5...Chocolate Bronze
This is the kind of color that I was notice in public and compliment. It's the right balance of unique and classy. Turquoise chrome and ultra yellow are cool, but they can border on tacky or being "too much" in many circumstances.

I will give it a redline straight to 5, that color is what I wanted my first car to look like, unfortunately I painted it back in the 70s and well I'll just say it fell below my expectations, but the fun factor was way up there.
Agree, this is so subtle but powerful and deep-vibrant, the switch to that dark red-black satin style is wonderful.

Definitely a five for me. It resembles weathered bronze, and for some reason I can't shake the thought that it reminds me of an orange Tootsie Pop.

I was definitely not expecting that outcome. I was expecting it to be more orange (I hate orange) but dark copper was a pleasant surprise. Nice work!
This is a great color, almost a Rootbeer brown. I like it.
I'm going to give this 4.5 out of 5. I could see this as a premium OEM color on a big luxury car.
Before you started spraying I predicted that it would be brown. Brown is just a really dark orange and I figured that orange pearl over dark cherry (an almost black red) would certainly result in BROWN.
I was ALMOST correct. I can see it shifting from the dark cherry through brown and then to the orange pearl. It isn't a flashy "LOOK AT MEEE!" type of paint job, but more of a "This is what you get when you buy a top end car: nice paint!"
This is an adult color. The kids won't appreciate it, but mature adults will appreciate the subtle sophistication of the perceived palette.
I think this would look good on a Genesis
I like to think i watch these videos pretty regularly and a get a feel for the type of community here.
This comment is wack. You come across as a bitter old person that hates on kids because they have the youth you no longer do. That's why you have to keep digging at them with comments like "the kids won't like it" and "this is what you get when you buy a top-end car".
Its fine to like the color. It's not fine to arbitrarily decide on nothing more than your own feelings that younger people won't like it because it's not a "look at me" color as you so put it.
Sorry and im sure youre a great person but it really grinds my gears to people saying backhanded things like that to a group that didnt even do anything except exist. I hope you have a good rest of your day and hope you understand where my concern is coming from.

@@Jaaskeleton but he does have a very valid point on it being a high end car. spray it on a rolls royce and boom. badass luxury car heck even a cadillac CTS-V. this color would fit luxury car brands better as exotic materials and paints are normally on luxury or exotic cars anyways. thats why they aint cheap
@@Jaaskeleton As colorshift pearl goes this is a really understated one that appeals more to people that want to blend in traffic in while still having cool paint up close, than to people that want to "be seen". From a distance it looks like a fairly conventional copper/burnt sienna pearl, and it would indeed work well on a landyacht class ultra luxury sedan where a loud finish would just look jarring because the message of the paint is conflicting with the message of the car. If you see a lime green Maybach you're going to expect someone like Post Malone to step out, not the aged CEO of a multinational corporation.

My thoughts exactly took me back to the root beer Nissan hardbody with the blast pipes that was on the cover of an older mini truckin magazine.

I like it a lot actually. Was prepared to "meh" it because it looked a little heavy being sprayed. Could have even nibbed it down to a 3 or 4 gram drizzle but I dig that copper effect.
It's like a chocolate over caramel...I could see this on an old school caddy.

Speaking of vintage..this colour would best suit old school muscle like the 1969 Plymouth Road Runner/Dodge Charger Daytona and 1970 Ford Torino GT.
Ford actually has a color almost the same, and they called root-beer at least that's what the guy who had a f150 in my neighborhood said they called it, when I asked him cuz it had my eye from the first time I saw him drive by.
3 instead of 5. I like the end result, but I like back cherry much more and would like to see it show thru more.
sorta same. using a guestimation from the result, id say the sweet spot would have been 3 or 3.5 g per gallon.
@I Object, for me it's between a 2-3 out of 5. I was concerned about the few large sparkly bits on the hood and front fascia, were those bits of debris or large paint particles... Down the driver's side, at times it was looking a bit like some guy's no-so-good attempt to paint his car black and orange with rattle cans. I think that if anything, maybe try a red pearl atop the black cherry.
I bet it does , sometime videos don't all the contrast .
5 I personally think that gloss black wheels would compliment the look for a 5+ That's absolutely gorgeous!

4.9 - I personally love this color, it immediately reminds me of embers of a fire, or a very antiqued copper, but I'd also be curious to see the effect with 2.5-3 grams per gallon.

A definite 5 for me!! Love how it transitions from an orange tint, to a root beer color and back to a blackcherry. I would also love to see that orange as a standalone color or two toned with another.

I give it a 4. I really like the combination, but my preference would be for the orange to be a little more subtle. It would be interesting to see what a full blown Mojave orange on the brake calipers would look like.
Your a clever man, I like the colour with gentle touches of black around the car, its not a colour I'd go for on my car but, it suits that car very well, you have a 5 for the colour from me
I have to say 5 because I'm not really a fan of either of these colors but there is no denying this looks smooth. Very unique too
love the final result. Only gets a 4.5 though, because I feel the wheels look dead with the glossy finish of the body. The wheels with a contrast or complimentary colour would be the ticket, the mat-finish looked great with the flat black cherry, but now they just look bland.

look at the reflection of the building in the hood, it's not glossy at all, definitely satin finish... or hasn't been buffed yet.
WOOooooooo-HHoooo! That's a 5/5, and I was NOT expecting this to be SO. FREAKING. COOL! Man, its just a wonderfully unexpected blend, and quite unique. I like seeing orange combos, but personally I would never choose them for my own stuff (its just not my favorite) - THIS I would definitely choose, if I wanted a dark hue.
I absolutely love this combo. Definelty wasn't expecting this end result and fits the Stang so well.
That's a 5 from me. Black cherry is one of my favorite colors and this gave it a nice almost coffee contrast on it that isn't so overpowering and flashy. Like someone said, this is a high end car type paint job. Looks awesome!
Definitely a 5. When it passes from highlight to shadow and starts to pick up the black cherry it becomes a fantastic root beer color. It's subtle but never boring for your eyes.

3. Pretty much undecided. I feel like the wheels are throwing it off for me. I think with different wheels, that car (and paint color) would be sweet. However, the paint job itself is superb, as is all the rest of your work.
yea, it’s the wheels for me too. i’m not usually a fan of chrome wheels but I could see that here or a satin

that's a loud resounding 5 +5 for me. being drawn to both black cherry and burnt orange tones this combo, though i would not have thought to put them together; is absolutely brilliant

Easily a 3.5-4 for me. I tend to gravitate more toward blues and purples, but this is a nice burnished bronze effect. Gorgeous reveal.
2.5 - 3 on the tint instead of 5 parts per gallon of clear.

That is a solid 5. Very elegant and sophisticated without being flashy or over the top.
Honestly did not expect much from this (went in figuring a 1-2 rating), but I am pleasantly surprised. Easily a 4-5, very slick.
5 all the way. I love “burnt bronze” colors. This result is a little lighter, but it looks great.
Beautiful transition between colors. With less Mojave orange pigment, the cherry black might have come through a bit more, but you never know for sure. Definitely a 5+

That is a solid "5" on that color. It comes on as a Deep Bronze then Copper with orange highlights in it. I love all deep earth toned colors and this plucks all the right strings for me. Glad you wanted to do this & DID!

The color looks great. The wheels for me needed to be a gloss black though. I know gloss black is overdone but in this case I think it would set off better.

I thinks as well.and I would say the entire car a flat ...no floss with that shade.a little less pigment too.1 third less to show the black cherry more. .I could hear that in the tone of his voice as well ..hindsight makes it easy to see better lol

I thought youd end up with brown at best, but this looks surpisingly good. Bronze from straight with purple-ish tint when angled. Not something id choose for my car, but looks very good.
4, I’d call that a “Chocolate Sunshine”. Not my favorite color combo, but it came out better than I thought it would. I was preparing myself for heaving, so ya know…..lol.

I could see this being really good as a base for a steampunk custom job, as the look is like iron oxide with copper.
Weld some copper piping detail, install some steam valves and pressure gauges, paint riveted plates texture on it, and this would look super dope.

Came out super chocolatey! I'd love to see some speed shape samples of this at 10g/gal. I think over a silver base this has potential as a cool copper pearl top coat.
totally a 5 in my opinion. love the transition in the colors.
4.8 (I would use it as a replacement for some of the other more gold colors because I like that darker background instead of a lot of the bright copperish backgrounds)

That orange color swirling in the clear container was beautiful. Too bad nobody's been able to cast that beautiful swirl pattern. It's truly beautiful.
I was thinking the same thing about the swirl. Its mesmerizing to look at it.
marbleizing paint might come close if you swirl instead of dab
@@allenbo8234 There was a fad in the late 80’s/early 90’s called a bowling ball paint job. They looked just like what you’re describing.
this is probably my favorite of the oranges you've used 'cause i adore dark oranges and reds, which this car had both of. total 5 for me

I absolutely LOVE this combo! I'm an avid outdoorsman, it reminds me of a stealthy hunter who wears just enough orange to be legal. I've watched a lot of your videos. All the combos you do are amazing. I've loved a majority of them. But this, I'm IN LOVE with and if I were to paint my truck this would be it. Gabe needs to get his thinker checked.
I give it a four . Now it just needs gold deep dish 18 inch rims with taller tires with raised white letters or better yet gold fineline sidewall tires

its a 3 for me, its great, but not my cuppa, im generally a very specific colour palette person to be quite honest, it would have been a 5 if it was purple with the same effect as black and purple is just an ultimate combo to me, i am actually curious though, is there a purple version of that mojave orange? if so, i may see about getting a bit for some of my rc projects

I love the metallic orange highlights over a darker color, but not so much against the red-purple of the Black Cherry. I give it a 3.5 or 4.
5+. It's reminds me of a sort of deep orange chocolate as the colors change with the black cherry becoming more to the front. Awesome paint combination!

More of a copper-orange color. Not bad, but maybe painting the brake calipers the same color and two-toned rims would've made it pop more! Good job...

That's the first thing I though of when I saw the finished product. Back in the 70's I had a metal flecked rootbeer Porsche Hot Wheel. It was my favorite HW car I had.
1 - I hope it looks better in person because it comes across as having a very brown under tone which I think is really preventing the black cherry or the orange from doing something impressive. I love that it's different but I think this is definitely a case where the end product is less than the sum of its parts. I too love a burnt copper sort of look as others have stated but this is not that in my opinion. To each their own, however.
5 that is really nice. I am curious, why do you call it “Dip your car”? Is it not a paint? I know nothing about this stuff but I love your videos. My granddaughter (she’s 8) lives to watch them too.
I give it a four, it's pretty darn nice looking but I think a smidge more Pearl would have set it off.
For effect, I definitely give it a 5; you're right, any more would have been too much. HOWEVER: the color itself, I think should have been a tad more to the red, to bring out the red in the black cherry base.
Damn, that's a 5 from me! I love how the pearl orange and the red play with the blue sky reflections, making hues of purples. Beautiful color combo!
Didn't think I'd do this but that car gets a 5/5 from me. Paints not bad either. Just kidding! When I first saw that colour it was like BOOM! Freakin awesome. My suggestion is ignore Gabe more often if it leads to results like this.
Awesome color. Similar to what I had on my Mustang years ago. Chevy Hugger orange under Cadillac cinnamon fire.
One of my dream cars is the 1964 Mercury Comet. If i could ever afford to have one, I'd choose this color!

Personally probably a 3.5! It's a little too dark for my taste. Definitely different the burnt orange would look exceptional over a gray base! The black is just too dark.
