The change happened in 2006 I believe. It is for the envoy anyway. 2002-05 had aluminum and 06+ had steel. I could be off a year but it’s basically early gmt360/370 got aluminum. My 2003 slt came stock with aluminum. My o6 Denali has steel
Gmt360 yup. The Bravada calipers are aluminum but since they are older they brake line port is in a little different place. I’ve heard feedback that the Envoy Denali calipers are also aluminum with the same location brake line port as the TBSS.
This is great info, I am looking to do the opposite lol. I have a SWB GMC Envoy that I tow with that has the aluminum calipers and the smaller diameter rotor. Id like to put the larger diameter rotors on. Are the caliper brackets the same between the short and long wheel base or are the calipers and brackets different? Id like to just buy the brackets, pads, and rotors because my calipers are in good shape.
The brackets are different for the increased diameter. Just get a set from the junk yard off a long Trailblazer or a new set off rock auto and you’ll be good to go 🤘
You’ll need the brackets if you’re going to run the shorter rotor. If running the factory TBSS diameter rotor use the factory TBSS brackets. The brackets are steel but only weigh 4-5 pounds each depending on which ones they are
I'm currently mocking up this setup. Neither the tbss nor the Bravada bracket are moving the caliper down. They appear the same. I'll try the second caliper bracket to be sure. I have Bravada calipers, rotors and pads. No beano so far. Stay tuned.
I have been looking for an excuse to ditch my red stock calipers and i think this is it lol Thank you for sharing the info!
Of course!

Appreciate that info thank you! This has really been the only blazer platform I’ve messed with. Definitely a huge weight difference
Would be intrested in a writeup of all the weight savings you have found
I can make that happen!
Hey this bravada caliper is it from the 6 lug late model gmt350 right? There is an s10 bravada also - that might be same caliper
?or not? ?

Links for the items ?

@@CoastalRacecraft rock on, thanks man. Ill def snag a set here soon.
For rotor size for 5 lug are the 5th gen v6 comaro rotors the stock size not the smaller diameter correct?
Correct they are stock TBSS diameter. You can still run the aluminum calipers on those.
If you run the s10 bearing you’ll need to machine a ring to keep the rotor centric off the hub bore.
@@CoastalRacecraft hell yeah thank you I’m planning to do 5 lug on my Ssr soon👍
This caliper are safety for street or those for off road 🤔
Good for both. 🤘
Yes did swap 07 back to 04 style from i6 . Wanted to use 16" rim . Was a pita but did not know about aluminum calipers..... Thats next
Anyway you can give the part no.
Search 2004 Olds Bravada on rock auto and there are a ton of choices depending on if you wanted the brackets too or just calipers.
Okay sweet I found it all thanks man watching your videos has helped me out with a lot of things keep doing what your doing
How’s the stopping with this front set up ?
Excellent! I can’t tell any difference from the factory brakes.
Is the caliper brackets off the bravada as well?
Yup pretty much the whole trailblazer, envoy, bravado etc family uses the same brackets as long as they are matched to the right rotor diameter.
Somebody could go to a junkyard and take them off a 6cyl short trailblazer if they wanted, but the brackets are pretty cheap new.
Awesome setup!! If possible can you tell me the size and offset of the rear wheels? Ty
did you get the 04 Bravada calipers? Do the brackets that come with the Bravada calipers fit too? I am assuming the bracket is also aluminum.

And yup 04 Bravada

How much weight did you lose up front?
It’s been a little bit. The rotors alone were 10 pounds and the caliper brackets and aluminum calipers were about 28 pounds If I remember right
@@CoastalRacecraft solid amount for not much effort!
