did a lot of iffy things. i’m the books and the show. team conrad for life
Reading the books shows conrad is better
everyones talking about conrad this and jeremiah that, but why doesnt everyone tall about how belly casually made out with 3 guys in one season like cmon
Literally
This show made me realise that we all will go for Conrad in our teens just to choose Jere when we discover self love lol
To me, the vampire diaries were the main comparison I made to the summer I turned pretty. And it’s also a coincidence that the actor who plays Jeremiah also played younger Damon so… also my personal opinion but #TeamJeremiah

I then read the first book and it was so much more obvious in the book. Anyway team Conrad all the way, I don't like how he is described by people as mysterious or serious, the guy is just straight up depressed, and the actor did a great job with that.

conrad was a jerk bc he was dealing with his mom’s cancer and couldnt talk to anyone abt it. lets talk about how con loved her before the summer she turned pretty. jeremiah only liked her when she turned pretty and because he was jealous of what con and belly had. con put belly first by distancing himself and telling her jeremiah was the better choice bc he knew that jeremiah was emotionally available at the time
I already know belly is probably gonna end up with Conrad but she just seems so much happier when she is with Jeremiah, and Conrad continues to play with her feelings. It may just be my opinion but Jeremiah is way better for belly. # team jelly

I agree 100% with all of this. I would personally choose Jeremiah because he’s so much fun and he’s sweet.
i never NEVER care about the parents, who wants to see old people live old people lives?? BUT this time i loved every scene with them, the moms were amazing
I’m team Jere. I love how Jeremiah goes out of his way to tell Belly she's beautiful and just how special she is to him. He never leads her on or plays with her feelings like Conrad does. And before conrad stans come at me, yes i HAVE read the books.

THATS WHY WE CAN BE TEAM JERE IN THE SERIES, cuz he's so much evolved in the show
It was so out of character for him and it felt forced so she would end up with Conrad... Ugh...
Realistically none of us would choose either of them irl but this was fun

i am in lovee with this comment
somebody that doesn't explain it like a freaking 11 year old
I think that The Way I Loved You playing when Conrad stands up to dance with Belly at the Deb Ball was a perfect song choice.
@@taylorsherlockperalta1295 Same here, I loveee how they used songs in the show! Jenny Han is a swiftie for sure !!
I’m happy to see more people who are Team Jeremiah even though we all know she’s gonna end up with Conrad and mostly everyone prefers him more

conrad was a jerk bc he was dealing with his mom’s cancer and couldnt talk to anyone abt it. lets talk about how con loved her before the summer she turned pretty. jeremiah only liked her when she turned pretty and because he was jealous of what con and belly had. con put belly first by distancing himself and telling her jeremiah was the better choice bc he knew that jeremiah was emotionally available at the time
@@wynstical okay but..I can bet when jere now knows about Sussanah, he won't cut people out.
Part 2: Jeremiah
I am a sucker for friendship to lovers.
I loved cam and I felt so bad for him but I knew he wasn't part of the love triangle so there was no possible way they could've been end game
She is not in love "with both brothers", she is in love with Conrad, she always has been, and HE always has been in love with her too ( they made this even more obvious in the books ), Jeremiah was always like more of a best friend and they only got together because Belly was tired of waiting for Conrad and kinda used him to try to moove on if we are being honest, even in the books its pretty obvious that Conrad is the only choice but i feel like in the show they are making it even more clear
this !!!
yess ^^
My point exactly
Jesus, Stephanie, what were you thinking with that 😫
True, she has always been in love with Conrad and I feel like Jeremiah also kind of knows that but ignores it.
i already know who belly ends up with from the books and even in the book i kept switching between conrad and jeremiah but now i’m like fully team conrad. jeremiah will always be my favorite character tho
Conrad is the better guy. People don’t see it but they will.
15 year old me would probably go for Conrad, but now? Hell no. Yes he's hot but he's unstable and there can't be two of us. Jeremiah all the way
EXACTLY and Conrad wouldn't treat belly right
when i started the show, i gaslit myself into thinking that jeremiah is just her over protective kinda brother, but not really BUT then i was like Jeremiah?
Really? I thought it was consistent with his character.
@@kkieyana5975no. I know the tv show and books r kinda different but still in the show jere would never cheat on her it’s doesn’t fit him
THANK YOU!!!!
Yes I thought I was the only one who compared the kissing booth to the summer I turned pretty 😅
Part 3: cam and kissing booth
Cam was the best option.
OKAY FINALLY SOMEONE UNDERSTANDS THE CINNECTION TO KISSING BOOTH
Team Conrad (before you hate on me here’s why)
Belly will always appreciate Jere but she wants someone she can scream and fight and kiss in the rain ;)
6. You know and I know and Jenny knows that when Taylor is playing, it means end game :)
I don’t know if anyone could ever read this entire comment, but hopefully I changed your perspective a bit! Also, feel free to debate me (kindly) because maybe you could change my mind (unlikely) too💕
I read it ❤❤
@@katelinchen5686 Aww I wrote this comment so long ago! Your comment made me smile. Are you excited for season 2 :)

@@marie-kd4gi Ahh I literally can’t wait for S2
When I first watched the first few episodes I thought it’s going to be pretty shallow story wise but I love how every character has their own thing going on
The part where Amanda said around 13:15 - 13:32, she really said it all for me. But alsooo, I can't get enough of that Jelly chemistryy thoo! It gives me butterflies every time!
also they confirmed a second season before the first one was even released
I would pick Conrad. Everybody was asking why a sweet Conrad has changed, this only means that he was not always like that being broody. Her Connection with Conrad will always stronger than any other guys in the show.
I’ve never seen your videos before but I’ve watched three now, one about Wednesday, one about Miraculous, and this one. And we have the exact same views about literally everything. Every ship every plot hole everything. I love it
Ugh I read the books a long time ago but it still frustrates me. !!SPOILERS!! … I’ll always be team jer🥲 what he did was totally out of character
there are 2 more seasons! bc there are 3 books in total and each season will be based on each book
team conrad all the way - i think jeremiah just liked the idea of belly, and not belly - they're better off as friends, especially because everyone kept shipping them. conrad was more quiet and seemed to have more chemistry with belly (in my opinion with their rare interactions), since he had so much weight on his back (e.g. his moms cancer) so it makes his quiet character have a meaning behind it. i think team conrad because his birthday present and how he expresses his feelings for belly even in a different way
just my (biased) opinion dont hate me
I %1000 agree!!!
Agreed, Also "The way I loved you" By Taylor. Gives this series energy!
@@amaliegrubert5026 Yess!!! I’ve seen so many edits with this song!!!💗
@@ellaroselynn Same i LOVE those edits 😀💗
Yes i love confad
No because this is lowkey exactly my thoughts
I was contemplating if i Should make a pros snd cons list comparing conrad and jeremiah just for fun like for myself lol
this gives inheritance games and keeper of the lost cities all at once
Let me know your thoughts!
cindy is such a great youtuber as well as dylan is in trouble, pink podcast, aaron and jo, prettymuch LOVE THEM
the that should be me is literally what im saying while watching jere the whole show
I am so happy I'm not the only one who thought her and jeremiah are better.
I literally feel the exact same way. Although, I did read the books before the show, and let me just make one thing clear. Conrad hasn’t always loved Belly. It’s clearly stated in the book. Jeremiah has always felt something towards her. I also freaking love Jeremiah. He’s amazing.
One of my takeaways is also that shayla is gorgeous
I hope that belly does an Elena and chooses the second brother because Elena was head over heals for Stefan and always went back to Stefan but Damon was the one for her
I honestly didn’t know who to ship Belly with…
HONESTLY IF I HADNT READ THE TRILOGY AND WATCHED THE SHOW THEN I WOULD 100% BE #TEAMJEREMIAH BUT SINCE I HAVE READ THE BOOKS I KNOW CONRAD WAS THE BETTER CHOICE.YEAH JERE WAS ALWAYS GOOD TO HER FROM THE BEGINNING BUT HIS CHARACTER WAS TOTALLY RUINED IN THE LAST BOOK ,BOOK READERS WILL KNOW WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT.CONRAD HAD TOO MUCH GOING ON HIS LIFE ,HIS DECISIONS WERE MADE FOR THE BETTERMENT OF THE PEOPLE HE LOVED.
I need Jere to find someone who will choose him.
I love conrad!! No matter what any of anyones excuses are conrad and belly are just suppose to be with each other!!!!
What happened at the beginning of the third book with jerimiah
@@tanvikaur821 he cheated on belly after they'd been dating for 2 years :/
totally agree with u! i was so mad when jeremiah just ruined belly and conrad's relationship by kissing her and making out with her... and when belly accepted his proposal like girl noooo. i love him but i will never forgive him for what he did in the third book. they did do him dirty tho but i think it's for the best like u said because conrad is the obvious choice for belly.
THIS.
And she could always be herself around jeremiah while she was trying to hard to impress conrad
I haven’t watched the series but I did read the book and it’s Jeremiah-all the way
Anyone who says Team Jeremiah hasn’t read the books LMAO. Team Conrad !!!
Part 1: Conrad
While Conrad is more nuanced on the show than in the books, I felt he was filled with red flags.
OKAY BUT HE HAD TO DANCE WITH HER OR SHE WOUDLVE BEEN EMBARRASSED ITS NOT SOMETHING THEY COUDLVE WAITED FOR
@@preppygracie_xo I GET THAT!
@@preppygracie_xo and sorry it was so long. Feel free to skim if you need to.
Im team Jeremiah
I just gotta say THAT DEBUTANT SCENE WITH FUCKING THE WAY I LOVED YOU HAD ME ON THE FLOOR THEY ATE SO HARD WITH THAT FE
I'm not a big fan of the main character's nickname. My aunt has a dog named Belle, and we call her Belly sometimes, so everytime they say her name, it just reminds me of my aunt's dog.
This is exactly what I thought when I finished it. Like..word by word my thoughts
I wasn’t going to watch this show, but I think I’m going to watch it now. You’ve convinced me
girl you gonna get there, I'm waiting to see you on Broadway
Based on the books, none of them bc Jeremiah cheated on her and Conrad was just being a jerk. Based on the show team Jelly!!
everyone talking about Jeremiah being much better for her than Conrad, and although that may be true for THAT summer, remember that Conrad isn't always this moody and stuff and he was dealing with so much.
Thank You! Finally someone gets it.
@@y2k_menace_193 Good point haha. Honestly every time I rewatch episodes and hear other peoples opinions, I change my perspective on things😅
@@kira3401 i feel you tho. but i haven’t watched the tv series, so i was talking about the book series and idk how accurate the tv series is compared to the books
Amanda girl! I LOVE YOUR MIRACULOUS LADYBUG REACTIONS! AND EPISODE 1 AND TWO ARR OUT, PLEASE REACT TO IT ! I AM BEGGING YOU!
The love square is finally flipping yayyyyy
You explained my thoughts exactly and team jere
YASSSSSS THE TWILIGHT REFERENCE
Everyone’s saying “iF YoUr TeAm JeLlY YoU HaVaNt ReAd ThE bOoKs” and no I haven’t bec I’m not a big book person but my bestie has and she is STILL team jere because what he did in the book was sooo out of character like he just wouldn’t and the author was probably just trying to find a reason for belly to go back to Conrad. also a lot of people are talking about the “firework almost kiss” but if they *did* kiss they would have BOTH been cheating (with cam and i forget her name but Conrad’s girlfriend)
Hands down Team Jere 💕
Belly 👏🏻 doesn't 👏🏻 deserve 👏🏻 Jeremiah 👏🏻
She deserves someone like Conrad, who treats her like shit, cuz she treated both Cam and Jeremiah like shit now!
You explained my all feelings abt this show
I'm team Conrad ( cause i basically want jere for myself ). Infact when jere finds out he basically leaves belly alone at the whole ball dance thing so can you really blame either of them.
i gasped when you said you watched withcindy, i love her channel. praying for a collab in the distant future 😔🙏
Left at less than 2 minutes. The ending was amazing and season 2 is already approved.
I cried when i read the first book if u liked tatbielb you'd like this one cause its by the same author
8:45 Belly can have her childhood dream that stopped making sense and you can have Jeremiah, you sure would treat him better lol I want Jer with a really nice person, happy and not just content being someone's second choice.
Finally i don't feel like the weird one for not being on board with the final kiss in season 1
Jeremiah is Peeta coded. Conrad is Katniss coded. Belly is Gale. Gale and Katniss only work when Gale is the chick.
lol
So good!
*Jenny Han btw lol
3:52 You're spot on! and the only other person in the fandom who seems to get thiss!!
5:08 same! A lot of people hate though, think its corny actually XD
I'm definitely team Conrad....becoz Jeremiah he's a perfect guy and so opened like there's no secrets in him and it'll be so boring if there is anything to discover in a relationship.. but Conrad being a mysterious guy it'll be fun to be with him if he opens his heart to u...as u said heart wants what it wants
Loved your Review Having Same Mixed feelings while watching the Serie
literally love u and ur videos also team jeremiahhhh
ok I don’t see jules leblanc, but she REALLY reminds me of this other actor, Isabel May (what a coincidence, isabella and isabel lol). they look like twins and talk the same
I’m team Jeremiah. But then again that’s what she always does so I wasn’t surprised…
the books are so much betterrrr
I read them in middle school and they took me on such an emotional roller coaster
The finale of the trilogy was the first book I ever cried to😭😭
I think I'm on the wrong topic, BUT s5 MLB is very spicy so far
Let's be honest
The boys in the show were giving sweet home Alabama
I agree with a lot of what you’re saying but I’d like to make a point about how I think neither of the boys liked her until “she turned pretty.”
1. Jeremiah
He did say that he always liked Belly but when looking at the flashbacks alone (not books because I’m not familiar with them) Jere never includes her. It looks like his best friend is clearly Steven and not Belly at all. When he shot the firework, it seemed completely random for me as a viewer. In my opinion it seems like a lot of Jere’s feelings for Belly stem from jealousy of his brother
2. Conrad
Conrad is two years older than Belly.
@@kira3401
Yeah I don’t think he liked her when they were young because like you said that’s kinda weird and I was also confused when belly always said Jeremiah was her best friend because I thought Jere and Steven were closer.
