Good job. Sometimes waiting will be your job. That's why they make father's waiting rooms. I know it's your baby but - dang waiting sucks !! It's like you just loaded a new pill for testing and it's raining out - dang ! We are all excited for you Erik ☺️

You underestimate how much you have taken on by yourself! You are trying to learn programming and how to operate a very complex machine at the same time plus it's your loss if you crash. I have utmost respect for someone that can accomplish that!

I know it's kind of dragging you down but don't let it get to you. Every experience I have ever had with setting up new equipment has gone the way this has for you. There's always something holding you back. Its always takes longer than you think it will. Just hang in there.

Just a few timing issues, but those things you had no control over. It’s frustrating because it’s already a heavy load. But, you know, just do what you can do. I’m with you in acknowledging it’s a big challenge. You are looking at a whole new world. A very complex world. They probably told you that once everything is all set up, you are just an operator. That’s much simpler than programming! I hope they focus on just the operator and owner’s jobs for now because the rest can wait. As it is, you’ll still have the operator and owner’s roles. That’s lots. This part is like a big lump in the effort graph, but it will settle back down or it means you’re selling too much. Anyway, you know I’m cheering for you.

I think it's going faster than you thought it would be. You have a lot on your mind and a lot of things going on at the same time.
One thing for sure while you are setting up the shop I think I would move that air compressor away from the building in it's own little building with sound proof walls. Those things can hurt you hearing plus you're going to put a lathe on that side of the shop. Something to think about.
You'll have a great machine shop.

@@janne65olsson The generator he's using is a big three phase unit, I don't personally know if it had connections to providing the 220 single phase needed for the compressor, but I wouldn't be surprised if he had a portable that would since he is in the construction business too. There is probably some other factor we don't know about.

He's trying to learn a complex specialty Good requires lots of similar experience, and with new equipment he's never used and doesn't even know all the parts of. Meanwhile he's dealing with power and construction so on. This is too much for one person.
It's the opposite environment for learning. For learning this complex and difficult unfamiliar trade, you got to sit down and think and learn a bit at a time. Then move on to the next thing.
"We're going to build a part today" is I completely unrealistic objective.
