Great album remember when it came out the tide was turning in the states and the UK Grunge was the dominant force . Back then it was a pure , rare pleasure to hear such music . Now you never hear music like that at all unless your listening to the past.
I agree it is one of the best recordings I have heard. I mean everything the songs are fresh melodic with good separation of all the instruments. John Paynes voice is amazing. He is able to use his voice many different ways which is amazing! Love Michael Sturges’s drumming on this. Also Al Petrilli is awesome.
I feel the same way. The song might sound good, but not with John Payne as lead singer , because he exaggerates trying to fill in John Wetton 's shoes, and the result is something, but not the ASIA sound .
Asia is never been my favorite band, and I can't explain why because they are good musicians, and some songs are really good...maybe it's because they miss some kind of adventurous feeling. They sound too "perfect" and balanced to me. Opinions.
my opinion is :-O they do sound perfect to me as well. Is that a bad thing to you because you think maybe too good to be true? Or you prefer a little more raw and less produced?
Wouldn't be allowed to have that line like a "Primitive crawling away ", In today's rock music if you were a white band without facing a back lash to end your musical status ,

This song and album is highly underrated. Desire makes a perfect track for background music behind closed doors. So beautifully written.
