Book printing is better than ever. I'm amazed at how much value you now get in a well printed book of a talented photographer. Wish there where more bookshops around to browse all the wonderful books that are out there!
Thanks! The tempo of turning the pages is very good. Great video, great albums. But your video can bring me material loss - I want to buy some of these albums 🤑
I have Ray's book, and I have a 16x20 print of the church in Taos (St. Francis de Asis) taken of the rear in high key. It is a truly beautiful print. I took a workshop with Ray in 1986 in Bishop, California along with John Sexton and Bruce Barnbaum. Ray is by far the most thoughtful, kind, and thorough photographer I've met. I talked with him by phone about the image I own just before his death, and I didn't even know he was ill. He did tell me that he had allergy issues in the darkroom. I was shocked to learn he had died, I believe of cancer, just a few months after we talked. Very sorry to hear that news.
I was sad to have only just discovered him. But I am so glad I did, he work is wonderful, I bet that print is amazing. I will seek a print of his out to see.
These are some wonderful books Todd! Seems that the prices of these books go up real fast. Do you know of any way to see what books are coming out? Also as I have started looking into photo books I have come across New York by William Klein, have you seen this book and if so what are your thoughts!
Brilliant! Thank you. I couldn’t resist and have ordered new copies of Mark Kett and Thomas Joshua Cooper’s books (Thomas taught at Derby near me and worked alongside one of my heroes, John Blakemore so I have loved his work for years). I wish my pocket extended to Explorations too, but the SH prices advertised are a tad frightening?
@@toddkorolphoto Sadly, all too true. My book and print collection is now worth way more than even my bloated camera collection. I saw copies of Haas' 'Color Correction' on Amazon at close to £1000 so felt lucky to get a copy for a mere (sobs) £265.
Hi Todd. Great to see you offer a new video. Off the top of your head, can you recommend a book by Mary Ellen Mark that is under US$100? The Book of Everything is $$$ :)
Thanks, I actually know that too, but you know when a million things are running through your head and you film all this stuff and it goes on and on, my bad!

Wonderful collection, just ordered the Lora Webb Nichols book. Looking forward to it over the cold winter.
Thanks, nice. It's a wonderful book, her photography stands up today.

Thanks Todd, fantastic selection and very accessible presentation style, really enjoyed this.
Many thanks!
Wholeheartedly agree about Encampment Wyoming, an utterly sublime book.
Just lovely!
Great selection. I see that Sante D'Orazio book on your shelf. I love his commercial & editorial portraits, they definitely embody 90s aesthetics.
Thanks I am really attracted to his diary style. He had very cool diaries.

Always love learning about new books but my wife hates it because it means my photo library will be expanding. LOL Thanks for another great video.
My wife just watched the video and said I saw the price of some of those books, maybe we should start selling and putting it away for retirement!😆

Good video I may get one of these books.
Can't go wrong.
I loved this video.
My bank account hated this video.
They are addicting, but I love them.
I agree about the Lora Webb Nichols book! Best book of the year!
Have you seen Gerry Johansson’s book “American Winter”? It reminds me of some of your work.
It sits right behind me on my bookshelf. I love his work!! Thanks
Where is History of Photography by Naomi Rosenblum? Or you have previous editions?
Hi Todd. Great to see you offer a new video. Off the top of your head, can you recommend a book by Mary Ellen Mark that is under US$100? The Book of Everything is $$$ :)
Mary Ellen Mark, American Odyssey, that’s a great one as well.
Mary Ellen Mark, Exposure, is a nice collection.
I hate these videos. I want more books now 😆
Yeah there is a bunch coming out right now, but I really need to curb the book spending!
