Thanks so much for sharing your journey this year. I was crushed for you in February and so pleased for your success recently. You have a fantastic attitude. I will look forward to more videos from you and GG
I was crushed in February. That was a bad time. I can't believe I was able to get back out this year. I was going for the long haul but I guess 300 is my yearly maximum miles
Congrats on the accomplishment Grumpy! Love the positive attitude and is great lesson for all of us that didn’t quite make it but can proudly call ourselves AT hikers!
Damn Grump sorry about your knees but I love your positive attitude. You are a true inspiration to thru and section hikers. I pray for quick healing and look forward to meeting you on the trail one of these days. Now the hard part, "stay in shape", oops they are dirty words. LOL Take Care and God Bless
Thanks I do feel good this time. I do wish I had the money to hang around Stanimals a few days because I feel pretty decent. But GG keeps reminding me that it’s because I’m barely moving ha ha. We will see how it plays out and look forward to meeting you too
Grumpy, you're a good man and I've really liked you taking me and all of us on your journey's! Our journey's don't have to be set or determined by other's but what we set for ourselves. Wish you the best of everything man!
Your love for the trail Is so AWESOME and evident..hope your winter is alright buddy...2019 will be here soon enuf...i wish I was out there with yall...great video and trip report...fall is the best..thanks for the images and vids.
No doubt..the whole community is here for ya..keep making the vids..there good for the soul and mind..hope you enjoy your next endeavors...happy hiking bud
Was great you gave it another shot at it. Don't comment too much but wanted to let you know. I started with 17 hikers this year to follow. You were one of them. Only 5 finished. When you got off the first time, decided to stick with your channel to see you try again. Glad I did. Enjoyed the way you talked about the trail and how you were doing. No BS. It is what it is. You seemed to be honest to yourself. Sorry about your thru hike. Maybe I'll see you out on the trail if I get up that far on section hikig. Thanks Grumpy.
I am glad you stuck around with me. Sorry I let you down twice. I am feeling good on the hiking front and how much more can I ask for than followers like you all, more hiking videos and of course GG picking on me while we hike together
Congratulations on your hike, Grumpy. You did great! Sorry you had to get off the trail. I have loved watching your videos, and look forward to watching when you and GG hit the trail for some section hikes. Take care of that knee and see you up the trail!
Grumpy... I had to get off the trail last year in PA only doing 38 miles of my 67 mile section. I plan on being on the trail next year for a couple sections. Maybe I'll see you out there! I've done all of Georgia, a good section of NC/TN and Virginia as well. Keep at it. In twenty years I'll be 89. Go for it.
We honestly were already trying to figure out our first section to do together next year that we can do trail magic also. I would like to meet channel followers also so it all plays a part in our plans next year
Thank you for supporting me and appreciating my efforts. I am definitely not done yet but this year is a wrap. Hope you stick around for what’s to come.
No worries Grumpy! You’re in good company as a section hiker! I’m picking up my next section this Friday as I finally get into Damascus. As a section hiker you have the thrill and anticipation before every trip. It’s all good bud smart to get off.
Grumpy I think you have an amazing attitude about this and it helps me to know that being a section hiker is really an ok thing to be. I don't think I will ever be able to do a thru-hike because of my health as well. 300+ miles is an awesome accomplishment for this year. Would love to meet up when you come back down to GA to section hike that part.
Grumpy, you are the man....I don't believe the average person has any idea how difficult hiking the AT can be....My wife and I are in our early 50s...its tough...we did 20 miles last summer from Wayah to NOC....big respect for all hikers...367 miles is a lot of steps...look forward to any adventures you will share with us.....Thanks Grump and GG....hike on
Thank you, yes it’s a lot different hiking in your mid 50’s and hiking when you’re young. I would have damn near run up that trail back in the day. I’m glad I’m not too proud to know when not to keep going. Any hiking is good hiking now! Thanks for supporting us!
Grumpy, congratulations on 300 miles this time out. So awesome especially since you weren't sure if you were even going to be able to hike again. Hoping and praying with you that the knees will be fine and you and GG can get in some good miles in the spring. Hope to see you out there.
You have done a great job. You’ve hiked a hell of a lot longer than I have! I’m sorry you couldn’t complete a thru. Will look forward to all your videos!! Happy hiking!!
Section hikes are good. A person can go slower and enjoy it even more. I can only imagine doing a 360 mile section. I hope to do those kinds of miles someday. I think you did pretty awesome. I am enjoying your filming style and am looking forward to your future section hikes. You have looked so much happier and you seemed to enjoy this section so much more than GA and that is so much more important. Hike On!
Great attitude and nothing to be upset about. Section hiking is definitely something I’m aiming for I figure if I just keep knocking off the miles I’ll eventually get somewhere lol. Rest those knees
Just wanted to add to all of these great comments. First off, thanks so much for sharing your journey with us. You are an inspiration and I really admire your attitude. Secondly, you and GG are a credit to the trail community and are now woven into the patchwork fabric of the AT. Lastly, I'm proud of what you've been able to accomplish by adapting. You're doing it "your" way and what works best for you. Being out, enjoying, is what it's really all about! Best wishes in all future endevours! My hat's off to you!
You always say nice things, humbling and uplifting. I have appreciated it so much and look forward to providing videos when I can to folks that appreciate them.
I just want to say, that as a fit 62 year old guy, (on no medication) that unexpectedly devolved blood clots in my right leg and lung... till now at 65, with a total hip replacement in June, and having the other replacement in late October. You guys rocked!! Hell, you two did better than that movie with Robert Redford and Nick Nolte, you went farther than them, but hell they’re 80 years old. Anyway, miss the videos, I hope one day to meet you Grumpy. I’ll even buy you a beer. I wish you the best.
Lol. I’ve been told that before that I fit in that movie. Being in shape is helpful but just like you are living proof that sometimes it just happens, it’s just something that is out of your control and you have to just go with it. I will be back, stronger and hopefully with GG. Thanks for watching and don’t forget about me because I will be always up to something!
I've enjoyed the journey, and I'm glad that you aren't disappointed or devastated. As Jeff Hall said, you've done more than most, and you've got plenty of sections left in you!
Hate to see it end this year! But you were out there doing it and that in itself is awesome. I am so envious of the people that get to attempt a thru hike. One day I may get my chance, but I will probably be in my upper 50’s by then. Take care of yourself and keep us posted. You and GG have a great rest of the year!
Thank you very much. I really felt privileged to be able to get out and try twice in one year. I am glad you followed along. Once GG and i start doing section hikes then are videos will be better for watching. She pick and makes fun of me alot
You kicked butt this season! Grumpy, none of your subscribers care if you section hike or thru hike the A.T. We watch your videos as soon as we get notified for a reason...you are so fun, entertaining and REAL to watch. Of course, we all have the love of the A.T. in common, but you have a real knack to this RUclips Vlogging thing. I will be doing some trail magic (food/drinks/shuttle) early next spring. (Would be just awesome if I could be there for you) Just want to "pay it forward" like you and Gucci Girl did in 2017, in preparation for my 2020 attempt. Thanks brother, and I say brother because we have so much in common. The love of the trail, Navy Veterans, our age, opinions on a lot of things. Take care, heal up and we will see you out there.
Thank you that’s good karma there and something that I hold near and dear to me, our name and reputation. I appreciate man, I really do. Yes we have some good common bonds and I told GG than I think we have the best followers out there because they don’t just follow, they love it. We will keep everyone posted and hope to see you in the spring for sure!
Sorry to hear about your injury. I really enjoy watching your videos. Keep posting videos of your future endeavors on the trail. The highlight of my section hike in Aug. was meeting you and KrizAkoni on the trail in Pennsylvania.
Nothing wrong with being a section hiker! It took me 12 summers to complete the entire trail. Everyone one who completes the trail gets the same certificate from the ATC. You are recognized for completing the entire Appalachian Trail. Hike on and Happy Trails!!
Gucci Girl and Grumpy that is a bummer grumpy. I am so sorry to hear that. Let's stay in touch even though I have not had the pleasure of meeting you and GG.
@@davidson_oldbull_sectionhiker Hopefully we will be out doing trail magic and doing some hiker interviews. So we are not going anywhere just not as active right now
Thank you. My knee is really feeling good. I just wished I had the funds to hang out and wait, but its all good. GG and i are working on when and where to start our next section. She has some catching up to do. Lol
Sorry to see you have to leave the trail but I totally understand the knee thing. Be Proud for what you have accomplished. The experience is what it's all about. I've enjoyed the videos and look forward to 2019 videos.
Hi Grumpy, sorry to hear of the recent pain/injury. Take care, and we hope to see you in Maine next year. We'll keep a Moxie on ice for you. LOL Gary F. Stover
Thanks Stover, I am still holding you guys to that Moxie. Make it 2 because I’m bringing the misses!! You’re a great guy Stover and I appreciate your eternal support.
Hey bro. I didn't really know what to say the first time I watched this but now, I do. You and GG made a huge impact on me this past year. Your kindness and generosity were something that truly allowed me to understand what a trail angle really is. I'll never be able to thank you guys enough for that. I'll be starting out next year early April around Boiling Springs. If there's a section up that way you'd like to cover, give me a shout. It would be an honor for me and I can't think of anyone I'd rather hike with than you. Please consider this! :D Any way man, y'all take good care and I hope to hear from you soon.
I can't believe this. My YT app has not been pushing any notifications. I just been answering a whole bunch of people I didn't even know had posted. It would be great to hike with you. Unfortunately my knee will need surgery, but surgery won't be able to stop me from providing Trail Magic
Its been a great year for hiking, snow, rain, cold, injuries, homesickness, big miles, great people. What's not to like about hiking and giving yourself a challenge. It's not about finishing, it's about starting. Too many people fail to take the first step and will never know what they are capable of. I'm glad you started the journey and it was a pleasure to follow you. Goooo Pittsburgh.
Thanks Craig, yes, keeping trying is just as important as going at it in the first place. I feel good that I will never give up, whether it’s section or thru! Your support has been welcomed and I’m grateful for!!!
I salute your fortitude and cheer your achievement G. Come on out to Banff. We’ll have a beer, explore some trails, throw some steaks on the grill and chill.
I love this! GG will get to hike with you ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ I'm super sad to hear about the knee but happy you'll get to go to Texas and kiss on that grandbaby!!
Thanks for watching. A Pittsburgher in Iceland! Good to know, we were planning to fly to Iceland just to check it out. Flights are cheap. Perhaps we will put that on the list!
If you do come this way, please let me know I would love to meet you all and If you staying in KEF I would love to pick you up (if I´m not working) and drive you to your hotel so I can provide a little KEF (trail) Magic. you all take care please don´t stop the videos.
Gucci Girl and Grumpy I will be doing daily Instagrams, I am already active there. My husband wants to vlog, I will leave that up to him, too much work for me. I want to enjoy the trip!
Sometimes we have to listen to our body and live to hike another day. Sounds like you made a good sound decision. Good hike! Congrats and hope to cross paths with you on my next Lash.
The trail has been hard on people this year. You've done awesome and will continue to hike this thing at your own pace. You may find you try a through at a later date... you're not just a section hiker, you're a LASHer! Heal fast and get back out there. I'm sure our paths will cross again. Keep doing the vids! 🤓
Good attitude Grumpie, I'll keep following your channel 'cause I know you'll keep working on it. Get healed up and enjoy. BTW stay off the chew! I'll raise a brew in your honor tonight. Cheers and best 73. DE KD8TE
Your a class act Grumpy. I know this is going to sound a little selfish, but I hope you are still section hiking in 2020 when I begin the trail I would be honored to meet you and hike with you. Good luck with all your upcoming section hikes and I’ll be watching if you’re posting.
Gucci Girl and Grumpy on the 29th! I saw some SOBOs coming in around 6p. I had a tent site straight up from the rangers check in area. We were like two ships passing in the night lol.
Congrats on your 300+ miles. Glad you are seeing the positive side of things..... I’m also content with being a section hiker.....although I do look and smell like a thru hiker after a few days 😂. Enjoy your channel and hope to see y’all on the trail some day!
Lol. I get that smell after a few hours ha ha. I’m very content right now. I think next year will be a good year to pound out some serious sections (once GG catches up)😂
It's all good Grumpy. Just keep enjoying the time you can get out there. Although accomplishing a Thru would be cool, it hasn't been important to me for quite some time. I started doing sections in 2011 and in 2017, my wife and I went down to GA and started north, but even though a Thru was a possibility then, I never worried about it. Well, my wife missed the kids and dog too much and got off after 350 miles and I lasted another 100 before I needed a break myself. My Quest evolved. We did go back and hike Shenandoah later that July and I returned alone in Aug and did another 334 miles from PA to MA, but I had decided to save the rest for 2018. I attributed my not unlocking the Thru Hiker Achievement Badge to lack of mental fortitude. And I was OK with that. I get bored out there, but still enjoy being out there. It's weird. In 2018 I headed back to Damascus to finish VA and after that, had planned to head up to do the last three states up north to complete my first traverse, but one week in, I fell and tore my rotator cuff. Well, I continued to hike the rest of VA for three more weeks with that injury, but knew I would need some surgery before trying to tackle NH and southern ME, so I was good with being done for 2018. I'm 7 weeks post-op now and healing good. My plan now is to finish in 2019. Personally, I consider everyone out there a Section Hiker. To me, a Thru is just one section after another. If you are lucky enough and mentally and physically strong enough, you can string them all together and complete the trail within a one year period, unlocking the Thru Hiker Achievement Badge. And that's great, but being a multi year Section hiker has its own challenges and is no less an accomplishment. I hope to meet you one day, either out on the trail or in Pgh some time. Peace, EarthTone Hiker
That’s some story! I’m sure you, just like myself, will eventually get the whole job done. I can’t believe you continued hiking with a torn rotator cuff! Lol, that’s commitment. I hope to meet you as well, you are definitely dedicated and it would be a pleasure to hike with you. GG and I started this channel together hiking and doing trail magic, so I think it’s good to get back to that. We are a team and should do this with each other. After she catches up of course. I hope you reach your goal and perhaps we can meet up sometime. Are you in PA?
My wife, LoGear, is the only person I have found that hikes at my pace. Everyone else is either too fast or too slow. She will always be my favorite hiking partner. I grew up in Bellevue/Northside. Still have family in Pgh and come home from time to time. Unfortunately I currently live in Ravens territory. It's where I ended my Coast Guard career. PA will always be home for me though. We will be coming in for the Nov 8th Steelers game.
Good call by GG and you, your not on the trail but your healthy and in good spirits. Plus no longer addicted to that miserable chew. See you at the Mills sometime.......walk on.
@@GucciGirlandGrumpy Yes, you'll be the one walking faster than me. I'm up here in Vandergrift, Lowe's is where I do my lumber shopping, then into the mall area to walk then booo Verizon as I pass by.
You are right, maybe a thru hike it was just not in the cards. That said, it is always a nice touch to post an exit video when you have to get off the trail. Keep the videos coming, and maybe we will get to see Stumbles again.
Thank you. I agree with you about an post exit video. So many that i have followed got off the trail and never said anything, but that is not how i roll, good or bad i put it out for everyone to see. We are not gone just reconfiguring our hiking. Thank you for your contributions support
Grumpy thank you you a AMAZING DUDE , yes my dream is to be out hopeful 2020 section hiking wanting to thur hike , but realities sets in am going to be 59 . My point is you doing it that's AWESOME AT HIKER . Thanks again for sharing and taking us along bud
Maybe while we do our sections we will see you doing yours! You have to start wherever you can and do whatever it takes. Thanks for the kind words and eternal support!
It will take us a few years and I already can see I will see more of the trail instead of worrying about my miles. That wasn't the plan going into this hike but it sure did find it's way, mile watching
I have been in your shoes, twice I have gotten off for Kidney stones while sectioning.... have done 907.5 to date, but in March 2020 I will start over to see if I can get that title of Thru Hiker.... I want to try. You keep your head up!.... and finish!.... You Got This!
You did great Grumpy and it’s been sure a pleasure to follow along! Welcome to the section hiker club!! Glad to have you aboard 😉 next time you guys are in PA let me know, I still need to hike from Duncannon NOBO and sure would love some hiking partners!
You have done a wicked awesome job. You are definitely anAT Hiker. Both our hikes could be mirrors of each other in the sense that we both experienced various issues and we both made 2 attempts at getting back on. I really connect with the emotions that come with that rollercoaster. You're a good dude, grumpy. My next plan, (so you know if you go back to the trail) is over my April break from school, Apr. 13 to the 21 I am going to hike the AT in NY Southbound starting in Wingdale. In mid June I am going back to Newfound Gap in the Smokies and hike all summer. I may do some winter hiking, however that is really going to be weather dependent. I really enjoy the videos and following your journey. Perhaps our trak will cross. 👻🙋♂️🕊🍺🍺
Grumpy I think you and me would be amigos. I am 58 years old and still hiking but I found my limitations this year hiking Virgin Falls wilderness in Tennessee. It's not that I can't do it but I was with a younger friend and he was much faster and in better shape. I pushed myself to stay with him and I think I was about 5 minuets away from collapsing when we finished. We just have to find our own stride at our age. I still plan on section hiking the AT next year but at my pace. What's the song say I'm not as good as I once was but I'm as good once as I always was. We anin't done bro. 73's
I felt great and just one step stopped my hike. I am feeling much better but will need more time to heal. In my mind i feel in my late teens but my body keeps reminding me i am 55 and getting older. Lol
Great hike!! Enjoyed watching your journey. I would like to do a thru hike trying to get into shap now, but will definitely do a section hike hope to meet y’all someday. God Bless.
Well we will announce when we will be doing some. I think she’s planning to drag me to Texas for a while while I recoup and then hit the trails early next year
Tim try your best to be in the best shape you can be in because it lessens the mental strain when you dont have to focus so much energy on the physical part.
Hate to hear that you are back at home but glad that you are okay ! Well I guess one day we might meet up on the trail and finally meet each other. I hope that I haven't jinks you , first was the hurricane , then last week I had some business that needed to taken care of and couldn't get away and was finally planning on coming out on the trail with you this weekend and provide some trail magic. Hopefully we call all get together and provide some trail magic and hike some sections next year.
Sorry 😐 to hear this but glad u will be continuing to section Hike ... I can relate I am 62 with achy knees but workout to try to save them for hiking ....it sucks as we age hope to complete my Susquehanna trail hike in PA next spring second week of May ... maybe I will see u .. I think about the AT too but then reality hits not sure I am ready or will ever need replacements or how it would affect hiking the AT... but glad u and Gccii will keep at it... sad for u and happy at the same time went thru it last year when I was not making the miles and took a fall ... but I will be back at it the trip is cued up....Go Grumby....
That’s right, never give up, keep going in one way or another and we will too. Aging isn’t for the weak at heart that’s for sure. Keep me posted if you hike that trail and if we are around we would love to join you! Thanks as always for being supportive
Gucci Girl and Grumpy cool I will .. I park my car in cross fork pa at the firehouse and Shuttle up to Patterson park where I stopped last .. doing a food box via mail ... three days worth ? At Ole Bull state park I checked it out last July check out u tube for videos on it from p burgh it is north of lock haven...I take 80 across from the pa 476 to 80 and up
Chin up, brother. I know GG is definitely looking forward to some trail time with you. I have thoroughly enjoyed your videos and look forward to more in the future. I have knee problems as well. Section hiking may be my only option, but it’s not going to keep me out of the woods. Time to spend some time with your girl. After all, when you can’t stand on both feet, she has been the one to lift you up👍
You made GG cry on that one. You’re right though, we are better as a team than alone and pretty soon hiking together again will be possible. Thanks for being there, literally!!
@@GucciGirlandGrumpy if you ever want to get in touch through email and do a few miles on the AT let me know! (I quit fb and Instagram) I still have to hike from PA 183 to DWG to wrap up the state of PA. I'll probably do that in 2 sections next year. yer bud, White Castle
just going back out after 1st setback and doing 300mi is amazing enough, but hey i got to see the infamous grumpy hike past my campsite, on a lighter side feel blessed cause if you'd been a horse well....you know...:) ... you did good ...
I do wish you would have called us over to meet you or perhaps it’s my poor hearing. Maybe one day we will meet up. Like I said I’m not as upset as I thought I would be. I will be out there in the spring. Perhaps early next year too. We will see. If I were a horse I would have gone down long ago for sure! Thanks for all of your support!
you two had good momentum, i know how tough it can be to lose that , i didnt wanna interrupt that,,,,,i had my pack my alcohol stove with me and i so wished i coulda stumbled along with you guys...but my daughter aka the princess camper .was with me ..lol so i was landlocked ....but i;m seriously contemplating a halfway hike ,harpers ferry to ga. , i wouldnt be a thru hiker id be a blu hiker (blue ridge mntns) get it...it would be nice to meet up one day.
Oh my god I laughed hard on that one, princess camper!! Good one. Next time you see me throw a rock at me to stop me although I will most likely just be lumbering along. Would love to meet up!
Oh well,,You gave it a shot, it’s not meant to be,, get out there with GG and make some more videos ... Thanks for all the time you spent on videos so we could enjoy your journey 👍🏻
Grumpy so sorry bro gonna miss these spots every day. Would love to get out and hike a section with you and GG sometime. Maybe we can hook up next season at some point.
Thanks Stan. We definitely will be out hiking this coming year together. Going to have to do sections together until a time comes when we can hike it thru or maybe not. Either way we will get in touch when we head your way. Thanks for always putting out your hand for us.
Oh man. I really thought this was it. At least you left with a positive attitude. I know it left a bad taste in your mouth the last time but good on you for knowing your body. Hopefully I see you on a section next year.
You will definitely see me and will have to deal with me for at least a day of hiking next year. Maybe GG can start Springer with you, she has that 63 miles to make up
Aww, I’m gonna miss the videos! But in my opinion if you hike from Georgia to Maine, you hiked thru! Just my opinion 😃 Hope the knee heals up quickly and I’ll be here when you two get back out there!!
You gained muscle! (Weighs more than fat.) Congrats on the miles you covered, and your acceptance of things not realized for now. Looking forward to your next section, with Gucci Girl!
I can’t stand you you’re so ridiculous! And I’m probably heading to Texas with GG to see the baby for a month or so. Looks like you can’t rid of me that easily!!
Great! I haven't been to the Alamo in many years. Maybe we can meet there. Then when you go back north, we will always be able to say, "Remember the Alamo."
Heck yeah, we got out there and gave it our all. I wished I was a thru hiker, but i am proud to be a section hiker now
You and GG are good people. Thank you for sharing your journey. Hope to run into on the trail sometime.
Sorry about this but my YT app has not been pushing any notifications. Hopefully we meet someday
Thank you

Thanks for always watching and you never know, you may be out there someday as well! Glad you always tag along with me regardless of how.

Sorry about your injury Grumpy. Glad you are Ok. Happy to see you enjoy hiking the trail. Thanks for sharing your journey with us.
Thank you for following along. Yes it was cut short this year yet again, but by no means are we done 👍
Thanks Lyn. Your support is appreciated. Yes we will definitely be putting out videos and hope we can still captivate everyone!!
I would like to meet channel followers also so it all plays a part in our plans next year
Thanks for the ride champ great work clicking over all those miles great vids and inspiration to others you are
Thank you for supporting me and appreciating my efforts.
We are looking forward and doing a lot of planning already. I wanted a thru hike and now I am want a section (2000 miler)
Thanks for your support and yep 👍🏻 section hiking feels ok to me right now. Well not RIGHT NOW lol but next season. I hope to see you out there
Grumpy, you are the man....I don't believe the average person has any idea how difficult hiking the AT can be....My wife and I are in our early 50s...its tough...we did 20 miles last summer from Wayah to NOC....big respect for all hikers...367 miles is a lot of steps...look forward to any adventures you will share with us.....Thanks Grump and GG....hike on
Thank you, yes it’s a lot different hiking in your mid 50’s and hiking when you’re young.
Thanks Arnie. Hope to see you out hiking too! Next season will be good with just the addition of GG and hopefully a better knee!
Sorry to hear Grumpy that your knee is acting up. You did awesome! I always love following you along! Maybe sometime I can join you on section hike!
Thanks for the support and sure! Once we get everything figured out for when I’m healed up, we will let everyone know!
You have done a great job. You’ve hiked a hell of a lot longer than I have! I’m sorry you couldn’t complete a thru. Will look forward to all your videos!! Happy hiking!!
Thank you
Section hikes are good. Hike On!
Thank you so much. I very happy with what i could do. Would have liked to get 2000 plus miles but this is all good
Great attitude and nothing to be upset about. Section hiking is definitely something I’m aiming for I figure if I just keep knocking off the miles I’ll eventually get somewhere lol. Rest those knees
Section hiking is what i am doing. Even know my knee feels fine now, i didn't know how bad it was or wasn't when i made the call. Its all good
Grumpy, well done! You can tell by the comments that you have a lot of support. I am looking forward to your next video.
Thank you. It will be a half hiking and half ham radio SOTA video
300 miles is awesome! And Section Hiking is something you will really enjoy! I'll look forward to those videos! HYOH!
Thank you. It will be happening sooner than later
Its funny how things happen. When I had to leave Georgia it was devastating. This time around I feel great and know that I am now a section hiker
Loved following along, hate to see it end! You were doing so well. Good luck!
Thanks for always supporting me and we will be back soon enough together and stronger!
Thanks Grumpy! Hi to G.G.
Sorry to hear about your injury. I really enjoy
watching your videos. Keep posting videos of your future endeavors on the trail. The highlight of my section hike in Aug. was meeting you and KrizAkoni on the trail in Pennsylvania.
Thank you, hopefully we run into each other again on the trail
Nothing wrong with being a section hiker! It took me 12 summers to complete the entire trail. Everyone one who completes the trail gets the same certificate from the ATC. You are recognized for completing the entire Appalachian Trail. Hike on and Happy Trails!!
Nothing at all. It is what it is and we are already making our plans for Gucci girl to start making up some miles
Hi GG and Grumpy I just wanted to wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas. God Bless
I am so sorry. My app was not pushing any notifications. Thank you, we all had a great Christmas and I hope the same for you
Great hearing from you how are your feeling Grumpy? Take Care@@GucciGirlandGrumpy
@@davidson_oldbull_sectionhiker I feel like I need to be out hiking, but I can't even walk up the basement steps without my left knee giving me a fit
So we are not going anywhere just not as active right now
You accomplished a lot more that a lot of hikers. Well done. Keep hiking and I will keep following .
Thank you. My knee is really feeling good. I just wished I had the funds to hang out and wait, but its all good. GG and i are working on when and where to start our next section. She has some catching up to do. Lol
Thank you, Grumpy. I have enjoyed following your hikes and trail magic. I look forward to see your videos in the future.
Thanks for your support Dan. We will update when we can but there won’t be much to update for a while.
Understood. Get that knee better!
Sorry to see you have to leave the trail but I totally understand the knee thing. Be Proud for what you have accomplished. The experience is what it's all about. I've enjoyed the videos and look forward to 2019 videos.
Thank you. We are already planning what and how we are going to start hacking away at that 2190.9 miles
Hi Grumpy, sorry to hear of the recent pain/injury. Take care, and we hope to see you in Maine next year.
We'll keep a Moxie on ice for you. LOL
Gary F.
Where are you? Thanks for the encouragement and I would love to meet up. Going to rehab myself and hope to get out next year!
Calgary, Alberta Canada my friend. About 2 hrs north of Glacier National Park, and the northern terminus of the CDT.
I love this! GG will get to hike with you ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I'm super sad to hear about the knee but happy you'll get to go to Texas and kiss on that grandbaby!!
If we just had the money for me to hang out it would have been all good. My knee only needed a little rest. Everything happens for a reason
@@GucciGirlandGrumpy Dang it, Grumpy. I totally understand 😢
Its all good
Good to Go Grumpy. Gonna miss the videos man. Ken from Iceland originally from Pittsburgh.
Great attitude!!! Maybe we will see you on our attempted thru next year!!
Are you going to be vlogging or daily post on Instagram or something? You just never know where we will show uup with trail magic
Keep me informed on your whereabouts on the trail. You just never know when I might show up
I would enjoy that. Take care of the knees and if you ever get down to the Ouachita Trail give me a holler. All the best.
The trail has been hard on people this year. You've done awesome and will continue to hike this thing at your own pace. You may find you try a through at a later date... you're not just a section hiker, you're a LASHer! Heal fast and get back out there. I'm sure our paths will cross again. Keep doing the vids! 🤓
Thanks John. It was great hiking with you this year and definitely hope to again. I will accept whatever title I get!
Good attitude Grumpie, I'll keep following your channel 'cause I know you'll keep working on it. Get healed up and enjoy. BTW stay off the chew! I'll raise a brew in your honor tonight. Cheers and best 73. DE KD8TE
Lol, hard not to chew at home but I’m still off of it! Thanks for your support and yes you will be seeing us still!
Your a class act Grumpy. I know this is going to sound a little selfish, but I hope you are still section hiking in 2020 when I begin the trail I would be honored to meet you and hike with you. Good luck with all your upcoming section hikes and I’ll be watching if you’re posting.
Its going to take us some time to get it all done so there is a good chance we will meet and hike together
You are awesome! I hope to see you back out there someday.
Already making plans steffy. BTW we were at Loft Mountain on the 29th when you were there
Gucci Girl and Grumpy on the 29th!
I think next year will be a good year to pound out some serious sections (once GG catches up)😂
Best of luck and feel better!
Thank you for your support and you haven’t heard the last of me!!
Gucci Girl and Grumpy right on! Keep up with IG too.
Peace,
EarthTone
Hiker
It’ll be fun to see both of you hiking!
GG can't wait because she loves picking on me
Love your attitude. We’ll have to do some sections together and of course trail magic!!
We will be heading south soon
Gucci Girl and Grumpy woohoo
Good call by GG and you, your not on the trail but your healthy and in good spirits. Plus no longer addicted to that miserable chew. See you at the Mills sometime.......walk on.
No more Copenhagen, and will you know who i am without my beard walking around the Mills ?
Section hikers still see the whole trail over time, many have pieced it together over the years.
Thanks and good luck. I’m not ever stopping going in to the woods, maybe some day I will be a thru Hiker but I’m content now.
You did great Grumpy and it’s been sure a pleasure to follow along! Welcome to the section hiker club!! Glad to have you aboard 😉 next time you guys are in PA let me know, I still need to hike from Duncannon NOBO and sure would love some hiking partners!
Thanks and we will let you know! Your support this whole time has been very appreciated.
Very cool. GG and I are already working on the first section to do together
Congrats on 300 - you have done a great job and you have the right attitude- looking forward to seeing the videos you post in 2019
Thanks so much, as always we will be back! Thanks for following!
Serafin Hikes I sure will !!!
Oh we will meet up. I think that GG will do SNP while I will be doing trail magic, so hopefully we can meet up then
Good job Grumpy! Still a small percentage of people who have done what you did. Great hike Brother
Thank you so much. I wished it could have been a full thru hike, but I am happy to be able to section hike it with Gucci Girl
Sorry 😐 to hear this but glad u will be continuing to section
Hike ...
At least you won't get sick of peanut butter being a section hiker, lol! Either way, you definitely got a good hunk of the trail done. Great work!
I was super happy with this round, i would have liked to have gone further but it is what it is
@@GucciGirlandGrumpy if you ever want to get in touch through email and do a few miles on the AT let me know! (I quit fb and Instagram)
I still have to hike from PA 183 to DWG to wrap up the state of PA. I'll probably do that in 2 sections next year.
yer bud,
White Castle
Would love to. Email GG. Dianew19@gmail.com
Hey, good job! No criticism from me. Welcome to the LASHER club.
Thanks Col. we will definitely see you out there
Nothing wrong with section hiking. Keep drinking your beer. 2019 will be a great year to hike.
Lol. Oh trust me I will keep drinking it and yes, I am imagining 2019 to be a good year for us.
Glad to see you're not beating yourself up over it, you did a great job out there and hiked a hell of a hike, very proud of you grumpy.
It was a great hike and i feel super happy to have gone almost 300 miles

just going back out after 1st setback and doing 300mi is amazing enough, but hey i got to see the infamous grumpy hike past my campsite, on a lighter side feel blessed cause if you'd been a horse well....you know...:) ... you did good ...
Would love to meet up!
.i am new and liking your channel so far,,,
I think you will enjoy it more once Gucci Girl and i hike together. It's just amazes me that we are still together with the way she picks on me
Would be fun to do trail magic with you! (And hike!)
Now that the pressure of a thru hike is over its time to get some good hiking trail magic and SOTA activation planned
Oh well,,You gave it a shot, it’s not meant to be,, get out there with GG and make some more videos ... Thanks for all the time you spent on videos so we could enjoy your journey 👍🏻
Thanks for always watching and yep, make some hiking memories with the other half. You never know, might get strong enough to just keep going.
Gucci Girl and Grumpy ...Checkout my photos on Facebook of our annual Fall hike on Superior Hiking Trail last week👍🏻
Maybe GG can start Springer with you, she has that 63 miles to make up
It’s probably better that she picks on you, rather than ignore you !!!!! Lol
You have a point
Aww, I’m gonna miss the videos! But in my opinion if you hike from Georgia to Maine, you hiked thru! Just my opinion 😃 Hope the knee heals up quickly and I’ll be here when you two get back out there!!
Hiker’s MaMa thanks for your support and yes we will return hopefully stronger and better and all the way!
You gained muscle! (Weighs more than fat.) Congrats on the miles you covered, and your acceptance of things not realized for now. Looking forward to your next section, with Gucci Girl!
Thank you. It has been a good year for me all in all. Everything happens for a reason I guess
Be proud.....you're an AT hiker.👍
I am and thank you. It was a good run
I know it may sound like a cliché, but since I was your first I feel the need to tell you...It wasn't you. It was me.
😂😂 I will come up and we can do a little hike too. Or hobble really.
Hey brother, how have you been? Let us know when you get a chance. I’ve finally started my channel. Would love to hear from you sometime. Eric, W1LDE
Could be you traded fat for muscle weight. Muscle weighs more.
Well I am gaining more weight just sitting around
