Congrats! I retired 10 years ago from 45 years as a toolmaker, aircraft, marine, conventional and maintenance Machinist. Partly before there were any CNC machines. It was fun while it lasted. I do miss it a bit but I sold all my instruments/tooling so I guess I’m done working. I don’t miss wearing steel toe boots. They ruined my feet, which took 5 years to overcome. Just be sure to proof each program. B/C if the machine crashes, it will be time consuming and maybe expensive to fix.
Erik when you get a chance clean the glass on the inside of the machine and apply some rainx it will help with the coolant from blurring your visual on the door glass.
Great job Erik! I’ve never even wanted to run a barrel tuner, but I’m going to buy one now simply because I feel like I was there pulling the cables and digging the ditches! Next up: EC Tuner suppressor!
Hey Eric, if those inspectors ever order a tuner-brake, do them the way they did you. Naa, i know you'd never stoop that low. This will be over soon. You are THE man.👍💪 I will need two of these gems. 😎
Erik, you have what it takes....that ragged, pitbull-on-a-pork-chop, latch on and keep moving forward, determination. From helping friends build their shops and hearing customer stories over the years, I had an idea what you were up against...but never for a second did I doubt that you would cross the finish line and achieve your goal. That Mori is a beast, it's going to serve you well, and open up a whole new world of production. Congratulations, brother! All the hard work and headache is paying off. Did you give the wife the first EC tuner off the machine as an anniversary present?!?!🤣😂
You’re getting there Erik! Putting the biggest hurdles behind you. You are the type of guy who says “I’ve never done it before, but I know how. Take it one step at a time and never stop starting. Simple”. Of course, none of this project was simple, but you didn’t let that stop you. You get things done when others spend their time explaining why they can’t do it.
Happy anniversary Erik, Wishing you and Melissa many more years of fruitful endeavors. If I get all thrilled watching your progress, I can just imagine how you feel. One step closer.
Congratz!!! WTG for staying the course thru all the challenges seen & unseen. Hang in there as I'm sure there's more "fun" to be had for a bit. You got this.
I love your building vids. More people should watch this to understand what the word Jobsite means and how to live thru a construction job. I used to supply installed products and do the warranty work and customer service for my subcontractors.
Eric your like a kid who got exactly what he wanted for christmas. I am happy for you .Its ok to get pissed off about inspectors if people dont understand they've never worked construction . I never worked construction where the boss wasn't always pissed about something
I know we can send robots to alien and worlds and stuff but this still blows my mind. What an incredible piece of machinery. Great job on those pieces. 👍🏻👍🏻
What an incredible machine😃 And here I was picturing you hunched over a whirring, whizzing contraption with a long, wooden-handled tool in your hands, for hours on end. Good luck to you, Erik👍
Erik this is fantastic that you have the CNC machine making chips and producing parts. It has been great watching your journey on this project. Can't wait to see more of the adventure. Sure have come along way from the HF Mini Lathe. Glad you are up and running.
You're getting there Erik. Perhaps as Winston Churchill said, "Now this is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning." Carry on brother.
Happy belated anniversary, the years go flying by. Hope you have time to take your wonderful bride out for for a day, so you can both relax and have some fun.
Happy Anniversary. Congratulations on the 1st part made with the CNC machine and if that is truly the 1st one please keep it separate from the others. Keep the original 1 and laser engraved then gold plate it. Put it behind glass and hang it on the wall. I have a feeling this will not be the only 1st of many things that you will make in you're machine shop. Loved the show and please keep em coming.
A small recommendation. I know you are already done with backfill, but put a foot of sand around and above those conduits. It costs a little up front, but makes any future work MUCH safer and faster! We have been doing that for years. A load of sand goes a long way toward the reliability of your install. This is especially true when we are likely to be doing future work or if it is for an owner rather than just a business or utility. This is after thousands of miles of conduit and cable installed. (for reference, my current job is 1.2 million feet of cable in about 100K feet of conduit and cable trench) Regardless, great work. And I am STOKED to see that coming together for you! Get this dream making money ASAP eh? ;-)
That is an awesome machine. I've been a machinist for 42 years. Never did get into computer machines ' always old style engine lathe and standard Bridgeport. But after seeing your new machine. I am regretting not learning these machines. Very cool and now your only limited to your imagination. Well done and congratulations......you have put alot of time and .money into this operation. Wish you the best. 1 day I'll order 1 of your tunner breaks for 1 of my 6.5 creedmoors
Hi Erik You’re nearly there mate it won’t be long and you can look back on this experience and laugh at the incompetence of the inspectors and their lack of care for the cost to you , The tuners look great a real credit to you , as soon as you are finished setting up and production is up to speed I will place an order for three breaks for my F class rifles , I have been spreading the word over here for you through my clubs so I hope that gets you some orders from here , keep up the good work Mate God bless Steve from Australia
I have ran a few cnc mills over the years and one simple cnc lathe. The multi chuck cnc lathes are insane and extremely fun and scary to watch. I can't wait to get my tuner brake and I don't care if it takes 6 months to show up. You are doing it right and making an amazing product that I can't wait to use. Thanks for all your hard and I appreciate all the information you have given to us in all your videos.
That machine is freaking nice! Nicer than anything I've used or owned by anywhere I've worked. If the last place I worked would have used some deburring brushes like you, I wouldn't have polished and deburred for the entirety of my 3 weeks there. lol
I shoot airguns long range and this idea is a game changer! I fashioned my own version here in South Africa and I'm a believer! When I get a centrefire I'll be getting one of these for sure. Well done Sir!
Great to see the process of getting your machine shop going, keep up Mr Cortina. I'm about to embark on a much smaller scale version with my own home machine shop soon. Learning tons for you, thank you for sharing. Saludos desde Los Angeles, Ca.
Great job my friend ! Now if you can get the electrical company to be as efficient as your new machine .lol the rest of us will greatly appreciate it .... Keep up what your doing and your faith . It will all be worth it . 🥳
If every person in this world had your work ethic this world would be a very different place...
Two months ago this was just an idea rattling around in your head.
Congrats! I retired 10 years ago from 45 years as a toolmaker, aircraft, marine, conventional and maintenance Machinist. Partly before there were any CNC machines. It was fun while it lasted. Persistence pay off, great job.
Hey Man, You really encouraged Me to try a new method of reloading and it's paying off down range on the target. Thank YOU SIR.
You are one busy person. Well done!!
Erik when you get a chance clean the glass on the inside of the machine and apply some rainx it will help with the coolant from blurring your visual on the door glass.
Also, car wax works good too. But you gotta make sure the glass is super clean before you apply the car wax. I'd go with Mothers Brazilian wax.
That thing should come with an internal wiper blade!
If the window is some form of plastic, make sure you use Rain-X "plastic"treatment.
The Rotoclear S3 is a "windshield wiper" made for CNCs.
Ceramic coating may be a better solution or a spin window of some sort
Great job Erik! I’ve never even wanted to run a barrel tuner, but I’m going to buy one now simply because I feel like I was there pulling the cables and digging the ditches! Next up: EC Tuner suppressor!

I will need two of these gems. 😎
THey don't care if you sit around for two days. THEY sat around for two days. We love you, keep up the good work.
You've got that right.
They are all the same, take their time to do anything and at the same time waste everyone else's time ????
Granulation for the first finished Part! Hang in there, step by step, Cut after cut and keep the ships flowing.

Awesome job Erik👊🏻🇺🇸
You're getting there Erik. Perhaps as Winston Churchill said, "Now this is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning." Carry on brother.
Ooooo a finishing brush!! Didnt know that was a thing.
Erik so proud for you! It scared me when you started the lathe up and I don’t have a penny invested in it.
That is awesome. I love watching cnc machines to their stuff. Thank you. Now you need to add a windshield wiper to the inside glass.
Happy belated anniversary, the years go flying by. Hope you have time to take your wonderful bride out for for a day, so you can both relax and have some fun.
Nice to see your plan coming together and finally seeing an EC Tuner come out of the CNC Machine!! Good luck!!
I've been waiting on this video! So glad to see you having that kind of success...the sky is the limit now!
Happy Anniversary.

That thing is seriously cool. Thanks for posting this.
That is freekin awesome man. You bout to get er going now. Congrats bud.
Awesome job man, keep moving forward.
Waiting to get mine from that lathe and can’t wait!!! Thanks a bunch
You should definitely check the internal minimum and maximum thread diameters. The thread gage can be good but the ID can be too large
I would not have covered till inspection
This is such an awesome machine! Oh and the DMG Mori is also quite nice!
Congratulations! Glad to see it coming together for you. Best wishes!
Great Video! I can't wait to purchase the Tuner Break finished in black. With that thing, you will eventually be able to make your own actions.
Awesome, congratulations on the start of the business.
Making great progress. Fun watching the lathe do it’s thing. Don’t burn yourself out Erik!
Yes indeed! I can’t wait till mine is here for my Vudoo 22.
Congratulations. It was a long trip to get this far. Well done
May God bless your hard work!
That is a very neat lathe system! Wow, well done.
Amazing Erik very quick and congratulations on your first part
Great job my friend ! Now if you can get the electrical company to be as efficient as your new machine .lol the rest of us will greatly appreciate it .... Keep up what your doing and your faith . It will all be worth it . 🥳
COOOOOL STUFF
Outstanding.............................. see you did it, one of thousands !!
Happy anniversary to you and your wife
Way Cool, awesome.

Good Work! Can't wait until it's in full production to order.
Really nice job,you are doing.
I enjoy everything.
Congratulations Erik!! I gotta hand it to you, once you set your mind to something you just go for it!!
