Les keep these videos coming, very much appreciate them.I have to have my little bit of Carlisle and station for my fond memories of years gone by from here in Alberta. Thank you. Bill.
Les, Great to see how your confidence has grown. Your camera work, choice of shots, variety of locations is to be applauded. You've also put Carlisle on the map for many RUclips viewers. Maybe you could shoot some scenes of what Carlisle used to be like with all its engine sheds, sidings etc before the WCML was electrified. One of my friends was amazed at the amount of grass/weeds etc on the permanent way around Carlisle station. Keep it up mate.
Great footage of Sir Nigels wheels and rods.. they fascinate me close up like that.. that Blue was not what I expected.. not the same as Mallard. Thank you Les.
Great video, Leslie. Nice to catch sir Nigel at Carlisle and a couple of DRS locos including the convoy which is nice to see oh and of course 390119 👍. 14:56 Very odd seeing 802 doing 1S61 to Glasgow I thought is only just 397s cause 802s only do Edinburgh.
Hi Les,sorry I havnt said ta for a while but im 64 and still hard at work. Most people cant wind down or have to take meds, I take 1 dose of LGR and all the stress and strain are gone. Seriously tho mate I look forward to getting in thinking "Whsts Les got for us now", so next time you out in the rain or cold just think, so many of us are so gratefull for what you do and go through. Carlisle for me is the most magical and mystical station ever. Thanks mate.🫲
Wet and steam go togeather, that wonderful aroma lingers far longer than on a dry day. Plus Sir Nigel is a very welcome change to the way overused Spam Can ! Thanks for this one Leslie, hope you didn't get too wet.
A nice surprise when 4 locomotives turned up instead of the expected two. I was pleased to see the mail trains passing before they vanish, just a shame it was so wet for Sir Nigel. It rained almost all the way home. A lot better the next day for my day out and looking OK for Saturday at the moment.
i went newcastle yesturday on a class 158 from carlisle and got some 802 LNER and cross country trains but when i arrived there was a class 60 passing so i managed to get it
I wonder? As the special left to be turned the A4 loco had its safety valve lifting. Was it a driver cheat to pressurise the boiler while being towed backwards?

Certainly did. Thanks for watching
I quite like the 66 on the logs, the shape and silhouette of the loco matches the wagons nicely!
