What a great set. Serious where it needs to be serious, silly and fun everywhere else.
Great playfeatures whilst also looking like one of the more finished, robust and 'pretty' city sets.
Thumbs up to Lego designers who made this one.
Just an idea, but your seeing your enthusiasm for construction site related stuff and having that much fun with this set makes me think you should consider adding a miners area under another area of your MOC city. I know it's already crowded under your tables, but I think the added functionality to all of your cargo transportation vehicles already in place can't be understated. Whatever you want them to be mining could be seen at various points being hauled around your city; from the dig site to trucks, who transport them to your trains, who then transport them to your ships. Other than the Octane factory, your trains don't have much else to interact with when it comes to cargo. Again it's just an idea, it's your MOC city, do whatever you find the most fun to do with it.
I agree wholeheartedly, and I appreciate you taking the time to express support for me furthering my enjoyment of this hobby :D I will figure out a way to make this happen.
Nov. 24th post: instagram.com/p/Bb4AJBmnl3J/
I was going to suggest the same thing.
Looks like a prime spot!
The "Caution BEARS" sign has bear claw marks :D :D
I like how they have been adding more animals to sets. I feel like it really adds to the play value!
Wow, I’m blown away by how many play features are in this. The gold mining theme has always pleased me, and this set is a great one!
18:31 is why I love and always come back to your channel.
This reminds me of the good old days with power miners. (Even though I was really young at the time and never actually got one of the sets
Isaac Adams yep
I think the problem of the truck being alittle too high could be solved by having the truck face away from the cart when it gets loaded.
The back end has a lower edge than the sides.
It's actualy suggested on the back of the box.
Might work better. :)
Well this is a pleasantly good set. Had this come out ten years ago child me would've loved it
10:26 Michael Bay's favourite set
N-P-A I don't get it
lol
it's a baby technic bucket wheel excavator
I wish the mine itself was more built up rather than the vehicles. Lego always focuses too much on vehicles in big sets instead of the play set (in city)
The big lorry thing could've come in it's own set.
Excellent review! Your narration is succinct yet incredibly informative.
That is a really good looking set, I love the last mine that came out and this is going to be a great addition to the mining industry in my town. It’s good to see they’ve made the back of the mine look complete. This one’s gone on my must have list. Another great review.
Jang you should add a mining section to your city.
honestly i like the rubber inserts.
The Mech Treehouse me too
Exactly my thoughts. Why are no rubber fittings used??????
Never in my life did I think I would get set 60188 and 60186 they are awesome
If McDonald's had mining equipment, it would look like this.
LOL
Those buckets can dump properly. The truck just needs to back up to the buckets, not come alongside them.
This set is very well crafted, the overall terrain is nicely formed, the vehicles fit into their environment, the minecarts and rails are a nice addition, and there are great pieces so if anyone does not like the builds, they can just add the parts to their collection.
This is an overall well planned, well made, and well executed set. It's just overall.... well.
perfect... play... feature... action... goodness. -jangbricks 2017
Looking really good. Will certainly get this for my collection.
I wish Lego would release a stand alone roller coaster already.
They have the parts now but not a stand alone coaster. Well there is ONE, but it sucks.
I got the whole series of these sets for X-mas last year
I got this set on Clearence. Instead of $99.99, I got it for $69.99! Couldn't say no to the deal!
Quite an amazing set with lots of play value, that's how Lego should always be! You "rock", Jang! LOL
AWESOME review as always!!!
At least the bear has one use, to make the monitor visible.
Great Review Jang. Nice design and playability. With this color scheme, they will like it in Belgium and Germany:-)
cool set! I loved the old mining sets and it's great to see them return!
of course right when I grow out of lego LEGO starts making cool sets again
You can never grow out of Lego buddy.
I imagine using the grinder at a zombie apocalypse
Lloyd Oalog i to😂
Okay, a few thoughts...
That front loader looks just wrong! (Same problem too in set 60185). The cage is definitely set at the wrong angle. The one in the old mining range (4201) was much better.
Red loading buckets, etc on predominantly yellow vehicles. Looks odd.
Personally prefer the old style gold nuggets to these new smoother ones.
Chris Benton it’s fine
I wish I was a kid again and had room for a set of this size. I think I want to get one for my nephew when he is big enough. Definately the best new city set for 2018. Thanks for a great review.
Would have preferred olive green or maybe the dark yellow, the red/yellow combo is a bit 1970s lego. But a nice set for play value nevertheless.
Counterpoint: I love the natural colors, but I also love the bright primary colors of Lego. It makes things look like, well, "Lego". Plus, when most pieces are just 8 colors, it makes more of your collection match. I'd prefer the standard themes (Town/City, Castle, Pirates, space themes) really emphasize the classic primary colors, with just the occasional other color for accent. Probably most of the non-licensed themes (like Ninjago and Chima and so on), too. Then stick with the more realistic colors for the advanced themes (like the UCS and modular buildings) and licensed lines (like Star Wars).
The metal detector is not as old as you say there is a very very old metal detector but the one in this set is quite recent and there isnt much of a difference the main one being the old one has a stud on the round end and there are also other small differences
Darth Vader: "My lord, that looks useful to expand mining operations."
Me: "You already have one mining facility and have still yet to deliver the complete pieces of the MOC I need. Focus on just buying individual pieces (or taking them from Rebel scrum). The machinery looks great however.
4:49 my thoughts: "somebody needs to motorize this"
What an excellent set this looks to be.
Maybe LEGO Creator should just make a stand alone mine without any vehicles
Aww, Lego, why? You had a perfect set with the mine part, how could you botch an easy to fix problem like the mine carts not able to always dump properly?!
I cannot afford a set like this, but WOW, what a set it is!
Bree Lynch it's only a bill dude :p
you said "wishing i was a kid again." and yet, i still play with Lego, and i am not a child at all!
i sit there playing an actually engage in the story line my mind is making up on the spot, and occasionally my wife comes down and watches me play. she just laughs a little shaking her head. she doesn't mind, because i always tell her if she starts to have doubts "i play with my Lego to allow my mind to escape the constant bombardment of reality. the only thing that brings me back is that i have a wonderful wife waiting back at home."
so, i have kept acting like a little boy because i now have the money to buy the bricks needed to build the things i always wanted to when i was young. and now is my chance to enjoy it.
i understand that your wife maybe completely different, and your mind is probably saying "dude, what are you doing? your a grown adult. not a little boy, grow up!" but that is how and why i play with my Lego. infact, some of the vehicles buildings and characters have remained untouched apart from play time if you like :)
Wierd flex but ok
Who cares?
The map looks like something from Star Wars.
This set far exceeded my expectations... especially the mine! Wish we’d get a UCS one lol.
maybe the loader picks up the gold from the carts, the loads into the dump truck for longer transport
Nice set!
These rollercoaster tracks may indicate that we could expect a Creator rollercoaster set in 2018 :o
there is one comming as a 3 in 1 Creator set
I've got the last mine too, and i think you can combine these sets very well, so i'm going to buy this set
Yes!
Me too :D
Good luck on your endeavor, but I am not that interested yet until I buy an own home.
Jop Zwambach Same! Wasn't the previous one from around 2012?
Good set! Jang, does this make you want to include a mining site in your city?Would be a great addition! Thanks for the review.
Hey jang I was thinking if I should get the high speed passenger train do u think it’s a good set
I love LEGO
I think the dump truck is supposed to reverse the narrowest part of the up to the mine carts in order to drop in gold smoothly
Great video as always. Keep up the great work. :)
ItS sO sMoOtH... Great vid!
fantastic set, also loading the truck from the rear should give more tilt clearance for the mine carts
8:this set strictest of the bunch. Looking forward for saving my money and buying it.
I wish the mine was bigger but it’s nothing a few mountain rock pieces off brick link can do
The rock part is great!
So few exposed studs in the vehicles ! :O Lego is really improving on this side, so nice :)
Great review! I think the one thing that would be an improvement is a crank arm to keep the grinders turning continually
"It's smooth" - GNAJBRicKS
omg, no coffee mug?
Pavel .K
What an atrocity
how the heck is this mine more complete then the last one. the new one barely hold a candle to the last one
that set was made for you!
I’m not sure if this could fix the problem of the pickup trucks bed bring too high for the basket on top of it but: I think I noticed that the back of that basket is not as high as the sides of it, but it could’ve been my eyes playing a trick on me, so you could therefore turn the truck around making the mine train able to dump the loot into the basket on the trucks bed
i have this set it iso soooooooooooo fun to play with also look very good
When did that specific metal detector get released?
Why I think they lowered the cage on the truck that jang said looks off: if you want to have the arms of the truck go all the way up, for any reason while playing g with it, so it doesn’t get stuck on the top of the cage
This set wil survive the stain of time. Over 20 years kids still love this stuff.
many many thanks Jangs for this Review : in my Contry (Italy) these items are still not arrived so for now i can make for my self a good idea for what i want and need for the next year thanks AGAIN
I like it, lots of stuff going on here. Until your hand entered the shot, I thought the crusher was a lot bigger. I think the dump truck should be articulated in the middle, it would give it a little bit more realism. There are a lot of great parts here, might have to pick two up. Thanks for sharing!!!
DargoDog you're right you're very very right
I'm supriced that lego didn't put in the hinge element they used for the old dumpers in the little truck would have helped with the warping and made the truck "driveble" as in you would stear it. might get this set and see if the hinge fits.
"The Mechanism... YES!"
Just dont put the truck sideways, load him up from the back! I guess that would work :)
I didn't like this at first but this is a really cool set
this is an amazing set
That track. Looks like a rollercoaster track. Is anyone else picking this up?
Panonmyhead it IS a rollercoaster track
I agree with all you say
Thanks for the review! I'm looking forward to this series. Pretty quick they went away from the Jungle series or is that just me?
Can you add a mine area to your city
Nice set looks a little retro
Extend that engine compartment add a turntable
I think this is the best set of the new wave
The tipper truck isn't as cool as the old one but the set is dope and the minifigs are dope
NO NONNONONO THIS WILL NOT REPLACE POWER MINERS GOSH DARNIT
i hope it won't power miners is one of my fav themes
Bobinski 33 power miners was late 2000s, Rock Raiders was late 1990s
Really good!
I love your videos
Why haven't they made an oil drilling set yet?
James Goldring because they don’t like that that’s why they got rid of working with Shell which is stupid in my opinion
James Goldring don't bring that up my social studies class just stopped learning about oil drilling....
Too controversial. And quite frankly too boring to glamorise in a lego set, other than an oil rig there aren't any other sets which I think could be made. With mining there is quite a fair bit to release based off real life equipment.
They stopped working with shell because what shell does is bad for the environment. It was pretty much a bublicity stunt
Ryan World War II History Buff Guy 582 it's was conservationists who pressured them to leave Shell. Wanting to maintain a good image, they ended their partnership at the end of the contract.
I was cleaning out my LEGO bucket watching this and I found the mini fig boss of the mine set from 2014
I'm getting this set then taking the mine apart for a mine and quarry I dont need a mine shaft
That mine build is nice, I would love if they would have a similar build for the vibranium mine in the Black Panther set instead of just one piece of track and the minecart
Florian Humer yes I wish they had the track
I wish they use the new cart piece for that
How can you spin it because it spins by its self how Dow you do that
Nice Set, I'm probably gonna get a Star Wars The Last Jedi Set
I think they should just use old style train rail and old style mine train. the rollercoster just didn't match. just my personal opinion.
Wow!
“It’s smooth”
wow it's very cool
that set would look cool in some way in your city.
That's a neat set!
