Another great video Joe!!! After leaving a comment on one of your last videos about still using the R10, i have taken the plunge and bought an Exputt & started using the MLMPRO2 we just need chipping working better so i dont have to flop shot around the greens.
That's amazing! You will definitely notice the more accurate ball flight with the MLM2PRO.. yes I really feel like the chipping fix can't be too far off now... they have known and acknowledged it a while back. This set up with Springboks connector honestly rivals GC QUAD or any major Launch Monitor. I have seen some random ghost shots though and they occur if you change club in the Rapsodo app or for me I did a re alignment mid round of the unit and it did a ghost shot. So if you're going to play in SGT rounds or something serious then something to be aware of.
Hi Joe . I have emailed the connector's developer for the implementation of Exputt's wireless function. Since you are able to connect to your mobile device you should be able to mirror your screen to your windows or use an Android emulator or native Android Subsystem within Windows. So you wouldn't need a video capture card or use an HDMI cable at all :) The connector only needs a window to see the necessary numbers and recognize them using implemented OCR function. So we should not be forced to use the camera app... If I had the coding knowledge I could have modified it myself but I do not think even an AI engine like Chat GPT or something like that can modify softwares like this yet ;)
Nice! I'll be interested to see what Springbok says. Tbh I like the hard wired ex putt as it's more stable I found the ex putt not great when wirelessly connecting. Also it might be because you are already using your device to wirelessly send the Rapsodos data so this would require 2 mobile devices right? Also jump on the Facebook group he is a member there and would be able to answer this straight away. Cheers
Brilliant video, thanks so much. Thankfully Exputt is still available here in Blighty so bought one to go with the MLM2PRO. Now need the computer bits and will hopefully get it all up and running🤞
That's awesome! Seriously this is hands down the best set up bang for buck. You have GC QUAD like accuracy. I have noticed a few random ghost shots happening once in a while. They tend to happen if you change club or for me I did an alignment mid round and it did a ghost shot. Something to be aware of. You will love it mate! Get stuck in to all those SGT rounds!
Joe, this video is enormously helpful. Can you do another, or maybe explain here, how to use the ExPutt with the Mevo+? Can I use the FlightScope connector with the Spingbok for the ExPutt? I've been able to connect the ExPutt to the Springbok connector, but I'm stumped as to how to move on from there.
Hey mate thanks for that 🙏 Yes you can absolutely connect your Mevo+ and exputt but you will need the connector in the description of the video below. You will have to use the OCR technology as Springbok doesn't have a mevo plus to be able to work out the Bluetooth connection direct to PC. You will have to select the mevo form the menu but the rest is how you see it in the other video out your ROI's over the correct metrics on the data screen. I might be getting my hands on a mevo in the next few months and I'll try make a video showing it off and how to connect it. Cheers ruclips.net/video/DRWMju2-atI/видео.htmlsi=RjEGoJN5vXvuv1Vi
Hi Joe, I understand that the Springbok connector will now work with the Mevo Plus. I have the Mevo Plus and ExPutt and also have the same projector that you have. After having your setup for the past month, have you been able to set up your lighting in your simulator room without having it compromise the BenQ 936’s amazing picture? Also I have a gaming computer which is situated directly to the right of my hitting mat. Would I be able to set up my ExPutt camera on the top of my pc’s monitor and putt in that direction?
Hey mate so yes you could set up your ex putt in any direction it wouldn't matter. I haven't used the set up in a while now as I was doing a lot of testing and enjoying the Uneekor eye mini. If I was to have this permanent I would be using my lights I have in the back of the room and even potentially getting some additional pin spotlights (like the one I have over my hitting area) to light up the ex putt mat.
Hi Joe, fantastic videos you produce. I have recently purchased the MLM2PRO. My intentions are to implement GSPRO, ExPutt, and SpringBok connector as you described in this video. I cannot wait. I was wondering if you could answer a couple of questions I have? 1. How did you connect the Laptop to the Projector, I assume through another HDMI connection? And 2) what are your Laptop specs (mem, cpu, & video)? While I would love to project in 4K, I am not sure I wish to spend big bucks for a gaming laptop. I was hoping to get away with perhaps a higher end regular user laptop (16GB RAM, Core 5i or 7i, and whatever video it comes with). Thank you for sharing. This is fantastic! Dean
Hey Dean thanks for that mate! The connector is great 👍 I have had a little issue where the airplay sometimes takes a bit of time to update in the background but that's just me Springbok himself doesn't have this issue. Yes the laptop I have a 10m HDMI cable going from it up the wall and clipped to the roof straight into my projector. I'm lucky to have the BenQ LK936ST it's an amazing projector and really the industry standard for golf Sim projectors. BenQ do offer some cheaper options that are still fantastic! Like the TH671ST. The main thing is you want a short throw projector. My laptop is a Lenovo Legion 5i pro. It has a core i7 processor and an RTX3060 graphics card. I recently upgraded it to have 32gb RAM and it's able to play GS Pro in ultra settings pushing 4k to my projector while having OBS record all the gameplay. I get anywhere from 20 to 60fps on all the courses usually around 30-40 on most of the new graphics intense games. I would definitely recommend getting a decent gaming PC or laptop but having said that you don't need a beast of a computer to play GS Pro you can play it with a computer that has a dedicated GPU and i5 processor but you will have to run GS Pro in a lighter setting. For me I wouldn't get anything to budget as the courses are all getting better and better and you will end up having to buy another computer quickly down the road. Hope that helps! Cheers
Im having similiar issues! I have it all setup in the Camera App no issues. I am in the practice mode on Exputt app....it reads the putt but it doesnt make it over to GSPro....I have tried restarting the connector....im going to keep messing with it! Hopefully I can get it working
Good video as always! But the big question is whether its worth me just scratching the itch and getting the GC3 so I never feel like I need to upgrade again or gamble on getting the MLM2Pro and hoping that I feel content with it. I don't want to bother getting the MLM2Pro if a bit down the line I am still going to feel like I want something more accurate and easier to use and spend the money anyway. Would you be happy with the MLM2Pro as your sole launch monitor or do you definitely favor your eye-mini?
So there are definitely going to be pros and cons to both... for me if you have the money I would personally get the GC3 and be done with it. I think the experience you get with this set up is going to just about rival the GC3 in terms of experience however it all relies on Springboks connector which is absolutely amazing but for whatever reason if that connector falls over due to updates from Rapsodo, GS Pro, windows, iOS, android.. I do have faith in Springbok and I think he will do his absolute best to keep it updated. I'm just thinking absolute worst case.... I will be doing a separate video on this all together with my thoughts! As for the eye mini... full review coming shortly but it has its own issues.
If you do this with a Mevo do you still run the launch monitor from the iPad or from FS app in windows. I’m not sure how to mirror the iPad if the wifi is connected to the Mevo. The iPad needs to be connected to the same wifi as the computer to screen mirror. The iPad can’t connect to both at the same time
Hi Joe, I have a question regarding the use of my iphone to play simulation on GSPro. It seems you only get 3 ROI with the iphone app versus the ipad... How do I manage to get the 3 missing data tiles? Thank you for your support!
Hey Eric when you are in the range it will go to landscape view and then there will be a tiny little arrow on the data tiles.. hard to explain but I uploaded a picture to my Instagram... If you hit that little arrow it will expand and you will see all the data tiles! Cheers
@@JLagGOLF Thank you Joe!! I took a leap of faith and bought the MLM2, banking on the fact that they’re working on the chipping. Also seeing how accurate and consistent the data seems to be. I will of course keep my R10 as it is thanks to this little device that my love for indoor practice was rekindled ♥️. At this point, seeing that they don’t seem to make further updates on the R10, I believe the next step (for me) is the MLM2. I can’t wait to see accurate spin axis! Not that the R10 was that bad, actually, pretty amazing how their algorithm estimated the spin axis. But in the end, there too big of a gap and too many outliers… So the journey continues! Keep up the great work mate!!
That would be an EPIC combo! If they could officially speak to each other and GS Pro it would be incredible. That being said Springboks connector is a 99% solution!
Thank you for the video however I am having a problem with my exputt and GSPRo not getting the same distances when I putt. I tried putting hard on my exputt and it goes 20m however on GSPRo it’s only like 1m I have tried different versions of the springbok connector but same result. I have checked all rois are correct too?Any advice please
Hey Jason the 2 distances won't be the exact same but they definitely won't be that far off! If you join the Joe Lagowski Golf Facebook group (answer the 3 questions and you will be in straight away) and then post to this with some pictures of your ROI's and also the show the distances of each that would really help. Is your exputt set up to not follow the ball?
Springbok informed me that on exputt you need to change meters to feet and this resolved the problem. Take not this unit change only needs to be done on exputt you can leave GSPRo on meters
Hey Joe, I signed up for GS Pro but in the settings it didn’t have open api just uneekor and flightscope. Any ideas why this might be. I signed up on the $250 US yearly do you need the other subscription of $550
Hey Ross that’s odd. What launch monitor do you have? If it’s the Garmin r10 or Rapsodo MLM2PRO then you will need the open API version it’s no stress you will just need to email GS PRO and they will swap your licence to an open API one. You don’t need the 550 version, unless you don’t want any updates once your subscription ends. So if you pay 550, you will have GS pro for the year and then once your subscriptions up you won’t be able to play online and you won’t get any further updates to GS pro however you will still be able play, the current version that you have forever, and you will still get the new courses that get uploaded to GS pro. I just run the $250 version Cheers
